IC: Mantis
Handing off the dirty work... Mantis resolutely faced his new opponent.
IC: Rail - Gym
After the Rahkshi of Magnetism handed off his treasures, he stepped forward, reducing the wall to tiny scraps of metal which then shot towards him and clung to his body. He had dispersed his previous armor coating before heading towards his dorm the previous day, so it made sense to him that he should reaply another coating over his suit before entering the fight. Lowering himself into a stance more combat-worthy, He then pointed the sharp ends of both pairs of Tiger Claws towards his opponent.
"I want you to remember how you insisted on this course of action while you're in the Infirmary," he growled, preparing himself for the inevitable attack that was coming his way. "Now come at me if you dare!"
IC Fog:
Fog slowly drew his harpoon gun, and began to ready his powers for something.
IC: Xara - Gym.
I put down the equipment beside me, summoned up a chair from the gym floor, and sat down to enjoy the spectacle of Rail doing his thing, toying with a Talon in my hand while I watched.
IC: Suvak gave a long and weary sigh. "I am not a philosopher, I'm afraid. I am remarkably unqualified to answer questions like that. I suggest trying to loo it up in the library. And if we don't have book like that in the library, make a request and we can get them."
IC: Jayar / Hallways
At Era's remark Jayar raised a skeptical eyebrow, but his mouth curved slightly into an almost mischievous grin. Or, you know, whatever the equivalent of a Rahkshi doing those would be. He considered, for a moment, wrapping one arm around Hoto and saying, "What was that?" but decided against it.
IC: Shark / Library-->Cauldron
Shark put away his book. It was time to begin. He left the Library and headed to the Causeway, passing impassively another inflammatory note before leaping into the air and beginning to the Cauldron.
Arriving at his destination, he began to look through the selection of paint for a certain shade of green. Finding it at last, he proceeded to grab a piece of scrap metal and paint it, carefully avoiding getting any on himself. When he was done, he sat back and waited for the paint to dry. It was an important, though hopefully unnecessary, aspect of his plan.
Ic: "I have," the recorder rasped. Suvak could almost sense the frustration in the dissonant words. "Lacking. Wondered if value of experience gave you insight. If you yourself had experience of rebirth process. You are the only non-rahkshi for miles."
IC: Mantis
Mantis started to circle his opponent, gauging his combat prowess and waiting for him to make his first move.
IC: Riptide(Revenge)-forest
Riptide shot and the arrow landed dead on target. Your turn Rider.
IC: Hoto - Hallways
"...what 'lovey-dovey' stuff?" Hoto asked, genuinely confused. Unless she meant... Hoto looked down in embarrassment.
IC: Fang - Gym
Another ingot added. The blade seemed ridiculously long and thin until Fang slowly warmed it with his own plasma and folded the metal over. The whole piece quickly went into the fire, and the process began again. Warm, flatten, cool, warm, flatten, cool, fold. It all fell into a mechanical and pleasing rhythm as the hardened core of the blade took shape.
IC: Exxan - Gym.
I edged a little closer, watching him folding the metal. So that was how the blades retained their strength.
"Fang...." I pulled out the vial of lerahk poison Sidonas had stolen and hidden in my room. Apparently it had belonged to Silencer, and since Illusive didn't seem to want it back, I realised it might have another use, "....is there any way you could add this to the weapon? Infuse it into the steel somehow."
__________________________________________________________
IC: Era - Hallway.
"I was kidding.... mostly...." I turned to Zelnos. "Which way?"
IC: Rail - Gym
Rail thrust his foot forward, faking a lunge just to see how his opponent would react.
IC KAt:
I sat forward, interested, "What's that?"
IC: Sidonas - Infirmary
Sidonas tried to get up. But fell back in bed due to the stab.
OOC: I'm seriously just pulling this all of Wikipedia and adapting where necessary.
Fang apparently knows his forging or at least read enough to be competent.
IC: Fang - Gym
Fang's eyes snapped up from his work filled with anger. No one interrupts...
"S-sure," he stammered, cooling down a little. He let his hands cool before reaching out to examine the bottle. Many liquids would most likely just evaporate out of the metal, but this seemed like something special. He waited for Exxan's response to Kat's question.
IC: Mantis
Mantis feigned a jump away from Rail's foot, using it as a distraction to slide behind him, Kamas ready.
IC: Exxan - Gym.
"Lerahk poison. Probably only low-level; I wasn't game enough to try it on myself." I explained, "I figure since I'm not the best fighter in the school, I could use any edge I can get." handing the vial to Fang, I went back to pumping the bellows.
IC: Fang - Gym
Fang nodded and gingerly considered the bottle. Lehrak poison, in theory, was potent enough to leave a residue in the metal, even at a low level. If he could infuse it with the edges, it may poison those Exxan sliced with them. Just the thought of Exxan attacking another Rahkshi would normally have filled him with rage, but he was too absorbed in the task to notice.
He set the poison aside for now to warm and stretch the metal once more. When it was ready to be folded again, Fang carefully opened the stopper and dripped the liquid across the edges of the blade. It hissed and bubbled as it touched the hot metal, giving off a noxious odor. Fang began to feel lightheaded just from leaning over it. He quickly folded the blade over and sealed the poison in with some plasma. With a few more bends, it should be distributed evenly. The tips were already gaining a slightly greenish tinge as it cooled.
With a few more folds, the core appeared ready. The edges were lined with a pale green of poison, and though they were thin, they gave no indication of breaking. The spine would be the most fragile piece now. Fang picked up another two ingots and began to knead them together in the flames. Just the continued contact with the poisonous residue of the blade made his vision blur. He leaned over the fire as he blended the ingots and tried to focus his mind again. It would be a dangerous weapon.
IC: Exxan - Gym.
"Maybe you should have worn gloves?" I suggested meekly, "I didn't think you'd be actually touching the poison yourself."
IC: Riptide (Rider)
Rider willed Riptide to spin his sword around and charge forward on a tree, swinging it and cutting it clean off. He then span and swung it into all of the trees around him. They all fell down. Thankfully, there were no rahi in this forest.
IC: Fang - Gym
"When you find gloves that can stand these temperatures, let me know," Fang snapped wearily. "Besides, I'm fine."
He pushed himself up and brought the ingots back over to the worktable, but his movements weren't as fluid as before, and he staggered slightly as he turned. The outer layers would not be as time-consuming, as they did not need to be as strong. Only a few rounds of pressing and folding should do. Fang tried to get absorbed back into the forging, but his focus was not the same.
IC: Riptide(Revenge)-forest
Impressive, I wonder what else we can do.
IC: Rail - Gym
Rail's head followed his opponent's movements as he spun to meet him, aiming a back-handed swipe towards his face with his weapon.
IC: Mantis
Mantis caught the weapon with a Kama, then attempted to rip it out of Rail's grasp.
IC: Exxan - Gym.
"Okay...." I said apologetically, "...I'll leave the expert to his work."
IC: "I have insight in a few matters, Still, just sadly not in that," Suvak admitted, "My advise would be to try for your own experiences, see what insight they give you. That is why you are here after all."
IC: Rail - Gym
Magnetising the handle of the weapon to the inside of his hand, Rail let the other Rahkshi pull him forward, putting him in a nice position to deliver a thrust from its twin towards his opponent's chest. Judging by the distance between them and the size of the Kamas, blocking his next strike was not going to be so easy.
Ic:
But these same experiences were the source of Still's confusion. It didn't vocalize the fact, however. "Understood."
The rahkshi bowed as it left the office.
IC: Mantis
Mantis, realizing it was no use, released the weapon and darted to strike at Rail's chest.
OOC: Last post of the day. We'll finish tomorrow.
IC: Rail - Gym
Parrying the strike at the base of the Kama as its blade slashed across the shard-armor of his newly-released limb, Rail changed his plan, making a grab for his opponent's antennae so he coud force the other Rahkshi's head down and drive his knee directly into his face.
IC: Fang - Gym
The side panels were completed in a short amount of time, which suited Fang just fine. He had not touched the concentrated poison, but working with the infected metal for this long was wearing on him.
Finally, he held the two pieces to the side of the core and warmed his hand. He tried to resist the fresh waves of nausea that poured over him as he temporarily fused the pieces to be placed in the fire.
IC: Exxan - Gym.
Fang wasn't looking so good. I stepped away from the bellows and tapped his shoulder. "Have you considered taking a break?"
IC: Shark / Cauldron-->Zex' Dorm
The paint had dried, and Shark hid the piece of metal within the some convenient crag in his armor and flew back to Corpus Rahkshi. But not at very high altitude - he could feel ocean spray rising into the air and hitting him, for he was flying close to sea level. He wanted no one to see him.
At last, the school came into view, looming out of the water in front of Shark. He skirted the base of the island, still flying, and approached the window which he knew to be Zex' from earlier experience. All the while he stayed close to the school, such that one looking out a window would have to actually look along the school wall to see him. Activating a silence field, he bashed the window once, twice, three times with his sword, and it shattered soundlessly, the fragments clattering to the ground without the faintest noise.
He entered the room. Zex was still asleep. Neither sound nor sight would awaken him now, no light reached his damaged eyes nor sound his ears, deafened by the silence field.
The deed was so close to completion now. Shark didn't display emotion, but if he did he might be practically bouncing off the walls. He checked to be sure he still had both Zex' knives - he did. But it was not time to use them just yet - there were a few more preparations to be made first. He checked to be sure the door was locked, and it was. Everything was going according to plan.
OOC: Last post of night.
IC: Fang - Gym
"We're almost done. Just need to sharpen the edges."
Fang yanked the sword from the heat and staggered back to the table. The pieces were fused now. He just needed to get to the water to cool it off, then hone the blade with his own plasma, just like Venom. That is, if he could stand up straight for that long.
His vision swam and he felt nauseous. The combination of the poison and extended use of his powers had sapped his energy. His hands were cooling of their own accord, despite his attempts to warm them.
"This will be... a... potent weapon... When we finish... Exxan," he slurred out. "Just need... a little more time."
And with that, his hands fell from the blade as he sank against the table, too dizzy to stand.
IC: Exxan - Gym.
"Karz..." I grabbed his shoulder to steady him, before regarding him sternly. "This is what happens when you don't listen to me." I got up and looked at the unfinished sword. "What more needs to be done?" I asked. "I'll finish it myself, just tell me what to do."
IC: Fang - Gym
Fang grinned wryly as his head lolled around. "It's done, just... sharpen the edges. And... the guard."
IC: Exxan - Gym.
"You're going to have to be a little more specific," I quipped, "sharpen it with what?"
IC: Fang - Gym
Fang shrugged weakly. "I... don't know. I would use plasma, but..." A weak stream of plasma leaked from one hand. "Whatever everyone else uses..."
IC Kat:
I stood, "Here, let me."
I pulled a small whetstone, and some oil from my satchel.
Had to maintain your weapons, after all.
IC: Exxan - Gym.
"Thanks," I said to Kat, getting to work on the blade. The effects of the poison just from touching the blade were almost negligible now.... at least, they were until I scratched my finger on the edge and fell a wave of nausea roll through me. "Urgh...."
