IC: NicolNicol shook his head, "You guys are all insane, just tell me where the King is."
Ic: Hiemalis looked at the guard who had helped save his life, but his gaze was not one of gratitude. He seemed confused at first, then bewildered, and finally angry. "You insult me," he finally said in rage. "You act like a soldier of the law, and yet you do not live by your own rules," he barked, grabbing Corik at the neck and lifting him off the ground. "You know what's right and what's wrong. You know the rules you are to live by. I live by my laws, I expect nothing less from anyone else."He flung him at the mound of slush and ice, seeing the toa plump into it, suffocating from the shock of suddenly being immersed in something to frigid. "You disgust me." Hiemalis walked away, avoiding the main street where people could see him.He did fire a look at Soran, one that said, Come to me, before he vanished from view.
IC: SoranI smirked at the idiotic Guard, before following after Hiemalis, I was curious what Ambages' Master wanted with me. He seemed like an interesting fellow, not pathetic like the majority of the folks here. The guard was a prime example of the failure of these Matoran. Always preaching their virtues and codes, but never living up to them when it mattered. It seemed Hiemalis and I felt the same way on that matter.
IC-Corik:Odd beings live on this world, Corik thought, blasting the water and slush around him into steam and drying himself off quickly. He stood up quickly, watching the being walk away. He shook his head."I live by my own bloody rules," he muttered, "Not the rules of the guard. Half the time they do what's wrong just because of mass appeal." He then shrugged, walking onward. If everybody on this island had to be a vindictive fool, so be it. He'd dealt with them before, he could deal with them now.
OOC: Tawara has already started cooking the Mahi, Nebula.
Look at the post where she talks about the "'lumes", it's at the beginning.IC: Tawara, Ta-Ga Border"Wow, guys. Nice job. I had no idea you were so good at findin' food," said Tawara to Kitsune and Jikal. Then she turned to Raion. "Look, uh, I'm sorry, but we really shouldn't touch that thing. It could be rotten inside -- we don't know what might have found it before we did. Although I'll admit it looks fine."OOC: Just in case you're confused by Tawara's apparent dislike of Raion, she's referring to the Kane-Ra, not Raion.
OOC: Okay, I am SO feeling like I've lost track of things right now. I haven't been able to read all the staff posts, so if this is SIsk acting totally whack, so be it. Somebody give the poor guy a hand, and if it's cool, maybe he can find Kol Uskey again.IC:One of the more uncommon sights in Ta-Koro were Le-Koronans. Sure, they traveled to the village of fire, but it usually meant they were there for trading or business. Either only lasted a few hours, before the merchants would leave the hot and arid village, to return to the lush jungles. This one did not fit into that category. Sisk was a Gukko force tamer, occasional pilot and since the death of Le-Koro hero Tamaru, an adventurer as well. Until he had taken a falling building to the back, while rescuing Kol Uskey. The other Matoran was from Onu-Koro, if he remembered that right. And he was terribly frightened of a Toa of Ice. Or being of ice. It was all a blur. The destruction of the hospital had done enough to send the Matoran into a slight state of shock, but he had been well into recovery, talking to Kol...just before the other Matoran ran off. Sisk had been rushing after him, when the remains of the hospital exploded. He'd stopped in his tracks, torn between continuing his pursuit or to return to the colum of smoke rising above the buildings behind him. No, Kol knew who this evil being was, so he was as good a place to get more answers. But as Sisk moved closer to the prison, he heard more buildings crumble. His jogging place slowed to a walk, as a sort of sensory overload overtook him. There was too much going on at once, he didn't know where to focus. So Sisk slowly continued to walk, now lacking both a direction and a task.OOC: It would be greatly appreciated if one of you folks who tore the place up the past week could help me get back into the flow, I'd really like to make his presence in the game matter. Sisk is open for interaction.
IC: Ta-koro - The Royal Court -
"Oh he's inside the court...as always." Guard #1 pointed toward the door they were standing next to, as they always did. The King watched as Nicol entered his throne room. "Ah, Nicol..." The King knew he preferred being called that, at least to his face. "I have summoned you for a very important mission." He gestured toward the huge mass of pamphlets by The Scribe. The Scribe himself looked completely exhausted. "As you are mostly well aware. Talk among the commoners about this...dark wizard has made it to my ears time and time again. This Makuta...as the commoners call him, has gone to far this time, for centuries he's remained relativity dormant, leaving the kingdom and it's affairs alone. This has remained unchanged...until now." The King tossed Nicol a note. "This just came in, it's the last message The Scout was able to send from the village of stone. It details the destruction of the village by the dark wizards reptilian minions." The King's expression remained extremely serious. "For decades we The Royal Court have had very little interaction with the commoners, and they little with us. But this much change now...the people of this kingdom must know that their king will no longer tolerate the actions of this dark wizard...those pamphlets are a declaration of war against the dark wizard!" The Scribe went up to Nicol, and handed him a pamphlet to read. The pamphlets read as followed:
ATTENTION! Good People of the Kingdom!Your King has heard your cries of anguish and sorrow as a result of the evil deeds of the Dark Wizard, Makuta. Therefore on this day, The King has declared war on the Dark Wizard. The King's armies are stretch thin, however, and therefore open enrollment in The King's army as been initialized.
The time is now to stand up for your Kingdom! We shall not allow Makuta to terrorize the Kingdom any longer! If you wish to join the army and fight. Come to The Royal Court.
We will march upon the Dark Wizard's temple soon...act now!
IC: NicolNicol looked at the pamphlet, resisting the urge to laugh, and not betraying any emotions to the king. "So let me guess, you want me to pass these out."
OOC: Anyone have anything for me to help with? I have an overarching goal (Finding out who caused what happened in Ga-wahi, stopping whoever did it.) but I need something to do at the moment. Any help?IC: Mantoxis strolled down the streets of Ta-wahi, looking for something to do. He scoured every street corner, and looked through each alley. "I hate it when I can't find work. Spotting a map, he moved toward it. "Ah, the royal court. Wonder if there's any work for me there.OOC: Snelly, is this your king character, or an NPC?
OOC: It is my character.
IC: Ta-koro - The Royal Court -
"Indeed", The King replied. "I want you to go forth and give out these pamphlet's to the entire kingdom. Post them on every bulletin board, give one to every important official, and don't stop until everyone in the entire kingdom has seen it."
"And of course, you'll get a very nice bonus in this month's pay for all this extra work."
IC: MixmasterThe Skakdi eventually got fed up with the boredness and heat. So he made his way to a more... pleasing area.OOC: Mixmaster to Onu-Wahi.
OOC: Any work for me, Snelly?IC: Mantoxis strolled up to the front of the palace, wondering what to do. His prescence unannounced could bring unwanted trouble, so he decided to ask a guard. "Excuse me, but I request an audience with the king. Tell him I am a toa looking for work."
IC: NicolNicol shook his head, "Yeah, no. First off you know I don't care for the money. Second, this is waste of my time. I'm not just going to stand in the streets yelling, 'Urgent, urgent. Important Message from the King.' You know as well as I do that there are dozens of others who could do just as good a job. After all, this isn't about speed. No, I've get a better idea. You mentioned how you lost contact with the Scout. Well I don't know who you sent to find her, but I can guarantee I can get there much faster, and you know it. Let me find the Scout and bring her back. Whoever you sent, will just take forever. I am after all, the fastest being in this court other than the Scout, so I can find and bring her back the fastest. Not to mention if she's in trouble, I can carry back a message as well."
IC: KraynKrayn nodded. "'Alright, let's go."IC: SongSong resisted the urge to throttle Laviha. Calmly, she looked at Laviha. She didn't glare or scowl, just looked at her. She was distinctly aware that she had done something serious to offend Laviha, though she was a little shaky on what. "I would point out that, in this case, I have been polite. I would appreciate a measure of the same." Song calmly replied. "Though by your reaction to whatever I did, I might not deserve the same. Respectfully speaking, I was freaking drunk and I'm fairly certain it was obvious. So I'm not 100% certain of the details of what occurred."
OOC: @Onarax - You're so...fired.
Though seriously...you're kinda messing up my plans...I mean...The Courier is kinda suppose to do this sorta thing...XD@ Rocka's Bane - Sure I can give you something to do, but the guards are gonna have to keep your character busy for a moment.
IC: Ta-koro - The Royal Court -
The King frowned. "Courier...I think you deeply misunderstand me. This isn't the kind of thing you can just say no to. Now I am ordering you to go and send out the pamphlets. I don't care if you get others to help you or not, just make sure it get's done!" His voice sounded rather irritable.
----------------------------------------
Guard #1 looked at Mantoxis. "Well, from the sounds of things, The King is rather busy, but if you'd like to wait right here for a bit, he'll probably see you when he is finished.
ooC: Actually Couriers deliver individual messages to beings, not roam the streets passing out pamphlets. IC: NicolNicol raised an eyebrow, "My someone has a temper today. I merely suggested a course of action more fitting to my skills."
IC: "Yes..... I will wait" Mantoxis settled himself outside the doors of the palace, waiting for the guard's call, "So many beings of power, yet they cannot unite for a common cause. Mata-Nui, what is this world coming to!"OOC: Snelly, Onorax is right. That's a job for a herald.
IC: Skyra - Heading to Vakama's Hut -Skyra felt like this was deja vu, he'd visited Vakama more times this past week than he had his entire life. He just sighed as they approached the door, and he knocked on Vakama's Hut. OOC: Well regardless, saying no to The King is kinda taboo.
And besides, The Courier can always have NPC's do most of the work. And I always though of The Courier as a herald as well...at least that's what I had in mind. Besides, I just wanted him to deliver the pamphlets, he doesn't have to yell out anything.
IC: Ta-koro - The Royal Court -
The King sighed. "Nicol...I realize that this is a bit outside your line of work, but if you recall, The Herald died of sudden illness recently, and I have yet to find a replacement."
ooC: I'm not trying to start an argument on this, Nicol is trying to start one with the King. Besides what does he care what the King thinks. The King could lock him away, but he could escape. IC: Nicol"So you come to me. Look, why not just send a bunch of pigeons, they could pass them out. Another option is to just send a few guards. They could pass them out during their patrols." Nicol suggested.
OOC: Okay, I wasn't really arguing, I was just kinda confused why he was so resistant. No matter though...
IC: - Ta-koro - The Royal Court -
"The guards can only go as far as their patrols will allow, which is just this caste, and pigeons cannot hammer pamphlets on bulletin boards. I'll tell you what though, you deliver a stack of pamphlets to each village leader, and give them instructions to make sure everyone in their villages read them. That would be within your duties, and will take you less time."
IC: LavihaSong's politeness and attempt to make conversation on the neutral side of things took Laviha slightly by surprised but it made her glad to see that this wasn't going to turn out to be an unpleasant situation like the rest...hopefully."You have a point, Song, and I will acknowledge it with respect. I hold slight disdain for them naturally so forgive me and in fact, I apologize for my...rudeness." she started, attempting to mend whatever bit of a relationship they had."Anyways, can you tell me what you remember to make my job easier?"
IC-Grochi:Grochi sighed, relieved. It looked like these two weren't going to kill each other, and him in the process.IC-Kaylov:Kaylov looked up at Skyra, who had arrived there with him. "Greetings, Commander," he said, wondering why the Toa of Air hadn't noticed him. "The ship is here, I take it?"
IC: NicolNicol smiled, "Works for me, on one condition. You let me go and find the scout when I'm done. I've been stuck in this place forever, so let me atleast get out of it for a short time."
IC: - Ta-koro - The Royal Court -
"Very well. You may. The Prince and The Cannoneer will most likely run into you, as they were sent to find The Scout quite a bit ago, at The Seer's suggestion." He gestured toward The Seer.
IC: Skyra - Outside Turaga Vakama's Hut -
"Oh hello...again. Yes, we confirmed that the Turaga is definitely being held on-board. And know we must let Turaga Vakama know, guess you had the same idea."
IC: SongSong grimaced slightly. "I vaguely remember saying something about hiding behind a hunchback, having my intelligence insulted, and lunging at someone. That's about it. I had a lot to drink." Then she looked at Grochi in horror as she realized who the hunchback was.IC: KraynKrayn glared at Kaylov. He had pet peeve about not being acknowledged.
IC: Mantoxis turned towards the guards, "Is the king ready to see me? I have been waiting for a while now, and would like to know if he desires to see me. If he is still not ready, I will wait."
IC-Kaylov:Kaylov rolled his eyes. "I didn't forget about you, Krayn," he said. "However, is it not normal procedure to speak to the highest ranking member first?" He smiled, and knocked again.IC-Grochi:Grochi smiled down at Song. "In case you can't tell, I'm not a hunchback anymore," he said, laughing. "Thanks to Laviha here. And don't worry, I'm not mad. I've been called worse." He then looked up to the Turaga's hut, where the two Toa that had been watching them apparently went to. This wasn't going to end well.
IC: LavihaSong couldn't help but smirk and chuckle a bit upon Song's recollection of past events and her face when she realized Grochi was the hunchback she oh so insulted."Well, I attempted to pull a prank on you guys as Raknar, had a catfight with you, got insulted because I was a thief and due to my poverty. Truthfully, nothing very exciting happened, if you can say so for yourself."
IC: Krayn"Yes, yes it is." Krayn replied, slightly annoyed. "But that could easily have been remedied by saying something like 'Hello Commander, Hello Lieutenant.'"IC: SongSong facepalmed. "Oh, Mata Nui." Song's face was rather red. "I can't say I wouldn't have thought the things I said, but I can say that had I not been drunk, they wouldn't have been said."
IC-Kaylov:"I'm sure you'll be alright."IC-Grochi:Grochi smiled again at what Song just said. "Honestly," he began, "That's better than I would normally do." He laughed slightly. "So, now that we're all civil, can we please get some lunch?"
IC: Gyren opened his eyes and turned to see the siblings arrive. He then looked to the corpse of the Kane-Ra. "I wouldn't eat that, it looks like most of the innards were ravaged." the Toa replied as he stood up and walked over to the Mahi. He savored the smell and turned to Tawara. "How long till it's finished? I haven't eaten for the past 3 days or so."
IC: Laviha"I'm glad to hear that, Song. Like Grochi said, now that things have become civil between us, lets keep it that way." she said smiling, offering a hand for Song to shake.
IC, Aurax: "Let's move, guys!" said Aurax as he picked up the shield and ran after Stannis. Outside, people were running around like a confused swarm of Nui-Rama. "Which way to the cable car, Stannis?" he asked.
IC: Nicol Nicol tensed, he hated the Seer, "All the more reason for me to go. Now tell me, where are the pamphlets, I want to get this done with as soon as possible."
IC:Vakama opened his door for Skyra. "Yes?" he asked, "What is it?"
IC: SongHesitantly, and resisting the urge to shock her, Song shook Laviha's hand. She smiled slightly. "I think I can do that."IC: KraynKrayn looked at Vakama. "We're representatives from the Le-Koro Gukko Force. Do you mind if we come in? It's about Turaga Onewa."
IC: Raion & Kitsune, Ta / Ga BorderRaion's grin widened. "If that's what it looks like to you, then you might want to get your eyes checked. This one's been freshly killed, and by me to boot." He said triumphantly. Kitsune rolled her eyes once more before laying out the food she'd found.
IC:"Absolutely," Vakama replied, ushering them into his hut.
IC: Tawara, Ta-Ga Border"No... A Kane-Ra? By yourself? ...Impossible...you must be one karz of a hunter, Toa Raion..." said Tawara in wonder, her respect for Kitsune's brother greatly increased.
IC: Gyren smirked. He shrugged and put his lenses on. He sat back on the log. The young Toa's mask glowed as he quickly looked the Kane-Ra corpse over f "You've soiled the meat it by dragging it across the ground. Any wounds are now covered in dirt and I doubt a fire could cleanse any infections you've caused. This Kane-Ra probably lost its land and had to migrate here. And Jikal is taking a long time. Perhaps he's been ambushed or something, but if so we would have heard lightning and screams." Gyren commented as he yawned.
