IC: SythrihI wish I could say it gets less confusing... Just wait a while, then its confusing."That's alright," the Onu-Toa said, "Just as long you know now, right?"
IC: Zyron"That's definitely possible" Zyron said and nodded."And certainly a good place to start. But now, are we going back in there", he gestured towards the door to Room 11, "and kinda... you know, synchronize our actions, or would you rather like that you - that we - work on our own?"Both approaches were okay with him, for different reasons.
IC: FerronFerron finished his drink with one last, massive drag."Another" he said and showed the required pay over, the bartender complied.OOC: Also, hey Frost Dragon, Zuria asked Krell a question.
IC: Krell"I'm fine," I lied, but still glad that someone was thinking of me. I didn't need to burden Zuria anymore with how I was feeling, or what I was seeing. "Nothing really to say about my visions. Same old, I lived a horrible life, and it would probably make a whole lot of people happy if I just died right here."Not exactly how I meant it to come out, but hey, it was a bit rough for me right now. I still didn't want to go into any detail, for both Zuria's sake and mine.
IC: FerronFerron stepped out of the pub with the bottle firmly clutched in his good hand, stepping over to the others."Haven't you eaten yet?" he asked "well come on then, I'm starving"
IC: Arkrak"Uh, what about a more traditional type of first date?"
IC: PirokPirok hurried after Skyra.IC: Myka"Well," Myka whispered, glancing back at Room 11, "The point of my plan was to get a chance to hear Elax's side of the story, and if we bring them along I don't think he'll be alive long enough to tell us."IC: Commodum"So, dinner then room?"
IC: TarnokJoy of all joys."Yes sir. Any idea where he might be?"
IC: [Arkrak]"Alright."IC: [uyism]Uyism was still standing silently behind Tarnok.
IC: CommodumCommodum grinned, then ran off, presumably to talk to the chef.
IC: [Arkrak]"Well then, that went well."
IC: Incommodo"Yes, it did." Incommodo replied, too busy glaring hostilely at Nikarra to pay much attention.
IC: [Arkrak]"So uh, what's with the hate?"
IC (Kaiapo)The soundtrack of Onu-Koro was low and percussive; hammers and picks kept time in the mines, and great machines rumbled deep bass lines. The Matoran who lived here in the deep underground were solid and silent; the sounds that they made were only the pounding of their tools and the hum of their inventions. When work ended, the village fell into a deep, dark, full silence that pressed on the eardrums and seemed to absorb all noise.A tall, solidly built Toa worked among the Onu-Matoran, his armour as black as the earth and the surrounding darkness, which was pushed back only by the soft yellow glow of intermittent lightstones. His face was stoic and calm as he drew back his fist, and then slammed it into the earthen wall. His hands were covered in gloves of black iron that protected him from any damage, and enhanced the effect of his blows on the wall of dense earth and stone. As his fist made contact, the wall exploded, a shower of soil and rocks bursting from the wall, leaving a crater several times the size of the Toa's already large fist. The Toa continued his assault, throwing punch after punch into the earthen wall. His blows were already strong, but, aided by his elemental powers, he was able to do even more work, clearing away cubic feet of dirt in seconds.A whistle sounded, breaking through the thrumming of machines and the sound of picks and fists on earth and rock. The Toa stopped, as did the workers around him. His skin glistened with sweat.A Matoran wearing a purple Kakama stepped forward, an iStone in one hand and the whistle in the other. “Shift's done!” he called. He piped another note on the whistle. The noises of work were replaced by the sounds of low, muttered conversation as Matoran gathered up their tools and began to walk down the tunnel that led back to Onu-Koro. This underground road was only half-complete; work would go on for another few weeks before the tunnel was finished and ready for use.The black-armoured Toa wiped the sweat from his brow with a towel, which he threw over his shoulder before following the rest of the workers down the tunnel. As the group emerged into Onu-Koro, the Toa split off from the rest, waving goodbye to his coworkers and friends. He made his way towards the residential part of the village; he had no desire to visit a pub tonight. His home was a typical hut: round and domed with a door and two windows. The door war unlocked; the Toa had nothing worth stealing. He entered, and was greeted by a single lightstone that cast a friendly yellow light over the inside of the hut, and a letter that lay on the floor, no doubt having been slipped under his door by the mailman..The Toa didn't look surprised, or curious, or much of anything at all. He merely hung his towel up, then reached down and picked the beige paper off of the floor. Unfolding it, he read the following words.Kaiapo,I don't believe you have heard of me, but I have heard of you. Your name is known throughout the island; you are spoken of as an intelligent, well-meaning Toa who serves the Matoran faithfully.I am looking to gather a team of Toa akin to the Toa of old. Too long has this island suffered under the rule of Toa who are not heroes, who lord over the Matoran like kings. The true purpose of the Toa, as you no doubt are aware, is to serve and protect the Matoran, not rule them.I want you to join me, Kaiapo. I am looking for true Toa, Toa who are selfless and honourable. Alone, we are merely specks of light in a sea of darkness. But, together, we can shine brighter than the sun, and bring hope to the Matoran once more.Meet me in Ko-Koro. I look forward to seeing you.IuliusKaiapo's blank expression had change to a slight frown by the time he finished the letter. Who was this Iulius? He was right- Kaiapo had never heard of him before. From whom had he heard Kaiapo's name? Why did he think that a simple Toa of Earth would make a good addition to a Toa team?Kaiapo's first impulse was to ignore the letter. He was not a proud man; he didn't seek after glory or honour. He liked his life here in Onu-Koro, working alongside the villagers. He didn't want to fight battles and “shine brighter than the sun.” He liked the underground, in fact, and bright light hurt his eyes. But he couldn't shake the sense that this Iulius's words were true. There were very few Toa who actually followed the Code of old and pledged to protect the Matoran. Most pursued their own paths, using their powers for their own ends. Kaiapo had met many of these kinds of Toa, and had beaten some of them up, sending them running with their tails between their legs. His curiosity had been awakened. Could this Iulius really gather a team of Toa that would actually make a difference? It seemed an impossible task; the last Toa team to make an impact on the island had been the legendary First Toa, led by Toa Tahu. In all the years between, there had never been a team like them unified in their vow to protect the island and its inhabitants from all evil, even until their last breath. It was an opportunity, Kaiapo decided at last, that he couldn't afford to miss out on, if it was true. The least he could do was check it out, and speak to Iulius in person. He would leave in the morning.Sure enough, nine hours later, a solitary Toa of Earth walked out of the village of earth, entering a tunnel that led to the island surface.
IC-Iulius:"Not at all, though last I knew, he was down in this area as well," Iulius replied. "I was just here to send him a message, after all. I want you to make sure he got it. Or, rather--" he cut off after a moment, hearing the whisper of the once-loud sound of a whistle passing through the tunnels, signalling the end of a shift. After that, the patter of footsteps as Matoran left the mine, the heavier falls of a Toa's black boots hitting the ground among them. Iulius smiled."Actually, Tarnok, nevermind that. Just come with me on to Ko-Koro, and then I'll give you my job offer."IC: TarnokJoy of all joys."Yes sir. Any idea where he might be?"
IC: Tarnok"Yes sir." The Onu-Matoran replied, unsurprised by Iulius' sudden change of instructions. Not only was he a De-Toa, which meant he had probably heard something Tarnok didn't, but he was a bit odd at times.
IC: Zyron"I agree" Zyron nodded. "But if we just disappear right now we might appear suspicious, and that's never a good thing. So what about we go back in there, you tell them... well, a small detail or something that isn't really helpful but at least sounds like it could be valuable information."He shrugged. "At least that's what I would do."IC: Myka"Well," Myka whispered, glancing back at Room 11, "The point of my plan was to get a chance to hear Elax's side of the story, and if we bring them along I don't think he'll be alive long enough to tell us."
IC: Incommodo (The Unfortunate Fikou, Onu-Koro)"Why don't you ask her?"IC: Myka (The Unfortunate Fikou, Onu-Koro)"They already know that we know nothing; the best option would be to just disappear off now."
IC: Zyron"Well if you put it that way... you're probably right." It had only been a suggestion anyway."Let's go then", he said. "The Kumu islets, right?"
IC: Myka (The Unfortunate Fikou, Onu-Koro)"The Kumu Islets." Myka smiled. "We'll have to go through Le-Wahi to reach them, but thanks to the highway, it won't take too long."The Ko-Matoran began walking away from Room 11, expecting Zyron to follow her as she left the inn, ignoring the new people who had appeared while they were talking.
IC: Zuriana"Don't say that!" Zuria said softly. "Would the original Toa have gotten anywhere if they started killing each other every time they had a disagreement or made a mistake? All I've seen you do is good, and I can tell when someone's just acting. You aren't like that anymore."Suddenly Ferron had reappeared. "Haven't you eaten yet?" he asked. "Well come on then, I'm starving."Zuriana raised an eyebrow. "You were quick!"
IC: Ferron"I've... had lots of practice" Ferron responded, choosing not to go into detail about his many lonely nights in a pub somehwere."Now, how about those meat sticks?"
IC: [Arkrak]"So uh, how's it going between you and Inc?"
IC: Agate - Home, Onu-koro -Agate began to toss and turn a little as the parakuka gave her nightmares. Stop it....
IC: ParakukaNo... came a half-whispered reply inside the Fe-Toa's head. Good.Instead of letting up, the visions seemed to increase. They became more detailed, more life-like then the first ones. It would be all too much for Agate, but the worst was yet to come.Eventually, a form was beginning to take shape. A ghostly form that seemed to get more real as the minutes -or was it hours- passed on.
IC: Incommodo & Nikarra"Well, Arkrak, Incommodo is having great difficulty letting go of something that happened a long time ago.""People died, Nikarra. People I cared about.""Incommodo, you're not the only one here who lost someone that day."
IC: Caige (Onu-Koro)"This smoothie is pretty banging."-Teezy
IC: Chromia (Onu-Koro)"You can't beat a good smoothie." Chromia agreed.
IC: Caige (Smoothie Shop, Onu-Koro)"I'd take you over a smoothie."-Teezy
IC: ChromiaChromia smiled. "Well, it's good to know I matter that much to you -- from personal experience, I can say that there are very few things most men will put before food."
IC: Caige (Restaurant, Onu-Koro)"Hot girl > cool smoothie."-Teezy
IC: [Arkrak]"I see."
IC: Zharuk, Dakan, Vhisoli, Cosi, Pineas, and NPC InterrogatorIC: Zharuk"... So that's my testimony." The five members of the high council of the HWP had just finished giving their statements to the interrogator. He nodded and said "Very well then. I hope we can trust you. We will continue our investigations." With that, the HWP members were escorted out of the building by several guards of the ussalry, the guards keeping a very watchful eye on them. Once they were out of eyeshot and earshot, Zharuk said to the rest of them "We are going to Ga-Wahi. Pack up our things." Returning to their building, they packed up their stuff and headed over to Ga-KoroOOC: HWP members to Ga
IC: ZyronZyron followed right behind Myka, again. Then he thought that maybe he should change something about that, for somehow he didn't like the idea of just walking behind her all the time. So he quickened up his pace a bit until he was right beside her, shooting a small glance at the newcomers, but he came to the conclusion that right now there were more important things."Wait, there's a highway in Le-Wahi?!"IC: Myka (The Unfortunate Fikou, Onu-Koro)"The Kumu Islets." Myka smiled. "We'll have to go through Le-Wahi to reach them, but thanks to the highway, it won't take too long."The Ko-Matoran began walking away from Room 11, expecting Zyron to follow her as she left the inn, ignoring the new people who had appeared while they were talking.
IC: Krell"Alright then," I said, glancing at Zuria. I didn't say it outloud, but hoped she knew what I was thinking. Thank you.
IC: Myka (Onu-Koro)Myka stared at Zyron for a few seconds. "You know, the Highway? The one from Onu-Koro to Le-Koro? It's been around for a century, now..."
IC: ZurianaZuria caught his gaze briefly, and as the three walked into Rahi-On-A-Stick, she wore a knowing smile. She was a regular customer; almost every Matoran in the restaurant knew her, especially the one behind the counter. "Emu," she addressed him."Hello Zuria!" he replied warmly. "You seem cheerful.""As always!""'Course," he chuckled. "The usual then, is it?""For me, yes," she gestured to Krell and Ferron."Ah, hello!" Emu greeted the two. "What'll you be havin' today then?"OOC: Yep, I just named an NPC Emu. Deal with it ![]()
OOC: Wotz. Once I understand you I'll stop being a noob, okay?IC: KrellI shrugged at the Matoran, and glanced at Zuria. One thing that really stinks when you don't have any memories, you ave a hard time ordering something. "Uh... Ferron can go first, I'm still looking," I said, looking around for a menu or... something.
IC: FerronFerron stepped over to the counter and looked down into the Matoran's gaze of mild curiosity""Anything to recommend to a really hungry toa?" he asked
IC: Emu (NPC)"Well, I could give you a long talk about them, or I could give you the menu," Emu winked and handed some parchment over to Ferron and Krell.OOC: It's meal DIY time with Lazy WotzTM!
