IC: SongSong spoke both out loud, and mentally. "To be more precise, we want to know what you intend in our city.""And if we're going to have to beat you up."
IC: Blacklight - Kopraga / Arkeths Mind"Demon?" Kopraga muttered, as if thinking. "No, mortals, I am not a demon. I am a god. Even the Great Beings feared me, feared my powers... as you would be right to, even in this discorporated, weakened state I am placed in.""What do I want? Death. Chaos. Darkness. This 'slave' as you called him is my tool on the world to wrong the rights.""Flee. Flee, and never come back.""I like it better when you run.""Arketh... kill them all."-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Song"Then you're going to hate me."Song pushed up her sleeve, and activated her Gauntlet. "Let's go, Aclaraung."
IC-Aclaraung:Aclaraung broke his mental contact with Arketh and Kopraga, doing the same with Song's for their protection. He jumped down to the bottom of the building, where Song quickly came out and jumped on Aclaraung's back."Ready?" He growled back at Song.OOC: Minor bunny, but meh. This'll make it cooler.
OOC:
IC: Mars looked at Kal with a slight smirk. She stretched again, cracking her knuckles."Why ask me, shrink? There's a psych profile on me in the CHI database," The 'matoran' pointed out. "Much more convenient for th' both of us if ya read it."IC-Kal:Kal shook his head. "That's not what I meant," he said, his smile dropping slightly as he proved Mars's suspicions correct. "I want to know about your personality, what makes you tic. I said tell me about yourself, not your history."
IC: Song"Yep." Song drew three cards from her Gauntlet.OOC: Greel, select the cards she drew, if you please.
IC: Blacklight / New Metru-NuiBlacklight showed Arketh the image of a grand mountain top on an isolated island, a swirling disc of shadows extending from its peak and blotting out the sun."Reach out with your powers... cover the skies of this city in darkness, and wrap us in the darkness."-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC-Kal:"I don't want a bloody psych profile, Mars," Kal growled, dropping his smile. "I want to hear it from you and straight from you, I don't want to know what some random agent thinks of you." He glared over at Mars, ignoring her lack of clothing."Now, tell me about yourself. If you do, I might just throw in a few extra Tahu Burgers."
IC: Mars smirked in response. She crossed her legs and sat up, putting hands to the back of her head.So he's not all smiles and sunshine after all...Heh."I like food, missions, and sleep. I don't like people who don't appreciate that stuff and who don't let me have my guns," She said with a pointed glare at a passing doctor. "I don't care much about much. I like to nickname people."Mars leaned back a little, reclining into her arms. She sighed."Anything else, shrink?"
OOC: Krayzikk: How about: Arm Blade, Blast Shot, and Blast Shield?IC: New Metru NuiFeeling the two exit his mind, Arketh sprung into action, bringing Kopraga's wish to life. He raised a skeletal arm, lifting Blacklight into the air; a plate of black energy formed in the sky above, expanding over the area. Any onlookers would see a cloud of Shadow power spreading from the mansion's roof, extending its reach to create a great field of darkness to consume them.Meanwhile, Arketh surveyed the area around him to find his opponents. In his last battle, he relied only on standard Shadow abilities, but now he wielded the mighty Blacklight and powers within it. With his new, increased elemental capabilities, Arketh would slaughter the Toa and Mystix... and then the city.
IC-Kal:"I'm not a shrink. I just wanted to make sure of something before I grabbed you for what I needed." He nodded slightly, marking down something that Mars had let out but not said, something he doubted she even noticed. He then stood, pulling the Matoran up as well."Grab your armour," he said. "Your guns are going to be in my office, and I just changed your bandage." He wasn't joking on the last, at all.
OOC: Perfect.IC: SongHer face a mask of stone, Song activated the cards."Alright, Aclaraung. Let's do this."
IC-Aclaraung:"Gladly," Aclaraung growled, jumping in the air and flapping his wings, gaining lift and coming up until he was level with Arketh, gliding in a large circle around the being.IC-Edubard:Edubard growled, jumping out of the Thornatus and running into New Metru-Nui."Alright, Watcher," he said, "See that thing up there? He's a designated enemy of you, me, and the state. Help me kill him."
IC: Mars blinked. Then she let out a light chuckle. So he's beginning to find that I can't sense such a touch, She thought with another smirk. Not like it matters. No one can guess, and no one knows the truth on board, The 'matoran' remarked.I made sure of that personally."So th' lohrak speaks," She sighed. "Guess I'll be heading to the female barracks to get that stuff, then."Mars turned. Then she looked back to Kal with yet another small smirk."That is, assuming they haven't been wrecked while I was gone."
IC: Watcher, Auress (NMN, Citadel Tower):"Ah, yes, should I sound the alarms then?" The AI asked, partially rhetorically, "I just asked Toa Torch on his opinions of such measures."Auress was left in the Citadel, Song had never gotten her tea, and run off after talking to herself. Song stepped out of the room they were in, and then looked around, trying to find her way around.
IC: New Metru NuiOnce he spotted Song and Aclaraung spring into the air, Arketh willed deadly bolts of Shadow energy to stab down from the darkness overhead at the two. It appeared very similar to a lightning storm; all that was missing was the thunder.
IC-Kal:"I don't know what you're suggesting," Kal said, holding up his hands. "But I can assure you they're still there." He gave Mars a smirk of his own, before leaning against the wall of the hallway outside of the infirmary, where he was planning to wait for the 'Matoran'. He closed his eyes, nodding his head in time to a song as he thought.IC-Aclaraung:Aclaraung ducked and dodged the shadow bolts, quickly turning in the air as Song held on to his neck so as not to fall off.He growled at Arketh, releasing a blast of flame as he did so, the flickering fingers of the brightly burning liquid flame licking at the edges of Arketh's being.
OOC: Song the Dragon Rider.IC: SongSong raised an arm, and fired at Arketh. "Aclaraung, light 'im up!"
IC: Mars shrugged. "Whatevs." Then she walked off.The 'matoran' returned within a few minutes. She had donned her typical garb, back to sporting her external armor and casual jeans and tee."So, guns? I don't think I quite caught your office's loc," Mars said with a hint of a sardonic upturning of the lips.
IC-Kal:"Follow after me," Kal said, walking off. He quickly used his mask to go up a few flights of stairs, waited for Mars, and then set off again. He came to his office quickly-just a normal room, with a bed, couch, desk, chair, and computer. Nothing special, bright, or garish-his personality more than made up for it.He sat down on his couch, gesturing to the bed where Mars's weapons were.
IC: Blacklight / New Metru-NuiBlacklight imagined the duo teleporting away from the flames, then performing an aerial charge on their opponents - with the right bloodlust in Arkeths mind, the powers of fear would go into effect, halting the two assailants then and there.-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Mars locked and loaded automatically. She didn't even nod after taking a second to check each weapon, merely loading it and strapping it on. A minute later, she turned around. The 'matoran' studied the spartan room as she spoke."Orders?"
IC-Kal:"No orders, really," Kal said, waving off the comment. "I just want to make sure that you're willing to defend New Metru-Nui at any cost from anybody. Including, if needed, me, Krayzikk, Esao, Gust, or Torch." He looked over to Mars. "And I mean with deadly force. If you have to kill us to keep New Metru-Nui safe, do so."He sighed, leaning his head back slightly. "Actually, I really want to make sure you know you're willing to do that. So, Mars, are you truly willing to kill any of us to protect New Metru-Nui? Do you know if you are or you aren't?"
IC: New Metru NuiArketh continued to follow Blacklight's guidence, stepping through a dimensional gateway to avoid Song's attack. It reopened in the sky (now darkening with the field of Shadow spreading across it), with the skeleton flying out, his flapping wings allowing him to charge at the pair. The crystal blade was poised to stab into their hearts, wisps of Shadow energy drifting around its tip for a more sinister appearance.
IC-Aclaraung:Aclaraung blasted flame into Arketh's face, obscuring the shadow-being's vision. When he could see again he'd notice that Aclaraung and Song had turned away quickly, avoiding the sword. Aclaraung growled, blasting more of his liquid fire in Arketh's direction.
IC: Mars turned to Kal. Her eyes were still lazy, but they now stared into his own with a sort of flint. The 'matoran' spoke once more in that same nonchalant tone. She could've been putting something on her tab at a bar."Oh, sure. Esao asked me th' same th' other day...Said 'Yeah'."A little test. Let's see what's going on in that brain of his...She folded her arms."I don't think th' question's whether I'm willing to kill you all to save the city. I think the question's whether giving that responsibility to a matoran with only a few implants and a lotta heat is a wise choice."
OOC: Lev, forgive me if I misunderstand how the fear power works.IC: SongWith great force of will, Song blocked the fear power from their kinds. Unfortunately, that meant her mental powers were occupied. When Arketh appeared and stabbed, Song caught the attack on her arm shield as Aclaraung wheeled away."Screw you, demon."With the other arm, Song fired point blank into Arketh's chest.
IC-Kal:"You could say that," Kal said, nodding boredly with what Mars was saying. "You could also say the question is whether or not you are what you say you are, and I'm just trying to learn the truth. Maybe this whole group doesn't exist, and you have nothing to worry about unless you lie about something." Kal looked over at Mars, a bemused sort of look on his face."There are a lot of things the question could actually be, lass," the Toa of Plasma said. "Maybe I'm wondering you're willing to take the risk of picking one question over another."
OOC: @ Krayzikk; When you see it, it goes into effect immediately. Think what happens to even the Toa Nuva when Tuhrahk uses it in MoL, or Jaller. It's not strong enough to be lethal, but you aren't going anywhere.Of course, it could be worse if you have a heart problem that makes stress deadly.IC: Blacklight / New Metru-NuiBlacklight pulsed with red energy, and willed a chitinous shell of shadow to form over Arketh, to absorb the incoming attacks. At the moment, Arketh was too concentrated on the battle - they all were - to prevent Blacklight from tapping into his powers in self-defense.And the blade, so sharp that even Mystix scales were but butter, continued towards the Psionics using Toa.-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Mars shrugged. "Wonder all ya want," She said."You see; as my opinion has it in this world, there are two kinds of people. There are people who don't engage in the creation of false dichotomies think about the meaning of life, the purpose of the universe, what truth is, why we're here, reasons why we can't prove we're here, th' possibility that this is all some sick-twisted game in a sick-twisted story of higher stuff played out by a bunch of bored people with nothing better to do."There was a brief pause. Then she shrugged again."And then there are the people who decide they don't give a dropping about philosophical dung and do stuff right now."I think ya know which camp I belong to," Mars continued. "I want th' facts, not th' philosophy. Facts say to me that I probably can't kill ya if ya can change my bandages without me knowing."
IC: New Metru NuiArketh gave an unworldly snarl of his own, going along with Blacklight's self defenses as he added to the sword's attack. Drawing from the last of the lightning-like Shadow bolts, the skeleton forced them to bounce off the rooftop and converge at his sword's razor tip. The zig-zaging lashes of energy caused bits of the roof to fragment off as they were reflected and raced towards Blacklight's blade, joining in by surrounding it to kill Aclaraung and Song.
IC: HrunjaHrunja fired a massive blast of plasma at the Nektann.
OKC: Hardy-har har. :PIC: SongSong could feel her heart begin to beat erratically. She had much practice dealing with emotions, so she retained slight mobility. But not enough to stop the blade.Instead, Song focused on the blade, and willed it to stop.As Song's heart thumped in her chest, a battle of wills began. To see if she could force the blade to stop.
IC-Aclaraung:Aclaraung sent a quick thought to Song to hold on, as he quickly did a climb and flip from all of the bolts of shadow, allowing them to convene at the blacklight's tip as he launched another blast of liquid flame at Arketh, the burning fuel clinging to the shadow-armour and cloak of Arketh, continuing to burn long after they should.IC-Kal:Kal looked at Mars for a long moment, seemingly thinking, his eyes looking less at her and more into her and through her. Then he broke into a sudden smile, hugging Mars quickly."Good answer," he said to the 'Matoran.' His smile couldn't get any wider. "You're perfect."
IC: Mars blinked. She was at a loss for words. She seemed to be in that state an awful lot lately. The 'matoran' hugged back. Her hold was awkward, more accustomed to holding Esao's frame than any others'."Yeah, whatever."
OOC:Auto-hit. We need to immediately kill his character....IC: Blacklight / New Metru-NuiThe eldritch terror within the sword merely laughed as the dragon pulled Song away from its sight, ignoring the mental commands to stop."Call upon the darkness, and release the void upon them!"OOC: AKA shadow hadoken.IC: Ezraftin / Tech TowerEzraftin could see it. Tubes... green liquids... a robot, a shaft, falling... coming upon the SCPU.... reaching for the opening...... and it stopped. Was the Mask there, or...?Impossible to know yet. The Mask of Clairvoyance stopped at that moment, and Ezraftins vision returned to reality. He stood up, the mask once more inactive, and saw the leg frame of the Nektann sitting there... before collapsing, its melted center making holes in the ground. He panted, and approached the CPU terminal of the production factory with his axe. "No more computer..."He rose the weapon. "... no more new Vahki."Swinging it down, he cleaved it in two. The production factories began to deactivate, as no new information could be sent to them. Now to make it to the CKC...-Toa Levacius Zehvorlaunched another blast of liquid flame at Arketh, the burning fuel clinging to the shadow-armour and cloak of Arketh, continuing to burn long after they should.
OOC: I said the fire itself was burning, not that it was burning through or harming the character, now did I? I don't know whether or not the armour and cloak are flame proof, Lev, that's why I left it vague.IC-Aclaraung:Aclaraung growled, blasting a gust of air over at Arketh and Kopraga, trying to shake them and make them fall from the air.IC-Kal:"Alright, Mars," Kal said, still smiling, "Head off and eat some more Taco Burgers or something. Technically, I'm the one who is still paying for them."
IC: SongSong's face was pale. This was a threat beyond what she had dealt with before. Then she grit her teeth, and closed her eyes. The fear operated on sight or touch. And she was depriving herself of both. Now, she saw with her mind. Read her enemy's mind, read his brain's signals to his body, and used that to find his blows. Her heart beat erratically in her chest. She aimed, and fired off several shots where she knew Arketh was.She used her telekinetic abilities to try and slam him into the roof below.
OOC: Btw, they got Big Macs in Scotland?I Expy'd them for Tahu Burgers.IC: Mars withdrew from the hug as soon as she had joined it. She smirked slightly."Naw, that's a good enough breakfast. If ya really have no orders, I'll just hit the training area."She sighed."Makes the time until sleep go by faster that way."
