"Pleasure to meet you, Kotak. I assume you're waiting for your trial?"

It was then that Detrix came to his senses with a few words of his own.

"Zero! Is that you?" He leaned on the bar casually. "Aw, sister, you have aged like a fine wine! I think that's a compliment; I could never afford wine myself."

She laughed at that. "You as well, ya old coot!" She gave him a sturdy slap on the back. "It's been too long."

She paused to down her shot greedily, savoring the warm sensation as she swallowed.

"So what brings you back to the wild side? You looking for work? I had assumed you quit years ago."

    IC: NPC Kain

The Toa didn't respond. Instead, he began approaching the toll booth with his knife drawn.

"Well, if thats how you want to play, okay." Kain muttered to himself, watching the man's movements carefully.

It was only a matter of time now.

"Trial?" Zealot asked. He wondered why Kotak would have introduced himself as "Sentinel" if he had not been initiated. "This is most irregular" it was no secret that the Zealot was a man of tradition, "if this toa has not been officially tried, Im afraid I must protest." He said boldly

"Easy, mate," he said to Zealot, "he did have a fight. It's just the person he fought kinda gave up. Technically speakin', he did take part in a trial, and he did pass."

As can be assumed of one aptly named for zeal and passion, "taking it easy" was not a natural talent. "If I may protest, master Veteran," he said coldly, "I feel it unjust that he can DEFAULT to a title we others had to EARN."

"Which is why he's waitin' for a rematch against a more worthy opponent." He replied, "Remember, the point of the trials weren't to win, just to demonstrate one's skills. And 'spite the circumstances, Sentinel here succeeded in that regard."

"Well, til it turned out stealing from 'em paid better." 'Krian' commented, a faint smirk contorting his mouth. His visible eye took in the guards manning the gate, noting what details he could make out. Weapons, species, anything he might find useful later.

"Merchants just don't pay like they used to. Their fault, really. Don't suppose you lot left any decent restaurants intact in there."

"Well then, why don't you two hash it out in the arena? I can't recall seeing much of Kotak's skills in action yet, and am very interested to know what he's capable of."

She regarded them both with a flare of excitement blazing in her eyes.

    "What say you?"

    IC: NPC Kain

The Ta-Matoran was anticipating the shot, and rolled behind the corner of the wall for cover. The capsule whizzed by and exploded upon impact with the snow just a few feet away, the force pushing him backwards onto his rear.

Due to the outpost's U-shaped structure, Kain was much closer to the nearest entrance than the Toa. He needed to get help before this madman caused serious structural damage.

Without a moment's hesitation, he scrambled for the door and slipped inside, slamming it shut behind him. He then yelled for help at the top of his lungs while he sprinted down the left wing hallway.

"INTRUDER! I NEED BACKUP OVER HERE!"

"I am the blade of Mata Nui. It is my duty to maintain sobriety for the enforcement of his law and justice" he said proudly

An anticipatory smile grew on the features of the Rode, it's ancient writings glowing brilliantly blue, "Gladly." He grinned.

The Toa tapped his staff to the ground, the shaft retreating leaving only the sword. He attached it to his wrist for the close quarters battle. With his left hand he beckoned for the rest to follow. He marched down the halls with intent, ready to defend his home

"Oy!" The barman walked out to where the Toa was firing at the walls "Why dontcha try a marr fashionable hobby?" He pulled one of his prized stones from his holster, pouring vodka from his flask. "'Ere" He approached, extending the stien "'ave a drank"

The Su-Skakdi walked calmly behind the others as they rushed off.

"Feel free to tag along, D." she said over her shoulder.

Kain was panting against the wall, his face ghostly white. She undid her pouch of widgets and threw it at him, which seemed to perk him up quite a bit. He scurried off to watch through the window.

The cable car station opening was exposed to pale sunlight, and it bounced and danced along her armor as she stepped out into the snow. The 'intruder' seemed to have dropped his weapon already, oddly enough, and stood defiantly before Kotak, Zealot, Veteran, and Yeri. Zero's eyes widened as Yeri gave the guy a piece of his mind. It came out of nowhere, and his sudden outburst caused her to view him much differently than before. The oddballs were always the most intriguing to her, as they usually gave off a first impression that in no way defined their true capabilities.

The leader of The Outsiders stood at the top of the station incline.

"Extra room?" she asked. "You expect us to give you room and board after you start shooting up the place?"

Zero was not one to waste her time, so she was eager to get this all sorted out as quickly as possible. Obsidian was well-accustomed to travelers and common folk passing through, but arsonists? Anarchists?

    Not on my turf, wretch.

"That kind of behavior can get you arrested, you know." she sated cooly. She approached the Toa steadily, her wrist siphon trained at his head.

An image of Enforcer with his rifle aimed at her flashed before her eyes, but she forced it from her mind and regained her focus on her target.

"I suggest you leave. If you weren't aware, we are the local law enforcement around here. Walk away now, or take your place behind bars, it's your choice."

Her eyes pierced the very air. If the Toa remained belligerent she could easily kill him, or put him in the cell until the next Ihu-Koroan envoy came through. Either way she was growing very irritable.

Ended up getting chased outta town by moral alarmists after I acquired some property in the aftermath of all our natural disasters, the Nui-Rama hive business and all. Now that I'm in my senescent years, I do some funding and promotion of up and coming products that tickle my fancy."

Whipping a shaker cup from his satchel and depositing equal parts sludge-greybrown powder and water inside, he shook it vigorously for several moments. "Like this right here, all natural supplemental food stuff, for skinny boys like yourself looking to grow up big and strong." The chalice offered to the red toa was full of a vaguely chocolate scented slurry.

It was then that she, with a short laugh, turned off her Volitak. Sat on a rock, the Fa-Toa looked at the blast marks from the Stralix Powder shells.

"Indeed, such foolishness. Firing explosives at one's home is hardly the way to make friends, isn't it?" She asked, sliding off the rock.

"People need to learn some manners."
