"It's surprising how much damage a pile of hardcover books can do to someone," Exxan said thoughtfully, "learning really can be dangerous."

"Well," Fall began, walking over to Omega's bedside, "that is unfortunate."  She picked her catch pole up and planted the end of its shaft into the ground with a menacing clang.

Omega looked at her uncertainly. "Yes? It is?". Where the Karz were his weapons? Oh no. He had a sinking feeling Glass had them.

It didn't take a genius to guess at what Fall had planned. But Exxan was a genius, and he was fairly sure he knew what Fall was going to do to Omega.

He decided not to say anything; just stand by and watch events unfold.

"So, if the rumors I've heard about the series of events leading up to you getting in that bed are true," Fall hissed, shifting her weapon into a two handed position, "good job on the initiative, I guess." Her statement was punctuated by her catch pole swinging down to meet his midsection.

  • IC Vir

    Vir's Dormitory

Vir's orange eyes flickered open. Lethargically, they climbed off their cot and stretched their arms, loosening the stiffened joints. As Vir looked over their reflection in the polished pane of scrap metal they used for a mirror, they recalled something had happened last night. Something important...

    The game!

That woke them up like a slap in the face. Vir's memories all rushed back at once: their target, their plans, their strategies.

At least I wasn't "killed" in my sleep.

After picking up their sword and lamenting again the superficial damage to their shoulder armor, Vir headed off towards the refectory. Vir passed other students, but somehow wasn't nearly as intimidated as usual, despite knowing that someone, somewhere was planning an attack for them. Perhaps it was the knowledge that they'd already survived a whole night and day of the assassination game.

Once in the refectory, Vir got in line for the glop of the day.

    IC Mahrika

    Corridors

Mahrika was on his way to the refectory for breakfast when something caught his eye. There was, for reasons he couldn't imagine, a rope with one end tied to the grille of a ceiling vent and the other end wedged into another vent. Was it some kind of joke by a student, stealing a rope from the supply closet and pinning it in some hard-to-reach place? If so, it was a particularly juvenile prank. Mahrika decided to get the rope down and perhaps leave it with a porter. He raised his trident and hooked one of its prongs around the rope, then pulled.

Given that Green was holding Caoutchouc, she went down when Omega kicked the wounded Rahkshi. "Wha-!" Dropping Caoutchouc, she hastily licked herself off the ground, pinning Caoutchouc down with her scarab blades. She sighed in frustration. "Idiots..." She couldn't afford to lose her cool again; her image was at stake. Still...

She would have to talk to Suvok about not having assignments about this nature in the future. If the Rahkshi were to serve as the army of Makuta, shouldn't they be a unified one? If she could get others on her side... Maybe a council would do it?

Lights exploded in Fall's eyes as her head reeled back from the impact. This was an embarrassment. She couldn't take on one bed ridden Rahkshi? Fall snarled, glaring at Omega. Fine then.

Her staff was still attached to his arm. It wasn't a Rahkshi Staff but it would do fine. Grabbing it in both hands once more, Fall began to focus, siphoning off Omega's strength into herself.

Squid heard loud noises, like a fight. Were they coming from the infirmary? If so, then his job just got a little bit easier. However, holding a rock in a crouched position while in an air vent is no easy task, especially after your whole plan almost got unraveled by a bystander who pulled on the rope attached to it.

As the first rays of dawn began to peer over the horizon, 256 arrived at the Cauldron. Xhe wasn't able to find anything particularly useful in the markets, though xhe did make a few notes of some possible work opportunities. "Looks like I'll be spending the day here," xhe mused to himself; it would be too difficult to make the journey back to the Academy at this time of the day. He began rummaging through a pile of weapons, pausing to take a good look at some pincer-type launcher (read: Thornax Launcher/Meteor Blaster). "I wonder who's stash this is..."
