IC: GravityI held the Ga-Toa as tight as I could with one arm, refusing to let go. I let her press her face again mine, and I whispered words of encouragement. And then I realised that her whispers weren't unitelligble, but short, quick sentances. And I really didn't what she was saying."Hey," I said, gazing into her eyes. "Its okay, your safe now. You hear?"
IC-Raxa:Raxa, to put it lightly, was mad. He'd been combing the catacombs for nearly and hour, and had found no trace of Sinina at all. No, he'd found more than enough things staying just out of sight, scuttling out of his way, and he knew the places he would have to avoid from the sounds echoing down. No, it was truth that Sinina was gone.He cursed, slamming the pommel of what used to be Luncora's sword in the wall, the clang echoing through the catacombs as he trudged back to Hound and the others. One thing he knew was that he would eventually find Sinina, and he would make sure the job was finished.
IC: CatacombsHajia gazed back, but her eyes seemed to stare past him, unrecognizing and uncomprehending. She continued to whisper, taking a lower tone as she began to describe the worst of her torments.Kirian finished pulling the sword out, Wiping his brow as he finished the operation. The wound was bloody, complicated, and, worst of all, immobilizing. If Hound tried to walk out of the catacombs with this wound, he'd be dead before he got ten paces. Glancing at Tirus, Kirian spoke. "Could you make a stretcher?""All metal? That'd be uncomfortable.""I'm working with limited rescources, Tirus." "Alright, alright." Tirus said, creating an iron stretcher, much larger than normal. With the help of Kirian, he managed to get Hound onto it, but he had no idea how he would carry the Denuian. He needed a Pakari, or something of that sort.
OOC: Sorry I haven't posted much here. Let's try to finish this thing today or tomorrow.IC: Demas spun to his left, out of the blade's path, and righted himself in the process. He shook his head slightly as his blade flipped back to a ready position. He couldn't afford to underestimate Bahkui on the sole fact that he was a Matoran.
IC-Raxa:"Really," Raxa growled, leaning against the wall, though he had a small smile. "Do I have to do all the heavy lifting around here?"
IC: Wokapu's thought then drifted to the warning he got once the charity ball for the Po-Koronan Plague was finally underway…-------------“It is an honor to be invited to such as benevolent and well-conceived ball,” the elder of the Cultured Gentry said on top of a low podium. On either side of the old, robed Ko-Matoran was a slightly younger but still elderly Ko-Matoran, and a Ga-Matoran. The three figures donned in robes of the richest fabric sat at the front of the ballroom. The leader of the executive board of Cultured Gentry continued to gloat, and Wokapu wondered how many of the attendants truly listened. Still, this was the point of living. Many had the nerve to justify their existence by doing nothing at all. Wokapu was a proud Toa who genuinely contributed to society without having to beat someone up.Many Toa realized this, but few acted on it: becoming a Toa didn’t just give you a physical and emotional boost, but a mental boost as well. The Toa’s mind gave him the capacity to solve even more complex problems through ways that the Matoran were not capable of doing. There were enough Toa around to slay Rahi and incapacitate evil-doers. Wokapu decided his calling was the mining guilds. Many decades ago, Wokapu surveyed the working conditions and the logistics of the mining processes. There were many redundancies, and many unnecessary bottlenecks that slowed mining down and limited potential profits. Wokapu took over this particular mining guild, and within a year, they went from the least productive guild to the most, and have been the most successful mining guild ever since. This was how Wokapu’s sister, Wokiya, was able to have access to the best diamonds on the island. Wokapu guild didn’t just mine the fastest, they also chose the best spots to mine, and kept their success kept the locations from being sold off to rival mining guilds. They had the most as well as the best precious stones. What do you even do at that point?Wokapu was sitting in his chair, turned away from his round stone-carved table to face the front of the ballroom where the Elder of the Cultured Gentry continued to speak. He looked to his right to see his sister, of course not sharing a table with her brother. Wokapu’s table had five other people: an owner of a bamboo disk manufacturing company, the chief of operations of Wokapu’s mining guild, the chief of finances of Wokapu’s mining guild, an owner of an ice tools (shovels, picks, heatstones) company, and Toa Niici (the other four were Matoran). Wokiya sat at a table on the other side of the center path. Apparently, Wokiya had an issue with the 10,000-widget tickets that were sold. Giving sick Po-Matoran millions of widgets for aid and medicine is great and benevolent, but pricing the tickets at 10,000 widgets each is pretentious, exclusionary, and self-serving. Wokapu didn’t even keep a share of the proceeds like he wanted to! Not to mention, pricing the tickets at 10,000 widgets kept the smelly Matoran out. And to add insult to injury, Wokiya wasn’t even wearing her diamonds anymore. Something’s gotten into her, thought Wokapu, and I’m going to find out one of these days.Just then, an Onu-Matoran server had walked past up to Wokapu’s table, heading through the back doors. He stopped when he approached the Toa’s table, and held out a single thin slab of stone with carvings on it. A perplexed Wokapu slyly took the slip, and then the Matoran walked off. The others that were at Wokapu’s table did not notice the exchange. Sliding the tablet other the table, Wokapu read the Matoran words inscribed on it.“There’s a storm coming, Mr. Wokapu.Everything you have known will soon change.I give you this warning so that you may prepareyourself and your sister for what’s to come. The Lohrak that you have let into your house and nurtured will come to bite you and leave you with nothing. When it is all over, you will wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of usYours truly,Karma”Um… what? thought Wokapu."Thank you very much!" the elder finished his speech. The audience rose to their feet for a standing ovation. -------------Lekori had facts, but he had no proof. That was the cause of this whole venture. When he interrogated the Onu-Matoran who orchestrated the robbery of his hut, the Onu-Matoran had told Lekori about what was going to happen to Wokapu. A dark conspiracy that would rob the Toa of Air of everything he worked hard for.Sometime later, Lekori had encountered Wokapu in the Ko-Wahi Drifts, but once they came here to pick up on a vital clue, the Toa of Air disappeared. Now, Lekori was picking up where Wokapu left off, and trying to find proof that the Cultured Gentry was allied with Makuta, and that they were stockpiling for the biggest war we’ve seen so far.A war that may destroy the final bastion of hope for Mata Nui. -------------Ronkshou donned his dark brown cowl and emerged from the Onu-Wahi caves. Time was nearing to meet with his liason. OOC: Ronkshou to Ko-Wahi.
IC: GravityI continued to stare into her eyes for a minute more, before looking away and at the others. "No, you don't," I replied to Raxa, before extending my slightly recharged elemental power over Hound and the stretcher. I reduced their weight, making it so that two normal beings should be able to lift it without problem.Handy thing about my element, it really made some masks useless, like a Pakari. With my job done, I turned back to Hajia.IC: BahkuiWith surprising speed, the Matoran continued on with his attacks. A horizontal slash was sent to the Toa of Magnetism's shoulder, quickly followed up by a jab to his chest and an upward slash. Bahkui's main tactic now was to keep Demas off his feet, so to say.
IC: The IdolThe Idol walked into Onu-Koro and immediately started singing, playing his guitarOOC: Open for interaction
IC: CatacombsTirus lifted the stretcher with help from Kirian. Motioning to Gravity, Kirian, pointed towards the way they came. He then gestured at Raxa, pointing at Tajeh. Hoping that he would be understood, the Ko-Toa began to carry Hound away, contemplating how long it would take to exit the catacombs, and then find medical assistance.
IC-Raxa:Raxa shrugged, grabbing Tajeh by one arm, lifting him up quickly until he fell into both of Raxa's arms, after which the Toa of Crystal proceeded to carry the Matoran off.
IC: GravityI glanced at the group leaving, and then turned back to Hajia. "Up you go," I said softly, gently lifting the Ga-Toa up so that I was carrying her. Making sure that I had both her and the Ga-Matoran, I started after the others.
IC-Raxa:Raxa turned over to Gravity, a slightly concerned expression on his face, though it dropped to its usual blank mask in a second."Want some help, Gravity?" He asked. "If you want to conserve your element, I can always carry Gahuari."
IC: Gravity"Nah man," I said, my voice uncharacteristicly quite. "I've got this, besides, only using my element on Hound."A small smile crossed my face as I noticed the Toa of Crystal's expression change, and I added, "By the way, your face did something funny for a second, Mr. Carved-From-Stone."
IC: The IdolThe Idol had grown tired of guitar and was now playing his fluteOOC: Open for interaction
IC: Hound & CoTirus glanced back to see Tajeh being carried by Raxa. Glad that the Ko-Matoran hadn't been forgotten, he turned back to the task at hand, navigating the tunnels of the catacomb, trying to find their way out of the surprisingly complex, subterranean maze. Hajia curled up into ball, burrowing into the Ba-Toa like a frightened animal. It was disturbing to see one who had such personality, such spirit, reduced to an infant-like state.
IC: [Quada]"Have fishing rods," he said, handing two rods to Inc and Ark.
OOC: Tarnok from Ga-WahiIC: TarnokRelatively speaking, it didn't take long for him to arrive home. For him, home was a decent sized hut not far from the Ussalry headquarters. A stable suitable for a single crab was attached to the hut, just behind it. It had been built with care, and was always stocked with plenty of food for Helios. Tarnok climbed off of hus back, and led him into the stall. With speed gained through years of practice, he unharnessed him and fed him.Once he was certain Helios was settled, he unlocked the door to his home and entered. The living room before him was beyond spartan, containing only a couch, a small table, and a few books. The kitchen was much the same, with a single counter and drawers filled with the most basic of utensils. The hall he turned into contained three doors, one on either side, and one at the end.As he walked down the hall, thought of the bedroom on his left, though he had no intention of sleeping yet. He opened the door at the end of the hall, and stepped into the reason most of his house was so bare. Inside was a library, with a set of shelves occupying every wall. A battered armchair stood in the corner, a table next to it holding his most recent reads. He sank into the chair with a sigh, and picked up a book.
OOC: Invoking the twelve hour rule.IC: TarnokTarnok sipped at his coffee. It was morning the next day, and the Onu-Matoran had risen two hours earlier to perform his preparations for the day. Fixing coffee, reading the news tablets....But it wasn't just that. He was still feeling restless, like there was something he could and should be doing, but wasn't. He felt like he was in the wrong place. And he knew where he should be; Ga-Koro. The winds of change were blowing, and that was where they were centered. He scowled, and drained his mug. He placed it in the sink, and went to saddle up Helios. He had traveling to do.OOC: Tarnok to Ga.
IC: The IdolThe Idol continued to put on his street concert.OOC: Open for interaction
OOC: Movin' ahead.IC: Hound & Co, CatacombsThe ragtag group spent hours retracing their steps through the catacombs, attempting to navigate the dark corridors untouched for aeons. Finally, with Hound's condition growing worse by the moment, they began to see familiar signs and areas. It was only a few minutes before they resurfaced that they realized Hajia and Gahuari were dressed in only their half-destroyed underclothes. Tirus, unembaressed from his years of training and living with the Ga-Toa, covered Hajia with his pea-coat, and Kirian, without emotion, sacrificed his cloak to cover Gahuari. A quarter of an hour later, they were standing outside the entrance of the catacombs, breathing in the slightly-less stale air of Onu-Koro.
IC: GravityDespite the situation, I felt my face grow momentarily red from Hajia's limited clothing at the moment. It wasn't that hard to distract myself, though, as carring both a Matoran and a Toa was a lot harder then I was letting on. Although, I didn't ask for help, and I didn't want any, this was my job.
IC: Incommodo"Y'know, I think I... Um... Left my fishing... Armour... at home. I'll just be leaving now." Incommodo was not a big fan of underground lakes, or fishing, or Quada, who seemed slightly insane. "Maybe I'll see you again sometime."
IC: The IdolThe Idol continued to singOOC: Interaction please! Look for a toa of sonics on the street side singing
IC: Hound & Co, Onu-KoroKirian and Tirus quickly and efficently navigated the tunnels of Onu-Wahi, reaching the Koro in minutes. The sight of Onu-Koro was still surprising, with its gothic structures and dimly lit alleys and streets. The streets were relatively empty, and Kirian and Tirus had little difficulty getting Hound to the nearest hospital, a large, eeriely decorated cathedral-like structure. As they barged in, a female Onu-Toa with a Mask of Healing helped them, and in a few moments, two nurses, one Onu-Matoran and one Po-Toa, arrived to help Gravity, taking Gahuari and Hajia. A few minutes later, Hound, Hajia, and Gahuari were each on medical tables, as the Onu-Toa listened to Kirian describe Hound's wound. Hajia had curled up into an even tighter ball, her eyes wide with fear as she wrapped the pea coat around herself.
IC: [Arkrak]"Inc," he hissed. "Let's just see what this guy is up to."
IC-Raxa:Raxa, meanwhile, had left Tajeh with the rest of the group as he walked about Onu-Koro, seemingly bored. However, on a few shops he noticed some letters. Eventually, annoyed with seeing them, he ripped one off of the shop window where it was taped, reading it closely. It mentioned some assassin group called the "Blood Cult," and said to meet up with them in the Stained Sapphire inn, in Ta-Koro, if you wanted to join.He smiled as he walked on back to Hound and the others-aside from hunting down Sinina, he had an idea of what he would want to do.
OOC: *whistles* Time to get more active......IC(Tajeh): Tajeh took a chair in the waiting room, as everyone else went into the back, towards the surgery rooms or other medical facilities. Tajeh hands on his knees and leaned forward, staring at the far wall, as images of the Vortixx he killed played in his head.
IC: GravityI stayed as close to Hajia as the doctors let me, the different beings needing room to work, and sighed. I really, really hoped there was something I could do to help her. Or for that matter, if there was anything anyone could do.
IC: Tirus, Onu-KoroWalking out of the surgery room, Tirus noticed Tajeh sitting in the waiting room. Walking over, Tirus sat down a few chairs over. "It wasn't like you thought, was it?" The Fe-Toa asked. "It wasn't glorious or brave. It was bloodstained and haunting." Hajia moaned in pain as the Po-Toa treated her multiple wounds, his face a mask of seriousness. The Onu-Matoran was equally serious as he treated Gahuari. The doctor treating Hound, however, was in shock that Hound was still alive. As she activated her Kanohi, having a basic understanding of the wound, Hound gritted his teeth in pain.OOC: By the way, I just updated my BZPRPG Profiles (Link in signature) with new profiles for Hound & Co (As well as Sinina). The new profiles contain much more description, and are not quite as noobish as the old ones.
IC: Demas parried the first blow and pivoted out of the way of the second, but his foot landed on a loose patch of gravel. It took only a moment to regain his footing, but the third blow was already on its way. Bahkui's sword struck his left thigh before he could fully bring up his own, opening a gash in the small gap between the plates of his armor. The Toa of Magnetism stumbled backward, sinking to one knee, his blade gripped tightly in his right hand.
IC(Tajeh): "I never really thought about what it would be like.....against someone else...."
IC: Tirus, Onu-Koro"It's not honorable or pretty, that's for sure." Tirus said with a gruff sigh. Pulling a cask of whiskey from his pocket, he took a swig and then offered it to Tajeh.
IC(Tajeh): Tajeh reached for the cask, hesitated, and pulled his hand back. "No, no thank you, Tirus."
IC: Tirus, Onu-Koro"Suit yourself." The Fe-Toa said, taking another swig before returning the cask to his pocket. "I'll be right back. Something I gotta do." Tirus said, standing up and walking out of the waiting room, out of the hospital, and out into the street.
OOC: Last night was busier than I anticipated. But anyway, TGIF!IC: Wokapu, billionaire mining company owner and philanthropist, lay in his bed, broken and useless. His sister was taken far away from hereHe began to think about his conversation with Wokiya, shortly after the charity ball ended. -----------“How did he even get inside the ball?!” Wokapu angrily threw the small tablet across the table. Fortunately, it stayed perfectly intact. Wokiya’s face had remained still – she struggled to fully process what was happening. Wokapu’s mansion was being practically raided by investigators and guardsmen after a second set of unfortunate news came: there were explicit notes found in the Onu-Wahi region of a plot to drain Wokapu’s finances and leave him and his sister on the cold Ko-Koro streets. The detectives tried to decipher the plan, but it was essentially written in code. Naturally, Wokapu was growing frustrated, and Wokiya was growing scared. “I’m a good person, why is this happening to me of all people?” Wokapu sighed. “It has to have something to do with the Cultured Gentry,” said the Matoran butler, carrying his trademark cloth on his arm and wearing the slicked pressed clothes a butler could have. Wokapu nodded and considered the butler’s suggestion, “Of course it does, and I suppose I am it’s Chief of Operations. Still, why us? We have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the villagers”“Perhaps certain secrets were leaked within the inner circle,” Wokiya said.“The only person who knows about that is you and me. Not even the butler knows!” Wokapu said. He then glanced quickly at the finely dressed Matoran. After a moment of no one talking, Wokapu saw it fit to end this little meeting. “I can’t just let this one slide under the table. These rumors of a plot to plunder our finances could have factual basis,” Wokapu said, “My men and I will look into this situation, pronto”The Toa of Air then looked to his sister, “That means that you have nothing to fear, Wokiya. We will have both of our assets protected. If not, then I’ll make sure you have everything you need from me to uphold our standard of living”Wokapu walked out of the living and into his private quarters. He needed to think. Were there any enemies he had made recently? -----------After all this time, Wokapu still had not come up with any possible culprit. All in the memories, the broken Toa thought, it’s in there somewhere. He needed to keep searching.
IC-Raxa:"Tirus," Raxa said, catching the Toa of Iron's attention quickly. Tirus turned to the voice, seeing Raxa walk down the street. "Whatever it is you're on to, I've got not one, but two hunts of mine to do. Tell Hound that I'll be gone for a while." That said, he quickly brushed past Tirus without a farewell, heading on off to Ta-Wahi.
IC: Tirus, Onu-KoroTirus grunted what Raxa could only hope to be an agreement, and then went back to walking, one hand on his warhammer, the other grasping his whiskey cask.
IC: The IdolThe Idol was bored. His performance attracted many a passerby, but no one of great importance (meaning players) had taken interest. He continued to sing and strum his guitar.OOC: Open for interaction
