Sure, that would probably be fine no matter what it is. We don't really have anyone else hosting right now, so I would just go for it if I was you.

tbh you might as well not even bother throwing it here to review. At this point you could just host it as XL.

  • I’ve been kicking around a few more ideas for side Mafia games, figured I might as well toss them out because I may be able to start hosting games again by the end of the month.

    Idea 1:

I really did intend for Slizer Mafia 3 to be the last of that series.  But, with things going the way they did…it feels like the story lacks proper closure.  So…here we are.

Trying to keep this one as simple as possible, so I’m just saying that the Slizers have returned to Okoto and both peoples have worked out their differences, and now the legendary Coronet Slizer has arrived with the intention of wiping them all out.  I should be up front: the Coronet Slizer is going to die at the end, even if they win the game.  I want this to really, actually be the last Slizer Mafia, and offing the big bad arc villain is the only way that can happen.

The mechanics are pretty simple, with the Coronet having a few followers who serve as the Mafia and being unable to be killed as long as at least one of them is alive.  The Millennium Slizer is the Medic, the Music Slizer from Okotans’ Revenge is back as a wild card, and we’ve got two “Protectors of Knowledge” who will be trying to find each other at night.  If they do, they can complete a formula capable of killing the Coronet, though they’ll still need to get the formula to them somehow.  Even if one of them dies, that isn’t necessarily the end of the formula…but the details aren’t important right now.

So, “Slizer Mafia: The Final Refrain”.  Anyone want to play?

    Idea 2:

And now for my worst idea ever.

    RoboRiders Mafia.

The six RoboRiders will be split up into pairs—Frost and Dust, Power and Onyx, Lava and Swamp—and all three pairs will select a target each night.  Which RoboRider makes the decision/kill switches each night. (Using the Frost/Dust pair: Frost kills on Night 1, Dust kills on Night 2, Frost kills on Night 3, Dust kills on Night 4, etc.) Only one suspect list will be provided, with a guarantee that at least one of the three RoboRiders who killed will be on it.  With this many killing forces, I want to have two Medics, and since that’s eight special roles right there I won’t be adding any wild cards.

When a Villager dies in this game, the RoboRider who killed them gains 1 Wheel Talisman.  When a Villager is lynched, 1 Wheel Talisman is given to a randomly selected RoboRider.  During Night rounds, the RoboRiders can use up Wheel Talismans to activate abilities: use 1 Wheel Talisman and you will not be the one to appear on the suspect list (if all RoboRiders who kill use this ability, there will be no suspect list); use 2 Wheel Talismans…I haven’t decided yet, but I think it should be something to screw with another pair of RoboRiders (pick another pair to block for the night?); and if you use 3 Wheel Talismans, you can kill two players in one night, but you are guaranteed to appear on the suspect list, and will only gain one Wheel Talisman afterward rather than two.

If a RoboRider dies, then all the Wheel Talismans they have accumulated get transferred to their partner.  If a RoboRider kills a RoboRider whose partner is already gone, they gain their Wheel Talismans, but if a RoboRider whose partner is already gone is lynched, all their Wheel Talismans disappear.  Since this potentially allows for a RoboRider to have a large number of Wheel Talismans, I feel like I should consider whether or not a RoboRider can activate multiple abilities in one Night, but right now I’m thinking no.  And no, a RoboRider is not allowed to kill their partner.  Trust your partner.

The game ends if the Villagers are able to kill all RoboRiders (HA), or if only one (pair of) RoboRider(s) remain(s).

Couldn't they just only protect people in suspect lists then?

I still like the game idea though.

Maybe make a separate village role (Vigilante or such) with the power to kill RoboRiders. They could also sort of serve as the game's detective since if they don't kill a player, there's a good chance they are a member of the village.

  • Final Refrain is done, another short game.

Using the player count here, I’ve decided on some alterations to make to RoboRiders Mafia when I eventually run it:

-I’m going to ditch the partner concept, and only have two RoboRiders who work independently.  Generic ones, too, not named after any specific set.

-The talisman mechanic will be changed so that a Rider can use 1 talisman to either stay off the suspect list or block the other Rider.  Also, neither will gain a talisman if a villager is lynched.  They won’t be able to accumulate too many, judging by Final Refrain’s turnout, but I may leave the option open to use both abilities in one night in case they end up with 2 talismans.

-Given this, I’m thinking I’ll cut back to just one Medic, add a Detective, and probably not add the Rider Killer.  This leaves just 4 special roles but if we’re expecting a group of about 12 people I think that’ll probably fit well enough.

Not planning to host it yet, of course.  I’ve hosted two Mafia games in a row now and don’t want to assume it’s fine if I extend that to three, so I’m definitely holding off to give someone else a chance to host.

    G&T Discord

Back in... January, I think, we created a G&T Skype chat; this new Discord is intended to replace that, since Discord is better in just about every way so far.

The Discord has a few channels; one for general discussion and another where we're hoping to arrange a couple game nights each week. Chances are these game nights are going to be Left 4 Dead 2 or Team Fortress 2 MvM most of the time, but I'm sure there are other games we'll play as well.

So anyway, come on and join us!

  • I have an idea for a Mafia game.

BIONICLE MAFIA XL: BACK WITH A (META) BANG

Welcome to land of Games & Trivia. It is divided into many topics: BZP Realms, Hitman, BIONICLE Caption Contest, Steal the Mask, Pool of Protodermis, The BIONICLE Last Letter Game.. and the dead topics of BIONICLE Mafia.

Two years ago, the citizens of BZP Realms united to overthrow BIONICLE Mafia, whom they felt had hung onto dominance of Games & Trivia for far too long, having gone through three ages. Their rebellion was successful, and now Games & Trivia is littered with dead Mafia Topics, echoes of ages past, instead dominated by giants like BZPower's Game of Thrones, BZPower's Bara Magna, and BZPower's Mata Nui.

But all is not lost. Echoes of ages past still remain within Games & Trivia, seemingly dead topics of Mafia games both ancient and new. Because long before BZPGOT, and even longer before BZPBM and BZPMN, there existed ages mired in mystery, ages where most knowledge was wiped by a great disturbance known as the 'Dataclysm'. But they still existed, and more importantly, they tell of a time when Mafia ruled Games & Trivia unrivalled. Ages the current age of Mafia looks to for inspiration, ages that give it the strength to strike back... Mafia aims to begin resisting the series of BZP Realms, and rise to dominance once more.

For Mafia, times are tough, and they only look to grow tougher. Mafia, troubled as it is, has been offered protection in the form of 'BZPower's Game of Mafia' by G&T regulars, who claim this will resolve Mafia's issues and unite it under the banner of the BZP Realms.

In such times, such as offer is a very attractive prospect - but change is on the wind once more.

This is Games & Trivia, and in Games & Trivia... you live and see the whole thing through to the end, or sputter out halfway through.

    RULES:

    • No vote changing permitted.
    • Once killed, players can no longer have an impact on the game.
    • Role revealing is not allowed.
    • As usual, BZP rules apply.

    ROLES:

    Games & Trivia's Resistance:

Games & Trivia has a slowly building resistance, including many Mafia games, the Caption Contest, Gift-giving game, and Steal the Mask as a professional thief in their service.

BIONICLE Mafia x15 - There's tons of these games. They are in no short supply, despite dying out.

BIONICLE Caption Contest x1 - Through its aptitude at captioning images, this topic can figure out who did what to who. (including their role, who protected who, and will receive a suspect list of three players if they investigate a dead player)

The Gift-Giving Game x1 - This topic can give gifts to other topics to prevent them being killed by the BZP Realms.

Steal The Mask x1 - Due to its tendency to steal the mask, this topic's votes count for double as it is mistaken for another topic when it steals said mask.

    BZP Realms:

These games really want power over G&T.

BZPower's Game of Thrones x1 - BZPGOT leads the BZP realms as the first one to have ever existed, and wishes to keep its dominance over G&T. Thus, it leads the BZP Realms. When killed, it may choose to kill one other topic of its choice.

BZPowers Bara Magna x1 - BZPBM answers to BZPGOT. Due to its tendency to have the forums eat its episodes, it may choose to correct that by extending the suspect list with players of their choice.

BZPower's Mata Nui x1 - BZPMN also answers to BZPGOT. Due to its tendency to have episodes split into two parts, its votes count for twice as much.

    Games & Trivia's Neutral Topics:

These topics do not care and just want to cause chaos. Because they can.

BIONICLE Hitman x1 - BIONICLE Hitman may choose to kill one topic per night.

Pool of Protodermis x1 - Pool of Protodermis demands things change. It wants you to step in it. Please step in it. Go on, do it.

The BIONICLE Last Letter Game x1 - The BIONICLE Last Letter Game may choose to visit one player each round, and gains whatever abilities the visited player has for the next.

  • Bionicle Mafia
    A Simple Vacation.

Over a year and a half ago the members of BZPower were minding there own business when suddenly out of no where a time traveling Rahkshi appeared.
They were skeptical of the strange Rahkshi and annoyed with his constant questions and horrible grammar.
But over time they came to accept him as one of there own.

Now the self proclaimed TimeLord has gathered twenty members of the BZPower community to a tropical island vacation on Voya Nui in its beautiful Mahri Nui village.
What's the worst that can happen?
It's not like he accidently brought five psychotic murderers along to the island? Right?

    Rules
    1. I don't know, follow all BZP rules.
    2. No role revealing
    3. No screenshots
    4. No vote changing
    5. Don't betray your faction.
Breaking any rule will result in you being exiled from the island by cannon fire.

    Roles
    Good Guys
    BZPower Citizens X15
Member who just want to enjoy the vacation.
Vote during day rounds, vote counts as 1

    Detective X1
A Member who just happened to bring a magnifying glass and a lie detector.Investigates one player every night round reports findings in the day round along with Chad (I'll talk about Chad later).
    Vote counts as one.

    Medic X1
A Member who just happened to bring a first aid kit.
Protects one player a night. If they find a Mafia member then they can kill them unless the medic was the Mafia's target.

    Bad Guys
    Mafia X3
Want to ruin everybody's fun by killing them
Select one person to kill during night rounds.
    Vote counts as one.

    Special Variables
Just like in Nato's game where I stole this from. Special Variables are RPG based events which can effect the game.

    1.Chad
A combination of the detective and medic roles. Cade protects whoever he picks but reveals there identity the next Day round. Dose not care which side a player is on.
    2.Rainy Night
Allows the Mafia to kill two people in one night round.
    3.Party Night
Mafia and other night roles are stopped due to a all night party.
    4.TimeLord's Pardon
Stops a hanging from happing. If two or more players are to be hung TimeLord RPG picks who to save.
    5.Nothing
Nothing special happends, roles act normal.

    Okay here's my opening post.
I'm still working on some plot points and jokes to incorporate but this should give you guys a rough idea of what I'm planning.

I would love some constructive criticism and suggestions.

  • Okay, I want to propose an mafia games with a few ideas I have, including revivals and identity hints. I guess let me know if anything seems off in the description. I'd probably be too busy to host it next month, but maybe somewhere down the line...

    Mafia: Graveyard

    Synopsis

A small island once hosted a thriving Matoran community, but in years past they were ravaged by the Mafia, and the lifeless wreckage remains to this day. Nearby islands want to resettle the village, but are wary because it now resembles a hap hazardous graveyard, which attracts many dark creatures. A company of Matoran have been giving a daunting task: restore the village and lay its dead to rest in a proper graveyard. For this, they have recruited a team of Matoran grave diggers; stalwart Matoran who can stomach the dire atmosphere. But not all of them are as noble as they appear, for some have a hidden agenda. A small sect of Grave Robbers has joined the company, with the intent to profit off the hidden treasures remaining in the city. But they know that they will only get away with it if the rest of the Grave Diggers meet unfortunate ends. And they aren't the only ones to be wary of, for a Vampire and Neuromancer have also joined, enticed by the dark callings of the former village.

To keep things sanitary and uncontaminated, all the villagers are provided new masks upon arriving on the island, to help them identify each other. But that alone will not stop those will ill intentions. Will the island be restored from its dark Mafia past, or will the shadows find a new haven in this forsaken village? The answer remains to be seen...

    Rules

    • One vote change permitted per day, but it has to be made clear.
    • Once killed, players cannot publically impact the game, although some roles will have after-death capabilities
    • Do not reveal your roles.
    • Follow all BZPower Rules.
    Roles

    The Company

1x Accountant - A duteous keeper of records, they can discern much about the various members if they puts their mind to it. Can target one person per night and learn their role. If they discover a Grave Robber, they can neutralize their vote the next day.

1x Gate Keeper - A tough and intimidating individual. Can protect one person per night from getting targeted, as they will dissuade the other roles from approaching. Will survive first attempt on their life, but a clue will be revealed about their identity.

1x Vampire Hunter - Seeks out the undead to remove them from this world. They can target one person per night, and if they find the Vampire or Necromancer, they will kill them, but a clue will be revealed about their identity. If they target someone bitten by a vampire the previous day, they can cure them.

15x Grave Diggers - Ordinary workers, they get one vote per victim per day.

2x Vengeful Spirits - They appear to be mere Grave Diggers, but their spirits can return upon their deaths. This will happen if they are killed by a Grave Robber who is not brought to justice the next day, and they can only target the members on their suspect list. Once they kill their murderer, they return to the afterlife in peace.

    1x Hidden Role - ??

    Grave Robbers

1x Head Honcho - Makes the ultimate decision on whom to kill each night, and can kill one other member if they are lynched.

1x The Influencer - A talker with a sweat voice, their opinion is greatly valued, so their votes count as double. Also assumes Head Honcho's position if they are killed, in that they make the ultimate decision each night.

1x The Meticulous One - They leave little trace when they make a kill, which causes the suspect list to grow.

1x The Maniac - Can target two people, but their methods are not always effective, allowing the potential for their targets to survive. If this happens, a clue will be revealed about their identity.

    The Undead

1x Vampire - Can bite someone every night, with the chance that they can kill their victim. If the victim survives, their actions will be neutralized as they are under the vampire's spell, and their votes can be overruled by the vampire the next day. Because the Vampire is unable to stay out in the direct sunlight, their vote does not count, but the votes of their victims will. If they attack the Gate Keeper, they will be killed.

?x Vampire Victims - They survived a bite from the Vampire, but they are transforming. They will be unaware of this change the first day, as the Vampire will control their ability to vote. The next night, they will transform into a full vampire and have control over their actions. The exception would be if they are targeted by the Vampire Hunter, who would cure them, and they will provide a hint towards the Vampires true identity.

1x Necromancer - Can reanimate one of the dead per night, but only has a 50% success rate. If they succeed, the undead will kill for the Necromancer. However, they must be cautious, because if they reanimate a vengeful spirit, things could go badly for them. If they reanimate a vengeful spirit, they will only attack people on their suspect list, and if they are sent elsewhere, they will turn on the Necromancer.

?x Reanimated Corpses - A formerly dead player can be reanimated and kill for the Necromancer. They will be allowed to share knowledge of their former lives with the Necromancer and have say in selecting their targets, but only one corpse can attack per night, and not on the night they are first reanimated. If they target a role other than a Grave Digger, they will be destroyed in the process. Due to their official dead status, they cannot be targeted and will not leave behind a suspect list, so the other members will attempt to vote for the Necromancer. If the Necromancer is killed, his powers will no longer be reanimating the corpses, who will thus return to their dead status.

    Member List:

Each member will select a mask in a particular color. If a hint is given to their identity, either the type or color of their mask will be revealed. The more players who have a particular type or color of mask, the harder it will be to identify them, so choose carefully. If a player doesn't select a specific mask, they will be provided the first available one on the list. 25 masks will be initially made available; if there are more players, more masks will be added, but they will be easier to identify.

Types: Hau, Kakama, Matatu, Pakari, Ruru

Colors: Red, Orange, Tan, Brown, Black

  • I can wait on hosting my game for this one. I'm free in November anyway.

    Go for it.

Hah, but I'm not free in November, and I wouldn't want to run this without my full attention. :( I'm cool with waiting for a month.

I guess I'll go for it then.

    Any objections?

  • Alright, I've got an idea for another mafia game so I thought I would run it by here.

There is no set role list for this game. Instead, roles will be added via three methods

    1. Each player when signing up will chose one role they wish to be added to the pool.

    2. In addition, each player can vote for one role in the topic when signing up, that they wish to be added. The role that gets the most votes this way will be added to the pool.

    3. A small number (4) roles will start in the pool.

The roles will be distributed at random at the start of the game. Since there will be more roles than players, a few won't go to anyone. I'm thinking any role from a main series third age game will be permisible. Since many roles vary slightly, please specify what game you are pulling your chosen roles from.

    Miscellaneous Rules

    • Follow BZP rules
    • No screenshots
    • Say who you are switching from if changing your vote
    • If there are are multiples of a neutral role in play (i.e. Pyros or Serial Killers) they won't know each other's identities, but they can still win the game together.
