  • IC: Ismekne slowly began to walk out of the Arena. She saw an arrogant green Toa to the left, and thought that she would like to rip his mask off. There were also a bunch of Rahkshi that appeared to be friends. Maybe later. For now, rest was essential.

I was about to respond when someone else spoke up. I froze; I knew that voice.

"Glass?" I ran to him, throwing my arms around him and pulling him close. "You're here?" my voice broke, the realisation of our predicament finally hitting home. I broke away from him, my voice tinged with sorrow and disappointment. "You're here."

  • IC: Olari groaned, clutching her head as she woke. Her first instinct was to get to her feet. A Toa on the ground was a dead Toa. So she scrabbled upright, grabbing a wall for cover. She couldn't fight like this, she needed cover. Somewhere to get her head back in gear.

And how had she got like this? Must have been a Bohrok attack...but she couldn't remember what attack. Must have been hit real hard to rattle her memory like that.

Hmm, couldn't feel snow under her feet. The Bohrok must have employed Tahnok, used heat to melt the ice of Ihu away. Gave them better cover and, annoyingly, meant she was unlikely to find one of the buttresses of piled snow that littered the environment to hide behind.

And...and...talking? In her head, not her ears, she recognised the lack of variant qualities. No echoes or reverberations, or changes in volume or pitch. No pauses for breath. But the only telepaths on the island were...

Oh Karz, she hadn't made a run at the Bahrag had she? Those twins of terror were invincible, no attack on them had succeeded even when armies had tried it. That would explain why the place lacked snow but didn't feel hot, and what this wall was she was leaning against. In retrospect she should have questioned that sooner...

Well she wasn't going to go out fighting, that was for sure. She'd make sure those foul creatures paid in as much pain as she could inflict. She'd make sure she wrecked as many Bohrok shells and killed as many krana as she could find. She'd...

What in the world was Bionifight?

As Olari actually listened to the words, her horror somehow increased. Fighting for survival was one thing, fighting for some madwoman's idea of sport was another.

"Why do we have to die when we lose?" she asked out loud, not knowing how to respond via mind to the voice in her head, "Why could you not just return us to our worlds?"

Lets see, the voice had mentioned seeking out a Vo-Matoran. They were...blue and white. Yes, there were a few of them still surviving in the village, Olari remembered. Now where was he...

IC: Jorth awoke just as, and probably because of, the explanation being beamed into his head. And the ringing in his ears. He sat with patience, content to let his bearings flock back of their own accord, taking in everything the Queen was saying.

Well, he thought to himself, This is going to suck...

Do NOT bypass the word filter! -B6 I hoped she was doing okay without us. "...But... why did you think I was dead?" I asked abruptly, rounding on Glass. "Like I was saying, the last thing I remember was falling asleep at the campfire. You were still awake, keeping watching. And Sand was right next to me."

I rubbed my forehead, the pain of my Kraata's headache translating into a physical pain in my armour. "Why can't I remember anything properly?" It was frustrating, aggravating.... enraging.

Remembering Palma's words from month's ago, I decided that I wanted to be a Sword again.

"I feel asleep too. You were missing the next day, with no sign. I searched for weeks. When I found the remains of a Rahkshi suit, I thought... It wasn't yours, but I kept thinking I might find your corpse crushed, in some swamp one day."

Glass took a strong inhalation through his respiratory filters.

"I was so worried. Now Sand... I left her in one of the safe spots was the last thing I remember before coming here."

OOC: He took a deep breath.

  • GM IC - THE HOST - CONTROL ROOM

The Host glanced over to one of the several monitors displaying activity in the Arena and smiled to himself.

Every game started off exactly like the last - a multitude of desperately bewildered contestants, the ones he'd chosen, picked delicately each from their respective worlds, from amidst wars and schools and everything else... the fighters, trying to gain their bearings. In another place and time he might've felt sympathy over their confusion.
It'll pass. A few weeks from now they'll be grappling tooth and nail just like all the rest.

Usually the Host was the one down there greeting the new entrants. He quite enjoyed the task.
They probably wouldn't object either, he thought. Whenever any fighter had their first meeting with the Queen, it tended to be less than enjoyable. For the fighter, of course - but also for the Host, who liked to consider himself a paragon of professional courtesy.
But really, he had only himself to blame. Having chosen a handful of particularly hot-blooded fighters, it had been decided that the Enforcer should remain in the Arena, while the Host took over their duties in the Control Room.

    Oh. That's right.
Shaking his head, the Host turned back to the monitors directly in front of him.
They were charting the progress of the automated mechanisms within the Arena's walls, designed specifically for the Bionifight tournament, which would transform the Arena into something a little more exciting. The work was coming along smoothly, and soon enough all the machinery would be in place, surrounding the fighters below, yet out of their sight.

When Virnar opened her eyes, she knew that this wasn't Bara Magna. Around her were strange beings she did not recognize, and one in the middle radiating power.... She called herself the Queen? Hmm.

They were fighting in a tournament? Called Bionifight? The Glatorian didn't know what to make of any of it. But for now, she kept quiet..... One reason she came out on top during hunts was by being careful and not making a noise......

Some hunched over abomination didn't think that way, and Virnar had to pay for it by doubling over in pain, gripping the sides of her head until the pain subsided. Afterwards, the hunter took a moment to glare at Kat, before turning to the Queen.

"You and your friends know everything about us, then?" Virnar asked. "Since we are apparently battling each other in a tournament, would there be any resources where we could look up our future opponents?"

The hunter Glatorian knew the value knowledge of your opponent held.... And if she was playing to win, she needed to know her opponents. Simple as that

  • IC: Onuvo

Where am I? I should be dead...

The bulky Onu-Toa sat against the wall of the room, unfocused on the world around him

Maybe I am dead. Maybe the rest of my team is here!

He looked around quickly, hopeful to see a familiar face. Indeed, he did not. There were beings all over the place, none of which Onuvo recognized. He slowly leaned back against the wall, and oversaw the proceedings as his mind raced. What had happened? Why, of all the people, was he here?

He heard the announcements of the Queen, but didn't fully comprehend them. Something about fighting, and being richly rewarded.

"Wait." He murmered. He thought back on the last events he could remember, and things began to fall into place in his mind. It was fate that he was here, wasn't it? Onuvo was going to win this tournament. And then he was going to go back and kill the real Makuta.

"So if I win, I can go back. I can avenge my family."

He grinned slightly, and stood to his feet. He checked his equipment, and saw that he did still have his shields. Whatever this tournament was, he was going to win it. He would prevail.

OOC: So Wednesdays are like the most busy for me, so be warned if you try to interact with me. I won't respond very promptly, most likely, until tonight. =P

"O-omega..... No. No, you died! I saw your body! We buried your body!"

It was too much, too fast.

Why was omega here, when Fang, Exxan and the others weren't.

I twisted my head around, looking to see if I'd missed anyone.

    And there they were.

    Squid. Xara. Glass. Green.

    Karz.

I couldn't recall which side they'd taken in the final confrontation.

  • IC: Ismekne reached the door to the Arena and opened it with difficulty, stepping back nervously. Seeing only an empty stone hallway, the Toa stepped out into it, warhammer in hand, looking around for traps.

Minutes passed. The fighter began to walk, looking for the stairs to the upper chambers, the only sound the clank of her armored feet on the floor.

My eyes begin to open and the shadowy tendrils of my nighmares wither away. Why? Because some morons can't be quiet while others sleep, that's why.

Mild anger turns to confusion as I realise that I woke up at an unfamiliar place. When I try to remember what happened before I fell asleep, I fail. Of course, I must've been drugged again. I instinctively draw my sword, which thankfully is still in its place, and stand up. It's a large room, and a rather odd one.. Why is it so bright? Why do I still have my armour on? What kind of muggers are these?

Rahkshi, apparently. And Toa. And.. what the karz is that? It's not a Toa, or is it?  No, it's too tall.. or is it a she?

    Welcome to Bionifight.

Oh that's just brilliant, she's a telepath. I hate telepaths. I wish I had that Boruhka helm with me.. and I wish that I could approach her and lop her proud head off.

    ***

Two Rahkshi hugged each other. Well, that wasn't on my bucket list (Ha. Ha. Ha.), but neither was participating in Bionifight, but considering how that lanky woman just made every person in this room suffer agonizng pain, I have no other option but bowing to the stronger. For now, at least, I will play her little game of beating the karz out of others. It's my favourite game to play actually, so I shouldn't really complain, should I? No. I shouldn't. You know what? I'm going to enjoy it.

  • IC: (Raith)

Blue light, filling the vision, a sense of movement, violent movement, falling and spinning out of control and--

--particles of light circled, melting out of thin air and swirling and spinning like glowing ash on a breeze. The fragments circled faster and faster, gaining speed until they were a blur of energy that coalesced slowly into a solid form...well, almost solid.

As the azure light faded, what was left was a shape in the air, a shade, a ghost - it was like all the reflections and shadows of something left hanging in the air after the thing itself had been taken away.

A second passed, and the shape began to pull inwards, once again slowly at first, but gaining speed, like a star collapsing under its own gravity, becoming more solid, more...real.

As the appearance of a being finally emerged, there was--

--a moment of dead silence, like reality fractured in two--

--and then, standing there, was a tall being, clad in armour of grey. It was almost as if...they had somehow always been there, but had now become noticeable.

They were still and utterly silent, beings moving  around them like the flow of a stream around a pebble dropped in.

    Raith watched.

  • IC: Miras

My eyes snap open, precisely, not too fast, neither too slow. The protsteel eyelids do not flicker. Good. But something feels... Different. As if I'm missing something. Without moving a mechanical muscle, I take a good, long look through my mind's power database.

    Disturbing.

I only have two power options; my elemental Shadow control, as normal, and my Gravity powers. Nothing else. I can sense that my Kanohi s powered, but it has a different feel to it. It is no longer Vultraz' initial symbol of his New Brotherhood, the Mask of Scavenging, the one I took from his dead body after I rallied my brothers and sisters behind my cause.

    It is a Felnas.

I lie there for a few minutes, beating my disciplined mind into submission as I listen to the announcements of this "Queen".

Then I get up. I tower over most of the other beings in the arena, including- surprisingly- Rahkshi, who appear to be experiencing- much to my displeasure- the emotions that the native Spherus Magnans fall prey too far too often. Strange.

I test my wings- they are no good if they are damaged, as I can't shapeshift the damage away anymore- and to my relief, they work almost perfectly. They are not yet strong enough for fully-powered flight with the capability to break the sound barrier, but with some fine manipulation of my Gravity powers, I should be able to get some speed up during a fight.

I spot a male Vortixx fairly near to me, an expression of mild anger, mixed with honest confusion on his face. The Old Makuta may have found that strange- after all, he is male, and a warrior at that- but since the pitiful inhabitants of Teridax's final body moved to Spherus Magna, the male Vortixx broke away from the rest of the old Xian society, making them by all intents free to do what they wanted. But after all, it appears that many fighters here are from alternate realities, so it may not be that strange of a concept, where this Vortixx comes from.

I walk over to him, my protosteel-clad feet clanging ever so slightly on the metal flooring, my wings folded away neatly behind my back.

"Greetings," I say, extending a clawed hand to him. "My name is Miras, Emperor of Spherus Magna and leader of the New Order of Makuta."

    OOC: That's you, Daniel. :)

His eyes widened when he realized the monster was staring him in the face, but Green covered his mouth before he could scream again. "Listen, you're not gonna die. Just play by the rules and you should be alright. Even if you do mess up, you get seven chances, and you get more for each fight you win.

At the sound of this, Peter's face relaxed. He would have sighed in relief if Green's hand wasn't covering his mouth.

  • IC: The distinctive chink of metal on metal rang out as something tapped Green's shoulder.

"Yo," said Jorth, spear in hand, the blade resting on Green in a fashion that was both relaxed but undeniably close to her neck, "You want to let the guy go? Pretty sure the fighting hasn't started up yet."

IC: Olari had yet to find the Matoran of electricity the Queen had been talking about. Drat their small size, they were lost amongst all the larger figures. And the variety of these...well, they were all competitors now, weren't they, with stunning variety. Species that Olari hadn't seen in millennia, or had never seen at all. Strange figures that were almost Toa but weren't, the anatomy and armour configuration all wrong. Strange titans that looked like they could have come from the mysterious southern isles. An inordinate amount of Rahkshi, some of which apparently knew each other and were...embracing? That was a sight she could have done without...Could be useful though.

"Sons of Makuta," she said, marching over to the gang, "Our captor mentioned a Vo-Matoran who knew more about this place and its rules. I wish to find them and extract further answers. You are hunters, will you aid me?"

Artorre grimaced as a wave of psychically-induced pain snapped him out of his private thoughts. He had been more concerned with listening to the lady outline the basic rules of the tournament than asking about why or how they had been taken here. He groaned internally at the attempts of some of the abducted to convince their captor to release them. As if it would be that easy. Personally, he didn't even want to escape. A tournament such as this was exactly the challenge for which he had been searching for many years. After everyone else quieted down, he decided it was time for him to speak up.

He cleared his throat loudly. "Miss, ah... Bohemian Rhapsody? Yes, I was wondering if you might be willing to tell us when the first round will start? If my assumptions as to the nature of this tournament are correct, that means that We Are the Champions, by which I mean to say that you have summoned only the best fighters you can find, in which case, I am quite eager to get underway.

"I'm so happy to see you. I wish I could have been there to help you... Anyways, I'm not actually Squid but a shadow Kraata clone of him with all his memories. You?"

Lekona had seen all he needed. He had a purpose now, and he didn't need to hear anymore here, and while he could seek out that Vo-Matoran the "Queen" had mentioned, he didn't really feel the need to. He'd be here for awhile, so he thought it better he become acquainted with the facility.

Plus, I'd rather not be in the Arena, in case someone else decides to anger the ones in charge here, and give us all another shock as a result.

Lekona gave another glance at the Rahkshi that had caused the first shock, before leaving through one of the doors, walking into the hall.

A twitch ran through Green's body before she removed her hand from the Ba-Toa's mouth. "Could you just tell him to stop screaming?" she asked her assailant. "I don't know what's his problem, but he seems a lot more... Shaken up than most of us."

"No-one could have done anything Squid. It wasn't your fault. Besides, what did I ever do for you?" Omega asked.
