  • IC: A strange glance at the choice of words, and then he led on. Glittering ice, well carved, was everywhere. It would have been beautiful if it wasn't FREEZING HIS KARZING REAR OFF! At the end of the cave, they reached the Koro. "All right, so, know anyone?"

  • IC: "Wow. Fail---" He saw a massive ice sculpture of the legendary Toa Kopaka. "MATA NUI, THAT'S AWESOME!" His loudness got him dirty looks from Ko-Matoran. "Er, sorry. Know where I could find one of Tahu?" Though he asked that in a calmer voice, it offended the natives and got him more dirty looks, plus a chunk of ice thrown at his head. Evidently looking for your village's Toa was overly nationalist here. Or, it could be that they were still mad about his loudness. Then again...MATA NUI FORBID, IT COULD BE BOTH!OOC: This character is so much fun. Thanks for telling me to make him.

  • IC: The Matoran seemed to back off. All but one, who instead pulled out his own dagger. Toranmat pulled out his, though he doubted it would be necessary with Treize around. He just didn't want to look like a wimp in front of the general populace. A circle gathered around the three of them, just watching. A few ran off to report it to the local authorities. "Er, captain? What do we do now?"

"Cool off? You're the outsider, this is Ko-Koro!" Another slash. And another roll away on the ground with a mouthful of snow. OOC: Could you control this NPC freak for me? "But it would be rude for a soldier to kill civilians."She brightened up."Maybe I can sue you!"

  • OOC: Meh, he's an NPC, I won't be in any trouble.IC: "Kill you? Like I said, that murder was an accident. I was thinking maim, or dismember!" He thought of a new tactic. He threw a large chunk of ice while running at Treize, while pulling out a second dagger. He threw one dagger from the opposite side, so Treize would have to retreat or choose where to block. Oh, right. Retreating. He threw another ice chunk at the wall behind Treize, cracking it and sending snow and ice down like a mini-avalanche. And to finish it all up, from the front he came with his dagger in an attempt to stab her--AND with an outstretched hand to grab her Kanohi.

  • OOC: New Lesson. What you described was physically impossible. He cannot attack from so many directions, throw so many snowballs, crack a wall and charge forward in an attempt to stab her in so little time.IC: [Treize]Due to the fact that it would have taken a long time to do all the above, Treize was already behind the Matoran, and promptly decided to kick him in the crotch.

  • OOC: Well, that was a fail. However, in most cases the pain subsides within 20 seconds. (At least in my very frequent experience...I live in one Karz of a place by mainland American standards.)IC: He stalled for time to let the pain go away. "I...I...guess....I...have..to...sur--" He put two fingers together and jabbed her hard in the back of the knee, then lifted her foot off and jumped backwards, ending in a stand. He looked around for a new weapon, but he found none. So, he backed up further to where he had thrown one of his daggers and picked it up. "I guess I have to surPRISE YOU." he said, completing the sentence. And with that, he charged again, ready to block a strike. His main goal was a punch to the gut to knock her breath out.

  • Ic: The faces of the others ranged from shocked to devious, but they soon agreed as one that their muddied brother had the right keys in his hands. "Well then, I suppose that leaves only one more step: Conquering the hearts of Xa-Koro to our side,” the scientist admitted.“But what then?” the lady asked. “Once we have an army, what are we going to do with it? A devoted group, to be sure, but ragtag and composed of derelict criminals. We can’t conquer another Koro with a group like that.”“My dear, sweet lady,” Ambages said softly as he took her hand in his, “surely you haven’t forgotten the true and full purpose of our campaign.”“Oh, of course,” she sighed.“But enough of that. Our next course of action is clear and decided. We should move as soon as possible.”“I’ll bring the hospitals in,” the scientist said. “Health builds hope faster than anything.”“I can build a library,” the intellection said. “Knowledge is power, and we need a powerful horde.”“And I can strengthen mercantilism,” the noblewoman declared.“That leaves me,” Ambages said. “I can handle the other affairs, public and private. Madam, do us the honor of the closing?”“Certainly,” she cooed. “With each their sow...”“... With each their sight...”“... It is only as one...”“... We feed the night.”“Oh, and one more thing, if I dare make business outside our shell, what of the captain? Surely he heard your tirade, Ambages,” the scientist said.“We should kill him,” the lady said as she glared at him floating towards the ship after Ambages waved him to.“No,” the sage said. “There are other ways of dealing with potential threats than killing them. Let me handle this one.”“He’s all yours,” Ambages said. The boat was safely plutting through he fjord when the elder approached the sailor. “Good man, have you been a fisherman all your days here?”“Yes.”“And are you content with your job?”“Yes.”“Have you ever wanted to explore more than these small holes in the wall?”“No.”“Gooooood,” the old man gently said. “I wouldn’t want anything better than your desires for a good sea man such as yourself. Let us pray that no harm were to befall your destiny.”The captain understood the veiled threat, but did not say anything. “...”The sage went back to his colleagues and whispered, his voice scattered by the soft roar of the waves as the boat cruised. “He will be silent. A voice that says not is better than a missing voice that draws suspicion.”

  • IC:Snow had began to fall over the village of ice. The heavy flakes coming down cast a thick veil across the huts and buildings of the villagers and the silence the snow brough fell across the already quiet Koro. Soon, everything beyond arms length began to merge with the greyness. Even if one were out in the open, Ko-Wahi's weather isolated them. A tiny alien world for each individual. It was a time for calm and reflection, and many of the scholars used the opportunity to focus solely on their studies, leaving the streets deserted, the paths slowly covered. The only ones left out in the falling snow were the sanctum guards, carrying out their duty, as always, unmoving and standing strong, like the ice of glaciers surrounding them.Back in the inn, the number of patrons had increased marginally. Like moths to a flame, the inn was a beacon to visitors of the Koro, attracting strangers of all kinds to its warmth and comfort; and the seats and tables were soon filled, the fur-coverings and carpets adding to the comfort offered. Heat-Stones mounted in small holders glimmed upon the tables and near the center of the room, a circular chimney filled the room with warmth and dim, orange light. Sitting in small groups and seperated by screens of wood, the patrons conversed among themselves in low tones. It seemed even in here the silence was affecting them. All of which was fine with her.Sitting in leather-chair in a shady spot, the Vortixx quietly observed the others in the room, while occasionally taking a sip from a shallow glass. The spirit had a nice taste to it, just as she liked it. Absent-mindedly, she dipped her clawed finger into the liquid, stirring it slightly, moving the olive floating on the surface around, before slowly running the finger across her lips, licking off the residue.Kohra liked having the spot to herself. It gave her just the right view of the other patrons to observe her surrounding and just the seclusion she desired. Her features mostly covered in shadow, only revealed by the odd high-striking flame in the chimney, she sat in thought. Her mind was furthering her next move, her next step, the next attack upon the three virtues. Arguing this approach, discarding others, as she mentally discussed the pros and cons with herself...and the lord of shadows. He was with her, always. And as always, when the circumstances required it, he spoke to her, both to guide Kohra...and to continually test her skills. To what end, the Vortixx did not know...but she was certain she would find out. Eventually.OOC: Going to post the mental conversation later. I just love doing the written paintings of a scene. Really gets the imagination going.

  • OOC: on that delightful thought...ICThere was a burst of snow and wind as the door swung open, a tall figure casting a dark shadow casting itself upon the floor. As the whistling of the gale stormed inside he took three long strides in, the sound of a hundred banshees at his back. With a slam the door closed, the sudden sounds and light vanishing as quickly as came. Before everyone stood a tall male Vortixx, one of perculiar look and build. He was leaner than most, of slightly smaller frame than most of his kind, though not terribly so. What grabbed the patron's attention however was his attire: button-down shirt under a long coat-and-tails, a dandy white scarf about his neck, a black-and-gold croocked came in his right hand, complete with a rather dashing top hat... which he took off and with fine, dignified strokes brushed the show off of it. He had the air of a gentleman, if not the demeanor of a schemer. Glancing about, he seemed less than satisfied, but continued inside anyway, carrying himself that though he were of great importance. This Vortixx was named Marquise van Paikish, and I was bloody bored.---------------------------------------This island is of less than satisfactory condition.I sat coldly in my chair, my emotions matching the bloody weather. Blimey, couldn't this forsaken piece of rock have anything decent on it? My chin rested comfortably on my claws as I awaited service, my hat, scarf, and cane hanging neatly behind me, a contemplative look on my face. To top if off it seemed this spot of dirt seemed to have an overabundance of chaotic and undisciplined villiany, the buggers. I would simply have to make due until I figured out a way off this island.Where was that tea? And something told me they weren't serving biscuts either.

  • IC - Dez - Ko-Koro InnI quickly heated a plate of scones, accidentally burning them, as the other inn-worker poured a glass of steaming orange tea into a pristine white cup and put it down in front of me almost passive aggressively. The looks he'd been giving me since I'd taken this job (the only work I could find) would match the attitude he'd displayed. It wasn't my fault that the only place a man could get a job these days was in some frozen block of ice when the name "inn" taped on. Anyways, a customer was awaiting our wonderous, five-star service with an expression similar to that of an unhappy Vortixx freezing himself in a scumbag of an inn.Oh wait.I opened the small door, carrying a plate of (hopefully unwanted) biscuits and cup of tea to the Vortixx. I juggled the two, doing what looked to be a circus act as I tried not to spill a drop of tea while balancing the biscuits. The twenty feet to his chair felt like miles as I tried desperatally not to drop anything. Finally, I was almost there. I somehow managed to balance the scones on my knee, gently shoving the tea into the Vortixx's open hand."There's your tea, sir, and," I balanced the biscuit plate on the chair's armrest, "reccomended for your pleasure."

  • Ic: Upon the society's landing back at the pier, the four socialites left the boat as dignified as they had embarked it. They quickly met up with their bodyguards and guides and went their ways, some taking an outrigger craft away or others opting to walk back the way they came. This was the choice of Ambages who, after hiking his way down the mountains and glaciers into the fjord, was going to take the same route to return to his city. The two in his company were just as eager, anyway. The group they hung out with while their masters did their business was meager at best, and Ambages was entertained without saying a thing as the guard and the guide exchanged stories about their encounters with their fellow vocation holders. In the end, the matoran had heard enough senseless drivel about lower class people to fill the walls of the Sanctum with a rant. How they were able to absorb so much ill experience in such a short time was beyond him, but he didn't say a word. Finally, the group crested the final ridge and the gate of Ko-Koro came within view. The two finally shut up, though Ambages didn't know or care why; he guessed that they were just tired and realized how useless it would be to carry their conversation on past the sacred gates of the Silent City. It was snowing there at the moment, and the non-native Senegal was pointlessly swatting the snow from his face in annoyance. Ambages and his guide, however, far more local than their toa protector, just strode into the village with nary a worry. Soon, the three people parted ways. Ambages was quite comfortable within the city by himself; rarely did violence ever truly break out there, and even then it was often isolated and far from harmful to his health. Besides, if he ever did come under attack, he always had his eyes everywhere...He trudged through the rising snow, sloshing through it like a dikapi ambled through a grassy glade. Ambages paused midstride on his way to his apartment, recalling that he had unfinished business in one of the local establishments. It was a relatively new place, an inn started a short while back and one of the first of its kind in the Koro. Few travelers aside from sages and suicidal men came to the village, neither of which had use of an inn, but for the pilgrims and very rare true travelers, the inn catered to their needs. The issue Ambages had with it was simple, really: It lacked the class needed. Ambages was a money man who had to have his hand in as many purses as possible, and this was one of them. The issue was that the owner was quite... reluctant to give up a large share of the business, something Ambages intended to change soon enough. He entered the establishment with some surprise: There were people there. Most of them looked frosted, or at the very least moist from melting snow as it ran down their armor cracks. Never before had he seen this much population in the inn, however he guessed it was mostly due to the storm. But he was aware that in the line of hospitality, business and pleasure went hand in hand. He sat himself down at one of the remaining tables like any other patron and waited. The owner would soon come out to meet him.Ooc: I'm not sure if this was just a construct of you, Veef, but if it is, feel free to play the owner.
