"What with all the fighting, Mark Bearers and what not..." She sighed, leaning back against the tree they were sitting at. "It's been a very odd day."

She just stood silently, tears rolling down her face. She knelt down, and without anyone noticing, carved with her Dagger:Thank you.-ReaverShe sheathed her Dagger, and once again stood silent.

About four crystaline shrds were embedded inside the table. I suddenly collapsed, grabbing onto Hajia to stop myself from falling on my back and causing the crystaline arrow to dig deeper into me."AH! Karz... That hurts..." I hissed through my teeth.I managed to push myself partway up with my tentacles."If I keep this up, there won't be anything left of me by the end of the week," I said, still trying to make a joke despite the pain and situation.

She didn't notice that Onuzek had still followed her. "What was wrong with that old fool?" She asked, not sure what she was asking. Herself. Nikila. Onuzek. The Wind. "Why did he always have to mess with things..." she buried her head in her hands. "Why couldn't he just sit back and let things happen for once? But no, he always has to run off on his own, doing his own thing..."

Your body's not a canvas, wash that thing off and pick on your girlfriend. • Ic: Danerys had her team of diggers incessantly digging through the old temple complex she had discovered. As she entered her dreams, she could read the writing on the walls of the buildings as they became exposed, and with each sigil they seemed to beckon her onward, deeper into the mountainside, further into the lives of the Valkyr. It consumed her mind just as she consumed its essence. It drove her.Like a commander leading her troops, Danerys urged her helpers to shovel the dirt away, and they did so over the course of weeks. But the labour had its toll, as did the infatuation. Dany did not care about anything other than the excavation, and it almost drove her mad, tyrannically pushing the volunteers on. They eventually became disenchanted with it, and some left. The others, however, were saddled with her, and she ensured it. She hadn't killed anyone -- yet -- though she had taken to threatening them with fireballs if they did not work on her schedule. And so they did, though everyone longed for the end. The only problem was that with each pebble moved, a new sign was uncovered, and the scope of the dig was greater. It seemed to have been built to be an archeologist's trap. But the end was slowly coming in sight, and Danerys did not even allow her workers to rest at night in her anticipation. When a reprieve was even afforded, she only pushed them harder. Finally, they had had enough. "Stop!" one yelled. The rest were too tired to argue, so they eagerly stopped at the sound of the word. "We've had enough of this madness," he declared. "Danerys has threatened us long enough, forced us to toil long enough. She is a madwoman who does not deserve our sweat and blood any more than we deserve to shed it!""Yeah!" the people shouted, rallying around their newfound leader. "She hasn't given us the rewards she promised. All we have so far is dirt, dirt and strange carvings. Let's do what we've been wanting to do!" he yelled. At that instant, all the power that man had inherited was shattered as he allowed his followers to go wild. They hefted their tools and took their rage to the walls, shattering the plaster and crushing the stone masonry behind it. Symbols, once sacred and crafted with expert hands by angelic beings, was rendered dust as it was pulverized by steel. And the foreign sounds attracted Danerys like the cry of an injured hapaka summoned a muaka."WHAT IS THIS!?" she bellowed; the earth shook as she trembled in rage at the sight of her precious dig being destroyed. One of the revolters began to say something, but it was too late. Danerys was beyond mad, beyond sheer wrath, beyond all earthly resentment. As she shot her face at the one who dared open his mouth to speak amid the destruction, her anger boiled over into true physical wrath. Almost reflexively, she fired a bolt of flame at the insurgent, literally burning through his armor and turning him into ash. They all stood in silence as they saw this happen, but they were no longer afraid, and even the destruction of their comrade did not deter them. They were just as angry as she was. They were frozen for a moment, unsure as to how to fight back, but they did so at last. And Danerys did not relent her whip. In an instant, she evaporated another man, and concentrated on another, causing his blood to boil, creating a magnificent fountain as he literally exploded in a mass of boiling fumes. The rest fared even more pitifully. The last one remained at last, and Danerys looked on him with supernatural ire. Invigorated and guided by an unseen force, she threw him up in reflex and eviscerated his body in fire just as he hit the wall behind him.Suddenly, she collapsed, as if her powers had left her and her energy, too. She fell to her hands and knees, gasping for breath, for energy, and then looked up. There, through the hole the corpse had formed, was her goal. Shining and glistening like a sun was a box, the box she had been told to retrieve. She leaped up and rushed through the hole, pushing loose plaster and bricks away in her singleminded race against nothing to the device. She touched it.The world faded away...

Utu wasn't surprised the Toa didn't say anything, not much could be said, "And now that you're here we can move to Ga-Koro together, where your Mark will get what it wants and you can be with your people."IC: Tank - Ga-WahiTank looked at the non-Mark Bearers sadly, they were outnumbered now which wouldn't make anything easier for them. Not to mention how much easier it would for them to be handled in a way they may not find pleasing. Tank came to a sudden realization about why they were still being brought along. Aside from the obvious of them informing Ta-Koro authorities their whereabouts. But now was not the time. There was just too much going on to think.

  • Ic: The world faded away..."It's you," Danerys said as she looked into the eyes of the Valkyr. She had a reckoning moment as she became instantly aware of what she was in. "I'm dreaming again.""Yes," the Valkyr said simply."Was it you who empowered me? That made me do what I did?" she asked."No," he said just as succinctly."Then who?" she asked worriedly."Dany, there is more to this than you can see with your eyes, physical and metaphysical. I am not the only Valkyr, here or elsewhere. There is much that I must tell you about us, as a people," he said as he walked away, his brilliantly white wings spreading out, soaking in the sun that shone lovingly on the toa and her guardian angel."Tell me," she said in a breathy tone, eager for more knowledge, earnest for more wisdom. "Tell me everything while I'm here.""Then come," he said, and the earth swallowed the pair in clouds as they melted into the white, wispy earth. The sound of thunder permeated the realm, and the two beings were given a view of a fantastic city. Mountains, green and lush, surrounded the polis, and the city itself was constructed of gleaming alabaster pillars and temples, a Greco metropolis that was as grand as it was beautiful. "This land is called Arcadia, the ancestral home of the Valkyr, and we are looking at a city-state in this realm that is known as Ashantara. Or was, rather."The city was suddenly evaporated by a vast expanding ball of teal energy, and the sky turned red with fire and brimstone as the earth itself, once emerald and beautiful, became mottled brown and scarred. "A powerful Valkyr named Ahadica triggered this event in the Age of Heroes, and with her destruction of her city and several surrounding ones, she catapulted an ancient and fearsome rivalry into a full-scale civil war," the Valkyr narrated. "In the wake of her reality-warping force, the land of Arcadia gradually fell apart like a crusty flatbread." The scene crew cracks and fell apart under Danerys and her liege, and a new visage came into view. It was one of destruction, death and decay personified."The Valkyr people split apart into two factions in this civil war, one being led by a deity called Asmodeus, the others being followers of the True Faith. The followers of Asmodeus eventually reconnected with Ahadica, and after being involved with their own intrigue, vanished when Asmodeus abandoned them. In truth, however, Asmodeus had left their company because of Ahadica and her powers. She violated his laws and put his plans to the test, and he lost his game. Asmodeus was a demon, and he had lost control of his minions. Ahadica became the leader of this group as they disappeared."But Asmodeus was not finished. He revisited the people who remained, scattered and disorganized, not as advanced as their other, more blessed sister organization. They had remained peaceful, but when their demon returned, they grew corrupted, and they, too, were divided once again, this time among themselves." The picture of walking saints in a row came into view, and Dany watched as they stood in a circle and chanted. "By this time, they had devolved into the ancient traditions, more martial and disciplined with their selves instead of mastering their environment, and they delved into the ancient practices of magic. They had purged the energies that gave them access to their 'elements,' believing in greater power that came from within."Using their old arts, they destroyed Asmodeus once and for all, and his spirit was shattered and cast out of reality. But his impact would live on. The Valkyr who were tainted by his iniquity remained stained, and they united themselves, disappearing from view to create their own brotherhood. The others, the good ones, united themselves, too, and went into a self-imposed exile. It was this group who found Mata Nui long ago. Here, they served as guides, mentors, healers, protectors, and were known by the matoran as 'angels.' They lived in secret harmony."This time, the images became more familiar. The valleys of Ko-Wahi, the meadows of Ko-Wahi, the waters of Ga-Wahi, all were there, though on many, gleaming temples dotted their surfaces. "They created shrines, palaces, temples, monasteries, abbeys, all hidden from those not in tune with their true Faith, safe from interlopers and non-believers... All in the name of their True Faith. My faith." Danerys was shown the one she was studying as it was being built, Valkyr around it slowly heaping gold on silver, building the vast construct. "This was their main complex, their magnum opus. But it was not to be."Like before, the area became bleak, red and oranges clashed with the serenity of the land, blending it with little reverence. "The dark ones came, too, and fought a catastrophic battle in the flesh, clandestinely waging their age-old feud away from Matoran eyes. In the end, neither side could win in sword against sword, armor against armor, and so both sides did the same: they vanished from the physical realm, I among them.""So... You are real..." Danerys said, realizing that this being was not just a figment of her imagination, a vision granted by the walls."There was once a time that I could have shared your realm with you, but no longer. The angels have not permeated your dreams for a very long time, and our buildings, once grand, have long since lapsed into decay. But we still exist in this place, and here we plot each others' demise."Dany, the power that controlled you in your rage was not me or any of the followers of the True Faith, but a member of the dark brotherhood. They seek to reenter your realm by possessing your kind, by cheating. You cannot allow that to happen. But they have already chosen you, I know. There is no way to avoid it.""Then what do you suggest?" she asked."You are already in this war, whether you will it or not. What I am about to suggest is something that has not been done yet, but it must be done if you are not to become one of their vassals.""Anything," Dany said."You will become a Valkyr, and your essence will be shared in this realm as with your own. When you wake up in your realm, the directions will be on a scroll in your hand. This ancient script is of magic, and it will require some sacrifices, but that is the price to pay if you want to save not only the Valkyr, but your own dimension, too.""I will do so," Dany said, confident. But that willingness unsettled the Valkyr."So you say, but I can only hope. Good luck, Danerys. I wish you well.Reality returned...
