IC: NikaronCautiously Nikaron walked over and retrieved his weapons, still on guard he waited for his opponent to make his next move.
OOC: All combat written to "I am the Doctor Remix."IC: Dail raised an eyebrow--he'd changed the temperature of the air she'd used. Not certain how that had broken her hold, but it wouldn't happen again. She easily deflected the ice dagger with a short chop with her dagger, and sheathed it again. Then she spread her air-sense.The air served her, and hot of cold, it made no difference. Of course, it did make a difference when the being insisted on making all the air around him cold--he appeared like a lightstone mine in the underdark of Onu-Wahi, minus the blinding effects. She found him easily."Someone warn everyone in the building!" She said, then dashed off in pursuit. it took her less than a minute to reach him (it's hard to run far in such a short time, especially in a confined space and with a lightly armed opponent chasing you), but this time she was invisible. When she struck, it was without warning. Hiemalis found himself in the middle of a vacuum, with no air to breathe, and the vacuum sucking the air from his lungs and trying to pull his body apart.![]()
IC: NikaronNikaron followed behind Dail, and watched as the Toa attempted to send Hiemalis into unconsciousness. He had an electrified dagger ready in case the Ko-Toa tried anything.
IC - Kol Uskey - HospitalUskey felt a deep sense of dread. The massacre had begun, and he couldn't do anything. He never could've done anything. And the worst part? If Hiemalis was being completely truthful, he was doing this because of him. The soldier laid back, exasperated."Doctor!" he called out.
Ic: Jaron, however, had made a grave mistake: He had split off from the rest. In the darkness and flikering shapes, however, he could faintly see a vanishing person or thing, there one frame, gone the next. On edge and on his guard, he gripped his gladius firmly and gulped. Strange sounds like that of crunching ice could be heard around him.Left.Right.Behind him.He turned, but nothing was there. In front of him.Above him!Suddenly, two long arms reached down and siezed him by the shoulders and popped his arms out of their sockets. His weapon clattered loosely on the floor beneath him as he was lifted away, and he could see it fall as he was sucked into the vents above the hallways.Blackness. Darkness. Nothing could be discerned except for the glowing eyes of Hiemalis. Jaron had been outwitted. Hiemalis plunged his sword into the toa's heartlight and carrued him elsewhere in the narrow dark confines of the vents. A moment later, he came to another place that fell into a hallway and dropped the unconcious and gravely wounded toa down there, as a warning for the others to not trifle with Hiemalis.Ooc: I didn't kill him outright, though a heartlight plunge does kill in most circumstances.
IC: EmotiaEmotia decided to watch the exit-way, if the villain wanted to flee the building, he'd have to come back this way. IC: SkyraSkyra looked in horror as Jaron fell from the ventilation. "Jaron!" He yelled as he rushed over to him, falling to his knees and touching Jaron's wounds. "No...no, no, no....NO!" Skyra got up and looked at the ceiling. His fists shaking and stained with blood. "You're gonna pay for this! You hear me!?"
IC-Jaron:Jaron gasped audibly, blood flowing from his chest. He had barely managed to bring up his hau-shield in time, but the thin shield barely deflected the blow. His heartlight was thankfully unscathed, but his lung had been punctured and he could barely breathe. He crawled away from the hallway, towards where Skyra was, and collapsed at the Toa of Air's feet.OOC: Good job, EW, you took him out of the fight. And I managed to save him, barely.IC-Hasil and Lashev:"Oh, great," Lashev said, running over to the Toa of Fire and pulling out a first aid kit. He had barely any knowledge when it came to being a medic, but after checking Jaron's vital signs and the book somewhere around fifteen times, he finally managed to make Jaron stable. The Toa of Fire was breathing normally, but he'd be out of the fight for a while. Lashev signalled to Hasil."You stay here, and fight," Lashev said to the taller toa. "I'm taking him out of here." He grabbed the Fire Toa and dragged him out of the hospital, using Sisk's help, and managed to get him away and into the lavapool inn.Hasil nodded and watched the small Ko-Matoran drag out the Toa of Fire with Sisk's help, and he readied himself for battle. He made a short prayer, and stood up."All of you!" He yelled to those gathered. "Follow me! If we can make a wall of sorts, we can manage to at least push him out of the hospital so long as we don't break! I want you to walk four to a hallway, chest to chest, to block him from coming back this way. Get moving!" He checked his av'tlen, and made sure he could whip out his as'ei at a moment's notice. Deciding them well, he watched as the others set themselves up for battle.
IC: NikaronNikaron heard shouting, it seemed someone was calling for a doctor, he turned and cautiously began approaching the location from where the sound was emanating. At the slightest sign of movement his dagger would fly, and impale itself in the target.
IC: Jikal/?? + Laserbeak + KrayzikkIC: Jikal was tracking Hiemalis, though using a different method from the others. Simply put, he was utilizing his control over electricity. Hiemalis, and everyone else on the island, controlled their body using small electrical signals to send messages to the nerves. Thsi was what he was monitoring. When he found electricity where there shouldn't be (Where his allies weren't) he would know Hiemalis' location.Alright, you. You and I don't see eye to eye, but the fact is if I die, you die. So lets work together for once.Fine by me.Jikal closed his eyes, and activated his Mark. He had an increase in power, stemming from Hiemalis' cruelty. He opened them again and they were poison green, as his Mark glowed. He drew one of his long daggers, knowing that his broadsword was useless here. Krayzikk knew he was useless here, so he used his mask to warp until he found Riaril and Laserbeak. "Alright girls, there is a fight in progress. Laserbeak, you and I are going to stay here and protect the doc." Laserbeak nodded.
OOC: I know this will probably be trouble for me...but hey, time to have a little fun.IC:Sisk was helping Lashev as much as he could. Matoran had some strength in them after all, but when they were almost at the door, he heard a sound. "Doctor!?" somebody called out. He froze in his tracks, looking at Lashev, alarmed and listened. The sound didn't repeat itself. But somebody was definitely in the hospital, a patient. And he needed help. He turned back to his Ko-matoran companion. "Go on, you help this one, I'll try to find the voice-caller!"The Le-Matoran didn't even wait for a reply, before jogging off in the direction the cry for help had come from. He drew his batons, a small gesture, compared to the swords, daggers and elemental fighting. But what could he do? Nothing that would stop whoever they were fighting. But he had to try.Terribly frightened and determined, he jogged on, turning a corner...and almost bumped into Nikaron.
IC: NikaronNikaron hand was a blur, he was on high alert, and the appearance of Sisk caused his dagger to fly out at the little Matoran. He didn't have a chance to shout a warning to the little Matoran, he could only hope Sisk had the reflexes to dodge his electrified dagger.
IC:The Matoran just saw something sharp flying at him. He didn't even think about the situation as his body tried to stop and jump back, a move that resulted involuntarily in him waving his arms backwards, still holding his bamboo-weapons. There was the sound of an impact of metal on wood as the dagger was luckily reflected. it sizzled as it hit the wall next to his head and clattered to the floor. Sisk stood there, frozen, staring at Nikaron with wide eyes. Then he saw the other was not the one who attacked. "Mata Nui, that was inch.close!" he said, gasping from the sudden adrenaline rush. He had to take a few breath before he could speak again."Somebody is still here. Where'd the help-call come from?" he asked the Toa.OOC: I usually double-check, but I didn't now, so if Nikaron is not a Toa, I'm sorry ^^
ooC: He's a Toa.IC: NikaronNikaron sighed in relief, "Apologies little one, you startled me, and I too am looking for the one who called for help." Nikaron readied another dagger, and gestured to the Matoran, "stay close and follow me," he said as they walked towards room number 8.
IC:Sisk nodded briefly and walked behind the Toa, making sure to cover his and Nikaron's back as the moved on. In less than a minute they were at at a row of doors."I think it came-called from somewhere close-here." the Matoran whispered, not keen on drawing more attention to themselves then he had already done.
IC: NikaronNikaron nodded, "Right," closing his eyes he scanned the rooms for signs of pulsing electricity. The kind of electricity that existed in nerves. Soon he found pulsing emanating from room 8, the pulse was weak, but it was there. Carefully, Nikaron began to walk towards the door of room number 8.
Ooc: The following happened before Hiemalis go Jaron.Ic: Hiemalis was impressed that he had been caught, and the attack was also an added surprise. He gasped for breath, but could not see his attacker. A quick scatter of ice crystals revealed the attacker's vague position, and Hiemalis followed suit with a wide blade of ice that carved through the air from wall to wall. The breath he sought did not come--he was encased in a vacuum bubble, preventing him from trying to restore his precious air supply.Dail was surprised that the Toa had thought quickly enough to find her, but her mask quickly solved that. While she dicked into a room, she used her mask to make it appear as though an invisible Toa had protected himself by using fire to burn a hole in the ice, water splashing down and freezing into small droplets on the stone. A form shimmered where the ice had been melted, and the rest of it shattered against the walls. Just like that, the shimmering form vanished.Of course, she didn't need line of sight to keep the vacuum up--her air sense told her vaguely where he was. So if he tried to breach the vacuum, it would follow him.Illusions, Hiemalis acknowledged. No toa of air could use flames. This would be more interesting. However, the toa of air's ability relied on having a connection through the air. Seeing a vent above him, Hiemalis seized the opportunity, first constructing a cylinder of air around him, and then sealing the top. Instantly, Hiemalis was within his own little bubble, and Dail's connection was cut. The vacuum dissipated and Hiemalis was free, he broke the surface and jumped through the vent opening before he could recieve any further attacks.Dail rolled her eyes. The air ducts? Really? He had to know he was fighting an air Toa by now, though hopefully the stunt with the fire had convinced him he was being set upon by more than one foe. She tracked him through the air vents and lifted a hand. Once again, the air in his throat congealed, cutting off his oxygen.Hiemalis had inhaled deeply before, so he was fine for a moment, and a moment was all he needed. As Dail felt around where Hiemalis was, she felt a tinge of surprise as she suddenly was aware that Hiemalis was above her. At first, nothing happened, but then the ceiling collapsed on her as Hiemalis pushed it down with ice jacks. It was a guess on the toa of ice's part, but for this matter, it was a right one. He descended with the rubble.Dail jumped in surprise and brought a massive force, a full two atmospheres, down on Hiemalis' head as he fell. He found himself overhsooting, brutally pounded through the floor and into the one beneath it. Dail ducked out of the room--the door had been hanging open, which was why she'd been able to hide in there without suspicion in the first place. But Hiemalis wasn't done yet. Even as he crashed, he let loose a pointed beam of ice that crashed through the stone floor and wall, intercepting Dail even as she fled the crumbling ceiling. And so, just as Hiemalis had been released from Dail's hold earlier, he returned the favor, this time with his element. The Lord of Winter lay still for a moment and slew with ice another staff member who came close. He slowly stood up, head rocking in pain, before elevating hmself up with a column of ice. He would have to take it easy for a moment as he recovered from the dizzyness and light trauma from the collision with the floors. Returning to the air vents, he would have to take his next victim by surprise. Little did he know that fate would drift his way next. Ooc: The next stuff is recent again. Lloyd, you are a hard man to deal with, you know that? ![]()
IC:"Let me go-first." Sisk told Nikaron. "If something get-surprises me, you can do something. I can't much-do on my own-alone." he explained quickly. Steppeding forward, he carefully pushed open the door to the room with the number 8.He gripped his batons tightly, feeling his fingers dig into his palms around them, pushing his knuckles out, almost until it hurt. He slowly moved through the door. "Hello?" he asked.
IC: Jikal/??There! Jikal located Hiemalis' electrical signals. He was in the vents, a little ways to Jikal's right. He gestured. "Emotia, Reaver. He is right there." He said quietly. "I'll try and force him out."Jikal drew his broadsword, and swung it with one hand at the vent, his dominant hand still holding the dagger.
IC: Dail managed to deflect the ice bolt with an errant knife swing, but it grazed her arm, drawing a bit of blood. She paid it no heed--it wasn't anything serious. She ducked into another unused room, gaining her breath for a moment. it didn't take long for the blood from the injury to clot, so she didn't have to worry about leaving blood drops everywhere she went. She tracked the fight with her connection to the air, but didn't intervene while she was resting.![]()
Ic: Hiemalis descended, crashing through a vent and rolling to the floor near Jikal. His own sword, stained and red, drawn, Hiemalis charged, again employing his straight-pointed stance. If Jikal could remember anything, he better have had recalled what happened to Skyra, the last person who used a broadsword.Ooc: Boo.
IC: Emotia Emotia saw the killer, and swung at his legs with her metal pole, the swing was enhanced by her mark, so if it struck Hiemalis, it would hurt...alot. IC: SkyraSkyra turned around, hearing Hiemalis crashing through the vent. He began to march toward him. Skyra launched a blast of wind at Hiemalis' chest, attempting to knock him off his feet.
IC: JikalJikal grinned. It had worked just as he planned. He dropped his broadsword, he didn't need it now, and held up his dagger. "That's awfully cute, ya psycho. But I brought friends." He launched a bolt of lightning at Hiemalis, keeping his dagger at the ready. His Mark was increasing his strength, so he was more powerful than usual.
Ic: But all these attacks were in front of him, so they were all lacking surprise and effectiveness. The wind was slid through, in part because Skyra couldn't have made it too powerful without damaging the room, and Hiemalis' inertia carried him through with some heavy turbulence. The polearm was what Hiemalis wanted to happen most, however. True to his initial observation, polearms were almost useless in the confined quarters. Hiemalis jumped over it and caught it with his sword. The weapon slammed into the wall, the extra strength causing it to crush some of the stone, and Hiemalis froze it into place before directing his energies at Emotia. Her strength was extremely formidable, but Hiemalis turned that pwoer against her, and as she tried to swing a punch at him, he pulled her with the brutal strike. Like a master of Judo, he carried her down, manipulating her movement and using her as a meatshield, absorbing the bolt of electricity. Jikal fired.Strength means nothing, he knew, and yet people continued to exploy strength against him, always to no avail. Jikal bore a mark similar to what the toa of water had, and Hiemalis took a gamble that he was going to be using strength as well. He mentally shook his head with disdain, knowing that in the next moment he was going to slice Jikal from face to foot.As he forced Emotia down, he slammed her head on the floor and nailed her down with a stake of ice in her back befire getting up to deal with Jikal.
IC: JikalJikal witnessed the horrific event in front of him, and knew that he was out-matched. But he couldn't allow the psychopathic murderer that was Hiemalis to pass. So he stood ready with his dagger in hand. I can't go on the offensive unless I know I have a good chance. So, I will be defensive instead.
IC-Hasil:Hasil noticed the Toa of ice about to attack the toa of lightning, and he held up his sword, deftly knocking away the bloodstained short sword of the other being. He looked at him, his eyes emotionless."I must say," he said, "You do well for a tsi'mri, but I believe this has gone on long enough. I'm here to protect these others, and I shall continue to do so." He stepped back, his av'tlen held point towards his enemy, both arms length away from each other."I challenge you," he said calmly, as both Toa stared at each other. "Not to the death, but the victor shall have his keep. Agreed?" Hasil watched the Toa of Ice, his reflexes just as quick as the other being. He followed the others move with an opposing one of his own, though always keeping near the mark bearer. He also had one of his as'ei in his left hand, ready to throw.
IC: EmotiaEmotia cried out when the stake of ice jammed into her back. She lay there on the ground, in too much shock to move. Her head was pretty banged up as well, slowly darkness began to creep around her field of vision. IC: SkyraSkyra decided to move around Hiemalis, keeping his sword in a defensive position, his Hau active. Hiemalis seemed occupied with Jikal, so Skyra took the time he had to analyse his opponent. He's a skilled swordsmen, that's for sure, though let's see him disarm me so quickly again...
IC: JikalThere was no way for Jikal to get to Emotia, and she wasn't going to make it long of he didn't. He watched Hiemalis, and any ideas about victory were gone. At this point, he wanted to make sure as many people survived as possible.
IC, Xibre: Xibre wasn't one to be cowardly, but it looked like the Toa had the situation under control. He had hidden himself in a room, but was now discovered by... Sisk! The Le-Matoran had wandered into the room quizzically. "Sisk!" exclaimed Xibre. "There's a big dangerous Toa out there, and I don't want to get killed!" he said.
Ic: "Kkrallkrchll," was Hiemalis' only reply as his sword met the other's blade. They clinged and clanged, and as Hiemalis made his feints, he was pleasently surprised when Hasil managed to know them apart from the real strikes and parry them in turn. As he looked at Hasil's eyes -- they were all he could see, anyway -- and despite the honor Hasil used, Hiemalis saw a little bit of himself in the strange fighter.Where Hiemalis hid his being by a cloak and still protected his being by brutality and deception, Hasil clothed himself in the dark robes of whatever order he came from and sheltered his identity through it. Hasil, despite being an individual of ethics, was not entirely pure. Purity was clear, transparent; purity was sincere, fluid. And yet Hasil wore black. He was not the pure being he thought he represented.Hiemalis and Hasil's blades met, but this time, they did not separate, but were glued together like a tongue on a winter pole. Hiemalis' eyes glistened with frost, and Hasil's grip loosened in surprise as his sword's grip grew intensely cold. And then, suddenly, without warning, the blade shattered. Shards of metal dropped like sand on the ground, and Hiemalis stood, menacing, as his sword remained whole. And then he lunged for the kill strike.Ooc: No elemental trick here: It's a property of the weapon. As ironic as it seems, Hiemalis did that honorably.
IC (Avya) (Ta-Koro)I don't know what I'd been expecting, but it definitely hadn't been a village inside a volcano. The air was hot -almost stifling at first- but I found that after a few minutes my lungs adjusted to the temperature, and I could breathe almost normally. While some of the group were sweating, I was feeling pretty good. Sure, it was hot, but not unbearably hot. I wondered if this had anything to do with my being a 'Toa of Plasma', which several people had called me. I seemed to have an increased tolerance for heat.Ta-Koro was an awe-inspiring place, mostly because you knew that, no matter where you stood in the village, you were roughly fifteen minutes from a crater full of smoking lava. I had no idea why anyone would choose to settle here, but I figured it had something to do with what Ara'kas had said outside of Ta-Koro: everything that lived in Ta-Wahi had to either be fast or tough enough to survive. The Ta-Matoran lived in a volcano. They were pretty tough. As we walked through the village, I noticed a lot of noise coming from one buliding in particular. It wasn't a particularly impressive building, but it was several stories high, and solidly built. A sign in front proclaimed Ta-Koro Hospital.Nikaron had noticed too. He spoke a few low words to Ara'kas, then turned and jogged towards the hospital. I managed to overhear some of what he said: "If I'm not back soon, assume the worst... do not want to get Avya involved... get her to safety." I frowned as I watched Nikaron disappear into the building. I understood he wanted to protect me, but asking us to abandon him if something happened? How could he possibly think I would just leave him after all that talk about forging a new life that I would be proud of?I was jolted from my thoughts by a scream from inside the hospital, followed by a loud crash. What was going on in there? One thing I knew for sure: I would not be proud of myself if I let Nikaron die. If thing got bad, I wouldn't be leaving: I would be going in after him.
IC-Hasil:Hasil grunted as his weapon shattered-he'd have to replace it later. But as he saw the kill strike coming for him, he rolled out of the way and threw down one protosteel as'ei, hitting the Toa of Ice in the boot and locking it in place for a moment. He then rolled backwards, throwing another as'ei towards his enemy's heartlight as he rounded the corner. He pulled out his Ka'islai, his last useful weapon in this space. He heard a crunch from his second As'ei, hoping that it had hit into the creature's heart and killed it. He thought for a split second about the gaze from his enemy-it was as though he was looking into Hasil's very soul, and knew everything about Hasil...and the contact seemed to work both ways. Hasil learned his enemy's mind slightly, he felt the anger hidden there...and the impurity contained within, matching Hasil so perfectly. Hasil set his teeth and looked onward.OOC: Left deliberately vague, if you wish to act upon whether you got hit or not.
OOC: Gah, ninja'edIC: SkyraNow... Skyra made his move. Skyra attacked Hiemalis from behind, making a vertical slash at his shoulder. "You should of kept your eye on the birdy. Engarde!" Skyra moved into a fencing like form, and waited for his opponent to make his move, it was time for a bit different sword-fighting style.
OOC: Room 8 is the one Kol is in...unless you somehow got in there too, I don't see hwo Xibre could hide there and not notice Kol or vice versa.IC:"Xibre?" the Le-Matoran was taken a bit by surprise. Was it the wrong room? Or had the Toa cried for the doctor. But why would he need to do so. He looked fine. "Somebody quick-shouted for a doctor, a Matoran, still here, did you see him?" Sisk asked,
OOC: Let's just say there was a... shelf... and Xibre did notice Kol, but didn't care... and Xibre hid behind the shelf...IC, Xibre: "Er, yeah, he's right over there." Xibre pointed to where he meant.
OOC: Hume-something sounds like Humus.IC: JLJL: What the heck? We were following those guys, and then they just like left and ignored us or something. So they just walked towards/into the hospital.
IC: JikalJikal moved until he was behind Skyra. "Dude, I need you to manuver him away from the Water Toa. I can get her to safety, then we don't need to worry about the injured." He held himself in a ready stance, just in case.
IC:Sisk immediately turned to the sickbed in the room. The Matoran lying there didn't look like he was in good shape. At all. "Oh Mata Nui..." the Le-Matoran sighed. "Nikaron, get in here!"
OOC: *shakes fist in air* y u no do less posts?!?! :PIC: OnuzekHe heard the sounds of weapons clashing. He knew that something was going on outside. The massive Toa lumbered out of his room to find out. What he found was fight going on right insidde the hospital.Onuzek saw Skyra attack a toa of Ice, and wanting to help, increased the Toa of Ice's gravity hundred fold.IC: NikilaShe ran over to Jaron.OOC: No killy pwease. ![]()
IC-Jaron:Jaron gasped, waking up. He spat out blood, and looked down at his lung. It had been stitched up...rather poorly, so he used his fire to cauterize the wound and make sure it didn't fall apart. He gasped in pain, and took in a shallow breath. He looked up at a blurry shape approaching him, and realized it to be Nikila. He smiled, and held her hand."Hello," he managed to say. "Wonderful day, isn't it?" He started laugh, but it degenerated into a wet cough. His senses reeled for a moment, then he came back. He got up, using Nikila's help. "To the smith Zyckel's home," he managed to say, as he limped along towards it. "We have to tell him...and have him fix me up a bit better."IC-Lashev:Lashev watched as the Toa of Fire began to walk off with some other Toa of water when he heard a shattering sound. He ran in, found Hasil without his sword, and handed him one. "Here," gasped, panting from the effort he had used, "Use that. It's an Av'tlen I found in the desert one day, use it," he then ran back out of the hospital, towards the two Toa he had noticed walking on.
IC: NikilaShe grabbed onto Jaron, helping him walk over to the smith's shop."What-happened-who-did-this-to-you?" she asked him, her voice a mixture of concern and anger.
