IC: Zekev - [Outside Gates]
Two others crack the earth below the Lesterin and charge at her. Oh look canister flying to my bea-
Boom.
I reeled, the explosion blinding me. I tried to look around but can't see a thing. It's all a bright white blur. Well, the whole place is a white blur but you know...
. I try to push myself up and blindly hold my weapons in front of me. My eyes start to regain their vision, but not quickly enough. Hopefully the others take out the rider quickly.
IC: Arabeth - [inside the Citadel]
The Toa of Lightning, invisible to all, quickly took stock of the situation. The Skakdi Sniper was slowly but efficiently picking the snipers off one by one. Not good.
Arabeth quickly charged up to him before using her momentum to jump and whirl her body and come down on Rorg with both scimitars swinging. Her scimitars were charged with electricity, however, giving away her weapons' position.
IC: Jalkron pushed the door to the hospital open with his back, as his arms were full with the nearly unconscious form of Toa Taleen. He gently leaned her against the wall and said, "Don't worry, we made it. You'll be fine now." He quickly glanced around, looking for staff.
OOC: Is there someone in charge of the hospital, or do I use NPCs?
IC: "Well," Komuhu said, "how would you like that?"IC: Derlath - [ihu-Koro] - [About to go to work]A small winged Rahi squawked and landed in the middle of the village square. Village residents rushed to read it.
The town crier immediately called for volunteers. Derlath heard them calling about a battle down on Ko-Koro.
IC: (Kane-Ra Riders)
Bombs. That could be problematic. Though one more Toa fell, the rest of the surviving fifteen riders used their elemental or Kanohi powers to deflect and defend attacks- a variety of Hau activations, Matatu throws, and flash-freezing (combined with skillful dodging here) allowed the Toa to evade an untimely demise. In fact, through the abilities granted by the Matatu, two bombs were thrown right back at the bombers.
Meanwhile, the ice fogging continued, intensified even. Anyone who hadn't been freezing was now doing so violently. At this point, this was the Brotherhood's largest problem. As the Riders spread out and circled around the cult, the cold was reaching nigh-ridiculous levels, channeled by the concentrated powers of thirteen* skilled Toa of ice. Soon, the group would know how it felt to have their very joints freeze on them as frostbite caused them to lose their grip. Without their sight, they had little chance of helping themselves against this threat. This was nothing to say for their mounts, who not only could not see, but were hardly conditioned for the quickly-piling snow and ice. They would likely experience adverse effects even faster than their riders.
Allowing himself to feel slightly victorious, Icha was all the more shocked when his Kane-Ra buckled. He managed to land on one knee rather than face-first, however, eyeing the cultist Larikon who could likely not see him. With an activation of his Mask of Speed, he disappeared into a blur, all the while staying in Larikon's blind spot. Winding around from behind, he unsheathed his sword and leveled a decapitation slice with the same blinding quickness.
Meanwhile, towards the back, Karemo had engaged one of the Kane-Ra riders, aiming to take her right off of her Kane-Ra. With little time to react, the Toa could not hope to dodge the attack, and merely absorbed it into herself, shattering a rib but heavy armor taking much of the blow. Immediately, the Toa mentally expended a block of ice around Karemo's feet- this would not stop him by any means, as his feet were moving too fast for them to effectively form. It would, however, cause him to look down. By the time he looked back up, a blade would be directed at his neck.
OOC: *The group without the two PC riders.
IC: Derlath - [ihu-Koro]
Derlath looked down at the little memo he scribbled to himself a day back.
Meet beside Lake Pala. One day after Ko-Koro falls. The black-armoted Skakdi had certainly given Derlath a very tempting proposal.
"Well, now. Riding out to another Koro hardly fits the description of 'defense', now does it?" Derlath commented. Nonetheless, he could get a good price out of this if he helped...
Choices, choices.
The group had ridden out to Ko-Koro already.
"Well that certainly settles it. I think I'll settle a bit down here first," Derlath said.
"But don't worry. If any army comes here intending to conquer it... I will lay down my life to defend this place," Derlath's voice hardened. Well, it was the truth.
"So who do I report to while I'm here? That will be important for when this village comes under attack."
IC: Zekev - [Freezing outside the gates]
Oh, Ak'Rei'An. I absolutely ###### hate the cold now.
My joints were starting to freeze and knock against each other. That must be embarrassing to see.
"Jaaku! Once th-this Lesterin come-comes up to me, she'll slow down after smashing into b-big ol' me. Hit her hard after that happens," I cahttered through my teeth. Yeesh, my proud Skakdi teeth are going to shatter if this continues.
OOC: Brotherhood peeps, do we have another Skakdi?
IC: Trillia (Ko-Koro Gates)
The ground gave way under her steed, the Skakdi was blinded, and another foe came at her steed with a raised sword.
Trillia activated her Kanohi Calix, boosting her leap as she dismounted the Kane-Ra in a spectacular somersault over the Su-Toa, she skid around in the snow and turned to face him from behind.
As her steed focused and getting loose, she aimed her Patero at the Su-Toa at a mere few feet's distance, and fired.
OOC: Karemo was attacking a Lesterin, actually, but I can roll with this.
IC (Karemo): Moving as fast as he was with his body parallel to the ground, Karemo was halfway past the Toa even as he struck his bow, and a second later as her blade came up, he was 20 bio away. This was the strategy behind flying at his target out of a huge dive, rather than running at them through the snow. When they met, he was going far too fast for any significant counter-attack. Angling his body upward, he slowed his headlong rush as the icy ground fell away below him. The battlefield was laid out below him once more, and as he reached his maximum height, he took a moment to knock the ice off his feet.
Diving down once again, he noticed the air around him getting colder and colder the closer he got. He would need to make his attack quickly and get back to the warmer air beyond the ice toas' sphere of influence. Retracing his previous path, he gathered speed once again before shooting a hail of iron spikes at the weakened toa.
IC Ira
"Karz... Interior body temperature... Dropping... Frostbite developing... High risk for hypothermia... No choice!!!" Ira switched from heating the air around him to heating up his own body; while he was still working on melting the snow both on the ground and in his face, most effort was being diverted to keeping himself warm. Fumbling in his bag, he retrieved his lab goggles and attempted to put them on as best he could. Continuing to walk forward, he could only expect the worst.
IC: Greisk - [The Citadel]
Greisk put his weapons up, ready for the charging attacker.
IC: Revekk (Citadel)
He stands ready, awaiting my attack. I don't disappoint, I swing my sword again, aiming for his neck, fully expecting him to block it.
OOC: nacurtsnoC, I think you missed me and Daniel's posts.
IC Onoraza
(Ko-Koro):
Onoraza decided she had waited enough and fired.
IC: Zekev - [Outside Ko-Koro's gates]
Well, now with the rider distracted...
"I'll give you a hand!" I took some of Jaaku's Stralix charges and wedged them into the spaces like Jaaku was doing as quickly as I could. The cold made it hard to do this without shivering. In fact, it was pretty slow-going.
"H-how do w-we set them off?" I asked him.
IC: Greisk - [On the steps of the Citadel]
Greisk ducked and dodged the wild swing. He spun and moved back a step's distance, and came around back to his starting position, only this time Revekk's side was exposed. Greisk brought down one stick onto Revekk's exposed side's ribs.
IC: Revekk (Citadel)
Greisk's action hadn't been completely unexpected, but his attack still reached its mark, but the result was less than he'd probably hoped for.
I grimaced, but held steady as I reached out and grasped at Greisk's arm, bringing my sword's pommel towards his neck with the other.
IC: Greisk - [On the steps outside the Citadel]
The pommel strike was quickly parried by the Toa of Magnetism's other Escrima stick. Greisk pondered his next move for a second- before suddenly striking upward with his knee. If Revekk was slow, it would strike between his legs: highly undesirable. Otherwise, he could maybe jerk a little bit in this locked state, but the attack would knock the wind out of him by impacting his stomach.
IC: (Mortem)
The black vortixx stalked over the cold ground, his right hand clutching his energy staff.
He was late to the battle, but it did not matter. As long as his dark god was pleased in the end, nothing mattered.
He saw some toa who had ventured out to confront their enemy. They didn't stand a chance.
Raising his staff and planting the end firmly in the frost-covered earth, he sent a volley of energy bolts at the toa. All of them hit.
he smiled at the sound of the toa's screams. The Makuta would be pleased.
OOC: Mortem is open for interaction/fighting ![]()
IC: Revekk (Citadel)
It was the crucial second Greisk spent in pondering that allowed me to see his next attack coming, and instead of twisting around, I activated my mask, forming a cushion of strength that protected me from his jab at the lower reaches.
While I felt nothing, Greisk's knee had likely seen better days. The two of us still close together, I pushed with my sword against his stick, and sent my other hand to deliver a punch right to his already deformed face.
IC: Greisk - [On the steps of the Citadel]
Greisk's knee impacted the shield. He didn't hear any cracking sounds, but oh did it hurt.
The recoil and pain from the blow made Greisk lose his balance, right on time for the punch to come. The fist sailed above Greisk's head as his hand that was being gripped was set free, allowing him to fall down onto his stronger knee and dodge the blow unwittingly. This also allowed for his second stick to disconnect from Revekk's pommel.
The Toa of magnetism pushed himself backward across the snowy floor, putting some distance away. As he got up he threw one of his sticks again, aiming for Revekk's knee and guided by the Fa-Toa's control over magnetism, since his attention was used up on the sudden lack of resistance against his sword.
IC: Revekk (Citadel)
By the time Greisk had gotten back to his feet, I had also regained control of my own. One of his sticks came flying towards my knee, I countered.
My sword knocked the stick away, while my other arm reached behind my back and produced a second of the four throwing disks I carried, and hurled it at the Fa-Toa.
IC Londar
During his rush at the Skakdi, Londar had done something that others might consider stupid: he dropped his spear and grabbed his buckler. He was about to draw his sword, but the Skakdi shot her zamor, so he ducked. He instinctively raised his shield, only to realize that it was a bad idea,as zamors were intangible. "Uh-oh..."
IC: Greisk - [On the steps of the Citadel]
The stick was knocked to the left of Greisk, who couldn't reach for it just yet, as the disk came flying to the Toa of Magnetismn, and Greisk tried to dodge it.
His injured knee made it hard, but he managed to concentrate and use his second stick to knock the disk downwards, allowing it to crash onto the ground. Greisk made towards the disk and threw it to the slightly right of Revekk. He timed his second attack carefully. As Revekk turned to the disk (to catch, deflect or cut the disk), Greisk used his magnetism powers and powered the strewn stick, on Revekk's left durectly towards the Lesterin's face, from his blind side.
IC Onoraza
(Ko-Koro):
The Zamor turned intangible on contact with Londar's shield, sprouting vines to bind the Matoran. However, Londar's maneuver hadn't been for nothing. Most of the vines wrapped around the shield instead of Londar himself, making escape much easier.
Onoraza saw this and knew he would have some time before Londar could free himself, but she didn't have enough energy to act. One of her legs was injured and her head was still ringing from Dahkapa's earlier blows.
She stared at Londar and Dahkapa in turns, pure spite in her eyes.
IC: (Mortem)
All around the Makuta-Worshiping vortixx, a mighty battle raged.
Many toa and others had come out of the koro to face their enemy, but their attempts were ultimately futile and many of them were dead or injured, while the combined forces of the Legacy and the Brotherhood drew ever closer to obliterating the defences of the koro.
Mortem had fought many toa in defense of his dark god's words, and was aware of toa's uncanny ability to recover from wounds. Well, in that case, he would try to fix that.
Taking long strides, he wrapped his Cloak of Stealth around him as he made his way to the hospital, which had been set up during the battle and was a little way away from the koro's defenses. As he stalked through the carnage, he absent-mindedly destroyed a few of the defender's worthless lives with energy bolts from his staff: they did not matter, for they didn't believe.
Aiming his staff, he blasted a gaping hole through the wall of the hospital and sending rubble spewing into the interior.
Inside, a Huna-wearing De-Toa lay unconscious, with an Arthron-wearing Fe-Toa standing over her.
Mortem narrowed his eyes.
"State your allegiance to Makuta or be obliterated." he intoned to Jalkron.
OOC: Thats you, Skitty and Vestak ![]()
Jalkron transforms the shield he had created to stop the rubble from hurting him and Taleen into a staff. He looked the vortixx over before saying, "My alligence is above you." As the vortixx looks upwards he sees a large block of iron plumiting towards him as iron shackles bind his hands together and his feet to the ground.
IC: "You're gonna need a bit more than that to screw with this place, pal." smarmed one Kellin Santos, gleefully pulling a flask of mining acid from his trusty Pouch-Onna-Belt.
Tapping Cancer's carapace thrice, he inclined his head towards the Vortixx. The crab knew what to do, he just needed the word.
-------------------------------------------------
IC: Circle round and cut off the escape route. Good to see you using your head for a change.
I noted the block of iron and redoubled my speed. One way or another, the Vortixx's exchange with the new arrival was ending fast. That meant Kellin and I would need to be in position quickly.
IC: (Mortem)
The staff, which was already pointing upwards as it was grasped in Mortem's hand, let out a sizzle as a bolt of energy shot into the iron block, shattering it into fragments.
An instant later, he had angled the staff towards Jalkron and fired off another shot.
Not waiting even to see if the shot had hit, the vortixx stabbed the razor-edged head of the staff into the iron binding his feet, and shot a final blast, which, although it freed his feet, sent him flying backwards.
OOC: Hi, Mortem.
IC: ...Straight into my waiting claws. As the Vortixx's wiry frame crashed into me, I took the initiative and clamped a claw upon his wrist. The hand wielding the staff immobilized, I took my other claw and grabbed his neck, keeping him pinned to the ground rather painfully. Now, where is... Ah.
---------------------------
IC: "Yanno," Kellin drawled, sauntering up to the currently trapped Vortixx, making sure to keep clear of the staff's path. "That staff of yours honestly looks pretty useful, especially for a miner like me. You don't mind if I take it off your hands, do you? I promise I'll take care of it." He vowed, popping the flask's cork. He glanced down at the trapped Makuta worshipper, then up to Cancer.
The crab pressed him into the snow a bit harder and tightened his grip upon the vortixx's wrist, as if imploring him to let go.
IC: Dahkapa (Ko-koro streets)
Dahkapa stopped suddenly when the Skakdi shot her weapon, and hit the shield the matoran was holding. The vines wrapped around his buckler, but he could easily free himself from the vines. He turned to look at the Skakdi, who in turn stared at him like he was a disgusting Rahi.
"Surrender, and this will be over much quicker, without anyone getting hurt more." he said sternly, ready to fight should she turn down his offer. "I promise to spare your life, if you drop your sword."
Jalkron was expecting this, and so he was not there, instead he was rolling through the hole under the blast. He uses his power over metal to send all the shards hurtling towards the vortixx where he lay after blowing the shackles off his feet.
OOC: Alright! Since I had to devote all of last night to sorting out this mess OOC, and then homework, this post requires yet more time nonsense. For reference, chronologically, Agrona's post calling for aid comes first, followed by the post where crystal shards are thrown, followed by Paladin-who's-name-I-can't-spell, followed by Arabeth. This post will start just after Agrona, and will end in the present moment.
IC:
Events unfolded all at once, conflicting instructions, and conflicting goals. A common soldier might have been confused, might even have been hindered by these facts. His team was meant to function efficiently as a unit, collectively greater than the sum of its parts; but they were individuals first. Almost at once, Eisen took into account the events unfolding and acted.
Eisen, there is a Toa flanking us.
Two. The Fe-Toa mentally corrected, even as Echelon called for aid. He was already turning to intercept the attacker when the crystals were launched, and he was in motion even as his ally called for his attention. The swarm of crystals was small, but that didn't reduce their threat; both Echelon and Agrona were now in the line of fire. Their injury would hinder the group as a whole, and their attacker was his designated target; thus, his action was doubly important. His mind a flurry of activity, he noted that his sprint would be just a few moments too slow. Before the thought had even left his mind he lunged, interposing both his shield and his body between the projectiles and their targets. His nerves reported pain, but it wad dull; his cape, moved along his torso with his element, had taken the few impacts that his shield had not managed to catch. Their connection, thus, failed to result in anything but bruises.
Even as he hit the ground, he noted the second flanking being; they had cloaked earlier, when they were at range, but their use of their element revealed their location even as she lunged for his Skakdi ally. Without hesitation, he activated his Crast, targeting the point he knew her body must inhabit, to send her flying back from her target. His mind raced, tallying the situation (three allies in danger, three safeguarded); even on the ground, he didn't have the chance to rest. His shield was pulled tight to his body as he began to rise back to his feet-
Only to feel a growing tug of gravity, pulling him towards an unknown point. Digging his feet into the ground, leaning way back to prevent from being pulled off his feet again, his brought his shield in front of his torso. Thus protected from enemy assault, for the moment, he analyzed; the culprit, more than likely, was the Snowshow Lord, the look of concentration on his face confirming the theory. Clearly, however, he had not considered something; even as his enemies were pulled towards that point, his allies were as well; after all, such a use of gravity is not an indiscriminate effect. Thus, while it was inconvenient for Eisen's allies, it was easily as bad for his allies, if not worse. The ones ducking behind cover, after all, were being dragged out of it as well.
"Target the Paladin!" The Fe-Toa yelled, his first spoken words in quite some time.
OOC:
To summarize;
-Projectiles directed at Echelon and Agrona have been blocked.
-Arabeth has been targeted by the Crast, which should send her back rather hard, given the nature of its abilities.
-All beings in the area, save perhaps the Snowshoe Lord, are being affected by the same gravity well. This is based on its stated effect on the surroundings (icicles being pulled off of the Citadel) and the nature of such a move.
Any questions, feel free to PM or Skype me. ![]()
IC Onoraza
(Ko-Koro):
"Promises from Matoran don't matter one bit", Onoraza replied acidly. "I may not be able to fight you, but the Mangai volcano will have to freeze before I surrender to you. I can still defend myself enough to hurt you if you try to lay your hands on me."
IC: (Larikon Torchbearer/Ko-Koro Gates, The Ice Storm)
The Heathens thought they could freeze him, turn him into an icicle. Larikon, raising his head, felt a strong and sudden impact upon his Great helm. The impact knocked him off Lutrez, and hurled him to the snow. His vision blurred, his head span. The concussion momentarily knocked him unconscious. But disoriented, he rose, shivering with the cold. His surcoat, of tight-knit wool, offered a degree of warmth. But he could feel parts of his body teetering on numbness.
Realizing after his daze Lutrez, protected his coat of fat and fur, was still able to fight, he yelled "Lutrez, sic!". The great bear would smell Icha, and attack the Sanctum guard with ferocity. Teetering through the icy wind, he grabbed Heathenbane from the snow, and went to find Icha. He needed to end the storm, and end it quick. Killing the Ko-Toa one by one would gradually cause the storm to falter, and give them victory. But they needed to be dispatched quickly, lest the freeze.
"Target the riders! Their deaths shall end this cursed wind!"
He kept his blade up defensively.
IC: (Thentyle/Ko-Koro Gates)
Thentyle was discouraged at how bad his trick worked out. But he needed to stop Trillia, and stop her fast. He raised a fist of earth from the ground, large in diameter, and hardly compacted. He sent it barreling a the Lesterin, to take or out of the picture, or distract her for a while.
"Jaaku, rig the gate!"
IC: (Rakona/The Storm)
She heard something vaguely amid the howling wind. 'Target the riders', or something akin to that. Rakona knew the storm was artificial, and had faith in Ak'rei'an that she'd be able to help destroy it. She heard the vague clamber of Hooves to the side of her. A rider, caught in the storm near her. Her whip-gauntlet it hand, and Brotherhood issued hatchet in the other, she ran towards the rider, and struck with the protosteel-coated blade-strings.
She wondered where Goran was, it would have been fine to backup...
IC: Feet still relatively locked to one spot, Gevenne felt himself slowly be dragged towards some unknown point by an implacable, unrelenting, constant force nonetheless.
Was this what it felt like to be a barbell? he thought inanely, as the lower body that could squat 4plate for reps pushed mightily back, attempting to counteract the gravitic tug. Even with his leg injured, this countered the inexorable pull admirably, slowing it into a hard fought hair's width a second.
He had to wonder how long he'd keep it up, though.
More pressing concerns right now. Ko-Koro was gonna make it. We're ALL gonna make it.
Growling with guttural exertion, he swung his arm forward, tracing an arc of flame that was sent speeding off in Eisen, Echelon, and Argona's direction.
IC: Kimala
She hissed again as her attack was- admittedly selflessly- blocked by another Toa. No sooner did that happen, than she felt her center of gravity shift forward, nearly sending her face-first into the snow. Stabilizing herself, she staggered forward, feeling like she was sprinting downhill.
There were three of them now, though affected by gravity. She couldn't tell right away if it was their attempt to pull opponents closer, or an ally attempt to hold them down, but their reaction gave it away. They were at least two against three now. Still unfavorable odds, especially if one of them was a healer.
"Target the paladin!" barked out the one who had blocked her attack. From where she stood, she couldn't see who this paladin was, but if their attention was on him, she might be able to get another attack off.
Conserving her energy, she used her mask to levitate several chunks of ice off nearby structures and sped them "downstream", letting the gravitational pull bring them to full speed toward the hunched trio, then stopped herself, digging her heels into the snow. The closer she got to them, the harder it would be to stand, the more she would be at risk.
OOC: Doing a little time-twiddling myself, and acceptable bunnying of Agrona (given that she was trying to do this anyway). Bolding key points below. Let me know if I've accidentally ignored anything that should be affecting Echelon.
IC (Echelon)
As Eisen shielded them from the crystal onslaught, Agrona peeled Echelon's fingers off his wound and activated her Sana. To a practised user like her, it took little more than a few seconds to fix such a simple wound.
As the flesh of his arm knitted itself back together, the Dark Toa spoke in a low voice to his healer.
"They are getting too numerous," he muttered. "We need to get inside the Sanctum and continue with the plan."
With his arm fixed, prepared to stand up, but as an arc of fire shot towards them he dropped low again, dragging Agrona down with his free hand. The flames passed above their heads.
A moment later, he felt a sudden pull on his person. A point of gravitational attraction had been created within their midst (confirming his hypothesis as to the Snowshoe Lord's element), and threatened to throw the group into disarray, literally collapsing in on itself.
"Target the Paladin!" came Eisen's call.
I have just the thing.
Magnetising his own legs to the ground to anchor himself—and quickly summoning some Dark Magnetism to redirect the chunks of ice-rubble that Kimala had launched at him—Echelon locked his gaze on the Toa of Gravity, the sharp eyebrows of his mask slanting in malice. He activated his Kanohi.
With Ropurungui already clearly in his sights, locating the Toa's mind was of no difficulty. Like lightly probing tentacles, he brushed against the confines of the Snowshoe Lord's consciousness. His mental touch was, for now, so delicate as to be unnoticed, and only the most brazen surface emotions could be sensed: mostly righteous anger. How unsurprising.
The Komau was capable of such finesse, such subtlety; with the proper care and skill, it could plant a suggestion without ever arousing suspicion, or wear down a stubborn will by seeking out the cracks in its defences.
But this was not the time for finesse. It was the time for brute force, to smash the enemy's concentration. And the Komau had an answer to that too.
Like a smith forging iron into a blade, Echelon forged his will into a weapon, and delivered a mental blast to Ropurungui's mind. An instant migraine exploded in the Toa's head.
IC: Guard Snipers (Citadel)
The snipers were following Rorg now, firing as best as they could at the Fe-Skakdi. Realizing that he was more skilled than any of them, they still had a few tricks waiting for him.
The best trick was still in store for him, when the next sniper found himself staring down the barrel of Rorg's rifle, he promptly activated his Mask of Shielding, knowing the bullet would come. And sure enough, the bullet never reached its target, something that couldn't quite be said about the bullet the sniper fired in return.
OOC: This edit has been agreed upon by me and Delilah
IC (Rorg)
These opponents of mine recognize their danger: through silent communication, they agree to concentrate their fire. I move quickly and erratically before the Citadel, raising my weapon for only the briefest of moments to aim, fire, then repeat as necessary.
It is not long before all three are dead- no. Even as this thought crosses my mind, a stabbing pain shoots through my upper arm. I swiftly return my sight to the walls, and see a blob of orange and yellow light. A Crast? Improbable. A Hau? Likely. Said mask can only guard against expected attacks, so I feign severe injury and drop to my knees, clutching my chest.
Then, as swiftly as I can, I raise my weapon and fire. The sniper crumples.
I take a moment to assess my condition. A graze above my ear drips with blood, but it is not serious. My upper right arm, however, is injured. I inspect it. The bullet remains inside, which will stem the bleeding, but does not bode well for the proper function of my arm. Fortunately, firing a gun does not require physical acrobatics, and I am otherwise in good health.
I turn to face the guards on the Citadel, armed with Patero launchers. These weapons are laughable; they are primitive to the extreme, requiring the user to generate pressure by pumping full an air bladder. Having already unleashed a round, they are busy preparing their next.
I have four shots remaining. I plan to use them well. I raise my sights, and fire.
OOC This outcome was agreed upon by Gear and I. The guards on the Citadel with Patero launchers are now under attack.
IC: So they dodged...
But that -did- keep them preoccupied, even if for a split second.
Continue applying pressure. Constant pressure, don't give him room to think.
And so Gevenne did just that, splaying his fingers as small orbs of flame appeared at the tip of each.
All five shot off at the group, and even as they streaked through the air like small comets, the Toa was already in the midst of sending another salvo their way.
IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk/The Sanctum)
It seemed the company of misfits were trying to break through their group. Sukot wouldn't take such absurdity. He was being pushed away, he realized, but by the time he was, his Patero Launcher was cocked and loaded. As Echelon was doing some kind of mind-attack against the Knightly fellow (He saw the Snowman's strained look), Sukot pointed the muzzle at him, and fired. At that moment, around a dozen bamboo spears shot towards the necromancer.
"Hey hey!"
NPCs- Ko-Koro Citadel Snipers
The first guard barely had time to register that his target was aiming back at him before his Kanohi exploded into fragments and he tumbled off of his vantage point, plummeting into the abyss the Citadel was positioned over.
The rest of the snipers, having observed the fate of their fellows, immediately turned tail and fled, in a few steps disappearing back into the cover the corridors of the sanctum offered them. A few shot off a couple half-hearted, half-pumped and poorly aimed shots with their launchers before they escaped.
IC Londar
Dahkapa would find Londar's now drawn sword pointed cautiously in his direction.
"Okay, what exactly is going on? I come here looking for work and next thing you know, stuff's blowing up and people are fighting in the streets."
IC: (Kane-Ra Riders)
The Brotherhood of Ak'rei'an was, unless they were maintaining their body heat somehow, now experiencing the effects of vasoconstriction. As their bodies struggled to remain warm in the rigorous conditions, their blood circulation began to be cut off in the extremities. Their hands would likely start tingling now and their motor control would begin wavering. Warm blood was increasingly difficult to come by as the cold intensified, chilling the cultists to the bone. It was unlikely now that they would be able to react as quickly, which is why it would be even more deadly when one of the Toa took out a crossbow and began taking shots at his blinded foes.
Karemo would soon find that the more icy the landscape got, the harder it was for him to run fast while maintaining control. If he didn't watch his step, he could very well begin sliding and running into other combatants, which would do little to help his situation. A wall of ice erected in front of the incoming ice spikes, but the Toa didn't waste a second hiding behind this cover. Yanking on the reigns, she sped up on the bull, barreling towards her opponent before erecting another wall of rock-hard ice directly in his path- different than the other one in that it was technically two perpendicular walls. In its construction, it would force him to either run directly into it or leap into the path of her rampaging Kane-Ra. Because of the ice, it would be quite difficult to stop in time, if not impossible. Both options had rather adverse effects on the Toa's bone structure.
Though Ira now had the advantage of limited sight and eye protection, he would soon find it hard to continue walking, as one of the riders had put their full focus on him, forming literal icicles on his body from the sheer cold. He needed to find a way out, fast, or he would be the first of the cult members to die a horrible death. Even more unfortunate, the snow around him began to pile up. Things were not looking good for him, to say the least.
Meanwhile, Icha was closing in on Larikon Torchbearer, wielder of ironic last names. The tall Toa of ice did not enjoy ending life, but in the matter of village-wide defense, no weapon could be spared. Not even lethality. As soon as he heard the command the cult leader shouted, his mask kicked in to action. To the world, he sped up. To him, the world slowed down. He nimbly side-stepped the charging Lutrez, slinging a hooked slash at the Rahi's neck before looping around behind Larikon and leveling a killing blow at his mid-back. From behind, at the speed he was traveling, Larikon would need a miracle to live past Icha's attack. With one last thought of the dead riders whose bodies lay strewn in the snow, he jabbed the blade forward.
OOC: If I missed anyone, feel free to PM me.
OOC: Agreed with Delilah to re-arrange the attack sequence. This attack happens only now. So sorry I missed Ghosthands' post. Editing now.
IC: Arabeth - [On the steps outside the Citadel]
Arabeth's blows struck home, but before she could start a follow-up attack, a violently huge force suddenly pushed against her.
Like a ragdoll, she was flung backwards, losing concentration of her mask. Through her screaming body and disoriented mind she noticed the ground coming up to her. Instinctively, Arabeth curled up and absorbed most of the past as she fell, tumbling across the floor.
Where were her weapons? It didn't matter. She slowly started toblose consciousness. Arabeth struggled and managed to shakily get back onto her feet.
IC: Zekev - [Outside Ko-Koro's Gates]
Zekev heard Larikon's strong voice over the wind. Turning around he spotted the nearest rider. He stopped his charge placements for a second, and drew his axe and shield. The rider was preoccupied. Zekev crept behind her and fired a laser blast at close range to her head before swinging his axe.
