IC: Fang - Infirmary
Fang snapped awake, one thought reaching his mind even before the pain did. I'm level three.
Of course, he'd suspected it before when he suddenly felt a new energy in the fight, and when he began firing plasma from his hands, but he wasn't quite sure until Exxan's reaction. Exxan knew what it was like to be level three, and he could recognize it in Fang. Of course, that meant Exxan knew he was much more of a threat now.
He pushed himself up with a groan, all the conflicting thoughts banging around in his head, making it ache even worse. It was about then that he finally bothered to open his eyes and caught a quick glimpse of a group of Rahkshi standing over him. He tried to push up against the wall, giving him just a bit of extra time to react to the inevitable attack, but everything still hurt, and he fell back onto the sheet, helpless. Then the voices began to filter in.
"...talking to Exxan earlier..."
"...I understand..."
"...got the best healthcare..."
"...waking up..."
The first voice... she had been calling to Exxan as he left, but he recognized the rest. "Kat," he called, hoarsely. "Omega? Hoto?"
He opened his eyes again, blinking in the light.
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
"Look, he's waking up!" Hoto shouted, eagerly. She was too focused to pay attention to the other conversations going on around her.
OOC: Sure, it's convenient, but hey, Fang needs to wake up sometime. ![]()
IC: Omega
"Nope, why would you say that.." Omega asked. Well now I'm ######. He looked at Fang when he woke up. "Hey man." He said.
IC Kat: I grinned once more at Fang, "easy, there. How ya feelin'?"
IC: Jayar / The Infirmary
Jayar breathed a sigh of relief and wondered why the Farahk had pointed out that he wasn't level 3. The thought that perhaps he was and wanted it secret (and didn't understand how to keep it that way) crossed Jayar's mind.
"Thank you," he said to the Farahk. "I'm Jayar. Friend of Hoto's and servant of none." The way he said none might have implied Phogen if you were suspicious about that sort of thing.
Hearing Hoto excited shout, he walked a few steps over to Fang's bed, beside Hoto.
IC: Era - Infirmary.
"You're not a very good liar, are you?" Era noted, but was cut off from saying anything else by Hoto's cry.
IC: Bullseye
He and Hoto saw Fang awake. Hoping to save Omega, he tried to segway his conversation.
"Hey, look guys! Fang's waking up!"
IC: Omega
Omega pulled himself up slightly to talk to Fang.
IC: Jayar / The Infirmary
Thank you, Captain Redundant, thought Jayar as Bullseye's shout echoed Hoto's almost exactly.
IC: Fang - Infirmary
"Like I've been trampled by a Rock Lion, but other than that, not bad," Fang replied to Kat, trying to sit up a bit more.
Who were these other two with them? They couldn't be Exxan's, could they? Kat wouldn't let anyone like that in here right now.
IC: Omega
"I know what you mean." Omega chuckled.
IC Kat:
"Could be worse," I joked. "You could have been me, and taken a Kane-Ra to the face," I rubbed my head plate, noting that it, too, had a scar. Weird.
"In any case, I heard you're the newest level 3!"
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
"What? You said it wasn't that bad!" Hoto interjected.
IC: Fang - Infirmary
Fang's chuckle came out as a hoarse cough. "Apparently. Exxan wasn't too happy about it. I saw him while you two were out." He winced and rubbed his back. "Probably shouldn't have, come to think of it. How are you two holding up?"
IC: Omega
"If my back didn't feel like there was a huge bleeding hole in it, I'd be fine." Omega laughed.
IC Kat:
"It isn't, now!" I defended.
I turned back to Fang, "Little sore in places, but I should be good to go by tomorrow."
. The leg.
"Gonna have to go back once I'm healed up..."
IC: Pyre
"This isn't worth the trouble" said Pyre as he burrowed away. "Lets see how long it takes for that guy to realize I'm not in the room anymore. Time to find that other fellow."
Pyre poppoed put from underground. A few few feet away from the smoking room.
IC: Fang - Infirmary
Fang looked over to Omega. Yes, the spines were still gone. A fresh wave of guilt hit his mind. At least it was something he could do something about.
Instead, he turned his head to look at Era. "Come to think of it, you were there, weren't you? I'm Exxan's archnemesis. I'm sure he's read enough books that the term comes to mind." He tried to chuckle again.
He remembered the craftsman and the leg he had prepared shortly after Kat did. He was just as worried as he was sure she was. "I hope your friend is fine. Those Matoran might not have been kind to someone who harbors Rahkshi. As soon as I can fly, we're going back, and if he was injured..." Fang trailed off darkly.
You're level three now. You can make them pay. You have power.
And that makes you a threat.
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
Hoto crossed her arms defiantly and tried to search for more injuries. Even if Palma wasn't good at fixing them up, she would have a hard time picking out damage on a Rahkshi.
IC: Bullseye/Infirmary
"Sup, Fang. Feeling better?"
IC Kat:
"My plan was to go in dark. Maybe they won't expect us back so soon..."
I noticed Hoto looking me over. I shook my head and smiled. Such a worrier.
I gently took her hand, placed it on the scar over my eye, and said, "this is all that's left. I'm okay now, really.
IC: Era - Infirmary.
"Archnemesis?" Era asked. "What did you do to him?"
IC Mahrika
Dormitory Corridor->Infirmary, RE: Xara. Open for interaction.
Mahrika heard nothing after "infirmary." He purposefully strode down the hall towards it, and found it full of commotion. "Hello?" He opened the door.
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
She let Kat lead her hand to the scar, and she felt the rough bump of it. Just that for a Kane-Ra to the face? She was skeptical, but she knew Kat was trying to make her feel better, so she dropped it and focused back on Fang. She didn't quite know what was going on, but all three of them seemed to have taken quite a beating.
IC: Fang - Infirmary
Fang nodded, but added, "You aren't going alone. You would be killed without someone there."
To Era, he gave a pained grin. "Exxan and I... don't see eye to eye in everything. If you'll pardon the expression," he added, noting her eyeless faceplate. "He beat me, and we both don't like each other for it. A better question is how you found yourself next to my bed."
She's a spy, watching for your weakness, ready to strike.
No, she's...
His thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice at the door. "Mahrika? Where have you been?" Fang called as loudly as he could.
IC: Jayar / The Infirmary
"If you do return to Nynrah, would you permit me to join you? It seems you would benefit from an extra Rahk or two," Jayar offered Kat. He had been really hoping Hoto would introduce him to Fang, but that seemed to be not happening.
IC: Re-entering the infirmary, Palma threw an industrial stress ball to Deadeye, the first step in the sessions he had with her, something to help him take the edge off his compulsions. While he was kept busy with that she quickly fixed up Wraiths hands without saying a word. Apparently Revenge's trespasses still rankled a little with her
IC: Era - Infirmary.
"I followed Hoto," Era said with a shrug.
IC Kat: I looked at Jayar. I had no doubt he'd likely help, but....
"No. I'm afraid not. I've already gotten three students injured. For Palma's sanity, I'd prefer not to add to that count."
IC: Fang - Infirmary
Not this again. Kat's being hard on herself for something she barely had a hand in. "It was my idea to take us there," he put in. "I didn't realize the Matoran would be so angry."
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
With Kat figured out, Hoto realized that Fang didn't know Jayar and Era. "Yeah, she came with me. I met her earlier, and invited her along. I didn't realize... you two had met."
She looked back at Jayar, standing off to the side while they all piled around the bed. He'd been so excited to meet him earlier too. She reached out and dragged him into the circle. "And this is Jayar. He helped me write up the last assignment."
IC: Jayar / The Infirmary
"I'm a Quick Healing Rahk. It's hard to keep me down. And if I don't go, you'll be more likely to be injured yourself," he pointed out.
Jayar turned back to Fang. "It is an honor to meet you, Fang. I have heard of your actions on Nynrah during the last assignment, and admire you for them."
IC Kat: I folded my arms. I wasn't convinced yet to take him, but I had to admit, a healer would up our chances if we were attacked.
"How'd you do on Suvak's Stealth course?"
IC: Era - Infirmary.
"Well, we hadn't actually met," Era tried to explain, "He spoke with Exxan back in the library, and I listened in on them, so I recognised his voice."
IC: Jayar / The Infirmary
"Well enough. I wouldn't claim to be undetectable, but at night it would probably be at least as difficult for a Matoran to detect me as any other Rahkshi."
IC Kat:
I nodded, and put a fist out in the same Gesture is used earlier.
Hopefully he'd recognize it.
"Welcome aboard." I grinned.
Huh. Been smiling a lot more lately. Good to have friends.
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
Hoto grinned to see that Kat used the fist. She'd explained it to Jayar, so he should know what to do. Just in case, she banged her fists together, facing towards him intently.
IC: Fang - Infirmary
Fang was surprised to hear that Jayar admired him. It seemed just when he felt no one cared, all these Rahkshi came out of nowhere to tell him they did. Unless it was still a trap, of course. He needed to find Phogen and get the truth out of her first.
Fang nodded at Era's explanation. "I only heard her calling to Exxan. I didn't realize she... I never saw her." He abruptly changed his reply. Hoto was sensitive about being blind in the beginning. No use offending her already.
IC: Era - Infirmary.
"It's fine," Era brushed it off. Blindness is not weakness... she reminded herself.
IC: Jayar / The Infirmary
Jayar knew what to do - smiling, he gave Kat a solid fist bump.
"Glad to be here," he said. At last he was among like-minded Rahkshi. Not overambitious or manipulative, maybe not perfect, but moral.
IC Mahrika
Infirmary, RE: Fang
"Fang! I'm glad I found you... although I'd hoped not to find you here again. There's something important I have to tell you, but first... What happened to you? Angry Matoran, you said?"
IC: Fang - Infirmary
Fang grinned at the proceedings around his bed. Jayar seemed like a decent Rahkshi, it would be nice to have him around.
At Mahrika's words, Fang's grin slowly faded. "We stopped at Nynrah to pick up a few disks, and we were caught by a mob of Ghosts. They were... understandably agitated after the destruction of the last assignment, and they took out their anger on us. We barely made it out. So, what is it you have to say?"
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
Hoto was eagerly awaiting Jayar's official inclusion in the little group, and when he bumped fists, she nearly jumped with joy. She tried to settle with an official "Good to have you here," but she could hardly contain her excitement. When the new Rahk walked in, she tried to recognize him, but didn't get anything. The power was difficult to identify, and his voice and proportions were unfamiliar. "Who's this?" she asked Fang.
IC: Jayar / The Infirmary
Jayar saw Hoto almost leap into the air. He held out his fist to her, smiling. "I get one from you too, right?" he said.
IC Mahrika
Infirmary, RE: Fang, Hoto
"Sorry, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Mahrika. And, Fang, I think you'd rather I told you this privately."
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
"Of course," she said as she bumped Jayar's fist. "I'm just... glad you're here."
Who was 'Mahrika?' She hadn't seen him before, and he just walked in like he knew Fang. He hadn't even mentioned a 'Mahrika.' But she left it alone. As long as Fang trusted him.
IC: Fang - Infirmary
Fang shrugged helplessly, cringing as his shoulder muscles ached. "I doubt I'll be able to move much from this bed. Privacy is up to them, although I do trust... most of them."
IC: Era - Infirmary.
"Ah... I'm a sonic Rahkshi, and due to my... condition, I kind of have a habit of listening intently to my surroundings." Era confessed, "I'd have to be down the next hallway before I'd be unable to hear you guys."
