IC: [Quada/Arkrak]"Hi guys!" said Quada cheerfully, returning to the group, with Ferrosey following. "I made a new friend! He's my new fish friend!"---"You think something's happened to Chronn?"
IC: ChronnLightning lanced from my hand, arching and humming loudly. Eventually, I knew he was going to strike my foe, then it would all be over for the being who dared to face me.IC: Durim"Ah, there is our fish loving fourth member. Now our group is once again complete. Perhaps it would be an excellent time to continue our travels now, toward Ta-Koro. Unless anyone has a reason we should not travel there." He paused for less than a second. "No, very well then. Let's get moving."
IC: Incommodo & ReichenbachReichenbach dodged the next attack as well.Creating a field of silence around his own head, he filled the room with a high-frequency sound wave, enough to leave Chronn unable to fight for a few moments."Nah, I'm sure he's fine." Incommodo said.OOC: That timing was hilarious. XD
IC: ChronnMy hands clutched my ears in pain from the sound. Reich probably thought it would bring me down... he was wrong. I was not going to fall to the power of sound. Lightning was superior, I was superior. He would regret ever coming to my office.
IC: Reichenbach"Listen to me, I do not want to fight you. I simply want to talk." Reichenbach increased the frequency slightly.
IC: ChronnI could not hear a word he was saying. He was an cool dude to think I could hear with my ears screaming. But it snapped my mind just enough from the pain. A wave of lightning lurched towards him, spreading from wall to wall, roof to floor. If I was going down, he was coming with me.
IC: Sulov Koskium took a slow stride forwards. Stopping, he knocked once on Whenua's door...
IC: ReichenbachLuckily for Reichenbach, Chronn had left the door open. He ducked back into it, avoiding the lightning. He then made his voice significantly louder than it should have been, so that Chronn would be able to hear it, before speaking again."I do not want to fight you. I just want to talk."
IC: ChronnWhen he left to dodge my attack, he lost his own on me. My ears were ringing and I heard a blur or sound coming from the fool. It was probably an insult... and I was going to make him pay for it.
IC: ReichenbachReichenbach, noticing Chronn still hadn't heard him, used his Mahiki to make the words 'I just want to talk' appear in the air, hovering over the detective.
IC: ChronnI shouted something horribly foul at the being when I saw the message, though I could not even hear it myself, only ringing. I charged into the next room, dagger drawn and ready to kill the being with great violence.
IC: ReichenbachReichenbach stepped aside as Chronn charged into the room, sending another sonic wave at him, and showing more words.Sit and listen. I will not repeat myself, Thedar.
IC: ChronnI winced at the sound... it hurt like getting a knife stabbed into my skull. But I was not going to let this fool think he had won. Ignoring the words, I created a bubble of lightning, quickly closing in on him with the intent to shock him violently and painfully.Problem was, it took concentration, leaving an opening for attack.
OOC: Italics here are thoughts.IC: ReichenbachBubble of lightning, closing in. The world around Reichenbach, from his perception, seemed to slow down as the bubble flickered into existence around him.Plan: Send a sonic attack at Chronn. High-medium level, enough to make him lose his concentration. Bubble will disappear. I will be safe to move forwards, and force him into an agreement.Problems: Chronn has proven he has amazing endurance. Attack may not have full intended effect. Solution: Increase frequency to just below what would knock him unconscious and/or leave him permanently deaf. Bubble may not disappear. Solution: Improbable, seems to be taking up a lot of concentration. I may not complete the attack in time. Solution: Do it now.Reichenbach unleashed the wave of sound at Chronn. It would be just enough to leave him half-conscious and unable to concentrate. In fact, it was slightly above what would do that, but Reichenbach didn't mind, as it wouldn't knock Chronn unconscious.
IC: ChronnThe blast stuff with sheer agony as it force me to the floor in pain. Everything seemed sort of blurred and pain was the only thing remaining solid in my mind...But the electrical field now out of control, struck out swiftly at the closest metal object, Reich, from all sides.
IC: ReichenbachReichenbach flattened himself with his Mahiki, then threw himself through the lightning. It scorched him slightly, and there was some pain, but it wasn't as bad as not much of him had been exposed to it at one time. He then became his normal shape again.
IC: ChronnThe ringing echoed in my mind like a roar. The lightning was intended to be far more powerful that that, even if only part of it hit him. But my lost control of it seemed to be working against me. With as much as I could, I sent electricity suddenly along the floor, with leg stunning power.
IC: ReichenbachReichenbach quickly replaced his arms with wings, jumping up and using the wings to hover out of harm's way.
IC: LekuaAs the group began to head towards Whenua's hut, Lekua was seized by a sudden urgency, as though the importance of their mission had instantly increased tenfold. "Perhaps it would be wise to ask-consult Onepu first? I doubt Stannis has had enough time to find-gain an audience-meeting with the Turaga anyway." OOC: After all, it's been less than an hour IC since they split up.Also, Tanma, why does Dece keep calling "Amaya" a "he"? You do know that in this world any Matoran can be any gender? It would hardly be unusual to see a female plantlife Matoran.
IC: InvisibleInvisible decided that, if he was to search for Taipu, he may be better off heading towards Onepu.Reaching Onepu's hut, Invisible knocked on the door.
IC: ChronnBut the lightning flash faded in an instant, as another suddenly weakly struck out at him, fast as lightning, the lightning was.
IC: ReichenbachLuckily for him, once he noticed the second attack was over, Reichenbach stopped flapping and dropped back to the floor, leaving Chronn's attack useless.
OOC: How tall do you think this building is? XDIC: ChronnAnd as soon as he hit the ground, a dagger was swung weakly at his ankle, in an attempt to bring him to the ground.
OOC: It's height is over 9000!... Sorry, I had to say that.IC: [Arkrak/Quada]"So Commodum," said Arkrak, using the false name he had given his friend. "How do you feel about your brother's death?"They were in earshot of several other beings, so he would have to be more 'detective-ish'.---"Oooh, Ta-Koro!" said Quada cheerfully. "Wonder if they have fish there."
OOC: Enough. It's tall enough.IC: ReichenbachReichenbach jumped over the dagger, then moved back a few paces, before crouching down. Removing the sound in the room, Chronn should have been able to hear what hewas saying over the ringing."I think it's time we had a bit of a chat, don't you?"IC: Incommodo"Bad." Incommodo replied. He was only a good actor when he wanted to be.
IC: Durim"Perhaps they will Quada, perhaps they will." He commented boredly, waiting on the input of the other members of the group. IC: ChronnRemoving the sound did nothing to help him, my ears were ringing, not picking up outside noise.
OOC: Haven't posted as Vilok in forever...IC: Vilok"Ta-Koro it is. I might have spent a lot of time in seclusion to forget things but I do remember that the village of fire was brutally hot."
IC: ReichenbachRecognising that Chronn could not hear him, Reichenbach made the words 'I'll be back' appear in the air, before leaving, grabbing a blank tablet and a stylus, and handing them to Chronn. He then wrote 'I think we should have a chat'.OOC: He read none of the tablets, FYI. He just took a blank one.
IC: Durim"Incredibly hot, enough to make you feel as though your cooking alive inside of your armor." He commented with a nod. "To Ta-Koro it is, and let's make it a father short trip, I do not really feel like being cooked for any longer than I have to..." He started walking off, heading towards the the pathway to Ta-Koro.OOC: I know, the other room is locked, so he's stuck with just a blank tablet. XDIC: ChronnI attempted to stab Reich's foot with my knife, refusing the writing tools.
OOC: yes, and also, we never did say that we actually left the... wherever we were... but whatever.IC:"You do have a point; let's wait a bit before we see Stannis. I guess we could see if Onepu knows anything. He should be in or near the Ussalry stables.. but other than that I have no ideas; Onu-koro is nothing new to me" Nichou said. "And I assume that all of us want to do that, but if any of you have any suggestions, I'm open to them. let's go" And so on they walked to the Ussalry stables.......OOC: I'll PM nujusorry about my abrupt ending to the conversation, but I know ooc that toa balta #3 really wants to try to save taipu; and I have nothing against that.IC: LekuaAs the group began to head towards Whenua's hut, Lekua was seized by a sudden urgency, as though the importance of their mission had instantly increased tenfold. "Perhaps it would be wise to ask-consult Onepu first? I doubt Stannis has had enough time to find-gain an audience-meeting with the Turaga anyway."OOC: After all, it's been less than an hour IC since they split up.Also, Tanma, why does Dece keep calling "Amaya" a "he"? You do know that in this world any Matoran can be any gender? It would hardly be unusual to see a female plantlife Matoran.
OOC: I have realized that keeping my characters spread over several fast-moving topics leaves me with little idea of how to use them. I'll have to move Mita to meet with either the ILS or my other character in Ko-Koro I think.
Sorry if I have ignored anyone who's tried to interact with her in this topic (very unlikely), but I've simply been unable to keep up.IC (Mita):Putting on a good show was usually fairly easy for Mita, but the caverns of Onu-Koro were too damp and dark for her tastes. Toa of Sonics finished her song and looked around for any spectators, of which there were none. That was the final nail in the coffin for her, and she slung her guitar over her shoulder before moving on into the tunnels again. She reflected over her past performances. The cave system led all over the island, with the mining tunnels extending to Ta- and Le-Koro while two others reached the edge of the Motara Desert and the frosty plains of Ko-Wahi, respectively. The village of water hadn't been too welcoming to her music, and Mita hadn't gotten very far in Ta-Koro either. Since Ko-Koro seemed like a pretty silent place, Mita therefore decided to travel to the most musical village of all: Le-Koro.OOC: Mita to Le-Koro.
Ooc: The following is the product of a jam session between Nuju Metru and I.
Ic: Stannis had spent enough time talking with the locals, making idle chit chat here and there, not feeling any of those he spoke with were in the know of anything remotely useful for his quest for Taipu. All he had gathered so far was that he wasn't in the village. Not much to go on. Thinking it was about time, he finally approached Turaga Whenua's hut and rang the little bell outside to signal his presence."One moment," Whenua called in answer to the bell. The short Turaga wrapped up the structural integrity report he had been poring over and made his way to the door. He opened it to see Stannis outside. The Turaga gestured for his visitor to come in.Stannis entered, wordlessly nodding in gratitude for the audience to the turaga as he did so. Whenua offered him a seat, and he took it. Stannis had the look of business, and since managing mines was as businesslike as any other vocation on Mata Nui, Whenua, arguably a businessman himself, picked up on that attitude quickly. "I'm Stannis," he finally said. "I… hope you weren't too bored," he said, glancing at the report on the table."Bored?" Whenua replied, a slight grim smile crinkling his face, "I could not be bored. There have been reports of an attack on Po-Koro, and I worry for my friends there."An attack? You mean the one that we lost Hafu in?" Stannis asked. The news hadn't reached him yet."No, brother," Whenua replied, rubbing his temples, "A much worse one. A band of six Rahkshi, the sons and deadliest servants of Makuta, made an assault on the Koro."Stannis was aghast, and while his temper flared inwardly at his ignorance and inability to do anything to help the city of stone, he nevertheless was grateful that he and his people left in time. But an attack right after another? To the same village? Perhaps the Rahkshi were cleaning the mess previously left -- or worse. "If you don't mind my curiosity, Turaga, what did they do, or… what casualties were suffered?""Many dead, many more injured. A number of brave beings held them off from greater destruction, but most of them were killed or maimed by the foul things.""This is all very terrible, but at least we can take pride in the fact that there are still brave people willing to sacrifice all for Mata Nui," Stannis said in a bittersweet tone."Indeed. Unity," Whenua agreed. "Is there something in particular you came to discuss with me, friend?" The Turaga appraised his visitor."Yes, actually, there is something I had in mind," Stannis said. "See, I have a puzzle, and it involves many different kinds of pieces. Temples, rahi, doors that won't open, and water that kills, that sort of thing. I have a team of fellow matron beside me who are just as enthusiastic about the puzzles as I am, and like me, they'd face a Rahkshi if it meant seeing the puzzle to completion. But the pieces to this puzzle are hard to come by, if you know what I mean. This is like our version of the quest for the golden masks, if you will," Stannis explained, hoping the old reference would help jog the Turaga's memory."Puzzles are dangerous," Whenua said stonily. "The Po-Koro attacks proved that much.""But the stakes are too high to just walk away, Turaga," Stannis replied with a determined tone. "If this puzzle isn't completed, all hope is lost, and if it can only be finished on my deathbed, I will have it so. The danger is a part of the journey, not a closed gate.""What do you think I can give you in the way of puzzles?" Whenua asked warily."Direction. Guidance… Hope," Stannis responded in turn. "You know many things, secrets old and new, and I feel you know what I'm looking for," he said, eying Whenua intently, his intense resolve manifesting in a warm breeze that filled the room. "I know you can help me and I know you care. This age needs its heroes, but its heroes need a clue."Ooc: Stay tuned! Next up: Stannis and Whenua make omelets together!emperorwhenua: Is Whenua in his hut?bznuju: indeedbznuju: where else would he be after allemperorwhenua: I dunno, making house calls to the Fikou Fungi Farm.bznuju: bu dum tsht
OOC: A Vortixx with an evil plan requires the services of an extraordinary merchant who is able to procure materials of an explosive nature!IC:A few hours after leaving the inn again, Kohra was back in the markets, browsing the stalls of the merchants. In earnest, this time. She needed to find one that had what she needed. Her guide had told her as much during her nightly meditation. Why he insisted on this...honesty, she didn't know. Because, if you steal it, the will investigate the crime. And they will find out it wasn't a Matoran. What use are you when your new friend and his friends learn the truth about you?Kohra sighed. Sometimes, she wished her dark passenger had a physical form, just to show him what hardship felt like. And she could swear she heard him chuckle at that in the back of her mind. And she did not like the feeling that evoked in her.As far as her Toa companion was concerned, she had not seen any sign of Clo'on since then. The Vortixx wasn't sure what had happened to him. She would have liked to pretend she didn't care either, but that wasn't true. And she did care. But maybe he had just been sidelined by something, maybe he was off of her back for now, which was good. It would buy her time. After all, Toa were drawn to help everywhere they could. It made for their more annoying quality of sticking their unknowing little noses in everybody's business. On the other hand, what if something had indeed happened to him? No, the Toa of stone was fine. She shook her head, focusing back on her task. He was fine, and she needed to find the next element of her plan. If only there weren't so many artists around, trying to sell statuettes and home-decorations. Frustrated, the Vortixx moved on to the next stall.
IC: ReichenbachReichenbach moved back again, the blade narrowly missing.Words appeared in the air again:Thedar, I will not ask again.
IC: ChronnThe fact that he thought he could tell me what to do enraged me even further. He was pushing his luck to the extremes. He could dodge every single on of my attacks while I took most of his, that would be impossible. I started readying another lightning jolt as best I could.
IC: ReichenbachYou had your chance.Reichenbach created a field of silence around himself, while filling the room with high-frequency sound powerful enough to knock most beings (but perhaps not Chronn) unconscious.
IC: Sulov Koskium took a slow stride forwards. Stopping, he knocked once on Whenua's door...
IC(Gavarm)
Gavarm was deep in thought while chewing on one of his cigars. What were they to do now that one of their own was missing? Find him or carry on about their normal lives? The Matoran decided that all of that could wait. Now they had business to attend to."What are we doing here?" Gavarm asks, suddenly shocked upon seeing where they were. The Onu-Matoran had been so lost in thought, he hadn't even realized he stopped his Ussul; let alone outside of Whenua's hut.-Mef Man
IC: Sulov turned to Gavarm solemnly. "I'm delifurring my rreporrt. Ju arr dizmizt."
IC(Gavarm)
The Onu-Matoran slowly nods his head before looking around the village. But, what will I do exactly?-Mef Man
Ooc: Oh, right, Hiemalis...Ic: The frigid toa finally placed the little matoran soldier on a pile of stones and removed his facial mask of ice. His arms and legs, however, were still fused. This part of the cave, however, seemed almost like a sort of home, with a straw mat that looked like a bed, a chest next to it, and a lantern that, while giving light, gave no heat. Closer insection revealed that it was but a lightstone in a clear jar. The current primary source of light, however, came from a hole in the cieling, almost right above where Kol was laid down. Snow drifted down gently from the opening, revealing that this little abode was somewhere in Ko-Wahi. The cave itself wasn't big, barely high enough for Hiemalis to stand and walk about, and it was very cold, though that could have been due to the toa just as much as the environment.Hiemalis sat down and ate something, not offering it to his captive. "You're a soldier," he said, more a statement than a question, so Kol remained silent. His voice rumbled like a distant rolling avalanche, even as he spoke the familiar Matoran tongue. "Matoran soldiers believe in Unity. But where are your friends now?" he asked, his face unforgiving and void as he looked up at saw right through the matoran's soul.
