IC: "Dail." She said by way of introduction. Her keen eyes hadn't missed the Marks, but now she knew that they held some significance. "What's a Mark Bearer?"![]()
IC: JikalJikal laughed nervously. "What are you talking about? What's a Mark-Bearer?"
IC: EmotiaEmotia hadn't been able to hide her mark from where she was. "Oh these things?" She pointed to her mark. "They're all the rage right now in Ga-koro! Everybody's been getting one!" Ain't that the truth? She chuckled nervously, something she always did when she was lying.
IC: Reaver'Oh, these? It means we're in a... a...'She search her thoughts. 'A club! Yeah, we're all in this awesome club, right guys?'
IC: Dail was a good liar. As such, she was quite capable of telling when others were dodging the truth. However, even a child could have noticed that she had hit a sore spot. She smiled exasperatedly and took a step into the room."You're lying." She said. "That just makes me more curious--what exactly are you hoping to hide from me by doing so? I said I was here to help, so unless you're here plotting the downfall of the Koro..." She raised an eyebrow.![]()
IC: JikalJikal sighed. "Folks, the jig is up." He removed his cloak. "And this is a problem that I doubt you can help with."
IC: Emotia"Ya that's right...were totally plotting to destroy the koro." she said sarcastically. "Trust me...I'm not sure you want to get involved with us...these marks are trouble..." She decided there was no point in denying they were hiding something, but that didn't mean they had to tell her what it was.
IC: Reaver'If I were you, I'd leave here now. You want nothing to do with us.' Her Mark was still glowing from the Agony of the people in the other rooms, and getting brighter still.
IC: Dail raised an eyebrow. Well, being blunt had worked. "You seem to agonize over them a lot." She said. "If nothing else, I could at least let you vent. Of course," she gave a sharp look at Reaver, "as long as you don't threaten me. That aside, what harm could come from my helping?"![]()
IC: Reaver'None at all. Being around us is the real danger. We are capable of more than you can imagine, and sometimes...' She shot a look to Emotia. '... Things can get out off hand.'
IC: Jikal"For us? No harm. For you? Potential for a horrible excruciating death." Jikal replied grimly. "And that is not a threat, it's a warning. We might not want to hurt you, but it could happen."
IC: Dail shook her head, taking another step into the room. Now she was in among them."I'm not worried. I've hurt before, it's not something I can't handle. And even if you tried, you'd be hard pressed to succeed."Mata Nui, what was she saying? She should just heed their warnings and leave. But she was supposed to help them. That was her job now, helping people. A little pain wouldn't spook her off.![]()
IC: Emotia"Speak for yourself, I haven't harmed anyone, I wouldn't need to either, my mark gets fed so easy...excited people are everywhere..." Her mark was glowing dark green, plenty of excited people inside the hospital and out...not to mention the mob of people with torches and sharp objects coming toward the hospital, but they weren't aware of that yet.
IC: JikalJikal sighed again. "You wanna know? The three of us," Jikal indicated the Mark-Bearers. "Have Marks that feed on emotions. Emotia is the lucky one, she feeds on excitement. Reaver feeds on agony and I feed on cruelty. What is worse, if our Marks aren't fed, they might take over until they are fed. In my case, if that happens, then a separate personality takes over. Still wanna stick around?"
IC: ReaverShe was about to add to her previous statement, when she saw an orange glow filling the room. 'What the...' She went over to the window and peered out. Turning around, her eyes wide, she said in a quivering voice 'Guys? We have company.'
IC: Dail was silent for a moment. A quick pang of fear shot through her, but it was quickly replaced by...sadness? Why?She realized she was sad...for these Mark Bearers. She...pitied them, that was the word. What a strange feeling. Her voice was a bit quieter, and less agressive when she spoke next."I still want to help you." She said. "No one deserves to be tied to suffering like that." She glanced out the window. "And besides, it looks like you coud use my help right about now anyway."![]()
IC: JikalJikal looked out the window, and turned to Dail. "If this comes down to a fight, I need you to do something for me. You said you wanted to help us. I need you to make sure the other me doesn't take over."
IC: EmotiaEmotia looked out the window. "That's a lot of excitement out there..." She could feel it. "There probably people from the tavern...great..."
IC: Dail nodded. "It won't happen." She assured him. "Whatever it takes. And besides, it wouldn't be that hard to get out of here quietly."![]()
IC: Reaver'What we need is a way out. They'll likely surround the building...' She thought for a second, before leaping up through the roof, and landing on it silently and with finesse. She crouched down and put her hand through the newly-made hole. 'Grab my hand, I'll pull you all up!'
IC: Dail rolled her eyes. Her mask glowed and the air shimmered. Reaver watched in surprise as the others vanished, Dail still visible. He realized he was probably invisible as well."Out the front before the clog it up." Dail said. "Keep close to me."![]()
IC: ReaverShe rolled her eyes in response. 'Showoff.' She dropped through the hole in the roof, and became invisible as soon as she hit the floor. 'Lead the way.'
IC: JikalJikal closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, they were poison green. His Mark began to glow as he said "They don't have a good intention among them. Intentions of cruelty are all the have." His voice didn't change completely, but there was a distinctly different tone layered underneath it. He turned to Dail. "Lead on."
IC: EmotiaEmotia followed Dail. "Thank you." She whispered to her. Emotia's eyes were glowingly a dark green, instead of her usual ember eyes.
IC: "I help those in need." Dail said to Emotia. "Alright, time for silence. I can't mask sounds." She quietly led them out of the hospital, narrowly dodging the crowd as they pushed and shoved their way into the hospital. They carefully worked their way out of the village and onto the beach. Once out of sight of the Koro, she released her mask power.![]()
IC: Reaver'Thank you, Dail. I feel kind of weak now, after being around all those hospital folk.' She stabbed herself once again in the shoulder, and her Mark flared. 'Oh, that feels good.'
IC: EmotiaEmotia thought she'd be used to Reaver stabbing herself, she still mentally cringed at it though. Emotia sat down on the beach, resting her leg, which was still pretty sore. "I know we can't stick around here for long, but I need to rest...just a little."
IC: JikalJikal sighed. "Reaver, do you have any ide-" He was cut short. The final burst of cruelty from Reaver's actions triggered his Mark's hunger. "No NO NO!" Jikal yelled, then abruptly stopped. His Mark glowed, as did his eyes. "Ah, so good to be in control again." Jikal's body smiled at them, though there was no sign of the Toa's former presence. "I don't think we have been properly introduced."
IC: Emotia"So, what are you suppose to be? The mark itself?" She asked, she wasn't scared a bit, her and a Reaver's mark were most likely way more fed right now than his.
IC: Dail raised an eyebrow. "A liberal interpetation of cruelty." She observed. "I'm sure you know me, but may I ask your name?"The winds began to spin lazily around the ex-assassin, ready to snap into deadly invisible blades at the first sign of trouble. More invisibly, she extended her air-sense around him, reading his body and watching for the first hint of attack.![]()
IC: Reaver'I'm starting to think I don't like this guy.' She span her Dagger around in her hand, ready for a fight if needed.
IC: ??"Me? The Mark? No, nothing as predictable as that. As for my name, it has been a long time since anyone used my name. Just as long as it has been since I had my own body." Jikal's eyes narrowed. "You won't kill me. It would mean killing a relatively innocent Toa, too."
IC: Reaver'What are you?' She switched into a combat stance, which to her was side on to Jikal, feet wide apart, and her arms dangly limply in front of her.
IC: "I'm not worried about hurting him." Dail said. "And what does it matter how long ago your name was used? It's still your name, and I inquired as it what it was." Her voice gained a steel-tinged edge.![]()
IC: ?? Jikal's face morphed into an expression of hate. "I don't know. I only know the name of the one who robbed me of both it and my body. My name dances forever outside my reach." Jikal's hand crept toward the handle of his sword.
IC: ReaverSeeing Jikal reach for his sword, she waved her Dagger threateningly around, at the same time summoning a gale-force wind. 'Go ahead. Try it.'
IC: "That's not much help." Dail commented. "I suppose..." The breezes around her died down. "...that I'll be keeping my promise now." As she spoke, the air around bizzaro-Jikal's hands and feet constricted into manacles, pulling him down to his knees, his sword at his waist and out of reach."How do I deactivate the Mark." She asked the others, her eyes focused on Jikal with cool eyes, and a chill born of experience. Specifically, the experience of having people at her mercy.![]()
IC: ??Jikal, or rather it, was determined not to go down so easily. He blasted lightning at Dail, hoping to break her concentration. He did the same to Emotia, as she was the weakest fighter, she would most likely be protected.
IC: Electricity was a transfer of free electrons from a negatively charged area to a positively charged area, typically originating near the attacker. Therefore, when the air around bizzaro-Jikal crackled, she sidestepped and moved away. The air around her shimmered and she vanished, dissappearing into thin air. The lightning bolt hit its terminus where she had been standing and fizzled out.The air in his throat congealed and prevented him from breathing, while Dail hoped to keep him quiet. ![]()
IC: Reaver'Leave him here. With no one to take cruelty from, the Mark will stop working.' She helped in restraining Jikal by strengthing Dail's air-manacles.
