Optimus ignored Kali's joke."Yeh. After all, we a-fought a huge war in public. About 30 times.""And won. Big Guy here dueled the enemy leader and killed him. After that the Order of Phantoms just...wasn't the same.""They accidentally killed themselves, to be blunt.""Karz. He'll stop eventually."Ratchet got the snow off, then reversed the force on the spinning to stop it and got everyone down by increasing the gravity. "You, sir, are a tailpipe."

  • IC:A Matoran, trudging his way up the mountainside through the snow, walked by Stannis' team. He passed them, leaned forward and stick in hand, and carried on upwards. Suddenly he turned back, and meandered back through the swath he had cut in the snow, to stand before the group waiting for Stannis. "I don't suppose any of you happen to be called Aurax, or Jarkil, or Lepidran, or Kamnu?" he asked them. "I'm a messenger," he explained. "I've searched high and low for those Matoran, to deliver their messages to them, and so far no luck... do any of you happen to know where they are?"

  • IC:"Well, how convenient!" the Matoran said as though finding two of his recipients at once was a pleasant surprise. "Er, I hope you'll excuse us," he said to the other members of the group, "But their messages are of a somewhat personal nature... Could you give us a moment alone?" The rest of Stannis' group retreated, chatting in a small circle some distance away. The Matoran gestured for Aurax and Lepidran to huddle closer to him, and he spoke in a quiet voice that would be lost on the strong wind to any outside listeners."The message I have is for both of you... and it's less a message than an offer. Would you be open to hearing it?"

In finding the true nature of these mysteries, you will be lead to the larger design. What I am asking of you both is related to this grand design, the intricate pattern that prophecy constantly weaves. Instead of riddling after the loose threads that you have found, I ask both of you to embrace that you are threads."The Matoran laid his forehead in his head and groaned. "Forgive me," he said, "I'm being convoluted. What I mean to say is that you, Aurax, and you, Lepidran, have roles to play in the Great Spirit's destiny. You are currently the seekers of mysteries; I am telling you that both of you have the choice to become still more involved; you are, in fact, destined to tread a far more dangerous and significant path, a path of prophecy."

  • OOC: Gunner (and the Infernavika) from Onu-Wahi.IC: Gunner - Ko-Wahi/InfernavikaThe first thing Gunner noticed upon the ship's arrival into Ko-Wahi, was the cold. That was generally the first thing everyone noticed about the region, but then again, it was very apparent. Within the first minute of sailing into the land of ice and snow, frost had already begun to form on the Toa's coat and armour, and his alcohol-stained breath was visible to anyone within a few feet.Ko-Wahi. Why the karz did it have to be Ko-Wahi? he thought to himself miserably, pulling his overcoat tighter around him to try and keep that odd prickly feeling in his throat away. The last thing he needed out here was a cold.Turning his attention away from the cold (or at least doing his best to), Gunner shuffled around to face Grochi again, "L-l-lovely location y-you've p-p-picked for us. • IC:Mariko stood up, gasping as one of his broken ribs jumped back into placed. It must have dislocated during his fall and was no painfully reminding him of its rightful place in his body. When the inital pain subsided, he let out long breath and looked east. "Don't let yourself think for one second that you're to blame for this. This is all on her...thought I doubt she'll loose any sleep about it." His voice trailed off in the cold night, as he went back to the feeling he'd gotten when the Vortixx had made her presence known. She was definitely serving the shadows, but the shadow of her own being paled in comparison to the one that he sensed compelling her...there was something evil at work there that he simply could not comprehend yet.He straightened himself carefully and looked back at his companions. "We should leave." he said. His companions looked at him, a little surprised by the suggestion. "What about those lost in her deed, the dead buried beneath our feet?" Mariko slowly shook his head. "We can not help them now. Whoever she was, she planned this out well enough. Did you see the Matoran? We know it was her, but I don't think the authorities will believe us...they're going to suspect us."The dark Toa looked at Atvin. "You said there was a group of freedom fighters that settled in Pala Koro? If we go there now, maybe we can find help there...I'd rather take my chances with them than the guards."

  • OOC: Khalisk and Twenty Eight to Ko-Wahi from Ga-WahiIC (Khalisk)Khalisk halted to take in the sight before him, he had not expected so dramatic a shift in climate, though he had exceedingly limited experience on this island, so the rational part of his mind proceeded to chew him out for not expecting varied environments while the other parts of his mind put up a dashing defense against it. The ice in this land seemed to go on forever, almost as if this part of the mountain was made of it. Khalisk knew this was impossible of course, more likely then not some event had occurred to raise the temperature around a frozen lake or somesuch and it simply froze gradually as it made it's way down the mountain. Khalisk took some comfort in the cold weather however, it meant that large breeding populations of creatures would have difficulty surviving here.Of course, his elation died quite quickly when another bit of knowledge drifted up to the surface, pointing out that while the creatures he had encountered upon his arrival would have difficulty surviving here, it was quite likely that other creatures, adopted to this environment, would not have this problem. Khalisk looked about, trying to bring his good eye to bear. "I can't see any village near here. If we do not locate one soon, I will not take responsibility for the fact we will freeze to death."

  • OOC: Yasurek from Onu-WahiIC Yasurek-Infernavika:As the ship headed into Ko-wahi, a chill came over the ship and it's crew. Yasurek, being anative of this place shrugged and resumed his observation of the shore as they slowly moved onwards. Grochi had earlier mentioned that the ship was headed to Le-wahi or something, but Yasurek still had no clue why, and was pretty sure nobody else on the crew apart from Grochi knew.A small iceberg floated past the ship, pushed to and fro by the currents and waves formed by the wind and the ship itself. It wasn't particularly interesting. He turned his gaze to the island itself, to Mt Ihu in all it's majesty. Somewhere up oin that mountain was Ko-koro, his home, or what used to be his home. He hadn't returned there since he first left after getting fed up with guard work. The laws were just so restrictive on what could and couldn't be done, even when one was working to keep the peace. Yasurek had always been more talkative than most Ko-koroans, so he had always been a bit odd, but his way of catching criminals had worked just fine. Sure, chasing after the criminals directly was high profile and harmful to the peaceful atmosphere, but criminals ran. How else were you supposed to catch runners. Besides, that house was knocked over by the gravity toa, not him. Yasurek thought about the various elements of toa. Gravity is definitely up there on the Most Annoying to Chase List for sure, he thought. Right up there with magnetism and iron. He had been in bad situations involving those types of toa. Since that day he still refused to go near any cliffs while in the vicinity of those toa.A wave of nostalgia washed over him. There had been good times protecting the koro to be sure, but the bad times just stood out more. He had left to become a pirate, but the crew really didn't ever seem to do much in the way of piratical activities. Of course, this was the crew of the Infernavika, but still, you'd expect there to be money to be involved or something. The crew hadn't even done anything about that manipulative guy who caused that big pointless naval battle back in Po-wahi. What happened to that?Yasurek turned and observed the deck. Nothing particularly interesting was happening. Might as well practice, he thought. He drew his two crystal spears and held them in front of him, feeling the weight of the tips and sensing the balance of the weapons. Though the spears were identical in appearence and were obviously twins, there were differences in each one that made it difficult to use them interchangeably. Yasurek had practiced with them for many days and knew the ins and outs. The many spears in the sheathe on his back rustled in the wind. Each one was unique, in materials, shape and length. Some had tips like standared guard spears, others had pointy tips, some were harpoons. Some were metal, some were wood, some were a mix. Each was special and Yasurek had taken the time to learn each and every one to the point that he could switch them out without hesitation and continue fighting. Not that I ever end up fighting opponents that are actually at my level, he thought with irritation. Nope, it's always this here super powered toa, or this here skadi with laser eyes, or this here vortixx with whatever tech they have. He blinked, clearing the annoyance from his mind. He returned his focus to his spears. A deep breath to prepare for his training and then he began. His spears started whirling and the matoran began his manuvers. Thrusts, strikes, dodging at random intervals, the matoran and weapons were one. a pole vault with one spear into a downwards thrust from the other, a block followed by a swing, a springboard off of both into a kick. Yasurek made sure to switch up his attacks to prevent repetition. Each one could end up needing to be used after any another. After a few solid minutes of exercises with just his crytstal spears, he took a moment to rest before beginning to practice more. This time he was working to improve his ability to switch spears mid-fight to make use of their individual strengths. He contined to practice, all while hoping that something interesting would happen on the ship.

Aurax raised his eyebrows. What was it that Stannis had said? We are heroes. We may not look the part, but we act it, and actions speak far louder than words. Aurax could see Stannis' words coming true before him. He locked eyes with the Matoran. "We will play whatever role Mata-Nui has set aside for us. We accept this duty, to travel down the path of prophecy" he said.

  • OOC: Are you committing Lepidran, too? I hope so, I want to get a move on...IC:"I am glad to hear it," the Matoran responded, smiling. "I knew you would be willing to do what it takes to finally challenge the rule of darkness. Others have tried and failed; you and the others will be the only exceptions." For a moment, a look of confusion crossed the Matoran's face, as though he was trying to recall something just beyond remembering. He seemed to dismiss the sensation as nothing, for he nodded to himself and spoke again. "You both may not see me again for a time. I will hopefully reconvene with you and the others once you have all been gathered. I'm sorry I can't say more, there isn't much time, and there are too many ears here."The Matoran started back up the mountain, turning back to inform Aurax and Lepidran: "I must go speak to Stannis. He will tell you what I cannot. Follow him, for he is the Wanderer." With that, the Matoran continued to trudge along in the snow. He was soon lost from view.

  • OOC: Yeah, I am, since I know it's important to get this moving.IC, Aurax: Aurax looked on as the Matoran left. "What others? And what does he mean by, 'The only exceptions...?'" he muttered to himself. Then it clicked. Part of the line of the prophecy that Stannis had told the group had said, "to seek hidden lines and follow the signs will make them the only exceptions." This must be what that part of the prophecy was talking about, Aurax thought. Me, Lepridan, Stannis... and whatever others there are will challenge the darkness, and we'll be the only exceptions. When Stannis returns, I must speak to him about this.

  • IC:Deep in the snowy wastes of Ko-Wahi, hanging on the edge of a hard-to-reach slope on Mount Ihu, a dangerous place few adventurers dared tread, a sort of building lay. It was shaped as a pyramid, snow hitting it and rolling off its smooth edges. It had one opening at the front, and through the diaphanous film that guarded the doorway, heat and light issued outward from ever-tended fires.Within that academy, temple, and library, sat a man. He wore dark robes, with steely plates of armour along some of the weaker spots, though the robes were armour enough themselves. He had a steely gray Matatu on, as well as a glint of white showing at the neck of his robes. He read a scroll as he sat in silence, the sole occupant of the pyramid-like building.Outside, a Muaka growled. He payed it no notice-they had long since learned to avoid this place. A few of their number had died here, their icily mummified corpses hanging on what of the cliff was not taken up by the building. The Toa within the academy rolled up his scroll, replacing it where he had taken it from his personal library within the pyramid-like building. He had a gut feeling that soon, another being would show up at the academy, though he wasn't sure. Not many adventurers came this way, and still less were willing to accept his teachings. But he had time.
