IC: Raptor

"Oh, hey Revenge, what's up?"

IC: Revenge-Hallways

"Oh well, nothing much," Revenge replied reluctantly.  "I was just going to my room.  I've been practicing for the talent show."

OOC: Aliteration is awesome!

IC: Raptor

"Cool, I haven't really decided what I'm doing besides Rahking out my drum set- I've spent a lot of time building it. Wanna see it?"

IC: Bullseye/Library ---> Halls

He stop reading and decided to walk through the halls.

OOC: Bullseye is open to interaction.

IC: (Torch/Refectory)

"So...have you been feeling any...urges to, y'know, burn stuff recently?"

A brief look of bliss passed the red and charcoal coloured rahkshi's face.

"Oh, only...occasionally. I content myself with staring at my lighter..." Torch replied dreamily.

The rahkshi - known as Spike - shuffled his papers nervously. "Yes...I noticed you did that for some time..."

"Two hours, I think, was the last time." The Fire Resistance rahk still had that look on his face, of a slight detachment from the real world. It was unnerving.

"So...do you think your...sessions helped at all?" the Shattering rahk opposite asked.

Torch thought for a moment, then said: "They helped me hate people with toothpicks, yes."

Spike didn't want to know.

"Anyway...I'll, um, see ya round, then...I'm here if ya need me..."

Torch smiled, but there was something deeply disturbing about it. If you looked into his eyes, you could see the demons looking back...

OOC: Torch is open for interaction in the Refectory. The pyromaniac has arrived 

IC:Rider

The fist hit him clean in the face. Rider threw his knee at Stronghold.

IC: Exxan - Refectory. 

Exxan reached the refectory, disappointingly seeing no sign of Mahrika. But he hadnt eaten the last time he'd come here, so he decided to get himself some of that tasteless slop and eat. He sat down in the corner of the room nearest the door, which gave him a great view of everyone inside the room, and anyone who might come in through the door. He was doing his best not to succumb to rampant paranoia, but being wary never hurt.

OOC: Exxan open for interaction. 

IC: (Torch/Refectory)

A rahkshi of vacuum sat nearby, constantly looking around, presumably for attack. Torch got out a match and struck it against the table. The way the flame moved really was beautiful...if only everything looked this beautiful...maybe it would, covered in flames like this.

IC: (Snake/Refectory)

Not finding Phogen, Snake returned to the Refectory, sitting back down next to Stretchy, if he was still there.

IC: (Wraith Punch/Refectory)

Fang and his allies had nothing much interesting to say, so Punch headed back to the Corpus. Once inside, he headed to the Refectory to eat and hopefully find some useful information. After all, the rahks might like to talk to this completely new student...

OOC: (Sil/Okoto)

All my characters are open for interaction in the Refectory, but I'm not going to be able to post at all tomorrow, so be warned

IC: Revenge-Hallway

"No, thank you."

OOC: Sorry, I must have missed this.

 Most of the noise seemed to come from her massive chain weapon that rattled as it sliced through the air. With all the noise, Hoto couldn't pick out what the Rahk was saying, but they seemed to stop for a moment, giving Hoto a chance to slip in. She decided to take it slow. As excited as she was, she didn't know this Rahk, and they might be... jumpy. "H... hi," she weakly began.

IC: Era. 

She stiffened, turning slowly to face the Rahkshi who had approached her. She hadn't heard her until she'd spoken up. She was so quiet, so nervous. Why? Era knew her blank faceplate was unnerving, but she hadn't realised just how much so. She took a step closer to the other Rahkshi, her image becoming clearer as Era focused her sonic "sight". There was something... different, about this one. Why had they chosen to come to her? 

"Can I help you?" she asked warily. 

IC: Stronghold

He wasn't on equal footing and he fell backwards. He jumped up and tried to dropkick him.

IC: Rider

Rider was knocked over as Stronghold dropkicked him.

IC: Hoto - Gym

Hoto was silent for a moment as she thought how to most carefully approach this. She fidgeted with her armor, the joints clicking as she moved. The pulses from the other Rahkshi washed over her, making the rest of the gym almost "fuzzy" to her not-vision.

What, I heard your sonic pulses and was wondering if you're blind? That sounds so... insensitive. I was helping someone else navigate, and was wondering if you could help? No, too suspicious...

Finally, she just spat it out in a rush, nearly jumping with excitement. "I'm blind, and I heard, well, I thought I heard you using pulses, and I was wondering if you were using them because you are too!"

With it out, she stumbled back a step, trying to give the Derahk room and time to react.

IC: Era.

"You heard me using subsonic pulses?" Era mused, her tone lightening. She wasn't the only blind Rahkshi in the school? Interesting. And this one obviously had developed some kind of means of detecting and recognising the powers of other Rahkshi. Intriguing. 

"Yes..." she finally said, "...I was defective. Formed without eyes. Blind." Blindness is not weakness...

IC: Stronghold

He found an opening and thrust his fist forward.

IC: Rider

Rider caught the punch and threw another, still on the ground.

IC: Hoto

"Yeah, I hear them just the same way you can. The... good audio receptors that come with being blind." This wasn't going quite as she'd pictured, but they were alike in more ways than Hoto realized.

"That... that's exactly what I thought too. I... I didn't know why they bothered leave me alive, and... my hatchmates thought the same thing. But it's not true! Well, sort of, but if I wasn't blind, then I wouldn't have learned these tricks! I was just teaching someone else to use echolocation. And... And earlier, I was the only one who knew what power another Rahkshi had. It's been great, and there are some Rahks who think so too, like Phogen!"

IC: Jayar / The Gym

Jayar heard footsteps - a Rahkshi was approaching him. Was it Hoto or someone else?

Then the newcomer asked Jayar what he was doing, and his voice was clearly not Hoto.

"I am practicing." He said simply. But his reward was the sound of footsteps growing slowly quieter. Beneath his blindfold Jayar rolled his eyes.

And then, briefly, he detected it - in the direction of the footsteps, the echo was returning faster than other directions! But as soon as he got hold of the sensation, it vanished.

Karzahni, Jayar thought. For a moment here had got hold of the illusive skill, but then he had lost out again. Still, he had proven to himself out could be done. He just needed the right mindset, or something.

He switched hands, tapping his right arm with his left hand, and tried again to discern and interpret the echoes of the resounding noises.

OOC: you know, Arcticfreeze, that it's common courtesy to give someone time to respond before walking off. Jayar open to interaction.

OOC:

Oh yeah. Forgot.

IC: Abyssium

"Ah, yes, we did. Forgive me. These posters are to advertise the group I am attempting to form. Now, what can I help you with?"

IC: Era.

Era had heard a few mentions of this "Phogen" around the school. That was a line of questioning she could chase up later. "What do you mean you could tell what powers another Rahkshi had?" she asked curiously, trying to bury the feeling of elation building up inside her. She wasn't alone! There were other like her! "What kinds of tricks have you learned?" 

IC: Hoto - Gym

"Oh, you..." She didn't really think that this Rahk might not have figured out some way to identify powers yet. "Well, I... I was abandoned on the way here, so I had to learn for myself what to avoid. It... it can be hard at times, especially with some of the powers like Darkness, but if you are looking for it... here, I can show you." She held out an arm and touched the Derahk's shoulder. "Put a hand on my arm. Can you feel the armor almost jump away, just a little bit? That's how you know a Rahkshi of Dodge." Hoto grinned, even knowing they couldn't see it.

IC: Era.

Era did as the other rahk said, feeling an ever so slight jolt as the armour under her fingers recoiled from her touch. "I see..." she said breathlessly, "...figuratively, that is. That's quite a trick." she was impressed, not an easy feat. "I've always relied on my powers. It becomes easier as I grow stronger. It's strange... seeing sounds and hearing shapes." 

NPC Matoran:

The Matoran took the bucket over to his forge, and poured it into the front, watching the temperature carefully. After a long moment, he nodded once.

"Should be perfect, and cut down on the time this'll take. Bring your weapon over here."

IC Kat:

I sat back, watching the sky. 

"Hey, Omega, " I said casually. "I don't know a lot about Phogen, and I've heard Fang's side of things. What's your insight on them?"

IC Poly:

Classes dragged on, and finally were over. I went to the Refectory to get some food, stepping carefully around other Rahkshi of all types.

OOC: Poly is open for interaction under the name of Legion.

IC: Omega

Omega sighed. He knew he could trust Kat but...... He leaned close to Kat. "Look... ...think I liked Phogen. I don't know if that was the reason I followed her but I guess it was a mixture of things. Wanting to get to the top, enjoying being a servant for a higher power, and that. But now I realise she was just using me. And now I realise her true intentions. And I don't know if I like them or not. I'm confused. And when Fang showed that he did care about me, I realised how good it was to have a friend. I just hope I can do both of those things without conflict. Just... don't tell anyone else I told you this."

IC: Flash

Flash finished her song and started another.

OOC: Flash open for interaction. If you want to know what song it is, it's called Crossing Fields.

Ic Kat: I snorted, "What, worried it'll ruin your tough exterior?" I playfully nudged him, then sat back once more.

"I want to learn how to be a leader, y'know? How to make the right calls. And, heck, I guess how to keep what happened to Dodge from happening again. Phogen seemed like the person to go to to learn that, but....

Now I'm not as sure."

IC: Melody-Courtyard

Melody was crossing the courtyard when she heard some music.  She looked up and saw it was the flute playing Rahkshi from a while ago.  She flew up and politely sat down to listen.

IC: Hoto

Hoto laughed. "I could show you more if you like! I've already got the hard part figured out. Some of them, like Poison, weren't fun to learn."

She frowned at the memory. Just another plant she fell against, until a few minutes later. She had stayed most of the day in that spot she fell in, too sick to move, until a Matoran found her. He was going to kill her, and he would have, but she didn't have the will or strength to fight back. He was one of the kind ones.

But she pulled herself out of the memory with a smile larger than before. "I guess your powers are better than this for mine. Dodge just makes sure I don't kill myself if I run into something."

IC: Fang - Nynrah

Fang grabbed his sword and set it where the Matoran could reach it. It was good to have something to occupy his hands and mind. For a moment, he could push out all the anger, all the bitterness, and all the suspicion outside and focus solely on this.

"What are you planning to do," he asked, genuinely curious.

IC: Flash Rahkon

SAVIOUR OF THE UNIVERSE.

Flash Rahkon teleported over to listen to Flash.

NPC Matoran:

He pumped the bellows on the forge, and the room became noticeably warmer. Nodding at Fang, he grunted, " Take the blade apart, and put the end in the forge. Needs to heat up so we can apply the discs properly."

IC: Era.

"You know... I'd actually like that." Era said gratefully. "I'm Era, by the way. You are?" 

IC: Omega

"You are a good leader. What happened with Wraith was HER fault not yours. She was planning to do it no matter what. Trust me, I've up waayy worse in the past. Just ask Exxan." He said, grinning.

IC Kat: I smile gently, an introspective smile.

"You know, Omega, I think there's more to you than people realize. You definitely aren't the brute that most of the school makes you out to be." I held a fist out, a motion I'd learned signified unity in Toa. It seemed harmless enough to me, though we'd been warned to not emulate Toa. A sign of friendship certainly couldn't hurt.

IC: Deadeye

You know I've been thinking. What would happen if I cut off my arm and ate it. Deadeye grinned madly, looking at the rest of the table. There was a rahk across from him making fire. He ran up to him, excited. "Is that fire! Can I touch it!? Can I burn someone with it?! Hey I have a question! Would you rather be impaled or beaten with a spiked bat?" Deadeye said, mad as ever.

IC: Omega

Omega brought a fist to Kat's. "Thanks." He said, smiling.

IC: The Porters were on the move again. They were rolling through the corridors seeking out students, passing on the message they'd been given. A few of them made sure to remain in the major gathering points of the school, the Gym, the Refectory and so on. They'd been given their instructions and were carrying them pout to the letter

"Drillmaster Suvak has prepared an assignment. Students wishing to take part will meet in the library."

That was all their simple brains had been trusted with. No fancy prose, just the necessary information. Still, it was all that was needed, the announcement of an assignment and where to find it if they were interested

IC: Anubissium

Anubissium carefully edged nearer to where Kat and Omega were sitting. She didn't want to eavesdrop, but she also didn't want to seem suspicious by staying all the way out of the way.

IC: Abyssium

A Porter rolled into the art room just as Toxin was about to reply.

"Drillmaster Suvak has prepared an assignment. Students wishing to take part will meet in the library."

Abyssium decided to go and at least find out what was going on, once Toxin answered of course.

IC: Whakatio

"Yo boss! That us!?" She yelled over to Chekquars who was still reading.

IC:Flash

Flash stopped playing when she heard the Porters announcement. She turned to Melody, who she noticed while playing. "Hi Melody. I forgot to tell you but my name's Flash. Are you taking part in the assignment?"

IC: Hoto - Gym

"Oh, of course! I'm Hoto. It's good to meet you. I've been at this school for a while, so if you need help with anything, just let me know, and I'll bet I can find someone with exactly what you need."

Just then, the Porters rolled in. Hoto had grown to hate that grinding sound of their metal bodies rolling across the ground, but their message was exciting.

"An assignment! Do you want to go?" Hoto asked eagerly.

IC: Fang - Nynrah

Fang looked at the blade for a moment to find the seams, then pulled off the pommel and let the rest slide into his hand. He set the parts aside and shoved the sword into the fire, watching with a strange excitement that seemed alien to his face. Just a bit of plasma was added in to speed up the heating.

IC: Revenge-Hallway

A porter rolled up and handed Revenge and Raptor each a piece of paper.  "I'm game," said Revenge after reading it.  He turned toward the Library without another word.
