IC: Omega

"And you expect me to do this, why?"

NPC Matoran 

In a fluid motion that seemed impossible for one as old as he was, the Matoran pulled the blade from the fire, his mask sweaty and scorched, and placed it on the anvil. He quickly grabbed a hammer, and began to shape the blade, dousing it in the water trough every so often, and returning it to the fire. Fang was a hard worker, honest in his words and actions. If there was such a thing as a good Rahkshi under the virtues of the Matoran, Fang was one Rahkshi.

But there was still much to be done, he thought, bringing the blade glowing from the forge once more. It had recovered it's curve, though less angular and jagged, it flowed smoothly to a point that, while currently dull, would later be sharpened to a deadly tip.

IC Poly:

I arrived in the Library. It was crowded with just as many Rahkshi as the Refectory had been. I moved through the crowd, losing myself in the middle of a veritable swarm of Rahkshi. Better to be hidden in plain sight, than failing to be hidden in shadows.

Even so, I hated crowds, and it showed.

IC Kat: "You realise, that most Toa would attack and kill us without a second thought. Admirable though they may be, simply not hating Toa is hardly a good reason to make someone an ally.

For that matter, why are you so enamored with the Toa, anyway?"

OOC: Poly open for interaction.

IC: Green

"Sounds interesting. Let's go."

Green headed for the library.

IC: Dodge-256

Dodge shrugged and followed Abyss and Toxin to the library.

IC: Xara.

 

Xara felt her feet whipped out from under her and fell onto her back with a groan. She lashed out with her long sword, slashing at where Shatter had last been standing, channeling her powers through her blade as she did. 

IC SHatter:

Shatter was hit unawares. The direct hit, combined with the jolt, knocked him off his feet. He stood up painfully. "You... fight well. Draw?" he asked, holding a hand out.

OOC: I'll start bolding the personality in control.

IC: Punch / Counterpunch /Library

"I'm not sure. It hasn't been announced yet."

He stuck out his hand.

"I'm Counterpunch."

"Hey. Stronghold is approaching!"   

"Let's get this over with and go, then."  >  

IC: Stronghold/Library

As he walked up, he stopped to check his eyes and saw the green eyes that signified that Counterpunch was in control. He decided to stand back and let him talk and come to him instead. He walked back to Bullseye.

IC: Fang - Nynrah

Fang watched each motion closely, trying to commit it to memory as the old craftsman shaped his blade. As he kept the bellows pumping, the familiar shape was beginning to come back. Through his exhaustion, Fang smiled.

IC: Hoto - Library

Hoto grabbed Era's hand and pushed towards the doors. Her dodge instincts were going crazy with the number of students pushing against her, and the noise interfering with her "sight" wasn't helping. Finally, she felt the cooler air and comparable silence of outside the Library.

For a moment, she just gasped, then she looked over to Era. "Are... you okay?"

She didn't want to go in there without someone she knew, but she wasn't missing this assignment. Out here would be good enough, for now.

IC Vaalku

To omega: "I have associated with you and Fang for so long that people who are against him will try to sneak into my group to spy on me and my communications to him. Plus it would ruin my relation with Fang in that way. I'd like to do anything that I can to avoid having those two things happen." He turned to Kat.

To kat: "A long while ago, where I got these," he motioned to his mangled exterior. "I saved the life of a Toa and Matoran from a Rahk swarm which left me like this. So I despise anyone who thinks that Toa are morally corrupt, and are weak oversized Matoran. For they have more potential than a Rahk could ever have, and are smarter, stronger, and more willful as well."

IC: Mantis

Mantis hesitated. Why was this strange, green-eyed Rahk jabbing his hand at him?

"I do not understand your action. What is it supposed to mean?"

IC: Kat

"Smarter than our predecessors, sure.

How did the Makuta not find out about this...?" I asked, referring to his story.

NPC Matoran

With one finalmovement, the old man plunged the blade into the water one final time. It screamed and hissed as the temperaturechanged, cementing the sword into it's final shape. It was still dull, but it would never again suffer disfigurement at all but the most extreme heat.

"He wiped the sweat from his brow, and turned to Fang.

"Well done, well done! I'll take the time to sharpen it, and polish it up, you can rejoin your friends if you like, it'll take a couple of hours to cool and sharpen properly."

IC Vaalku

"They might have. And couldn't care less, I suppose." He stated. "It seems that if they lose some Rahks on the way to making good ones, it doesn't matter."

IC: Omega

"Hah. Well whatever. I'll give it a go. Oh and by the way, Toa are not angels. They oppose us and I think you should realise that." Omega said.

IC Vaalku

"I know they oppose us. Which makes convincing even one that some of us do care is extremely difficult." Vaalku said. He heard the sounds of work from inside the building.

IC: Punch / Counterpunch /Library

He withdrew the hand.

"Forget it."

He proceeded to leave to see Stronghold.

IC: Toxin/Library

He said bye to Abyssium and joined his brothers and a stranger whose eyes changed from green to blue.

IC: Mantis

Mantis's heart raced. Had he been disrespectful? He bowed toward the leaving Rahk, hoping he had not just earned himself the one's enmity.

IC: Punch / Counterpunch /Library

"No need to worry. I don't disrespect you. See you around."

He approached Stronghold and what was apparently his older brother.

Punch took control of the body again.

IC: The Trinity Brothers and Punch / Counterpunch /Library

Punch greeted Stronghold who introduced him to his brothers. He told his brother his condition. Toxin shared the information of Abyssium and Anubissium's group, and the brothers agree to join. Punch agreed as well as well as Counterpunch.

IC: Mantis

Mantis sighed in relief. He backed into a corner and sat down on the ground, despite the fact that there were chairs and benches all around. He tried to meditate, to push away all the sound around him and... focus.

IC: Fang - Nynrah

Fang lacked the energy to do more than nod his thanks, but he was smiling as he walked outside. He just stood in the doorway, gratefully breathing in the cool air. After the heat of the forge, its coldness almost stung his lungs. He looked down to see Kat, Omega, and Vaalku talking, and Anubissium standing off to the side. It took him a moment to get enough air to speak, and when he did, it came out as more of a gasp. "So... what did I miss?"

IC: Omega

"Nothing much. Mostly Vaalku whining about how Toa are people too." Omega said, grinning.

IC Kat: I looked up at a breathless Fang, "Hey! Not much, apparently, Toa aren't our enemies?" I shrugged jokingly. " You'll have to talk to hime to get the full story on that." I said, nodding at Vaalku. "What was going on in there? you get your sword all fixed up?"

IC Vaalku

Vaalku gave a frown towards Omega, and said to Fang "I'm starting up a group for myself, but I need someone to do interviews of those who are interested to make sure they're not working with Exxan."

IC: Fang - Nynrah

"Oh, really?" Fang gave Vaalku a quick grin. "I think... I know the story."

Fang nodded to Kat. "Your friend... in there... is just finishing up." He eased himself down with aching muscles and sat down next to her. For now, he was going to ignore Vaalku's comment. He didn't want to deal with it at the moment.

He pointed back at the workshop. "So... how'd you... meet this guy? He seemed... nice... for a Matoran."

IC Vector:

Vector edged through teh crowd, blocking out all the talking that he could not understand and would drive him crazy if he thought about it too much. Suddenly the crowd was gone, and he was int eh doorway. He saw two others. Surely they would think him rude if he didn't say something. "Hello." he said unsteadily.

IC Kat: I looked at my feet. "It's....it's not a great story, you sure you wanna hear it?"

OOC: ######, now I have to actually come up with something.

IC Poly:

The Library was packed. Still waiting in the midst of the crowd, I was on edge.

IC: Anubissium

"Wait, you guys don't hate Toa or Matoran?"Anubissium asked in shock.

IC: Hoto - Outside the Library

Through all of the rush and the noise, Hoto thought she heard someone talking to her. She looked towards the noise and tried to focus on that point. There was... someone standing there, but she couldn't really tell who it was or even what their power was in this chaos.

"Hi," she said, hesitantly.

IC: Fang - Nynrah

"No... not if you... don't want to... share it." He grinned. He had his own share of painful stories. Stories he hoped no one would ask him to tell.

Instead, he beckoned Anubissium over. "No need... to stand out in the cold." He was feeling much more welcoming than an hour or so ago.

IC Kat: I laughed, "Hate? What for? None of them have ever done me any harm. I'd be wary around a Toa if I ever met one, but I certainly don't hate them. And certainly not because The Makuta have tried to pound it into our heads how evil they are." I shook my head, before addressing Fang.

"He, uh... he actually found me, as it were."

IC Vector:

What happened next? Vector tried to remember. He signed along with his words as he carefully said, "My... name is... Vector. What is yours?"

IC Vaalku

"I don't see any reason to." he said to Anubissium. "The Matoran work all day, they have a reason for living, and they're little to no threat to anyone. And Toa..." Vaalku had to think of a good reason. "Toa fight for what they believe in. Don't we also? Everyone fights for what they believe in. But Toa fight for protection of lives, and even sacrifice themselves for noble causes."

Vaalku stopped for a quick second, then continued. "Barely a soul here would even consider doing such a thing."

IC: Omega

"I hate pretty much everything, so Toa is just like everything else in the world."

IC: Fang - Nynrah

"I guess you just stumbled into the wrong group. We're all a little mad here." Fang laughed at her confusion. "As for me, I'm with Kat. I've never met a Toa, but I respect their power and their Code. The Matoran, well... we're in their village right now! And one of them is making me a sword! They have never given me a reason to hate them, so I try to return the gesture."

Kat began her story, and Fang turned his full attention to her, trying to be a little more serious.

IC: Hoto - Outside Library

No, she didn't know a Vector. Why was he so fidgety?

"Hoto," she said, simply. "This is Era."

OOC: This would be a really bad time for that Matoran uprising we were talking about, wouldn't it?

IC Vaalku

"you're something, you know." Vaalku said to Omega, intending to let that sit on his mind for a while.

IC: Era - Outside Library. 

"I'm fine... thanks..." Era said, relieved to be out of the crowded room. She was certain that once the announcement started, the crowd would quiet down somewhat, but right now she was glad to be out of it. Slowly, her vision cleared, giving her an impression of another Rahkshi talking to Hoto. "Hello." she said cheerily. 

IC: Xara - Gym.

Xara didn't even bother trying to get up at first. She leaned forward and shook his hand, being careful not to electrocute him this time. "Draw," she agreed. They could have kept on fighting, but she was at the obvious disadvantage here. He'd taken her by surprise, and she'd lost any chance she might have had at winning. "Now what do we..." she started to ask as she got to her feet, but was interrupted by a Porter shuffling past, spouting something about a new assignment in the library. "...never mind. I'm headed to the infirmary, then the library." she decided. 

Twice now, that upstart Exxan had come out on top of the previous assignments. This time, she intended to beat him. 

IC: Love Guurahk

"Do you want to attend the assignment, Ms Green?"

IC:Flash

Flash left Melody and headed into the Library, or at least tried to. Since it was so busy she decided to wait in the corridor near the doorway.

OOC: Open for interaction

IC: Omega

"And you're a dirty little stalker." Omega said, smiling.

IC Vector:

"Hello, Era." Vector said unsteadily. "I am thinking neither of you like crowds, why you out here?" Vector said.

IC Shatter:

"I think I will do the same." Shatter said, before walking out the door. Every few steps he limped. Now he knew something. Electricity Rahkshi were dangerous. As he walked toward the Infirmary, he thought of ways to cover his apparent weakness to electricity.

OOC: Oh, it would indeed.

IC Kat. "Well, as it happens, I was immobilised. these suits don't do so well underwater, see. Especially in mud. I about drowned in my first outing from the Acadamy. Back then, I was..... a lot less....me. I was hasty, and believed everything the Makuta told me. So.... I almost lashed out at him when he found me washed up on shore, my legs all but useless. He, uh.... he cleaned up the joints, and got me moving again. For a long time, I hated that. Hated that a Rahkshi had to be saved by a lowly Matoran.

Now, though, he's a good friend, and helps me with all of my Weapons and armor needs. Even improved the joints on my legs."

I shook my head wistfully.

"Like I said, not a great story, but that's what happened, and it's certainly helped me become who I am today."

IC: Hoto - Outside Library

"Just... taking a break. I'm not going in there just yet." She said it calmly, almost casually, but with a pointed glare that threatened not to ask questions. This 'Vector' didn't need to know anything.

IC: Fang - Nynrah

Fang nodded slowly at the conclusion of the story. "The kindness of the Matoran never ceases to amaze me. They have every reason to hate us, but when they see a helpless creature, even one of us, they are willing to help."

IC: Jayar / Library-->Outside the Library

Jayar waited in the library for a few minutes, but the announcement was not likely to begin for another few minutes, to give all the students time to assemble. He was beginning to feel bad about leaving the Gym without Hoto immediately after receiving the Porters' message. He could easily have waited a few minutes for Hoto to return and gotten to the library with her in plenty of time.

He stood around for another minute, scanning the crowd for Hoto, then noticed her outside the Library doors... talking with two Rahkshi, of Sonics and Accuracy.

Well, whatever. It was unlikely that she was hanging out with maniacs so he walked outside of the library and up to the little group.

"Hey Hoto." He called over when he was in close proximity to the group. "Sorry I left you back there..." He looked to the Derahk, and quickly realized she had no eyes. Was she blind too? That would explain Hoto's strange distraction in the Gym. He proceeded to examine the Sanokrahk and found not much to comment on. "Would you introduce me to your friends?" he asked.

IC: Omega

Omega bowed his head in shame. He had terrorized those matoran. THE SAME KIND that saved Kat's life. He said nothing, just bowing his head.
