  • IC: Toxin's Kraata/On the ceiling of Phantom's arena thing, Making his move.

This was it, I thought, as I made my way to the area above him.

I immediately opened my mouth, and drops of my slime that I licked off my slime trail earlier began to rain on this evil whatever-it-is.

  • IC: Sontiri / The Arena

As Sontiri enters the cavern one of their brothers hurtles towards them. Their first thought, to catch him, leaves as they recognize him as the rubbery Caoutchouc. He will bounce. They knock him aside, albeit gently, and continue their advance towards Phantom.

The chains around their wrists beg to be unleashed against the monstrosity, but it has embedded Kat's arm within itself. Concern that a physical attack may harm their friend forces Sontiri to turn to a different weapon: sound. Once more their spines quake,  unleashing a burst of tightly focused sound upon the beast's head. Their aim is unfettered by his invisibility, for Sontiri can see as well with the song of their wings as the light in their eyes.

A part of them is uneasy to do harm, but the whole knows and tells it that this is the enemy. For Kat's sake, and Caoutchouc's, and that of the other Rahkshi within the cave, Sontiri must not relent. Lives are at stake.

Vaalku wandered the dorms, taking a moment now and then to rest. Where in the Karz was Fang? and Exxan? had he missed them somewhere? neither one of them could have stayed together long. Exxan was so nitpicky and selfish, fang was always irritable and snappy. Too many cooks spoil the... The... Slop. Yeah, nobody served soup here.

  • Short / Gym, Sparring with Shark IC:

Short saw Shark lift his sword with the pommel facing toward her. She assumed he was going to muscle through her mace blows and give her a good bash to try to knock her off. As she was about to release her choke-hold to move from his neck to a different position, the pommel launched and hit her square in the face. Having already loosened the grip her legs had on her opponent, Short was sent flying easily a dozen bio.

Metal / Library, Talking to Vlad and Drift IC:

"Awesome! Thanks, you guys will be a great help. Maybe we can pick up another Rahk or two on the way out. Let's go!" As he said this, Metal turned to go out the door and for the Courtyard. This is the moment where I realize I have to set up a stage with nothing . . . . Great. Probably should have that about that before leaving Suvak's Office. Improv it is.

OOC: Metal technically open for interaction, if that interaction would be helping him set up the Courtyard for the talent show. =3

  • IC - Flying

It wasn't everyday that a brutish something almost smashed (almost? they are smashed!) your spines and threw you at another... Thing. Thankfully, your exposure to the first and previous thing in the gym had prevented your mind from breaking again. Though it did shock you enough to send you into second person narration. The intimate writing and emotional discourse of first or third person beyond your brain for the time being.

You had managed to keep a hold on Faithful during the flight, you took it and aimed now, throwing it boomerang-like through the air, aiming to hit the ghost square in the back. Well, you hoped you'd hit him or whatever else Kat's arm was stuck in.

He only staggered back a few steps. His rest in the Infirmary had done much for his energy.

This was getting ridiculous. Exxan did not know when to back down. His chances were ruined, there was no saving him this time. He and his precious skin would have to stay to face the consequences.

Fang's fists flared with plasma as he seethed. "I don't care about leaving! No one in this school seems to understand that. When I leave, it will be only by Tridax's personal consent! He will have no other options!"

He was done with Exxan's games. If he made any sudden moves, or tried breaking him with words any longer, he would act. Exxan was getting out of his way one way or another.

  • IC: Kat's blow struck true but her sword ran into the same trouble her fist had. There was just so much stuff underneath Phantom's armour that it was acting as a buff against piercing anything vital. Cao's Faithful had more success, its compulsion to return to its owners hand stronger than simple meat. Its shaved a few slivers off Phantom's broad back before spinning round to head back to Cao's hands. And meanwhile Kat was still in the Hunter's crushing grip, stuck having her arm pulverised and sharing in the poison being dripped slowly down from above from Toxin.

It was Sontiri's attack that made him take notice though. The blast of sonics clearly did something to his sense of balance, as for a moment he stumbled, his every muscle tensing up to stop him toppling over. Which was bad news for Kat, as that included the hand holding her arm. With a sudden flare of pain she was relinquished from the Hunter's clutches, her arm snapped off at the elbow.

Before she could rally, try to make another stab, Phantom leapt up into the air, heading for the stalactites on the ceiling. Oh great, he could fly now? What else could he do?

The Hunter started kicking the stone spikes on the cave's ceiling, sending the needles of rock flying at Sontiri. He'd clearly judged it the greater threat and was trying to take it out. Using stone ensured that even if the incoming needles were smashed there would still be debris and rubble flying towards the creature. One dart would be turned into a mass of grapeshot. And in the close quarters of the cave, with little room for such a large creature to manoeuvre, that would arguably be the worse option

  • IC: Sontiri (Era) - Cavern.

The parts of us that are Era and Hoto cry out in horror and despair as Kat is brutally separated from her lower arm. We run to her side, spreading our thick, leathery wings to shield ourselves and her from the hail of flying rock. The spiked stones tear into our flesh, piercing deep, but we rip them free and let our Quick Healing abilities gradually repair the damage. We can't afford to waste too much of our power on the defense....

We have to take the fight to the enemy.

We kick off the ground, spreading our damaged wings and flapping upwards, letting Hoto's Dodge abilities help us evade the worst of our foe's impromptu projectiles. We spin in midair - building up momentum - and lash out with our wrist chains, channeling ripples of sonic energy from them as we do.

The razor-bladed chains tear through the rock, shaking it apart as we try to dislodge the monster attacking us....

  • IC: Shark / Gym

Shark was greatly relieved that the pommel had been effective; this was his first time using it in combat and it worked beautifully. And now he was free of that tiny terror known as Short... well, for a few seconds. There was little doubt that she would attack once more, but now Shark knew what her power was. Unfortunately his left arm was still quite damaged, severely reducing the effectiveness with which he could wield his sword. Ah well.

All this musing had taken virtually no time, so his dash toward Short began almost as soon as she landed, and ended as soon as she was within sword's reach - best stay as far back as possible. Hopefully she was still recovering and would have difficulty dodging, for as he ran he brought his sword up, over his head, and with his approach brought it down with great speed (fueled by gravity as well as his own hand) upon the tiny Rahkshi, aiming to split her in two.

  • IC: Fang - Hallways

Fang stood ever Exxan, seething with rage, but he did not make any moves towards him.

"Go," he hissed. "And if you ever dare to return to me... I'll... I'll..."

He couldn't say it, and he hated himself for it. Exxan had been a thorn in his side for so long, yet he never intended to kill. He just needed space, and Exxan seemed unwilling to spare him even that.

"...Do you know why I'm not striking you down, right here and now?"

    "No."

"Because, you'd be quite well off dead. It would be nice and peaceful. If I killed you, it wouldn't hurt you. It would only hurt the people you care about, people like Kat. You say I'm a tyrant, right? Full of pride and wrath? Look at yourself. Pride. Wrath. Greed and more I care not to list. Your reckless nature isn't just reckless, it's selfish..."

He would be justified in killing Exxan in the same way Exxan was when he killed Omega. He had commanded Exxan to leave him alone, only to be met with continued refusal. He would not obtain peace until Exxan could no longer disturb him.

But Caoutchouc was right about all of it. It would cause more harm to him than to Exxan. And it would only be a testiment to his own selfishness and pride.

He did not remove obstacles, not like this.

His armor flared with heat and fury and confusion. "GO!!" he shouted again. He was unsure if it was only to get Exxan to leave, or to protect both of them.

IC: Sontiri (Hoto) - Nynran Cave

Her focus was shattered as she could only watch as Kat's arm buckled and snapped in the monster's grip. It was her fault. They can't attack it while Kat was near.

As the rock began to fall, she pushed them forward, pouring every bit of her will into protecting Kat. She resisted the urge to dodge as the stones tore through Sontiri's tender, beautiful wings. Physical pain, she could bear. It was how she had been forced to learn. But she could not watch as her friends suffered. Her mind stretched over the other two, desperately trying to shield them from it. Jayar healed the injuries nearly as fast as they could come, but it wasn't enough. Sontiri couldn't hold together under the onslaught. She could already feel herself slipping away as pain threatened to overcome her.

But Era had another idea. Rage poured from her into their shared mind, bringing with it the threat of death. And she would do it too. Hoto could feel that from the tiniest corner of a memory slipping from where Era had kept it hidden. It would not be her first time.

No! she sobbed desperately in their mind. We can't kill it! Please, Era! Please! We can't!

Her will slipped into Sontiri's long arms, tipped with their brutal chains, and pulled. She wasn't strong enough to stop the blow, but she turned what might have been lethal into just a stun.

She would fight to protect Kat. But Sontiri will not kill. They would fall apart before she would let that happen.

Owowowowow . . . . That was unexpected. Is anything broke - yep, that's my jaw. Arm's still hurtin' too. While collecting her thoughts, Short groggily attempted to keep her eyes open and on her opponent. Still, despite the damage she had racked up on him, he was giant and able to move quite well. With a grunt she rolled to her right, over her mace, and used her slight momentum to pull said weapon up towards the sword in case Shark changed the direction of his attack.

Metal / Courtyard, Setting up the Talent Show with Vlad and Drift IC:

Metal stood at the door from which he had come and took in the Courtyard. It was a great space for performance if some things were moved around, but the problem of not having a main platform remained. Keep his charismatic (note: still horrid) grin, Metal turned to his companions and asked, "Would either of you happen to have a power which can create or shape things easily? It's not necessary, but would be beneficial for more easily constructing the stage."

Vorzorak couldn't take his mind off what that rahkshi said in the infirmary

Does this mean we're merely experiments? We have no purpose? We have no variable in that, that depends on us?

Vorzorak was hitting dummies with his staff, not with much power though... He was too deep in though to apply too much force.

I've read about squadrons of rahkshi, working as a team, but those are the ones who aren't as smart as us, but imagine, if we, the more intelligent, did that, they are difficult to destroy, but we, would be impossible to destroy! Now if only I could convince the rest of that, but by the third word I say 20 more rahkshi would be dead, and dozens more injured. This school is dangerous, not because of the area, not because of the fohrok, well a bit because of the fohrok, but its because the students strength, the students intelligence, the students....

Vorzorak had made a breakthrough, but he had to convince others, one at a time, of his ideas, but he couldn't, because they would be trying to rip his arm off halfway through what he is trying to say.

    If only...

He had finally finished the engraving on he custom knife, and he tried out his special gimmick

He flipped a switch, that moved a small gear, which flipped out the knife blade, he flipped the switch the other way, and it went back in.

"YES!" He exclaimed, loud enough that the people in Voya Nui could hear "This is my greatest Creation ever! and will be so for a long long long time!"

He hoped he didn't make people dislike him after that outburst

"Well, who cares if people hate me, I gots me a new knife! And I'm proud of it!"

With only one arm, there was no way Shark would be able to act against the sword's momentum and alter its course, so it crashed into the ground beside Short. Instead of bringing it up and down again, which would surely lead to a repetitive rolling-out-of-the-way sequence, he brought it sideways, tip just above the ground, blade facing Short.

    IC: Vlad / Courtyard

"Unt I am of Hunger," explained Vlad. "Unfortunately." He could not help but recall the many times he had leapt upon other students, trying to drain them of their energy... But no longer. He was reformed. Definitely, completely reformed.

Short / Gym, Sparring with Shark IC:

Short blocked the sword with her mace, stood, and hovered back. She was now performing the physical equivalent of sprinting after having taken a sprint previously and then holding onto her opponent for dear life, all the while having her left arm cut deeply and her jaw broken. Needless to say she was winded, in pain, and getting tired. She still had a lot of fight left in her though, evident by the fact that the Slowerahk zipped around Shark's left side, trying to find an opening on Shark's bad side. If he didn't block her, she would aim to knock out his left knee from behind with a blow from her mace.

  • IC: Vorzorak-Gym--->Hallway---> Dorm--->Refectory

Vorzorak sat to the side, watching People Spar, and Decided

I need A sword, A staff and a bow can't be a permanent Fighting Style

Vorzorak Walked out of the gym, and towards his dorm, where he set down his Staff, and Headed towards the Refectory, After what he was told that thing by that Rahkshi, about them all being merely an experiment, Something inside him changed

Well if were all just an experiment, might as well change my conditions

He Became more Social, less shy, Stronger, Knowledge is power, and Power is power

But for now, he needed to ask around for a smith. He needed a sword, and a Scabbard.

What would he do when he got the sword, name it, why, is unknown

I'll Name it... Not Gladius, Not Sharpie, Not Mr. Blade, well, maybe Gladius...

And with that, He set out for a blade, He'll name it Klinge.

I'll Find a Smith by asking Rahkshi in the Refectory, If Anyones still alive after eating All that Dirt.

  • IC: Shark / Gym

Shark, too, was facing pain, in his head and his likely broken arm, but he wasn't going to let it show. Today was not the day he would be beaten by a Rahk who was practically two feet tall.

Short had dodged out of the way, and seeing her approach, mace in hand, came to the logical conclusion that she was going to use it to attack. This was the time to attempt to disarm her. Although, of course, his left arm was mostly useless in that.

So, as she rushed forth, he brought his sword back up, and sheathed it in the scabbard upon his back. Simultaneously he pivoted his upper body counterclockwise, kneeling down on his left knee as Short brought her mace at it. This maneuver earned him a split second before it impacted him in which to stretch his right hand up from above his head, where it had sheathed his sword, and grab onto the stickish part of the mace, just below its head. The maneuver also strained his left leg and back somewhat from the contortion, unfortunately, but it was probably better than the alternative.

Then, the fun part. Like a coiled spring suddenly released, his contorted body unwound as he wrenched his arm back around, still holding the mace, and stood from his kneeling position, now spinning clockwise, mace still in hand. The huge Silence Rahkshi would easily be able to lift Short off the ground with the weapon and spin her around as well, should she choose to hold on to it. Otherwise she'd have lost her mace, and he'd fling it away. Shark was hoping for the first, however - otherwise, she'd be capable of simply grabbing on to his left leg.

OOC: This seems like a bit much to do all in one post, but as most of it is pretty much a fluid motion which happens quickly (but requiring lengthy description) I believe it is okay. I hope grabbing the mace is not an autohit, as well, since it is coming right for him.

"Fine," I shrugged, stepping back away from him, "suit yourself. Keep running, Fang. Keep hiding from your problems and hoping they'll go away. That's all you seem to be good at."

  • IC: Deadeye

"Because Vaalku, is a ###### freak himself. HAHAHAHA LOOK AT HIM! Look at his stub for an arm. HAHAHA!" That wasn't the real reason, and if Booger had known he was Deadeye, he would know exactly what the real reason was.
