IC: Deadeye
Deadeye said nothing, the fear of medication keeping him quiet.
IC: The two forces pulling on Phantom, Sontiri's yanking and Kat's weight, dragged him downwards, his reactions paralysed by the fear Kat was pouring into him. At this point physics took over, the three swinging around like a grotesque Newton's Cradle. With her own flight off and Phantom no longer holding her up Kat started to fall, her twisting path of descent sending her circling round. She was heading right for Sontiri, and would hit before Phantom did. She'd just become Phantom's airbag...
* * * * * * * * *
In the skies over Nynrah, Tridax was held aloft in the sky by a magnetic field around him. He was steadily scanning Phantom-on-the-Water for Rahkshi minds, his will extending out to quest for his lost and troublesome students
IC Kat: My plan was to swerve out of the way, as this Kaita appeared to be helping us, but I'd rather not push my luck....
IC: Xara - Dorm.
"Aw, thanks," I wrapped my arms around him, "But.... why? I thought you were still angry with me."
________________________________________________________________
IC: Illusive - Nynrah.
Hovering in the air beside Tridax, I waited. Finally.... war.
________________________________________________________________
IC: Sontiri (Era).
We see Kat and Phantom falling towards us and swing out, buffeting Kat with one of her wings and sending her spinning away from us. Unless she managed to right herself before hitting the ground she was in for a painful landing, but it was better than her being crushed between us and the creature.
But saving Kat ruined any chance we had of avoiding the monster. It fell towards us, and we braced ourself for the inevitable impact, pointing our jagged spines - crackling with powerful sonic energy - up towards him.
Please let this work...
IC Kat: Until that happened.
I was send sprawling, landing not so nicely on my injured shoulder, and skidding across the dirt floor, before managing to flip meyself back over, and onto my feet, sliding to a stop.
I breathed deeply. I was losing fluids fast from my suit. The injured arm had already locked up to prevent further injury. Looked as though the seals had been torn off, no way to stop the fluid leaking.
I grimaced, and turned to look back at the fight, hoping this would be over soon.
Metal / Courtyard, Setting up the Talent Show with Vlad, Drift, and Sanurahk IC:
Metal nailed a cross-support beam into the completed corner and the beam currently on the ground, making a triangle. He the built three more of these triangles alternating direction along the short edge of the stage. He then forced the second corner to line up correctly, making an unnerving cracking noise emanate someone from the structure. Even with that, though, it looked half decent.
Nodding in acknowledgement to Sanu, Metal continued to Vlad, "Can you dance? Sing? Play an instrument? Can your bat - Ivan? - do tricks? Balance things on your face-plate?"
IC: Vlad / Courtyard
"No, no, no, maybe, and..." Hmm. Balance things on your faceplate? Might be worth a try. Vlad picked up a small board and tried to set it down, balanced, upon his head.
Unfortunately it fell off almost immediately. Vlad fumbled in the air, trying to catch it, and ended up knocking away. Now, nine out of ten times if he tried to throw it at Metal's foot he would have missed, but somehow he was extraordinarily accurate in dropping it. The block landed heavily upon the powerahk's foot. "...unt no." continued Vlad sheepishly. "Sorry."
IC: Ivan / Courtyard
Ivan chuckled (or, you know, performed a bat equivalent) at his companion's antics and flew over to the pile of stuff, picked up a small block, and managed to place it, balanced, upon his own head, and, despite the bobbing motion associated with flight, managed to keep it there as he hovered in front of Metal. He gave a squeak, Icebatish for "Hey, I can balance stuff on my head!"
Metal / Courtyard, Setting up the Talent Show with Vlad, Drift, and Sanurahk IC:
Metal let out a string of language (half made-up, half real) that would make Karzahni himself blush. In addition, the words may have been laced with accidentally unleashed power screaming, thus causing hiss companions to suddenly get notable headaches. After bouncing on one foot for a minute, the Powerahk grimaced at Vlad and said, "That's . . . okay. Just, ow, don't do that. Ever again. Please. Ow." He smiled (even worse than usual considering the pain) at Ivan, more likely looking like he wanted to eat the poor ice bat.
Sitting down and massaging his foot, Metal said, "You guys keep building, I've gotta sit down for a minute. Ow."
IC: Whakatio
"He's still not back. We need to go find him, and my weapons." Whak said, still wrestling with the suit refusing to follow her nerves.
IC: Sanu- Courtyard
"So you have a Headache inducing power, and a horrifying grin, alright..." Said Sanurahk, as he Hammered in more nails, "ow ow ow ow," Said Sanu as his head hurt more every time he hit the nail, "Ok, less headaches" He softened the metal with his metal working kits Heatstone welding tool, and slid the nail right through, then let it cool again, and repeated with the rest of the nails
IC Poly:
We returned to Sister Whakatio, and Brother Tube, strapping the launchers back on to Whakatio.
"Worry not, Sister. In a weeks time, you shall have your self back. But to truly get perspective, one must live in the shoes of another."
Metal / Courtyard, Setting up the Talent Show with Vlad, Drift, and Sanurahk IC:
Metal massaged his foot with a wince. "Duly noted. I swear I didn't mean to do that, I just get loud when I'm angry. Also, what's so horrifying about my smile? I'm the friendliest Karz-bound son of a Makuta you'll ever meet."
He slowly stood and ambled back over to the construction, eyeing Vlad with a mixture of mild annoyance and understanding.
IC: Fang - Hallways to Causeway
No one seemed to want to bother him, and that suited him just fine. He wasn't in the mood for discussion now, not after Exxan.
He made his way silently up to his Dorm room to deposit the weapons and scrap metal. There wasn't much room to place something as valuable as this, but for now, they would rest on his bed. He didn't seem to have much use for it anyway. He seemed to be using the beds in the Infirmary more often.
The staff and axes were very familiar. They were the weapons Omega had always carried. The launcher, however, was new. He had only recognized it from... that day. The scene was firmly embedded in his mind. It had lain near Omega, the shots it carried since used. The workmanship was rough and quick, a small patch job between two smaller launchers and what appeared to be another axe. The craftsmanship was fine, far beyond the usual tools wielded by Rahkshi. His confusion was answered by the Matoran engraving intertwined with the other fiery markings. Forge-Biter. A weapon of Nynran-make from the second assignment. That explained the tiny, hardened grip.
With a careful hand, he separated the axe from the other components to give it a few test swings. The weapon was not his style, but those Nynran weapons always had some special attribute that could be useful. As it turned out, this one began glowing with heat after he bashed it against a wall. The markings glowed white all the way down to the grip, which stayed surprisingly cool. The heat would be a problem for those not used to working with plasma. No wonder Omega welded it to the launchers. But he already had Venom and his plasma for the same purpose. He didn't need this axe as well.
He set Forge-Biter on the bed again after it had cooled and picked up his own blade. Some great burden seemed to fall from him as the door locked behind him. No one would dare enter his room. And if he found that they had...
He shook the thought from his mind. If he couldn't even kill Exxan, he couldn't do much to someone who's only crime was to enter his room and steal a few materials. They would regret it, in some manner. He was sure of that.
Now, he didn't know what to do with himself. The one place he should be was the place he couldn't go. He needed to be by Kat's side, but he knew he was only risking his own life by going to Nynrah alone at a time like this. Before he even knew it, he was standing at the edge of the Causeway. The island sat in the distance, quietly smoking for now. He would not move until Kat was by his side.
IC: Rain - Infirmary
Rain sighed as she watched more badly-injured Rahkshi wander in. One was even missing a few limbs. Compared to that, her silly broken spines were nothing, though they still hurt like Karz. It was going to be a while before Palma got to her, and until then, she was stuck with Scribbler and Crazy, unable to do anything to them.
IC: Tube - Causeway
"B-but, you can't move!" Tube pointed out. "I... I'm not going to leave you here!"
Fortunately, that wasn't necessary. Legion walked out of the school and found himself met by Tube almost immediately. "This isn't nice," he stated. "She needs her old armor. I liked it better."
ICPoly:
"We shall return her to her former suit in a weeks time. Knowing the life of another shall give her context." We spoke evenly, kindly. "In fact, after our Sister has been returned to her armor, I shall undergo the same trial. I will need your help when that time comes, dear Brother."
IC: Tube - Causeway
"But... she can't move! It doesn't work!" Tube countered.
IC: Whakatio
A week!? Whakatio tried her best not to hyperventilate. This suit was horrible, she didn't like it at all. She could still smell the stench of dead kraata in the suit. She could only form a response "O-o-ok." Her voice quavering.
IC: Melody-Library->Causeway.
Melody sighed as Cuutuk left. She decided to go back to her cave. As she walked out to the causeway she saw several Rahkshi in a group, one of them seemed to be parylized.
IC: Bullseye/Library ---> Dorm ---> Courtyard
I was done reading and decided to go and get my keyboard from my dorm and head out to the forest to practice. As I picked it up, I wondered if Metal had gotten it approved. But I passed by the courtyard earlier and saw him building something. Perhaps he did. I decided to check it out.
IC: Alpha/Gym ---> Causeway
I wondered what Fang was up too when I saw him leave, storming off like that. Did Exxan do something to him? Kinda expected that since I heard that they didn't like one another. I followed him out and eventually found him at the Causeway. But I stopped before I approached him. After Exxan ###### me off, I began to wonder if Exxan created doubt in everyone else...but...I felt that I had to help him, he was my brother's friend after all.
"Are you...okay?"
IC: Whakatio
When Whak saw the Rahkshi, she desperately tried to warn her not to approach. "N-no! Don't!"
IC Poly:
We considered their words, and thought perhaps this plan was too hasty to enact for them now.
"Perhaps you are correct. Please, take Whakatio to her old self."
We gave Tube our key.
"Room 254," we spoke.
We looked on at the suit Whakatio currently inhabited. We would have to go first to gain their trust.
"Once she is whole again, please return here. I will take the burden of the Enlightening first."
IC: Drift - Courtyard
I looked at Vlad, contemplating for a second.
"Hey, with that big cape... maybe you could be zer magician?"
IC: Sanu-Courtyard
Sanurahk Placed in a finishing screw for one Half of the stage
"Finally! We're halfway done, and I'm hungry, what do you say about a quick trip to the refectory to fill up guys?" Asked Sanurahk.
IC: Vlad / Courtyard
Vlad was only slightly hungry... and the mention of Refectory food only decreased his appetite. "No, I vill pass on zer slop for now," he declared, contemplating Drift's suggestion. Hey, might be worth a try, right?
Well, maybe not, given what happened last time he thought that. "I suppose I could try, but I vould probably not make a very good magician either," he said.
IC: Sanu-Courtyard-Refectory
"Okay, I'm gonna go for a little bit to get some food." and so he left for food.
IC: Drift - Courtyard
"C'mon, it couldn't be that hard. We'll help you."
IC: Vlad / Courtyard
"Hmm." It was appealing. Perhaps if he demonstrated prowess at something like magic, people would hate him less.
...then again, there was that pesky 'prowess' aspect which he was severely lacking. "I don't know. I vould like to, but I'm not sure I haf zer coordination zat vould be reqvuired." He looked apologetically towards Metal's foot. "I suppose ve could give it a try. Just... just vhat vould a magcian do, anyvays?"
IC: Tube - Causeway
Tube was about to go on another rant about how mean and unfair it was, but then... "I... I'm correct?" Tube wondered. It wasn't very often someone said those words. Maybe they should do this "thinking" thing more often.
As soon as it sank in, Tube's faceplate nearly split with his grin. "Oh, thank you, Legion! I-I'll put her back right away!" They ran to Whak's side and once more tried to get the suit open. When the back finally popped, sending Tube sprawling again, they carefully lifted Whak's Kraata out and ran off towards the school. They almost didn't hear Legion's departing words. Something about "returning" and "Enlightenment," whatever that meant.
IC: Fang - Causeway
He heard footsteps behind him, but his eyes were fixed on Nynrah. He didn't care if it was Exxan or Tridax. Just let them try to hurt him.
But it was only Alpha. "I'm fine!" he growled, but he caught himself, and his voice took on a softer tone. "...maybe. I don't know anymore."
IC: Alpha/Gym ---> Causeway
I stepped back a bit, taken aback by his former demeanor. He was definitely disturbed. I walked up next to him. He seemed to be looking out there for someone.
"...Are you worried about Kat? I'm sure she's okay."
I then turned to him.
"...By the way...do you...doubt me at all? You know....about me and Omega?"
IC: Fang - Causeway
He nodded at her first question. "Yeah," he admitted. "She's tough, but... there's a lot of Matoran over there. I... I wish I could have gone along with her."
Her second question caused him to pause. "I... don't know. It... made sense at first. No one else was in the Infirmary with us when you arrived. I saw you lean over his body, and... that paper. What is it, anyway?"
IC: Whakatio
Whakatio began to breathe normally. "Thanks Tube, let's go get my suit back."
IC: Sanu-Refectory-Courtyard
Sanu finished his slop, and headed back to the courtyard to work on the project, whilst walking there, he was practicing the flute. he had arrived, still playing the flute.
IC: Alpha/Causeway
"It was..."
I looked in my Kraata case.
"...this."
I gave him the pictures. The first one was him in his armor, a drawing made by the Makuta so that I can recognized him. The second was the both of us in our Kraata batch. The third one was.....a crude drawing that I made of me and Omega. Childish as it may be, it was still meaningful to have that.
"...It's a long story."
IC: Tube - Hallways
Tube bolted through the halls at their top Rahkshi of Slow speed. Which, admittedly, wasn't all that great. They only nodded down to Whak, breathing too hard with the exertion to answer her.
They knew where the dorms were well enough, but as they ran up to the first door and tried to jam the key in, they found it wouldn't open. They squinted at the numbers. Was that a "2" or a 4? Maybe it was a "1"? This had to be right! It was for Whak!
"Why won't it open, Whak?" they gasped. "We need to get your suit!"
IC: Fang - Causeway
He carefully took the pictures after making sure his hands were cool. It wouldn't do to singe what might be some of Alpha's most prized possessions. He recognized the drawing of Omega, though it failed to capture more than his rough appearance. The image was a group of Kraata of Magnetism. He could only assume Omega and Alpha were in there. If she was telling the truth. He gave a small grin at the last one, though it was not in mockery. Alpha had really tried to show them together. The thought was there, if the execution was not perfect.
He held them out again for her to take. He had seen enough. "Where did you get these?" he asked. "Besides... the last one, that is."
IC: Alpha/Causeway
"I was given them by Chirox. Before he allowed me to leave."
I proceeded to tell him my backstory and how I was apparently forced to be separated from Omega.
"I was...taken from my batch by Chirox. He was kinda mad about how Tridax didn't want to share most of his findings regarded how improved we were. The Makuta who created us wasn't happy. He thought we should be sent together, but Chirox would apparently hear none of that."
I slammed my halberd on that last word, as I was still a little bitter about that. Then I continued.
"I was put under a training regime for a long time...training me to kill and all that. Of course, when I heard that my twin brother had died, I tried to get Chirox to let me go. He wanted to keep me at first but Tridax forced him to relent one day. Before I left...that's when he gave them to me."
IC: Whakatio
"That's not 254..." Whak giggled a little. "Come on, I'll show you."
IC: Drift - Courtyard
"Weird things, I guess. Tricks that other Rahkshi can't - or things they believe they can't. If it's something they haven't seen before - something new, exciting - they'll fall for it." I grunted, putting the final perimeter brick in place.
IC: Fang - Causeway
He looked back over Nynrah. "I'm... sorry..." he murmured. "You shouldn't have had to go through that... and... I believe you."
The whole story was convoluted and nonsensical, but he had enough experience to know that life was like that sometimes. It would do more harm that good to deny it anyway.
IC: Tube - Dorms
Tube shrugged and gently set her on the ground. Even just as a Kraata, they had to jog to keep up with her.
Metal / Courtyard, Setting up the Talent Show with Vlad, Drift, and Sanurahk IC:
"Could you grab me a tray while you're there?" Metal called after Sanurahk before turning back to the project. As an aside to Vlad he said, "Make things disappear and reappear? Make yourself disappear and reappear? I don't know much about magic tricks, just music."
IC: Whakatio
Whak wriggled along to 254, and nudged the door with the front of her kraata, gesturing to Tube to open it.
IC: Alpha/Causeway
I looked back to the island.
"You don't really believe that, don't you. Either way, I'm looking to get a change of color...I guess for my sake."
It was evident that I didn't believe myself anymore. Otherwise I wouldn't have asked Palma to find out the truth for me. But would the Makuta really lie to me?
IC: Tube - Dorms
They stopped at a door that looked... exactly like any other one. Why didn't the first one work? Tube squinted at the numbers again. They couldn't quite remember what the other ones had looked like, but these didn't seem any different. They just shook their head and tried to put the key in. Maybe they never would find the right door, and Whak would have to be without a working suit forever...
But to Tube's great surprise, the key slid in! It wasn't exactly easily after trying to jam it into the other door, but the door unlocked, and Tube pushed it open to reveal...
"Your suit!" they shouted with glee. "Come on, I'll help you into it!"
Tube began yanking on the spines again, this time a little gentler. They couldn't risk breaking Whak's proper suit.
IC: Fang - Causeway
He suddenly turned back to face her. "But I do believe it!" he shouted. "At least... I believe that you believe it. I don't know the 'why', and I probably will never find out the 'why,' but I believe what you have told me. Exxan just... doesn't understand. It hurts him too much to see the reminders of his guilt and cowardice. You should not change for him. If he dares approach you again, I will be there."
OOC: Its been a while, he just grabbed a quick meal and came back, it was 5:20pm(Eastern) when he left, and 6:30pm(Again, Eastern) when he came back, so that was sufficient time for a meal.
IC: Sanu-Courtyard
"Well, I don't know what to do, perhaps you can find a guide to an instrument in the Library, Find something other than Magic? some sort of display of Something." Said Sanu
IC: Alpha/Causeway
I smiled.
"Thanks. Mind if I wait for Kat with you? If they do return with everyone, there's a high chance that they'll be hurt and will need the infirmary."
