OOC: He's gonna die.
IC: Skyra - Crimson Nova Outpost, Le-koro -I didn't feel the need to introduce myself, obviously he was aware of who we all are. It was his job to know. I knew Air against air was sorta pointless, so I drew a katana with lightning quick reflexes and lunged at him in a fencing like style, aiming directly at his chest.
OOC: Hmmm...... Nope.
IC: RykerA quick twist of his hips, a change in his footing, and Skyra's lunge went past the cloaked Toa. A twirl of the wrist, and Ryker's shortsword was sending the other Toa of Air's katana down to the floor. At the same time, his remaining sword was slashing upwards at Skyra.
OOC: First IC post since the forums came back! :PIC, Verdi: Verdi frowned. "I didn't mean it like that!" he said, dismayed. Then a puzzled expression came over his face. "Huh. Lans never actually explained to me how he got away. I'll have to ask him sometime..."
IC: LaserbeakLasrbeak used her mask to bring her too close to Ryer for him to strike at her with his sword, and jabbed one of her darts toward his neck. His armor wouldn't stop it, the point was too fine and his armor too thin there, so he would have to stop it.It was a fast acting, but non-fatal, paralysis poison.
IC: Skyra - Crimson Nova Outpost, Le-koro -Ryker apparently wasn't an amateur, good, I like a challenge. He probably would of even had me right then in there, if I had pulled out my second katana and blocked his other sword. Laserbeak was making her move, so I decided to just keep my weapons locked with Ryker so he wouldn't be able to disengage easily. Hopefully this way Laserbeak's attack would be sure to hit.
OOC: *fist-pump of awesome forums are back*
IC: RykerThe Toa of Air wouldn't be able to block it using normal means. Although his shortswords were perfect for this range, Skyra had the locked them with his weapons. So, Ryker just pushed it to the side with a burst of elemental wind. The burst was too short, and too quick acting for the other two Toa to counteract it with their own power. The dart went flying beneath his chin, or would had if Ryker hadn't activated his Kadin, and flown back from them. Underneath his hood, the black-armored Toa grinned. He dropped back to the ground, and waited for their move, swords held ready.
IC-Dragou:Dragou watched what was happening interestedly. This Toa of Air was good with what he did, and if Dragou was going to try and stop the Toa of Gravity would have to come up with something quick. He thought through any strategies he had...Holding Ryker to the ground-nope, he could use his Kadin the moment he felt himself getting heavier and jump out of the way.Lowering Ryker's gravity would just provide him with an opportunity to fly around and do more damage than before. That was definitely out. Dragou could try to just grab him with his element, but if what he learned back at the Ta-Koro bridge was any indication, he'd be unable to hold it. So, he settled on one other idea.Dragou stepped up quickly towards Ryker, in front of the others, a smile on his face. He raised up his hammer, still out of reach of Ryker, and slammed it into the ground-hard. A wave of gravitic force shot out from the impact site towards Ryker, hopefully sending him flying into the back wall, and also leaving a rather large dent in the floor from where Dragou had slammed the hammer.OOC: Gravity Hammer FTW.
IC: LaserbeakLaserbeak grinned, and flew literally behind the gravity blast, a dagger in one hand, dart in the other. Any sword blows would be easily deflected by her dagger, she had quick reflexes, and the dart was aimed right for his neck.
IC: VirtheeIt had certainly taken him longer than he had expected, but the way to Onu-Koro had finally come into sight. He himself didn't mind at all, he enjoyed his time talking through the Jungle. It was peaceful and relaxing when a Rahi didn't try to attack you, and made for a great day depending on the weather. He was lightly singing a cheerful to himself as he heading toward his destination. And then, it was to head underground, the place without sunlight or sky. It was rather different from the island above, but enjoyable all the same.OOC: Virthee to Onu-Koro.
IC: RykerHe continued to grin as the wave of purple energy raced out to him, cracking the wooden floorboards as it did. His grin only widened when he saw Lazerbeak flying behind it. There was no way for him to dodge it, so Ryker didn't.The wave picked him up-off his feet, and sent him towards the back wall. Ryker used his Kadin to steady himself as he was launched back, and a burst of elemental power punched a hole in the wall behind him. The Toa of Air flew out of the hole, unharmed. He altered the power over his Kadin, and he flew up and over the hole. Just as Lazerbeak came flying out of it. A shortsword was sent swinging down towards her.
IC: Amerikos steeled himself for the batttle at hand. He imagined that the carnage today would be some of the most he would see in a while. "So," he said, turning to the others, "is this our permanent base? I like it here."OOC: did I miss anything?-Bane
IC: LaserbeakWith a clash of metal on metal, Laserbeak deflected the blow with her dagger. Her fingers gripped the edge of the hole with one hand, causing her to flip up without losing her momentum. Her feet were now flying toward Ryker's face at high speeds. At this range, it would be difficult to dodge.
IC: RykerThey were difficult to dodge, and they did hit. Although, not his face, and not at full-force. Ryker had used his Kanohi to fly back with the kick, and doing so made it impact with his chest instead of his face.Still, he had the breath knocked out of him. That didn't stop him from attacking, and he swung one of his swords towards Lazerbeak's head, while his other was stabbing towards her stomach. The close range that made it hard for him to dodge the kick was now working with the cloaked Toa.
IC: LaserbeakLaserbeak brought her legs up, catching one blow on her 'talons', and deflecting the other with her sword. She flipped in midair, simultaneously slashing at Ryker's face with her 'talons'.
IC: RykerHe leaned back from the slash, and the talons flew past him. Ryker hovered a few meters away from Lazerbeak, his swords held ready."Is that all you've got? I expected more," he said, just before flying back towards the Toa of Air. He slashed again with both swords. This time, however, he created a small explosion of air to the side of her; trying to knock Lazerbeak off balence.
IC: Tagnrua"I can get you there in half the time," he siad to dekuna, removing his bench, and making room for a second rider. "I can go twice the speed of someone on foot." Cretilian (OOC: Remember him, little venomus rahi?) crealed up onto the steering wheel and made a shriking sound. Suddenly, a (OOC: Whatever there called, Nui kopen or rama or whatever.) came out of the trees, and made a narrow pass at nogow. Nogow doged out of the way, but the wasp hit the tire and bent the axel. stunned, cretilian jumped on its head, and bit it, injecting his venom, while tangrua threw his blade into the wasps chest. "O.k., perhaps traveling on foot might be our only option," he said after examining the broken axel.
IC: Zealokan, Payiges, Aki-Nui, NPC Stable OwnerZealokan saluted the owner of the stable, who made frowned at him in return. 'Oi, you can't blame me if my Kane-Ra's a little hyperactive.''So I'm supposed to expect the bull to pay for my gate?''I'll pay! Just.... not right now.''Okay, but it'd better be soon, or you'll be in a whole mess of danger.''Toa's honour. You have my word.'As the two Toa walked on, Payiges whispered to Zealokan 'Touchy, much?''I know, right?' He whistled loudly, and Aki-Nui came rushing to the edge of the stable, careful not to burst through it again. 'Haha, I've trained you well. C'mon, we've got to get to Lake Pala.'The Silver Toa opened the gate, and he and Payiges jumped on his back, Payiges at the reins. 'Yah!'Aki moved slowly out of the stable, and then went off at full pelt, stopping by Dekuna.'Run beside us, Zealokan'll give you a boost with his power.'Meanwhile, the Stable Owner finished sweeping up the remains of the former gate. He'd had enough. The Matoran grabbed a stone tablet, and began to carve.
IC (Dekuna):Cursing bad luck for the broken cart, Dekuna picked up the Matoran and began to run. The cart he decided to leave behind - they could come back for it later. He did, however, unfasten the rahi that pulled it so that the beast could follow them. With the help of Zealokan's powers and Aki-Nui's strength, the team soon arrived at Pala-koro, and found that Uar had already arrived. It looked like he was talking to a green and blue toa, so Dekuna went to greet him."Hello there" he said to the toa of plantlife. "We have heard that there will soon be an attack on the nui-rama hive, so we came as quickly as possible to give our aid. We are a part of the Hau Karda, a team of beings dedicated to protecting Mata Nui's inhabitants from Makuta's influence. I see that you met Uar here, and this is Tangrua (he indicated the Po-matoran), the toa riding the kane-ra and Zealokan and Payiges, and I am Dekuna. How can we be of assistance?"OOC: I hope Tangrua doesn't mind being carried.IC (Lema): Toa Lema, while patrolling the jungles north and east of Le-koro, was noticing an unusually large number of beings tramping through the forest this past day or so. From the tracks he found, they all seemed to be headed in one direction: east. The curious toa of air could not think of any reasonable explanation for this occurrence, other than that something unusual must be going on in his wahi. As a sworn protector of Le-wahi and its Matoran inhabitants, he decided to investigate the cause. Activating his mask of speed, he shot off at breakneck pace, before running straight up the trunk of a tree and ito its branches. From this high vantage point, he continued to half run, half fly through the treetops until he reached Lake Pala, where many beings were gathered. This must be the place. He dropped down out of the trees by the lakeside, rolling onto his backpack to break his fall.I.C. Vompran noticed Uar sitting near the lake. He approached the newcomer.IC: (Uar)"Well, see ya there." Uar said as he activated his Kakama. I love this mask... he thought as he made it to Lake Pala in a few minutes. He could see a great number of Gukko, some of which were bending down to drink from the lake. With nothing better to do at the moment, he sat down, waiting for the rest of the group to catch up.
I.C. Vompran (pala koro)"Good, we could always use some help taking out those rama. The attack will be launched in only a number of hours. By the way, I'm Vompran, one of the deputies of the ILS. If it seems fit to Madrihk, our leader, You could probably join the secondary ground squad that Kethrye and I will be leading."I.C. Kranuka (le-wahi forest)"Are you sure this thing will fly?" Kranuka looked a little bit nervous about getting on the flying cart. "Second, how are we going to take off? There are far too many trees around here to get a running start."IC Dymiun, Fehron, Botan"Uh... Some help here?" Dymiun asked, the now disconnected generator magnetized to his hand. "Well, that worked, at least," said Fehron, trying to show Dymiun how to demagnetize the generator, "Now what?" "We head to the village," replied Botan. "Well, there is a better way," suggested Fehron. He focused his power and created a wheeled cart large enough for the four of them. It was designed so that Dymiun's magnetism could turn the axle. Seeing what they were doing, Dymiun provided some plant fibers, and, at Fehron's command, stretched them over a large metal frame to form fold-out glider wings. "Hop in," invited Fehron.I.C. Kranuka watched as the last rama fell. He sighed. "Done at last! Nice job everybody!"I.C. Vompran"Looks like things are heating up."
IC: LaserbeakThe problem with blasts of air, is that they take time to affect the target. As a result, Laserbeak was able to minimize the blast, and felt merely a push from that direction.Quickly, she drew her katana in a wide motion, simultaneously deflecting one strike, while her dagger dealt with the other. Before Ryker could recover, she went on the offensive, slashing at his chest with her katana.
IC: RykerHe flew back from the slash, although the Katana still ripped through his cloak. The Toa of Air shrugged, and the ruined cloak fell away."Well," he said, almost as if he were having a pleasent conversation, "I suppose that's enough time for him. I'm off now."Ryker did an over-the-top bow, and soared away under the power of his Kanohi. He wasn't, however, going to let them follow him. So, using the last of his elemental power, he caused most of the safe-house explode. The blast happened instantly, but the other Toa of Air might be able to slow it down.It probably wouldn't harm anyone, but it was enough for him to reach the other end of the Koro before the group realised what had happened.OOC: Yeah, I wanna pull him out of there. Cause I'm too noobish to fight 6 vs 1. ![]()
IC: Reordin (Pala-Koro)As the Ko-Matoran swung one final kick into the punching bag, he turned at the sound of...a stampede? His eyes widened after a moment and he walked towards the oncoming Ussalry men, led by Sulov, now sporting a stylish new prosthetic to replace the stump he had been owner of just a few minutes before."Good to see you, my friend!" he yelled with a small smirk. "We thought you might not show."-Teezy
IC: Sulov released a slight grin. He kicked Muv lightly to turn and sat up straighter to slow, and the group trotted to a halt before the caller, many chatting on the architecture of the fortifications around the village."Vell, ju zout vrrong," He said. Only now did the sudden change in the commander's demeanor strike Reordin; the Ko-Matoran could tell that Koskium had been previously trying to conceal stress beneath an iron mask, but now seemed almost as casual as Gavarm. "Ve made gud time forr a rregiment and a half; ve verre just held up by refueling and zis," Here Sulov held up the prosthetic. He chuckled slightly. "Can't go tu battle vizout boz hands."
IC (Matan and Natan): "Come on in, Rockosis" Matan called from the back room. "We're all done".OOC: Timeskip. I'm grounded, so not much activity for a whileIC: Rockosis reentered the shop, looking around warily for more suprises. "Is anyone here?" he called. "Matan, Natan, do you have my weapone ready?"-Bane
IC (Dekuna): "Well met, Vompran" the toa of sonics replied. "Very well, we will help out however you wish us to, or wherever our skills are most needed. Just show us what to do."I.C. Vompran (pala koro)"Good, we could always use some help taking out those rama. The attack will be launched in only a number of hours. By the way, I'm Vompran, one of the deputies of the ILS. If it seems fit to Madrihk, our leader, You could probably join the secondary ground squad that Kethrye and I will be leading."
IC: "So, how hard was it? I assume that it took a while. How'd you do it?" Rockosis said, relieved that there were no suprises today so far. He just hoped that the weapon would work as well as he hoped. IC: Amerikos looked the other recruit over. "Nice to meet you. Name's Amerikos. I'm one of the newbies. You too?" -Bane
IC:Trakuda stepped forth to greet the Onu-Koronans too, grinning from ear to ear to see that Sulov was well again, and with a blade for hand, it seemed."Sul, Sue, Sooey, ol' Sulovian, my man! Good to see you're all well and good again, that near-death experience was quite the scare. Have a Jelly baby." he whipped a tiny, squishy, vaguely Matoran-shaped sweet seemingly from nowhere and threw it at Sulov, before cartwheeling into oblivion and reappearing on a tree branch overhead abnormally fast. This hyperactivity was sparked by something darker: that he would soon be able to satisfy his latent bloodlust, and his need to blame someone for Solia's death. The happiness masked his almost chronic depression.
IC: AlfonThe Ussalry's sudden arrival didn't go unnoticed to Alfon, surprising him slightly as he watched the new arrivals from the corner of his eye. Seeing Sulov alive and well lifted the Toa's spirits.Looks like he found himself a new 'hand'.Despite the moral boost, he made no indication to show it nor get up and greet the Onu-Matoran. At the moment, Alfon was preoccupied with his thoughts and wire-play, steeling himself for the upcoming battle and stowing away what little thoughts he had of things that could go wrong. At first, this was all fun and games but the reality of the situation was beginning to dawn on him peice by peice, that they were indeed going to face Makuta and his wrath.Man, this is crazy. I don't feel like dying. The thought seemed so strange to him, bringing about a small smile and chuckle.
IC (Matan and Natan): Natan smiled mischievously at the question, before replying "Now that's a trade secret. If everyone knew how we make such good weapons, we'd both be out of a job". So saying, he stepped over to a small table covered with a stained cloth, and removed the material to reveal the completed weapon. The finished blade was made of a heat-resistant alloy, and about 0.8 bio long. Its bell-shaped guard extended further back over the hilt and was thicker than most other guards, because it contained the mechanism for launching the blade. It was powered by two strong springs, which sat in a hollow compartment within the guard. By pushing and then depressing a button on the upper end of the grip, the spring mechanism would be triggered, detaching the blade at a point justinside the guard and sending it flying outwards with considerable force. Welded onto the blade right above the guard was a chain that would remain attached toboth the hilt and the blade when it was fired. The other end of the chain was welded onto the front of the guard, but extended backwards to the end of it inspecially fitted grooves within the guard that allowed it to sit flush with its surface. The remainder of the chain was wrapped around the guard in a spiralpattern moving forwards and inwards until it reached the blade, allowing for easy discharge when fired, and minimising the chance of it getting tangled up.Small ridges on the guard kept the chain from sliding around when it was not being fired. Finally, a hand span of the blade above the guard was not sharpenedso that it could be safely gripped and used to re-clip the launched blade back onto the hilt so that it could be used as a conventional sword. The blade andsheath were coloured a bright orange to match Rockosis' armour.Matan picked up the weapon and handed it to the toa. "So, what do you think?" he asked. "Is that everything you wanted?"OOC: Disclaimer: I am not an engineer like Matan and Natan, and I know next to nothing about designing weapons. The design might be a total failure IRL but just assume it works in-game.
IC: Plagia - Pala-KoroPlagia nodded her understanding, "Ah, well that's good. I'd hate to have to grow wings, and I've never like how Kadins look."It was a bad joke, but the Toa was too nervous to think of a better one.-Void
IC:Kethrye grinned at the sight of the Ussalry troops galloping into the camp. Well, that was unexpected, he thought, striding over to were some of the others were gathered, conversing with the Onu-Matoran cavalry. Alfon said they weren't going to come. . ."Er-Onu-Koro sent us some help, after all?", he said, watching, mystified, at Trakuda's hyperactive antics. Kethrye shook his head and shrugged at you he presumed was the leader of the militia. "Good. Destroying the nest of one of the largest hordes of Rahi on the island isn't going to be easy, and we're going to need any help we can get."I'm Kethrye, one of the ILS's deputies."
IC: "It's a work of art, Natan!" Rockosis said as he swung the sword in a semicurcular arc. "How far does it shoot?" He gripped the chain-metal handle, suprised at how balanced it felt. Ironically, It looked like a pirate cutlass in many ways, and a naval man was exactly what he was currently.OOC: Lorax, I've studied some mechanical enginering books, and it would theoretically work. However, the spring would have to be huge. So technically, yes, it could happen.-Bane
OOC: Huge, or just really stiff I think. :sly:IC (Matan and Natan): "As far as the length of the chain" Matan replied, "So about a bio. Why don't you take it outside for a test?"
IC-Dragou:Dragou crouched down, covering himself with a repulsor field as he did so-just to protect himself from any flying debris. When he uncurled, the safehouse was gone. And he wasn't really standing on anything. Instead of panicking, he did what a normal Toa of Gravity would do, floating his way over to a still-attached platform, standing on it."Well," he muttered, "I didn't expect that would happen. They're getting too creative."
OOC: Post made earlier, so slightly inconsistent with the current things happening.IC - Reik - Crimson NovaJust as Laserbeak evaded the attack, another one bombarded her. Walls of stone came from every side, slamming down against her. She would be hard-pressed to stop these. In the split second before the others registered the fast-acting attack from seemingly nowhere, they we're inflicted by it. Pillars of jagged stone, sharp enough to impale, jumped from all sides upon Skyra. The ground under Tillian erupted, so fast no gravity could kill the momentum. He threatened to fly out the ceiling if he didn't stop it.Dragou was not as lucky as the rest. Out of the shadows, cloaked by natural shadows to be nigh-unseeable, a dagger silently flew for his back.
OOC: Okay, so attack four people at once without giving any of them a chance to notice it? Seems legit.IC: Reordin (Pala-Koro)"So, then, I guess the gang's all here?" Reordin asked, moving the punching bag back into an upright-ish position.-Teezy
IC: SkrihenSkrihen practically shuddered with happiness as her Mark was bombarded by happiness. Clearly the Ussalry was popular, but that thought didn't occur to her as she smiled blissfully. Her eyes were tinted lavender, as even she couldn't suppress her Mark to that degree.IC: LaserbeakLaserbeak's eyes widened. Even as the walls enclosed her, she forced the air around her outward while protecting herself from the pressure. The pressure built up quickly, and finally, the weakest of the walls shattered, unable to sustain the pressure.
OOC: How long is a bio, again?IC: "Alright, let's see how it goes." Rockosis moved to the outside of the hut, and readied his new weapon, aiming at a nearby tree branch. "Here goes!" he cried, sending a shot towards the tree. It sank deep, and it took both hands to yank the sword completely out. He then began to spin the sword by the chain, until it could be barely seen, only a blur showed. Rockosis slowed the blade, caught it, and began rewinding the chain to the handle. "That worked well, now about the price. How much? Do I get a discount since I provided most of the material?" he asked, grinning slyly.IC: "Looks like it," Amerikos replied to Reordin. "Now, are we going to have a team formation? I mean, defense, offense, and both for the strike team? Having the defense make a ring around the hive destroyers might work."-Bane
OOC: I'm dying of need of interaction so imma do this.IC: VolinWaiting idly merely unnerved Volin, unable to calm his excitement and get rid of his nervousness. From another person's perspective, he would appear rather jittery with a wild look in his eyes.I need to distract myself...Which is exactly what the Toa would do. Across from him stood Skrihen, the second girl here and from the looks of it, she didn't have the hots for his younger brother like that chick Mehlnai.Goodie.Walking nearby, Volin sized her up as he examined her features. A little plain but it didn't really matter right now; anything to get his mind off the task at hand would do."Hey there." he started casually although as he approached, he just took sight of the color of Skrihen's eyes. "What pretty eyes." he said, suddenly reddening in embarassement as he realized he said that aloud."Sorry."
IC: Reordin (Pala-Koro)Reordin snorted in derisive laughter and leaned against a hut, watching Volin's flirting play out. Skrihen was about to cook this guy like an egg...-Teezy
OOC: From BS01:
IC (Matan and Natan): "Well" Matan reponded, "let's see now. Its a very good weapon which took almost a day's labour for the two of us to make. On top of that, its made of a heat resistant alloy that we had to make from what you provided, so that will cost extra. I should tell you that it will melt or lose strength if you channel too much Plasma through it at once, but it should be able to withstand you shooting a short beam of it from the tip. Given that, I think 200 widgets is fair."MeasurementsMatoran and other species use a distinct measuring system. The system is split into three different types: bio, kio, and mio.The exact conversion rates (with real world measurements) are:
- [*]1 bio = 4.5 feet = 1.37 meters[*]1 kio = 1,000 bio = 4,500 feet/0.85 miles = 1.37 kilometers[*]1 mio = 1,000 kio = 850 miles = 1,370 kilometers
As a reference, all Toa are roughly 1.6 bio tall.
OOC: Hehehe... IC: Skrihen"Hey there."Skrihen looked at Volin, surprised. For just a second, her control slipped and her eyes flared lavender, before returning to their previous state. "Oh, um, well thank you." Her tone was a mixture of pleased and cautious.Skrihen blinked. "Um, I'm Skrihen."
IC: Reordin (Pala-Koro)Hmm. That was intriguing. I've never seen eyes do that...Pushing it out of his head, he decided to just sit, relax, and watch the luls ensue. God knows he would need them before the battle started...-Teezy
IC: "Ouch, that hurts my savings. Past mercenary work will pay for it, but I'm going to need some work. Anyway, Here's the money." Rockosis handed the bag of widgets to the Skakdi. "Thanks for the job on my weapon. If I see anyone that needs a custom, I'll refer them to you guys. But you might want to lower your prices, that took me two years to save up. Now, to see if Tooroko will give me an early paycheck..."OOC: Just kidding, Lorax. I'm working the first few weeks free. After that, you're on your own
-Bane
