IC: Bullseye, Toxin and Punch/Counterpunch3rd Person, Punch's POV/Causeway
Fang didnt seem to realize that Bullseye, Punch/Counterpunch, and the newly arrived Toxin had listened as well. Neither of them left a comment.
IC: Root - Causeway
Root's noble head was full of befuddlement. Should he try to get a safe distance away, or would that only infuriate his nemesis further? Root thought back through all the books he had ever read, but alas, he could not recall one where the hero was confronted with a previous adversary, now peaceful! Was it a trap? Was it genuine? Oh, why could real beings not act as their literary counterparts!
"Th-th-thank you?" He hesitantly offered. Perhaps it would console his wrath for the time being.
IC Vaalku
Vaalku happened to glance over. Exxan, Rubberahk, Bullseye, Punch, Toxin and Kat were standing near Fang. If anyone of them happened to go over the edge just a little-
He made sure to keep an eye on them.
IC: Revenge-Causeway
"Do you think it will start soon?" Revenge asked Vaalku.
IC Vaalku
"I hope so. There's already been one fight in the waiting time..." he motioned to the crowd around Fang. "And there might just be another."
IC: Claws
Claws whimpered. Next to Fang was the one who murdered Omega. He hid behind Revenge.
IC: Revenge-Causeway
"What's wrong claws." Revenge looked where Vaalku had motioned. "I saw him in the infirmary," he said pointing at fang. "Is that the Rahkshi who was friends with Omega?"
IC Vaalku
"Yes." He pointed to Exxan and Rubberahk. "And those are the ones that want him dead."
IC: Deadeye
Deadeye chuckled. "Don't worry Root, for now we are at a truce."
IC: Revenge-Causeway
"Well, lets hope they keep their heads and don't do anything stupid."
IC Vaalku
Vaalku was hoping just that. He bet down and picked up claws softly. "So, what's been going on with you lately?"
IC: Claws
Claws click happily when he was picked up by Vaalku.
IC: Revenge-Causeway
Revenge smiled. "I hope Rider gets here soon."
IC Vaalku
Vaalku smiled and stroked claws. "He's gonna need something back."
IC Kat:
I was.... Speechless.
Honest, I was.
I had nothing, no quips, no witty remarks.
I didn't know others had gone raiding on the way here, I'd been on my own.
"I.... I don't..... It......"
Oh, Makuta, get a grip!
We had all been like that, early on. Violent, instinct prone.
"It... It's not your fault," I all but whispered.
IC: Rider
As the twin torrents came towards him, Rider sprang forward onto the rock, driving his sword into it. Slowly he climbed his way upwards. Claws hopped onto Rider's back as he sprang.
IC: (Snake/Gym--->Causeway)
Hanging onto one side of the wall, Snake could just make out a repeated smashing sound emanating from the other side...What the karz is he doing? He-- He's climbing!
At that moment, two porters rolled in, the momentum of the Gym's shape meaning that they hardly had to put any effort in.
One rolled passed the wall and out of Snake's vision, while the other went to Snake's side.
Their message was blared loudly in hollow monotone voices.
Another assignment...that would make three...
Cautiously, Snake edged round the wall, speaking before he rounded the corner so that Rider didn't attack him:
"I'm gonna go to the next assignment at the Causway. See ya there."
With that, he sped away.
IC: (Raith/Near Nynrah--->Causeway)
After some time, Raith had managed to re-paint her armour into it's dappled, stealthy, shades of bluish-grey. The paint, after being used the first time, had been hidden in a cavern beneath one of the rocky red plains.
In the darkness, she faded into the background like...well, a wraith.
As she neared the Causway, she noticed a large crowd of rahks...what was this?
Then it struck her: it was another assignment on Nynrah, just like the last.
Silently, she alighted on a rock and blended seamlessly into the bustling crowd.
IC: (Torch/Hallways--->Causeway)
Torch had been trudging wearily back to his dorm when one of the adorable little rolling creatures had sped past him, making a beeping sound.
Intrigued, he had followed it, running to keep pace with the surprisingly fast spheroid robot.
Eventually it stooped in one of the main dorm wings, speaking a message in it's hollow robotic voice.
Torch was overjoyed: His fist assignment! This was going to be very fun indeed!
Torch, happy as can be, sped over to the Causeway.
IC: Jayar / Gym
Whatever Hoto had been through, it must have taken a heavy toll. Not on her body, on her mind. A series of sentences occurred to Jayar, expressing his concern, comforting her. None of them could say enough.
He channeled those feelings into action instead, capable of saying so much more, and embraced Hoto.
IC Poly:
We saw a strange Rahkshi blend with the crowd.
Others might disregard them, but we?
No, we were observer, so we saw.
They moved unnoticed by most.
~like us~
*by choice? or simply ignored, as we are?*
Curious.
We moved closer to the dappled one.
OoC that's you, Sil.
IC: Root - Causeway
Each new explanation was doing nothing to relieve Root's confusion, but he was done arguing. He would accept it for now, but warily. Should Deadeye make any sudden moves, Root would not hesitate to strike in self-defense.
"S-s-so, n-n-now what?"
IC: Fang - Causeway
Fang just shook his head. "We always have a choice. That's why the Makuta are so interested in us. That day, I chose the easy way out, for the moment. I removed the problem rather than finding a way around." It sounded so... sterilized, like he had been describing a rock wedged in his armor. It was devoid of all the emotional turmoil that followed. He gave Exxan a brief glance, but couldn't hold it long.
"It was all my fault. I was the one who accepted Omega. I knew what it was doing to him, but I thought it was best. I thought... I could be there... But when he needed me... I was too weak."
To finally say it was an odd feeling, newly painful and relieving at the same time.
IC: Hoto - Gym
It felt good to be in the arms of a friend, someone who didn't think she was worthless. "I'm... I'm sorry... for running off like that. I just... I've had a lot of bad days since. But every day I've spent too sick to move, or every village I walked in, hoping to get help or food, and been stoned out... None of that compares to the complete isolation and betrayal of that day. It... it still hurts."
IC: (Raith/Causeway)
A flicker of movement out of the corner of her eye, the same colour every time, the same being. The barely audible sound of footsteps, staying at the same volume in relation to Raith.
Someone was following her.
She turned, with no apparent haste, to the rahk who was behind her.
Unfamiliar.
"Who?"
IC Poly:
We respond simply, "We are Legion. And you are curious to us."
IC Kat:
"You made a bad call. You can't let that get to you forever. We all have to accept the consequences of our actions, good or bad."
IC: As the crowd of students gathered in front of the waters around Nynrah some...thing burst out of them. Some giant thing in scales of black. It skittered onto the beach on a series of segmented legs, six in total, its blunt hammer of a head framed by chitinous antenna and a pair of fanged jaws. Scales and spikes of all manner crowded its carapace, which had further plates of metal screwed onto it. It had no eyes, just a blotchy and angular panel of red on each side of its face, almost like the compound eyes of an insect. Its sinuous body trailed off into a series of frills, fins and tails in some manner if propulsion system. It radiated power and instilled fear.
Some of the more knowledgable students had heard of things like this. The cast off shells of some ancient leviathan species, gathered up by brave fishermen and repurposed by genius engineers into all-purpose transports: Terrain Crawlers.
Suvak emerged from the cockpit of the massive vehicle as other hatches opened up along its bulk to reveal seating areas.
"Well, what are you waiting for? All aboard!"
OOC: Don't know if Zelnos or Palma healed Stronghold, so I guess he'll sit this one out...or will he?
IC: All characters/3rd Person/Causeway
Stronghold woke up earlier, feeling slightly better, and when he read the note Toxin he left, he quickly ran down the hall. "Wait for me!"
Bullseye, Toxin, and Punch was getting on when they heard a shout. Stronghold was running down the hall, his side was still dented but he managed to heal just enough to move his left side. Bullseye sighed as Stronghold sat in between Toxin and Punch.
IC: Revenge-Causeway
"Come on Vaalku, lets go!" Revenge turned to get on to the machine.
IC: Booger-Causeway
"Later Nerds!" Booger rushed onto the transport.
IC - Terrain Crawler
Caoutchouc quite literally squeezed into the... Sub? That was a close enough term. The vessel was gonna get pretty crowded.
IC: Jayar / Gym
"It's okay," said Jayar gently. "You arrived here, and found me... And Kat, and Fang, and Era... We won't abandon you like those others. We are capable of recognizing true worth."
Faint sounds of some uproar outside filtered into the Gym, which was unusually quiet, since most students were outside for the assignment. Jayar heard Suvak's voice, though it was from too far away for him to discern any words. He glanced towards the door.
"Are you still up for the assignment?" he asked Hoto.
IC: Vlad / Causeway
Vlad descended towards the Terrain Crawler apprehensively. Quarters would be close inside, which meant he would have a large chance of annoying someone during the trip. Nevertheless, he entered the vessel, Ivan close behind and equally apprehensive.
OOC: Vlad open to interaction.
Ic: Hashan & Rotary & Siren
They looked at the... Thing. Siren knew it was a crawler, Hashan looked disgusted at the fact that they were going to get in that thing, while Rotary was ready for everything. They all climbed into the creature.
IC: Glass
"Err..."
Glass was a little unsure on what to do with Xara touching him, and being so close.
"I'm fine. That was actually pretty funny, so yeah..."
IC: Xara - Causeway.
"Okay... if you're sure..." I still wasn't entirely convinced, "...let's get going, then." We set off, reaching the Causeway just in time to see Suvak and his terrain crawler explode up out of the water. "Well, that's not something you see every day."
________________________________________________________________________________
IC: The Twins (Silencer) - Causeway.
I nodded to my brother and pushed off the wall, straightening to my feet. "Let's do this." He nodded, sliding his staff across his back and jumping up into the vehicle. I followed, hauling myself up beside him and sitting down on one of the chairs.
I couldn't help but wonder where we would be travelling to this time.
________________________________________________________________________________
IC: Exxan - Causeway.
Now I found my voice. "What happened to Omega wasn't your fault. It was nothing to do with you. It was between him... and me. Don't let his death weigh on your conscience when it had nothing to do with you. What would you have done? You were in no condition to do anything, and I doubt he would have listened to you anyway." I looked away from him as Suvak appeared with what I recognised to be a Terrain Crawler. I wanted to have a talk with Suvak, but that could wait until later.
I turned back to Fang. "Now, if you're done beating yourself up over something that wasn't your fault, can we get going?"
IC All my characters.
They all entered the thing.
IC Mar'jik:
Mar'jik entered.
IC Clockwork:
Clockwork arrived in time to see the craft. Without hesitation he got in
IC: Rain - Causeway
Rain flinched as the huge... whatever it was burst from the waves. It was beautiful, in a functional way. The plates and mechanics melded together smoothly and harshly all at once. She just stood there with arms crossed, critiquing it for a moment, imagining the brush strokes and colors she could use to mimic the design. But she shook herself out of it and grabbed her employer. "Come on then!" She shouted as she ran off towards it, dragging the silver Rahk.
IC: Root - Causeway
Root used the momentary distraction to try and slip away from Deadeye and all his oddities and boarded the Crawler. His every plant quivered with nervous energy. So, this is what it felt like to truly embark on an adventure! He had completely underestimated the experience in his reading. Uncertainty of his fate and his quest mingled with the promise of heroics and glory. He found himself smiling under his coat.
IC: Hoto - Gym
Hoto gave a weak smile at Jayar's reassuring words. Maybe she couldn't fight, but at least she had friends that would fight for her.
She could hear something happening at the Causeway, the sounds of excited Rahkshi and something big echoing down the halls. She took a deep breath and tried to level her voice. "I... I'll go. I need to do this."
They... she could not tolerate failure. Not now.
IC: Fang - Causeway
The emerging of the vehicle didn't seem to phase Fang in his state. He was thinking Kat and Exxan's words over. He wanted to argue. This was his acceptance of an unacceptable crime. It could not be over all at once. Exxan never would have went after Omega if it wasn't for him. Omega wouldn't have died believing he was just a traitor if not for him.
But now was not the time. He had to let go of all that for now and be the leader he had to be. Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet and wielded Venom. Some of that familiar fire returned to his eyes.
"Come on, then. What are we waiting for?"
OOC:
Exxan never would have went after Omega if it wasn't for him.
It was Omega who went after Exxan, remember?
IC: Exxan - Causeway.
I couldn't help myself. I smiled. Here was the determined, fiery Fang I knew. "We were waiting for you," I reminded him.
IC: Flash | Terrain Crawler
Flash entered the crawler and took a seat.
IC: Zelnos | Causeway
Zelnos shook his head. "This will be my first one." The Terrain Crawler came up to the surface. "After you."
OOC: Flash open for interaction.
IC: Booger-Terrain Crawler
Booger wanted a seat near the front. On his way over he made sure to step on as many feet as possible.
IC Kat: I smiled.
There he is.
That's my Fang.
"Come on, we'll never find a place to sit if we wait around here all day!"
I jumped up into the nearest of the strange vehicles.
IC Poly:
It seemed our curiousity would have to wait.
We took one more look at the Dappled one, committing their movements, and armor structure to memory.
We would find them again later.
We boarded one of the terrain crawlers, but did not sit. We preferred to stand.
OoC poly and Kat open for interaction.
IC: Squid
Squid stood there awestruck, looking at the beautiful vehicle in front of him. He managed to mutter "We're going on a field trip!" Before he went with Rain into the transport.
IC: Jayar / Gym-->Causeway
"Let's go then," he said, exiting, not without slight reluctance, the embrace, and walking towards the door and out into the hall. He hoped Hoto would follow and outpace him with her usual vigorous speed. It would be a reassuring sign that she was feeling better.
IC: Vlad / Terrain Crawler
No one was sitting near Vlad. That was unsurprising. He wondered how long it would be before the crawler would fill almost to capacity, forcing someone to sit by him... and who they might be.
OOC: Vlad still open to interaction.
IC; Era - Causeway.
I was hesitant at first, making sure I had a firm handhold to pull myself up. "This is my first time as well," I told Zelnos once I had climbed up. "Apart from the scenario assignment in the library, that is. I wonder if my other friends are coming along for this one as well."
IC: Booger-Terrain Crawler
Booger found a seat. "HI shiny!" He said to the Rahkshi next to him. "Is you're Kraata fried yet!"
IC: Dodge-256 and Green
Both Rahkshi wordlesslt entered the Terrain Crawler.
