People talked about Po-Koro or Ga-Koro having massive bazaars, but this place put them to shame. He was about to say something else when he spotted a Ta-Matoran running towards him, a look of panic on his face. 'Calik, what's wrong? What's going on?' Calik grabbed his knees, attempting to catch his breath, 'Lux...need...talk...you...private.' Lux lifted up his friend's arm over his shoulder and turned to Solia and Zaveno, 'I'll be right back guys. Sorry, I'll meet up with you later.' OOC: I shouldn't be too long, one or two posts. -Void

  • IC (Solia, Onu-Koro streets): "Okay, see you." she called. After the mention of Ga-Koro, she had felt slightly uneasy. He seemed like a nice guy, but it was extremely personal to her. Another part of her mind told her that she needed to relax, it happened to everyone nowadays, and she shouldn't be so disturbed. She sighed."Yeah, it'd be great if you travel with us, the more the merrier!" She grinned. But deep down she was tearing apart at the memories of what had happened in Ga-Koro. She needed to mask it with some casual chat."So, where you from? Mata-Nui, or some other place?"

  • IC: Isiak Isiak bent down and picked up the stone. He hunched over in his already humped Turaga form, and sat on the ground with his small-bladed staff resting against the cave wall. He peered into it with his lime green eyes and dark blue Kakama, and felt a rhythm, a song inside of it. He turned it over with dexterous grey hands, and found the beat. Beat-five, one, one-two-one... beat-five, one, one-two-one... this will do. Isiak reached his arm behind his robed back and pulled out a curious tool. It was made of pale wood, shaped like a thin disc that tapered out into a rectangular protrusion. It was hollow and had a hole in the center, with cords positioned over the hole attached to its thin end. He detached a piece of shiny rectangular metal, and readied it on top of the cords. Isiak called this tool a Violin. And he played the beat, the rhythm, out into the cavern, where it echoed across the walls for hundreds of feet. OOC: Open for interaction, if you can hear the music.

"Argh, this is why I hated Le-Koro, now in my own home too?! Mother of Mata Nui..." He got up and went in the direction of the music. "Turaga! Why would you be doing this? I thought Turaga were wise and..Well, Matau does this too, but why you?" Shohu was a serious type, and hated loud music of any kind. The melody he played was beautiful and elegant, Isiak found it hard to believe someone would consider it anything like what you could hear in Le-Koro. Flutes and drums do no justice to the music all around me, inside me.

  • IC It was my turn to chuckle. Slowly the chuckled evolved into this gaffing breathing, followed by and all-out laughfest to the point of tears. Exhausted and out of breath I flopped myself into the back of the chair, thumbing the cup in my hand as I stared at it. "Ah Wiremu, why do we do this to ourselves? We fight like an old married coupe; honestly we need a new hobby." For me, the laugh was more of a valve, a relief of my feelings after my outburst. It was the fact that the two of us were so different, with such opposite point of views, that even when we fight and bash each other mercilessly, we can come back and be civil, understanding... he was a true friend, that's all there was too it. And it finally hit me up until now I think I had taken it too much for granted. Now substitute that for "granite" and you had a Po-Matoran joke on your hands... I shook my head, trying to stay serious. Having gone this far, I decided to take another step into the abyss. "You know, after what you said, maybe it's time you left the Koro." He looked at me warily. I leaned in, excited, trying to explain my brilliant plan. "Look, you talked about helping people, and also feeling trapped here. Now I'm not suggesting you leave simply for a vacation's sake; you've convinced me of that one, not to mention your conscience would probably kill you. Having lived here you're whole life you've seen everything, done almost everything... when was the last time you came up with a true original work from what you have around here? It always come from the outside. I mean look!" I grabbed some blueprints, one from his most recent commission. "People are coming here, resources, ideas, everything is coming all the way here for it to become a reality. You feel trapped because simply put, you've exhausted all your ideas. You need inspiration! You need to see what's out there. I mean, Wiremu, I can give you a pile of dirt, crystals, and some random gears and you can give me a bio-long list of useful things that could be made from it. Useful, not just random objects! Imagine what you could come up with if you saw what an actual tree looks like, or an entire Po-Wahi quarry, or the machinery and lava fields of the great volcano! Think about it Wiremu, think of the things you could create to help people if you actually went out there and SAW them for yourself, experienced the island with all its wonders, its resources, its people, instead of locked away in your hut and have people come to you. You feel limited because well, here, you are!" I reached over and grabbed his arm. "Sometimes the rational answers aren't the right ones; sometimes ya just gotta do, not think. You need to listen to your heart to, not just your head." I poked both as well, driving it home. It was here that I gave that irresistible smile of mine, wrapping it all up. "Besides, only stupid people travel alone! Or brave. Or both!" I laughed as I realized I just described myself. "Do you really think I would convince you to travel without accompanying you? I would be with you every step of the way, protecting you was we explored this island. I may be an intelligent athlete, but I have no mind for gizmos or ingenious mechanisms. For every brawn there has got to be a brain!" With a push I slid my chair right over to his, wrapping one arm around him and I extended the other, portraying a mental picture for the both of us. "Imagine, we going out and doing amazing things, having epic adventures, not only inspiring hope BUT ALSO leaving in our wake a swath of useful inventions that could stem the tide of Makuta's onslaught. Who knows, we might end up on the wall." I turned to look at him. "One only gets so many chances; when an opportunity presents itself, grab it, else you might end up living a life filled with regret. So what do you say... wanna dive off the cliff with me?"

  • IC: Isiak Isiak hoisted himself up from the ground with his pointed staff, and spoke. "Ah, my mistake, all appear young to one such as me." His tone turned more serious yet passionate. "The song is everywhere, and we are all notes. I vaguely heard it as a Toa of Sonics amidst the blasts of sound and silence I made with my powers, and always was there despite however loud the world was. I only heard it for what it was when I became as I am now, a Turaga. The Le-Matoran hear the music of their own jovial minds and of their lightheartedness, but I hear all. All things in the world have a song, but I found that I can not see my own song. Perhaps it is because, as you say, I have completed my destiny. You, however, your beats and notes are as clear and distinct as this rock. You haven't reached the end of your song yet."

  • IC: Joske was certainly making the case for Wiremu to leave stronger by the word - but it was his offer that made the premise of voyaging almost irresistible for Wiremu. Travel companion to Joske, Wiremu thought wistfully. That would guarantee adventures... I'd be constantly traveling, seeing new places and things every day. Not to mention, I'd be with a fighter... I wouldn't have to be so afraid, right? he asked himself. By posing the situation as a means to further his work and spread his ideas, too, Joske was making the concept far more appealing to Wiremu's pragmatic side - or, really, they were excuses that his yearning whimsy could feed his pragmatic side to thereby feel less guilty in taking control. But Wiremu knew that to leave Onu-Koro, without permission, would be an undeniable abandonment of his duty, and no measure of guilt-evasion would be able to scrub that blemish on his conscience clean. "I will join you, Joske," Wiremu agreed. This roused a smile on Joske's face. The Ta-matoran was about to interject enthusiastically when Wiremu interrupted. "If Turaga Whenua can be convinced that it's a good idea. If I left here without his blessing, the weight of obligation would torture me. I need to know that my duty is not left behind..." he said softly. Wiremu averted his eyes to the floor. He knew that by forcing himself to get Whenua's approval, he was simultaneously setting himself up for refusal. Maybe the Turaga will say no, and I'll find the selfishness in me to do what I want, anyway, Wiremu reflected, worried as much by the prospect of abandoning his duty as by the prospect of dissapointment.

  • OOC: Was that Joske up there tempted to start singing "I can show you the world"? ^^ IC: Toa Agni couldn't help but stare in amazement at the walls of the cavern he and Valria had slowly walked down into for the past hours. At first quite plain and unadorned, save for the archway that had been crafted at it's entrance, the direct tunnel from Ta-Wahi to Onu Wahi only revealed its very special appeal once one had made it about halfway through. Luminescent plants and algae began to grow at a certain depth below ground, lining the rocks and walls of the tunnels the Onu-Matoran had dug over the years. Whenever a new passage was completed, it took mere days before the first glow of teal could be made out, and within a few months, the glow could even be enough for surfacers to see. Life always found a way to thrive, even the dark underground of these caverns. But what set the highway-tunnel apart was not only that, but what the glow from the plants revealed. Light-stones and other valuable rocks embedded in the walls of the tunnel and brought to the open by the miners were reflecting the blue-green light from the plants, piercing the darkness like stars in a clear night's sky. The Toa of fire smiled. He remembered back in the days as a Matoran, when the first connecting routes between the villages had just been established that this adit had originally been dug as a mine. It was thanks to the Turaga that the mining had been stopped and the tunnel been turned into a part of the tri-highway roads that connected Ta-, Onu- and Le-Wahi, leaving its wonders intact. Instead, the Onu-Koronans had begun with their great mine. It had been months since Agni had last left Ta-Koro, except for the patrols along the borders of the Wahi and it had been even longer since his journeys had last taken him to the subterranean home of the Onu-Matoran. It wasn't Ta-Wahi, not by a long shot and like all "firespitters" as his people were sometimes called, he was proud of his village in a way that only those who shared it as home truly understood, but coming back here, he remembered this homely feeling Onu-Wahi always had on him. And the people were like their home: steadfast and tough like diamonds but incredibly patient, warm and friendly at the same time. Suffice to say, he liked coming here. Now that he was out of the ups and downs of his regular days, his mood was definitely improving. Agni was confident they would find out more about Valria's past and new leads on who'd kept her a prisoner. In thoughts like that and mesmerized by the surroundings the two hardly noticed how the time had passed. It was only after Agni noticed that the light of the algae was fading that a faint orange glow could be seen in the distance, like that from a torch. The Toa knew they were close to the underground village now and Agni could see passages to either side of them now, leading to different parts of the Koro directly. Symbols carved into the walls read "Great Mine" or "Le-Koro Highway". A few moments later, the two travelers emerged from another archway and stood in the enormous cavern that housed Onu-Koro. He could see the huts and low-ceiling buildings that made up the village, divided into two halves by an underground stream and connected again by an arching bridge. Like the tunnel behind them, light-stones made up the majority of light-sources here and gave the village its unmistakeable atmosphere. Agni took in the scenery before turning to Valria. "Well, here we are."
