IC:
"Alright," John shrugged. He looked in the mirror at himself. "I look like a glorified drug dealer like this, we might get arrested anyway." he grinned now, it was quite feral.
"I'm not a kid anymore Daken, but fine I'll order what you want. You kind of missed out on my childhood."
IC:
"Yeah, well. Babies are boring. So are toddlers. And pre-teens. And teens."
-Tyler
IC:
"Can't argue with that," John shrugged again as he slipped on a pair of black Vans. "Where too then?"
IC:
"Does it matter? Some deli. New York's full of them. Any of 'em can make a good sandwich. Then it's off to the mall for some new clothes. You're nowhere near as pretty as you used to be, but if we can dress you up right maybe people will think you're a boxer. Or you started a fight club. I hear kids love to do that for fun these days." Akihiro shrugged to himself, baffled that anyone would prefer duking it out in the high school bathroom or in their parent's living room instead of a good old fight to the death. John looked less enthused by the current topic; Daken smiled winningly and threw his arm around his brother's once-broad shoulders. He could still feel the hint of bone and pulled muscles under the skin and thin t-shirt. "So. I'm told you like rap. More of a metal guy myself, but I'm sure we could find some kind of radio station."
Their car of the day was a Porsche Panamera, a four-door sedan that was painted the same steel color of John's eyes. Daken threw open the passenger's side door as if it were a beater he'd pushed out of a junkyard and John slipped through it into shotgun. His older brother was more theatrical; he leapt up onto the hood and paced across it rather than walk around the car. He pulled open the front left door as heedlessly as he had the door on the right and closed it behind him. "Piece of gum? You should chew some gum. Works your jaw muscles. Your jawline could use all the help it could get, bud."

IC: Ashley
But not all was sane within the hotel that Dallas and Nicole slept. The faint sound of yelling, screaming, and "NO YOU CAN'T RIDE THAT...PLANT IN HERE!" echoed through their master suite. It didn't seem to be their problem though, after all it wasn't like the disturbance was coming inside their room...
SWOOSH! The door burst open, something hopped inside and then slammed the door shut. It was big, massive, round, and orange? A smaller figure seemed to be riding on top of it, a much cuter and not all that sober figure.
"I am...Johnny Pumpkinseed! Rawr...." Ashley had a bottle in her hand, which she started to drink from, before falling off the giant pumpkin and crashing onto the floor. "Grrkkkk...."
IC:
Dallas stirred and sat up groggily. "Ash? Ash! Hey. What's with the, uh...the...car?"
-Tyler
OOC: accidental double post delete
IC: Ashley
The pumpkin bounced a few times, apparently offended at being called a car.
Ashley meanwhile was trying to make snow angels in the carpet. "It runs off organic fuel..."
IC:
Jennifer nodded to Tokiomi before moving forward. She moved as slowly and silently as possible while sticking close to the walls, her yellow eyes flashing constantly behind her glasses while she searched for traps. She suddenly slid to a stop when she could make out the bodies of the two Hydra agents moving away from her down the corridor.
She aimed her gun at the two soldiers and cocked her head at the others, silently asking if they should attack. She then pulled the trigger on her silenced pistol five times at the back of one of the soldiers. If we can take them down maybe we can steal those uniforms... put a few of us under cover...
OOC: Welp now that I'm back from vaykaykay I think it's time to get this moving.
Staff IC:
The other guard turned immediately as his comrade's steps faltered before collapsing on the ground, but it was too late for him as well. Krystal had swiftly, yet silently come upon him, grabbing his head and twisting it effortlessly. With a sickening crack he was dead, falling down upon the other guard.
Krystal began to say something, but was completely cut off by insane, feminine laughter that suddenly filled the corridor. Everyone in Team Sneaky Monkey was on high alert, but not even Krystal with her superior hearing could tell where the sound came from.
WHOOSH! What was once a simple breeze was suddenly a gale force wind, blowing through the corridor like a wind tunnel. The SHIELD agents raised their arms to protect their faces as the winds blew random debris from other rooms at them. The wind was quite loud, but the agents could just barely hear pained cries of agony coming from up ahead, HYDRA soldiers? The cries suddenly stopped, the wind continued.
Then there was a howl from Krystal though it was ended abruptly as Krystal went flying into the nearby wall, collapsing on the ground. Where she once stood was an armored figure, clad in metal of green and yellow, her figure suggesting she was female. Her mask prevented them from seeing her face but she seemed almost...curious by the way she just stood there, looking at them. The wind continued to press upon the agents, but did not seem to affect her.
IC Tokiomi
Tokiomi reflexively began his mental assault, not so concerned with finding out any useful information about this entity but more out of a... Primal, if you will, desire to absorb the figure's memories. Rather than trying to copy any data he found, he simply grabbed hold of what he could and greedily tugged at it, at the potential expense of the figure's mind.
NPC Tank
The tank slowly but steadily began to rise as Vivus's ramp lifted at an increasingly greater angle. The driver started to panic and began to try to back the tank off the ramp.
IC
The taxi finally arrived at the mall and Lilliana basically leapt out of the car to escape her back seat companions. "...I'm going to go shopping..." She gently handed a small paper to Tali. "That's my number... Call me if you need anything." With that she briskly began to walk off into the mall.
It had been a while since she had been out and about... And it felt amazing. She actually smiled, a gentle and flowing smile, and a small spring returned in her step that hadn't been there for a long time.
IC:
Dallas scooted off Tali's lap and hopped out of the taxi with a flourish and an impatient flip of his hair. He gave Kristen and Tali cursory instructions to find him when they couldn't stall paying for the dress any longer and slipped off inside the mall. He lost sight of Lilliana when he took the escalator and she was lost in the thicket of people down below; all for the better. She might have actually called the cops on him. Dal kind of liked her.
There wasn't much on the second floor. A few clothing outlets (Dal had enough clothes to fit his closet, and some left over in Tali's) some food places, nothing of real interest. Dal was strolling past a hardware store when he saw it - a slide hammer, long and thin with a jet black handle. All the locks he could pick, the cars he could steal, the look on Lilliana's face...it was too much for the Ultimate X-Man. With a careful look around for any of the others, he grinned impishly and slipped through the entrance.

When Kristen finally was able to get out f the car, she gasped for breath and exclaimed something along the lines of "space!". Considering how the group had split up, Kristen was... More than slightly unsure what to do. She knew she aught to look about for dresses for the ball-gala-thing, but she had little knowledge of where she aught to go...
So using this crazy thing called her brain, Kristen decided to go and explore, trying to find... Anything, really.
IC: Through the iridescent bubble that was her forcefield, Persephone could see the tank wavering on one of its edges, teetering on the brink of toppling over. But then it started reversing, sliding down off Vivus' ramp to try and right itself.
Nope, couldn't be having that.
If Team Sneaky Monkey was going to be coming out of the base again they needed a clear exit route. One, preferably, with no tanks on it. And it wouldn't do to let Vivus' effort go to waste. Well, there was only one thing she could do...
She grabbed hold of Vivus, hoping that her hold wouldn't break his concentration, and started zooming forwards. Technically flying, but staying low to the ground. Going with all the acceleration she could muster, she rammed into the underside of the tank, forcefield hammering into it briefly before fizzling into nothing, dispersed by the punishment it had taken. That impact should help topple the tank right over, and Persephone was hoping it would act as cover until she could get her shields up and running again. Ideally she wanted to get airborne again, but she couldn't do that until she was sure Vivus was still in working order. She hoped he was. She was running out of tricks and wasn't sure she could escort him to safety and still have enough firepower to cover Sneaky Monkey's escape...
IC: TLAW-001 Vivus
Seeing the tank attempt to reverse and prevent from toppling over, Vivus frowned and attempted to push back the barrier in tandem to ensure that the incline would continue to raise. However, at that moment, Persephone grabbed the android, Vivus somehow maintaining the barrier despite his surprise. They slammed into the underside of the tank, which hopefully would finish what he had started. Mentally breathing a sigh of relief, Vivus stopped his attempt at making the shield. But to his horror, Vivus' systems were still dangerously overclocked. To make things worse, Persephone's forcefield had dissipated and the two were left defenseless for the moment. "What's the best way to burn off excess energy....." Vivus muttered, his mental processors racing to find a solution. "Tanks still around...." Vivus muttered, raising an arm in response. Using the leftover energy that he accumulated, Vivus fired off a massive charged bolt towards the side of a tank, hopefully knocking it on the side and out of the fight as well. If so, the two androids had one less enemy to deal with while they recovered...
OOC: Is there another tank or so left? If not, what other targets are there?
OOC: Sorry guys, was pulled away by other RPGs for a while. I am coming back to this at least until the base attack is over.
John Harken- Team Sneaky Monkey
IC: John had stayed upright, negating the force of the wind as it touched him. His eyes were darting all over the place, taking in the entire scene in less than a second.
Not willing to give the other being a chance to move, Harken opened fire with his P90. The volley of shots aimed in between the armored figures eyes.
Staff IC:
The moment John moved to fire, she moved. Despite the armor she wore she was surprisingly quick, really quick, she ducked as the agent opened fire, letting out a feral growl as she raised her hands out, a concentrated burst of wind hit John's center, propelling him backwards. She ran after him, a blade coming out her left gauntlet.
John Harken- Team Sneaking Monkey
IC: The sudden burst of wind had been too fast for him to negate. Even so, the agent was hardly out of the fight.
letting go of the gun in his hands, he let it drop to hang on its strap while his now open hands went to deal with the new problem. Slapping the armored hand with the blade, he directed all of its kinetic energy down in to the floor. Before his incredibly fast opponent could do anything else, John sent a kineticly charged fist at the armed female's head.
Staff IC:
John's fist connected with her head perfectly, sending her reeling backwards until she collapsed on the ground, the wind stopped. She seemed thoroughly dazed, shocked that the punch had managed to actually hurt, she'd never been hit quite like that...not since....
She let out a shriek...immediately followed by tremendous force of air, blasting out from all around her in every direction....it shook the corridor. "Stay away, stay away, stay away!"
OOC @Snelly: yo, um...
@TPTI+JiMing: two functioning tanks left counting the one Vivus just blasted. To save time, I'll say that everybody who's not stuck in the forest turned tail.IC Tokiomi
NPC Tanks
With all of their backup either having fled or too faraway to effectively help, it was just the tanks left. The two android's charge had taken the ranked tank out of the game, and Vivus's energy blast hit its target like a locomotive. Only one was left fully functioning, as it turned its guns on the robots. Men began woozily crawling out of the two disabled tanks, trying to get their bearings.
OOC @Snelly: yo, um...
OOC: Oh whoops I didn't know that was directed at her. XD I'll add something in my next post as her.
IC: Tasha - Stark Tower -
"I maxed out the score in Galaga." A voice said from behind Brando and James.
IC:
"Yes, as you keep reminding me," John sighed when Daken pointed out yet again the toll his torture had done to John's physical looks, even with his healing factor. I feel like he takes pride in what he did to me... like he wanted to beat the pretty out of me. John thought inwardly as he walked with Daken to the car.
"Yeah I like rap but I can listen to metal too." John said as he slid inside. He had to shake his head and chuckle as Daken stalked up the car before getting inside. John accepted the gum before popping it into his mouth and chewing.
"A lot of me could use all the help it can get." John said. He hated to admit but the thought of getting some new, fresh clothes sounded actually really... nice. Especially after all the John had been through recently.
IC:
Nicole sat up easily as groggily, she'd been cuddling with Dallas in her sleep.
"Huh? Ashley? How'd you find us here?"
IC:
Jennifer grimaced as her bullets met her mark and the first Hydra soldier crumpled to the ground, the next one to be silenced by Krystal.
When the gale-force wind struck Jennifer slid backwards across the floor, protecting her face with one arm. Small pieces of debris pinged off her glasses which she was happy to have on protecting her eyes.
"Who is she??" Jennifer attempted to yell over the wind.
That was when John opened fire at the green armored woman. He was sent flying backwards in response as the woman charged towards him with a blade. The two got in a scuffle where John seemed to distract her and the wind died down, only to have it come back again.
"This doesn't look good," Jennifer growled as she grabbed a large piece of debris out of the air and with her enhanced strength chucked it at the woman.
IC: Ashley
"I followedddddd my noise..." Ashley's hand shot straight up, and then fell back down with a thud. "...your scent was stronggggg....." Ashley hiccuped. "...the treesssssss told me the way..."
IC: TLAW-001 Vivus
As the tank Vivus shot as toppled over, the android mentally breathed a sigh of relief. Though the tank toppling left only one major threat in the area, Vivus was more relieved that everything was still in working order after the near fatal overclocking. A quick analysis showed that his circuitry was still slightly overheated, but that no major or irreparable damage had been done to the vital functions. "Still kicking...." Vivus muttered to Persephone, nodding as well to confirm he was still functioning. "A moment of rest to get rid of this overheating is all I need, for now...." the android muttered, before seeing the one remaining tank take aim and the men crawling out. "Watch out!" he warned.
John Harken- Team Sneaking Monkey
IC: That is not what I was expecting. It's almost like...
Any further thoughts were cut off by Jennifer tossing a rather large chunk of rubble at the woman. Deciding to go with his instinct, Harken grabbed one of his own and tossed it at the already in-flight piece. The normally impossible shot was made simple by his combination of powers, the pieces colliding and landing off to the side with a crunch.
Stepping forward through the wind, he moved between the woman and the rest of his team with a hand held out in a "Wait" motion. Vrouching down somewhat near to the unknown he asked,
"What is your name?"
OOC to prevent confusion, Tokiomi was trying to "eat" this person's memories but stopped when Harken ordered him to. Smelly, if she's going to talk to Harken, Tokiomi's out of her thoughts.
IC Tokiomi
At Harken's command, Tokiomi stopped tugging at the entity's mind and withdrew.
Staff IC:
The wind stopped as she tired out, staring at John from underneath her faceplate, she scrambled away backwards until she bumped into a wall and could go no further. It was clear she was afraid.
"I-I don't...have a name...don't hurt me..." She pleaded.
Meanwhile Krystal let out a whine as she regained consciousness, her head was killing her.
John Harken- Team Sneaky Monkey
IC: Silently cursing at himself in his mind John stayed where he was and spoke softly.
"I won't. I'm sorry about attacking you before, I thought you were an enemy." Rasing his voice slightly, he called out to the rest of the team.
"Somebody check on Krystal. I want to know how bad that knock on the head of hers was."
IC:
"I'll go check on her," Jennifer's glasses flashed in the light as she dashed over to Krystal who was slumped against the wall. "Krystal, are you okay? Can you stand?"
IC Tokiomi
"... Memory extraction failed. Insufficient-no, zero data to be extrapolated from." Tokiomi kept his rifle at ready; this person in front of them was still dangerous, even if she was potentially an ally. "You say you don't have a name," Tokiomi said without any inflection of hostility or friendliness in his voice. "Can you at least tell us what you are? And what you are doing here?"
Ic:
Sam, who had stayed out of the fight, eyed their former combatant suspiciously, "she's probably another one of their..."
She didn't finish the sentence. She didn't want to. Instead, she just coughed, trying to clear her throat. And her mind.
"Tokiomi. Lower your weapon. Please," she said, moving in front of him to offer a gentle hand to the woman, "hello there, I'm not with them. Just a tourist. They've been keeping you here, haven't they?"
Staff IC:
She looked at each one who spoke to her in turn, first Harken, then Tokiomi, and then Sam. "You're not like...the bad ones....you're not...HYDRA..." She shivered, for one so heavily armored she appeared quite vulnerable.
Eventually she nodded at Sam's question. "I...I've been here...forever...where did you come from?"
Krystal grunted, slowly standing up. "I'm...fine...just a little shaken up..."
John Harken- Team Sneaky Monkey
IC: Another one? And another aerokinetic to boot. Something tells me that they are connected.
"We came from outside this place. Hydra has no control where we live and we can take you there once we are finished with our mission here."
Staff IC:
"Outside..." She said it like it was something new. "I'd like to go there..." She put her hands on her helmet, after struggling for a bit she pried the helmet off and tossed it away. "They put me in this nasty suit and made me fall asleep...but I woke up for some reason and broke out of the cage..." Harken did a double take as he looked at the girl's face. She had raven hair, with green streaks, and emerald eyes. She looked identical to Aella, one of the girls he'd rescued.
John Harken- Team Sneaky Monkey
IC: That explains a surprising amount of questions.
If John's guess was correct they were dealing with clones. If grown in the facility they would never have known what the outside was like and it would seem as if they had amnesia. Whether the base was used for just cloning or a variety of things was still to be seen. If John had to guess he would have gone with a general human research lad due to Trinity's existence.
Despite the thoughts whirring through his mind, Harken's face never changed The closest he got was a small sigh before speaking. "We can bring you there, but we need to accomplish what we came here for first."
Staff IC:
"What are you trying to accomplish? Can I help?"
John Harken- Team Sneaky Monkey
IC: "Take this place over or find out as much as possible if we are unable to do the former, simply snatch all we can from the computers and book it. And yes, I'm sure you could help. We could use somebody with talents like yours."
IC:
Blood.
Everything in the world besides that one drop of crimson disappeared. Sierra growled, feeling a strange desire to rip the girl in front of her to pieces. Who was she, again? A friend?
It didn't matter. She crouched, preparing to spring.
Staff IC:
"Computers..." She looked nervous as she said it. "...that's where he is...the doctor..."
