IC - Raehn - Onu-Koro: Raehn arrived back at the bar, arms crossed as she stared at Durim, an eyebrow raised behind her mask."..."
IC: Durim"Why did you pass the designated point, and head all of the way to that building? It seemed a rather strange way to try to win a race to me..." He shrugged slightly. "But, I guess understanding the minds of others is a challenge I can not yet complete." His grin became faked seriousness. "Did you not see me pointing to that spot between here and the building?"
IC - Raehn - Bar: "Really, now?" Raehn said, her voice completely even. "Now that is just downright dirty..." Her one visible eye narrowed. "Not that I should have expected any less from a Toa who, from the sounds of it, spends the majority of his time using tricks to get his way over the lives of others."Tell me something... how does a lowlife like you actually find a way to like the twisted image of a protector that they've created?"
IC: Durim"Downright dirty it may well be, but, it is not of my fault that you did not ask for any more details, or certainty about the target area..." He replied, grabbing his drink back off of the counter and taking another sip. "My time is spent making deals with others, of which I am skilled at turning in my favor when I see fit to do so."He chuckled dryly. "Who ever said I saw myself as a protector? I merely plan to use the falsification of being one to further my own goals."
IC-Ferrosey:Ferrosey strode into the bar in Onu-Koro, walking up to the counter. The bartender saw him and immediately began preparing a drink, knowing exactly what to get. "Here you go," he heard the bartender say, sliding the drink to him across the counter. Ferrosey sat down by somebody who appeared to be a toa of stone, and downed his whiskey in one sip. He could here the others around him talking quite a bit, so he loosened his concentration on the mask he wore, meaning that he only knew they were there, he didn't understand every word being said. He then heard the conversation going on next to him, and so he decided to join in."Falsification of being a normal Toa, eh?" he said to the two sitting by him, surprising them. "What's all this about something being downright dirty and what-not?"
IC: [Quada]"So saaddd today~" Quada cried unhappily as he continued drawing circles in the dirt. "Nobody seems to like me anymore."
IC: Incommodo & Kraal"I think it's about time we got the funeral started, don't you?" Incommodo repeated, seeing as everyone had ignored him the first time.Kraal stood outside the catacombs. Catacombs? Seriously?"Is Onyx there?" He called out.
OOC: XD, I completely forgot about the stalagmites.IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroTwitch surged foward, and the beginning-to-hurt lava flew off of him. And he promptly fell on his face, thanks to the gravel.Rasp cursed as he stepped on a tiny stalagmite, remembering the stone structures. Leaping foward, he grabbed the top of one of the large spikes and swung around it before springing off of it, flying into Clo'on with a powerful kick.IC: Onyx, Onu-KoroA small, thin onu-matoran walked out of the caves, his hunched over form twitching in fear. "What do you want with the Master, sir?"
IC: When Twitch hit the ground Clo'on made shackles of rock bind him there. The stony manacles pinned the Toa face-down on the ground by his knees, ankles, wrists and elbows. He could probably melt through them, but Clo'on didn't think he'd much like having his limbs seared by lava.He turned to deal with the Matoran only for Rasp's flying kick to hit him right in the chest. Fortunately he was much larger and heavier than the Matoran, and was only knocked back a couple of steps. Rasp would have a harder time of it, for he still had to land after his flying kick. And the ground underneath him was still lined with stalagmite spikes...
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroTwitch was by all means trapped, but wasn't at all out of the fight. Focusing on Clo'on, Twitch controled all the heat around the toa, and placed it around him in a protective circle. Clo'on was stuck in a -117 F death-trap.Rasp fell feet-first, stepping on a few smaller stalagmites, but other wise unharmed.
IC: Kraal"I am here to deliver a message to him." Kraal said. He had been shocked at first that a Matoran had appeared, but now that he knew the Matoran was simply a servant the surprise had faded.
IC: Onyx, Onu-KoroThe small, igor-ish matoran nodded before turning around and heading back into the caves.
IC: This time Clo'on mimicked the powers of a Lava Eel and began radiating heat faster than Twitch could pull it away. He simultaneously swung his mattock in a broad diagonal arc at Rasp. After having his feet repeatedly stabbed his ability to dodge would be severely limited. And now the stalagmites were behind him Rasp was all but fenced in so there was nowhere for him to dodge to even if he could. Hopefully that would take out the Matoran so Clo'on could turn his attention to the pinned Toa
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroRasp raised his sword, blocking the mattock, but making him skid back across the stalagmites, something so painful ... it made Rasp frown. Twitch smiled as the Toa used his Faxon, just as he hoped. Gathering the heat circle around him, Twitch stopped stealing heat from Clo'on, and then sent all of it blasting at Clo'on, as well as other blasts of heat of equal magnitude from every other side, an attack that would be extremely dangerous. After all, he was generating heat, and with that added heat, it would kill him. It was enough to melt any rock, and if he copied a frost leech again, which would be a miracle of timing and relfexe, would only be able to keep so much at bay before overloading himself.
IC: Under normal circumstances the heat trap might have worked. But it Twitch had wanted to superheat things, he probably shouldn't have made them super-cold to start with. The heat he was sending in merely filled the void he himself had created, warming up stones that had been layered with frost a few moments ago. What was supposed to be a rapid ambush was slowed considerably, giving Clo'on the time he needed to notice it.Now that Rasp was right against the stalagmites Clo'on created another set in front of the Matoran. What was a fence was now a cage, both rings of spikes elongating till they meshed over Rasp's head, effectively trapping him. The limited room inside meant the Rasp wouldn't be able to build enough force behind his sword swings to break the solid stone.Right, now the Matoran was out the picture Clo'on wouldn't have to worry about being stabbed in the back. He could deal with the Toa. He switched to the powers of a Lava Hawk. Their skins were completely resistant to lava, so he could take anything a fire Toa could dish out. He took a few steps over to the pinned Twitch and knelt in front of him."Yield."
IC: KraalKraal tapped his foot on the ground as he waited.
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroThe cage used to capture Rasp was... empty. The Matoran had backflipped away as he ended his skid, landing safely out of reach of any stalagmite, small or large, wincing from the pain it caused. Runnning over to Mina, Rasp pinned her other hand against the wall, and the put his crossbow, loaded with a steel spike, to the Skakdi's head. "Hostage fight? This isn't going to go anywere." He laughed / growled.Meanwhile, Twitch was slowly generating heat again, and maintaining control with the heat with in the area.IC: Onyx, Onu-KoroThe small Matoran reappeared having navigated the dark labyrinth at a incredible speed. "The Master will now see you." he mumbled before motioning Kraal to follow him back into the caves.
IC - Raehn - Onu-Koro: Deciding not to argue her point, Raehn was now set on bringing this guy down -- and as he was offering a party invitation, it would probably be easier to do so from close by."Very well," she said. "If you insist on your victory, then I won't question it."
IC: DurimHe was unaware of the fact that she was intent on his destruction, seeing it as a victory for himself at having another being added to the team. He nodded and took one last sip from his drink."Do any of you want anything while we are here? A drink, one of those foul looking fried creatures, anything?" He offered with a dull smile. "And we also need to plot out where we should travel next... "
IC: KraalKraal followed the Matoran into the catacombs.
IC: Onyx, Onu-KoroThe small matoran lead Kraal through multiple tunnels, carefully watching for signs no one else saw. Soon, they were approaching the chamber of Onyx. The small matoran pushed open the two gigantic doors (Intimidating sights, they were covered with skulls) to reveal a crystal-filled cavern. In the center of the room was a Onyx & Diamond throne, and sitting on it was the warlord himself."Speak, and if you wish to live, refrain from displeasing me while you talk."
IC: Clo'on could feel the heat, but with the Lava Hawk's power it didn't bother him. twitch might try removing all the heat again, but as Clo'on was standing right next to him, that would involve freezing himself. And not only did he have a greater vulnerability to cold as a Ta-Toa, but he had no Faxon to allow him to cope.Oh but apparently the Matoran had managed to free himself though, which was pretty amazing considering."You still haven't turned the tables in your favour," he pointed out to Rasp, "You have a shopkeeper who I have never met before and don't even know the name of, whereas I have your partner. If you are working for someone then they won't be thrilled you left this Toa behind and will likely punish you, and if you are the mastermind head of some petty little gang then you aren't going to be able to maintain your position with your feet crippled and your Toa muscle gone. Either way you can't afford to loose your partner here. And if you do kill the shopkeeper, what then? Your only option would be to run and and with your feet like that I'm astounded you can even stand, running will be out the question for you. I don't even need to catch you myself, just set the Ussalry on you. They'll run you down in seconds. You may not be as trapped as I would have liked, but you have still lost."Clo'on said this all calmly and with a level voice. He wasn't making threats, merely laying out the facts for the Matoran
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroRasp laughed at the Toa and his little speech. "Our gang? Loosing Toa muscule? Listen, Toa; We could lose much more than a entire toa team could kill, and not even notice it!" Meanwhile, Twitch was still making heat, obviously not trying to harm the Toa, but attempting something else...
IC: Clo'on smiled politely, "In which case you wouldn't be bothering with little shops like this. You'd be doing things on a grand scale. Please don't waste your time lying. You are beaten. Surrender."
IC, Aurax: "Okay, now what, guys? Should we go see Stannis?"OOC: Wow, this group's fallen into deep disuse!
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-Koro"Little shops...?" Rasp asked with a smile. "One who just stated that they didn't even know the name of the shopkeeper shouldn't even say anything about shop." He said as he stared back with a less than polite smile. "What is it they say? Better to keep your mouth shut and have others think you a fool than to open it and prove it?" Twitch was still generating heat... It must have been 200+ degrees, but Clo'on didn't care.
IC: [Arkrak]"Yes we are," Arkrak replied. "Now let's go."
IC: Incommodo"Okay then." Incommodo stood up. "Where're we headed?"IC: Kraal"I am under the employment of a Toa, named Reichenbach." Kraal explained. "He would like you to meet him and a few others at the Kini-Nui after the funeral of that Toa, Incommodo."
IC: [Arkrak]Arkrak lead the others to a small procession, where a Matoran was presiding over a coffin."Here of course."
OOC: How far is it from the hut?IC: Incommodo"So, that's the coffin." Incommodo said. "To be honest, I always imagined it a little less misshapen."
OOC: About a street or two.IC: [Arkrak]"I'm poor," Arkrak replied. "And it was cheap."
IC: Incommodo"So, you have about as little money as you do mask powers?" Incommodo joked.IC: ReichenbachReichenbach strolled into the Koro, then walked into his hut, transforming again into Chronn. He unlocked his basement and climbed down, before taking Traxin's corpse."Stay alive a little longer there." He said, nodding at Zarrus.
IC: [Arkrak]Arkrak promptly swirled around, the giant flashlight that was his mask activating, sending a beam of light into his friend's face. "Well I do have a lightbulb for a mask."
IC: Clo'on looked around the shop. It was, as he had said, small. "Have you perhaps wandered into the wrong storefront?" he suggested to the Matoran, "This is clearly a small shop. The fact that it just has one person working in it when security to guard the ornamented daggers would be useful means that it isn't part of some chain either. You are demanding protection from an independent shop with a small business, so you must be a small operation. Anything larger wouldn't bother with somewhere like this, they'd go after a larger chain. But you can't, because they could fight back."OOC: You do describe the shop as small in your first post describing it, btw. Thats where I'm getting the idea
OOC: yeah, I was kinda waiting until EW started to RP stannis again; he hasnt done it in a while, but whateverIC:"I was thinking that too", Nichou replied. "anything else anybody wants to add?"IC, Aurax: "Okay, now what, guys? Should we go see Stannis?"OOC: Wow, this group's fallen into deep disuse!
IC: Chronn"Incommodo, you incompetent fool. Arkrak, you slightly less incompetent fool. What is it that the two of you don't understand about Incommodo's funeral? Is it the fact he can't be seen before that, and he has just walked down the streets? You idiotic bumbling Brakas! Your lacking intellect has just made this trap useless. You, are both fired."He turned with a snarl, heading back towards his office. He was mad, and the two had brought his anger down on themselves. They were lucky he didn't feel like killing them, of they would have had a fight on their hands.
IC: "Shut up." Zarrus spat, "I thought you were a detective, but I guess you took a bit of a twist." he continued venomously. He was so sickened that one such as Thedar Chronn would resort to such phsycopathic behaviour, "And who was that guy you sent to kill Traxin in the jungle? Getting people to do your dirty work, are you?"
IC: IncommodoIncommodo ran after Chronn."First off, it was only a few streets, and Arkrak took us such a route as I wouldn't be seen." Incommodo pointed out. "Second, no-one actually knows what I look like, except Nex and a few of his minions."And third, I am not Incommodo. I am his long-lost twin brother."OOC: Sorry, couldn't help it. XDIC: Reichenbach"No, no. That wouldn't work." Reichenbach laughed. "I killed him myself, I just sent him so it would look like he did it. You'll be dead soon enough, I'll just have to 'solve' the crime and find you before that happens."Reichenbach climbed up out of the basement, locking the door behind him.
IC: Zarrus felt blood spill into his mouth, and spat it out. The poison was beginning to take effect. Zarrus himself had used this very same poison before, and knew it's effects. And it's cure: Eating. But the only food around was poisoned, too. Two options. He could eat the food, prolonging his demise but making it worse when it came, or let himself die of the poison or starve to death.Chronn had said he wanted Zarrus to stay alive so he could solve the crime... But what did tht mean? Zarrus found it difficult to put the pieces of the puzzle together with such little nourishment. His stomach yearned for food, to taste the sweet taste of fruit, or the toasty crust of bread.
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroRasp continued his smile, obviously knowing something Clo'on didn't. "Ah, Toa, your ignorance is laugh-worthy." Just as Rasp spoke, Twitch activated his plan.Using the heat he had created, Twitch focused it on his bonds to reduce them to slag, which he sprang up from, not giving the Lava the time to hurt him. His Kakama still activated, Twitch rushed foward, his Kakama-level reflexes keeping him on his feet, and struck the Toa of stone with his axe at a extreme speed. He leapt back before Rasp had finished talking, landing behind the piles of slag where the stone bonds had previously been.IC: Onyx, Onu-Wahi CatacombsOnyx stared at the Toa for a short time period before answering. "What's in it for me?"
