  • IC: Krian"Over here, please."Krian led Reaver to a relatively quiet corner of the house, where no one else could hear them. The De-Toa's back was bent, as he leaned on his cane, the light reflecting dully off his armor, the luster gone from it, as if it had fled with his soul.He looked up at Reaver, his weakness no longer letting him look at her eye to eye. "You have the air of a fighter about you, and the scars to match." It wasn't a question, but a statement.

  • IC:Seeing that Reaver had left, at least for a few minutes, Labelle decided to start telling a story by herself to Pearl."There was once a sweet little Le-Matoran named..." Labelle looked around, trying to find some inspiration. Then she remembered the bottle of Salamander she had had before. Boy, that was good. "umm, Bottlecap. It wasn't his real name you see, it's his codename - it was too dangerous afterwards for anyone to know his real name." Labelle thought that was a pretty good way to start a story. Of course, she was kind of drunk at the time, so her judgment wasn't all that sound.

  • IC: ReaverShe looked at Krayn, confused. 'I may be a fighter, but these scars are from no battle. They are self-inflicted, to feed this.' She showed him her shoulder, her Mark of Agony glowing brightly. 'But please, go on. You cannot intrigue me then leave me hanging like that,' she said, grinning.

Pearl exclaimed, clapping her hands happily, any questions about why they didn't answer her questions about the story all blown away by the story's intro, being just like her new foster father.OOC:Technically not her foster father, but she's working towards it. :P

  • IC: KrianKrian nodded grimly. "That's exactly what I'm talking about."He pointed to the Mark with a quivering finger. "I know what that is, and I know what it does. And I can guess what it feeds on."He pointed at Pearl, who's back was to him. "That little girl is fond of you." His voice took on a hard edge, despit it's air of feebleness. "And it is because if that I give you this warning. If you cause harm to come to a single piece of her armor, you will have to deal with me."In short, Reaver was being threatened by a Toa who had to use a cane to be able to move at all.

  • IC:"If you say so. Since I've never met Mr. Soundblaster, I'll just take your word on it. Anyways, this Bottlecap was a good Toa of Fire, a hero among the people of his Island. But his Island was plagued by Makuta's younger brother-" Labelle paused. She hated coming up with names of things. She decided to use the reverse of Makuta- Atukam. She figured the kid couldn't possibly realize the connection. "-Atukam. Atukam was not nearly as powerful as Makuta, but still very dangerous. So despite Bottlecap's and his older sisters' best efforts, they could not rid their people of the evil spirit named Atukam." Labelle smiled happily. Who was she kidding. She wasn't good at this- she was awesome!ooc: Working towards it?

  • IC:"Ahhh, well, in fact, that is a very good question" Labelle said slowly. "A very good question." She tried to come up with an intelligent answer, but she wasnt quite in the proper state of mind or body to be coming up with anything intelligent. "You see, Atukam was following Makuta's orders, and as we all know, Makuta is quite unfathomable, at least as far as we know at present." Score. Labelle was THE Storyteller. "Anyways, one day Bottlecap's sister came home with a very mysterious box. Inside was a toold that could mean Akutam's defeat, or Bottlecap's death!" Labelle placed extra dramatic emphasis on these last words.

  • IC:"Kid, you've got to have at least a little patience" Labelle said, slightly annoyed. Then she remembered she was talking to kids, and she remembered how that Salamander drink had warmed her up, and returned to her happy, giddy drunk self. "The sister told Bottlecap that a Turaga had given the box to her, telling her that it contained the key to Atukam's defeat, but that only the greatest of heroes could, or should use it. Thinking of no greater Toa than Bottlecap, she decided to give it to him. Trusting his sister completely and the words of a Turaga, Bottlecap quickly opened the box. Inside was a golden orb, shining bright and illuminating the hut the two were in. The sister instructed to put the orb over Bottlecap's heartlight- he did so, and a moment later it melted into his skin, deeper, and then was gone. Unfortunately, this was the beginning of the end for Bottlecap, although he did not know this. And because of his sister's hand in this, it was decided to disgrace her by removing her name from the story, so as not to grant her that type of immortality." Labelle wondered how she was getting all this. Maybe she was just more creative when drunk?

  • IC (Khalisk, Ga-Wahi, Wilderness)Khalisk eyed the small camp he had set up, he’d been here for days and while he felt some small satisfaction with the small lean-to and fire pit, he still couldn’t shake an odd feeling in his chest, one that seemed to supply his mind with seemingly every way this could go wrong. He’d seen some rather disturbing creatures prowling the waters and currently, part of his mind was working overtime imagining them crawling up the shore as he slept. The other part of his mind, the part he found the most agreeable interrupted that string of nightmarish thoughts with an image of his staff. He wasn’t defenseless, not by a long shot. Despite having no memories beyond the last few days, he was still quite skilled with the weapon. He was rather fortunate, he supposed, that whatever event had robbed him of his memory had not affected his skills, otherwise he would probably be in some foul creature’s gullet by now. He’d spent his first night pressed up against a nearby cliff-face, in a state of near panic, his mind was filled with images of machines; ways to operate them, his skillset, beyond his staff had not prepared him for that situation. Eventually, morning had come and he came to a logical conclusion once his mind was not gripped by all-consuming terror. He’d constructed a small shelter out of some large pieces of driftwood and other materials, and he left a fire burning every night to ward off animals. So far at least, he thought he was doing quite well. He’d seen signs of habitation here and there, but having no idea what kind of form those inhabitants would take, he’d decided it would be wiser to merely stay put and not force that particular issue anytime soon.

  • IC: [Twenty-Eight]Having fully recovered from her wounds during the misunderstanding with the more mechanical Toa that had attempted to escape capture from her older sister, Jaliax the Twenty-Eighth had decided to take a walk along the beach, hoping to find something to do. It had been rather boring recently, and clearing her mind seemed to be a good way to relieve boredom. As she continued walking, the Ga-Matoran spotted what seemed to be a camp nearby. She remembered that there had been some sort of Toa that had lived in a nearby camp, but the last she heard was that he had gone off on an adventure with the money-lender and Ga-Koro's resident insane fisherman. If he had returned, then she doubted that he would have come back to the beach again, and the camp was in a different area anyway."Who would live in such an isolated place?" she wondered, heading in the general direction of the camp. "Time to see who then."

  • IC (Khalisk)The inhabitants of this land would eventually find him, it was utterly inevitable. Khalisk did not know how they would react to him, perhaps, if he was lucky they would know who he was, beyond the name and his skills, he didn’t quite know the answer to that himself. But he suspected he would have no such luck. This land was filled with creatures, dangerous one’s, it was a fair bet that any civilization that thrived here might well be more dangerous than the creatures. He was operating from incomplete data however, which left a lot of room for error; he’d need to consider this more carefully. He heaved himself up from his place by the fire pit and headed towards the cliff face, pausing only to grab a nearby sharpened rock. Then he began to pound out an equation on the cliff face, he found such activities helped him organize his thoughts.“Hm. If X is the number of creatures observed so far, and Y is the number of dangerous creatures…no, that wouldn’t work, I need more data.” He muttered to himself. His back to the world.

  • IC (Khalisk)Pulling himself away from the cliff face, Khalisk grabbed his staff and eyed the top of the cliff. It was as good a place to observe the land as any. He didn’t know how far he could see from the top of it, but there was a better chance of acquiring more data with a better vantage point. Using his staff as support, as he usually did whenever he planned to wonder from his camp, he began to walk away from his camp. The wound upon his back was mostly healed, but it still pained him, he suspected internal damage and his knowledge in that field, though limited in comparison to his skill in others, told him it was probably a permanent disability, much like his near-blindness in his right eye. If he still had his memories, he suspected his wounds would have caused more panic. But as it stood, since they were there the second he woke up, he’d adjusted to them quickly. He’d had no other standard by which to judge “normal” and if he was careful, it wasn’t likely the wounds would prove life-threatening.

  • IC (Khalisk)Khalisk froze, in the distance he had spotted movement, it wasn’t the quick movement he’d come to associate with the creatures of the land, but slow and deliberate. Intelligent in other words, it appeared that the inhabitants of this land had found him at last. His retained skills evidently did not include social interaction, as he was utterly at a loss. He wasn’t certain how he supposed to react to this.Unbidden, two feelings rose to the forefront, joy, which was still a bit alien to him, he didn’t understand why this event should cause him joy. He supposed he would need access to his memories for the proper context, but that wasn’t possible. The second was one he found more logical, that same anxious feeling that had fed him nightmares mere minutes ago. He elected to allow the native the first move, he needed context here more then anything.

He was having little luck, so he decided on another question. “I am forced to wonder, what is the name of this place? I am not familiar with it….is there any large civilization? Or just the odd village?” He suspected asking so many questions was bad social decorum, but he didn’t particularly care about such things.

  • IC:"Well, not exactly kid. You'll see what I'm talking about later." And so would Labelle, when she came up with the rest of the story. The truth was that it was getting pretty hard to keep on making up a story, and she hoped another adult would come by and help her entertain the kids. "That night, when the sister and Bottlecap went to sleep, something amazing happened. Bottlecap closed his eyes, and a moment later he was standing by his bed. He didnt understand, and when he looked, he found an exact copy of himself sleeping where he had just been! It didnt take him long to realize what had happened. His Spirit had 'walked'. Now before you ask me what that means, let me tell you." Labelle felt proud that she had managed outwit the child. "What I mean by 'walk' is that his Spirit, which was given a body, mostly like ours, could now interact proper with our world. Not just make some noises or levitate a chair like some measly ghost, a Spirit which has faded. Needless to say his mind was in this Spirit-body, not his real body. So kinda like astal projection, but cooler. Anyways, Bottlecap also found he had some strange armor on in this Spirit form, but thought little of it. He rushed out then, in the middle of the night, to fight some Rahi controlled by Atukam to test out this new form. Neary got himself killed by a Frost Leech, he did. Thought he could use his fire abilities, or maybe his Calix - he was wrong. Couldn't use either of them. So, caught in quite the Madu fruit, he had to fight with the sword that came with the strange armor, and boy did he fight. Fought nearly till dawn, and like never before, and he still barely made it out alive. Wounds all over his body, bloody and bruised, he made his way back to his hut. And there was his body, still asleep. But with all the same wounds that he'd gotten as a Spirit! He was angry, ready to scream at his sister, the Turaga, the villagers, anyone. But being a noble Toa, he did not. He composed himself, closed his eyes and sighed. And suddenly he was back in his body, the Spirit form vanished from sight. He decided he would speak to his sister and the village's Turaga about the so-called gift- as soon as he took care of his wounds." Labelle herself sighed. Even drunk, she could understand why people disliked kids. Took so much to please them.
