IC: Squid
Squid stopped and turned.
"You'll find out with your own discoveries! Interact, learn, fight and more."
IC Kakarahk:
"But nobody ever seems to pay attention to me. And I have no one to fight."
IC: Nightmare-Hallway---> Courtyard
He was still trying to find his way through the School, when he found a Courtyard... And Lots Of Rahkshi had assembled in it...
Perfect place to Start...
He walked through slowly, Activating his Fear powers going Gradually up from Slight Uneasiness, to Paranoia.
IC: Shark / Team Doublecross / Visorak Wilds
Shark turned to look at the artful newcomer. Apparently she had a lingering animosity towards his hostage for some reason... If he played this right, he wouldn't even need to kill Shadow himself. But he didn't want him dead quite yet...
"My beautifully painted comrade, I have no desire to rob you of your vengeance. At the moment, though, we stand to gain more with him alive. With a hostage, our enemies will be forced to concede, lest we harm him... " The huge Rahkshi leaned in closer to Rain, using his silence powers to ensure only she could hear him, "but once we have what we want from them, I'll leave him in your capable hands..."
* * *
IC: Lucid / Courtyard
"I changed the subject? How!? Your asked who was running the talent show, and I told you!" Lucid said indignantly. She was starting to get fed up with Vaalku.
* * *
IC: Vlad / Gym
Vlad shrugged a goodbye to Bullseye as he left, then asked the Gym to form a bench in front of the organ. He sat down and played that B Minor chord again.
OOC: Vlad open to interaction.
* * *
IC: Jayar / Malebranche Cable Car
Jayar guided Hoto through the deafening crowds. He knew this was hard on her. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked.
Of course, the Vortixx had asked them a question... He absently wrote, Not a handout - a vacation. Life at the school is often arduous. He showed the book to the apprentice, though he was more concerned with Hoto.
IC: Squid
"Then follow the Three Virtues- Unity, Duty and Destiny!"
IC Kakarahk:
Kakarahk scratched his head. "What does that mean?" he asked.
IC: Nightmare-Courtyard
Hmm, Interesting, they are all completely Ignoring my attempts at making them afraid via My powers... Maybe I don't have enough energy to do it for I am Starving...
And then he Spotted the Stage, now he Had two Questions, and He looked for someone to Answer them, "Hello Sirs, I don't care if I burst in on any conversation, I just need food, can you direct me to where I can get some?" He asked two rahkshi that were obviously having a Conversation, while he also used his fear powers to at least do something.
OOC: thats Squid and Kahkarak
IC Kakarahk:
Kakarahk looked at the rahk who interrupted. For some reason, it made him uneasy. "N-no. ", he said.
IC: Nightmare-Courtyard
Ugh, Hungry...
He put his fear powers on full blast(For him, still level 2, only Paranoia), and started to Crawl away on all 4 limbs, before falling face first on the Ground, and then getting up and limping away...
IC Visorak Wilds
While he had reached out, grabbed a branch and hauled himself up in a single motion due to his powers. His enemy took due time to do so. Was he just waiting around while they clambered about? Of course not!
As his opponent ascended, he snapped off a long green branching branch, suitably bendy and flexible. And with a multitudes of thin whip like leafs and branches on the end. Not of the mindset to jump straight to lethal attacks, he instead swung the make shift bullwhip at his opponent's face. The end of it whistling through the air. It would be extremely painful.
IC: Silver - Visorak wilds
I brought up my armored hand to bat it away and hopefully knock it out of my opponent's head. It shuddered with the force of the impact, but I was otherwise unharmed. I prepared my staff with the other hand.
IC: Squid
Squid looked uneasily at the Rahkshi walking away and turned back to Kakarahk.
"You'll find your way. I sure did."
IC Visorak Wilds
Due to his elastic constitution, Caoutchouc absorbed shock quite easily. A normal rahkshi might've lost control of their weapon for that reason, but his grip stayed firm and true. The enemy had a rahkshi staff, so he quickly began to advance on him, swinging the branch in his face as he did so. Reduce the distance between the enemy and him and he neutralized the advantage they gained with their polearm.
IC: Nightmare-Hallway--->Refectory
Nightmare needed food, He continued to walk until he found a door, it was a big door, he opened it up, and found...
What he was looking for,
"Finally! Food!" he asked a Yellow orb with limbs for food, it went off and fetched him some food, he didn't care what it tasted like, he poured it down. "Now problem number 1 solved-" he Gagged a Bit from eating so much tasteless slop so fast "-Solved, its time to go and figure out more about this school! then I can start scheming."
IC: Hoto - Malebranche
"It's... a bit more crowded... than I remember," she sighed. "I'll be fine. I just... need to get used to it."
It wasn't exactly a lie, but it made her feel terrible nonetheless. She tried to jump to another subject. "So... how's the view?"
IC: Rain - Visorak Jungle (Team Doublecross)
She didn't know quite what to say. One thing was sure though, she liked how this guy thinks. Complementing her paint and promising vengeance were two ways to get on Rain's good side.
She reluctantly looked down at the unconscious Scribbler. It would be so easy to end his miserable existence right now... but how much more fun would it be to make him pay with Fins by her side? Then there were those other two... perhaps avoiding conflict would be better for now.
"Deal," she smirked, sticking out a deceptively delicate hand to seal it.
IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)
Root readied his staff and silently crept between the buildings. Naught but the rustle of leaves betrayed his presence, though his camouflage was not as effective in the open. As of yet, the city appeared abandoned. He could make out no place for a flag to hide.
IC: Shield
Shield looked around. "Let's check that lighthouse." Shield said.
IC: Shark / Team Doublecross / Visorak Wilds
Shark smiled a false but convincing smile for the benefit of camaraderie, and gave Rain a firm handshake. This was perfect. If all went well, he would have his hostage, the satisfaction of having arranged a death, and exemption from punishment.
Now... when to press the advantage? In the nearby tree there appeared to be a battle going between Cao and Silver... He would let it run its course. If Cao injured Silver as was likely, it would be easier to finish him off with an unfortunate accident.
* * *
IC: Jayar / Malebranche Cable Car
Jayar tried to give a genuine smile as he turned to the window. "The top tier is more crowded than the rest, by a lot." he said. "Grossh' place is... the fifth tier, if I recall correctly." It wasn't hard to pick out the fabulous dwelling on smithing level. "It shouldn't be so bad down there."
IC: Silver - Visorak wilds
I steeled myself (figuratively, of course; it's not like I'm a limited invulnerability Rahk) against the blows and stabbed forward with my staff, carefully balancing on two thick branches. At the last second I sent my Molecular Disruption power through it, hoping to surprise my opponent with a quick strike to the chest.
IC: Hoto - Malebranche
"It was hot down there," she recalled. "I... can't blame everyone for staying up here."
IC: Rain - Visorak Jungle (Team Doublecross)
Rain returned the shake just as firmly and matched his grin with her own. With business concluded, she planted her staff dangerously near Scribbler's neck and leaned back to watch. There may be another fight going on, but she was not letting her captive out of her sight.
IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)
At first, the very idea seemed ridiculous, but as Root paused to consider it, the strategy of such a plan made itself known. The city below was a dangerous labyrinth, as wont to hiding foe as friend. The ever-watchful tower, however, provided a great vantage point to scour the streets for the smallest hint of enemy presence. 'Twas defensible both via attack or concealment.
Root gave a quick nod and moved off in that direction. 'Twas nearly as simple as walking around the Library, though to be heard meant far more than a Porter's shush.
IC: Shield
Shield covered Root's back, his tomahawk ready to throw.
IC: Jayar / Malebranche Cable Car
Now Jayar frowned. They had barely done anything yet, and Hoto already seemed to be pessimistic about the rest of the trip. "Well, we shouldn't need to stay down there the entire time; there's plenty to do on the other upper levels. Come on, don't be gloomy. We're supposed to be on vacation."
IC: Hoto - Malebranche
She sighed and pulled back inside a little. "Sorry, it's just... bad memories here. I... had a hard time with the last assignment. I didn't know what to do. I guess I... hoped it would be better.." She gave him a small smile.
IC: Jayar / Malebranche
"Well, don't worry about this time," Jayar said, returning the smile despite knowing Hoto probably couldn't see it. "We're here to escape all the disappointments of the academy, right?... I know it's not as easy to do as to say, but try not to let memories of assignments bother you." Memories of assignments were not the worst lodged in Hoto's mind, Jayar knew... Sontiri was in there somewhere, they had to be. But here, there should be nothing to trigger them... he hoped. "This isn't an assignment, for one, for another, you're level four. And this time... I'm here, too."
IC: Era - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Ruins).
I could hear them. Two Rahkshi, doing their best to remain quiet. Finally....
But agaisnt me, they just weren't good enough.
Not moving from my position, I mimicked the call of a predatory bird. In amongst the rest of the sounds from the village - the soft warbling of birds, the scurrying of rodents, the soft rustle of leaves in the wind - one more bird call wouldn't stand out.
The rest of my team would recognise that particular bird call, though. It was the sound that Zivon, my pet Kahu made, and also the signal we agreed on for me to alert my teammates to an enemy incursion.
________________________________________________________________
IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village lighthouse).
That's the signal!
"Positions everyone," I hissed, slipping behind the pile of rubble up on the ledge. "Here they come...."
IC: Shield
"Something doesn't feel right..." Shield said, as they approached the lighthouse.
IC Kat:
With a grin, I slipped behind my piece of cover. Between shadow and stone, I was nigh invisible.
I drew my remaining shortsword, and waited for the our guests.
IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse
I hid behind my own hiding spot. Time to play the waiting game.
IC: Hoto - Malebranche
"Yeah... sorry," she said again. She pulled herself back into the cable car and nestled up close to Jayar. She didn't bother moving as she focused on trying to push out the noise of the crowd.
IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)
Root cast a wary eye at their surroundings. "'T-tis f-f-far t-t-too q-quiet," he replied in a low voice. The opposing team was established in this village, were they not? Then... why were there no cries of alarm, nor sudden attacks? 'Twas a perfect example of a potential ambush. Such had many heroes fallen in his stories!
But they had seen nothing to report to their commander. To retreat now would only be seen as cowardice, and a hero is no coward! Surely, he and his noble companion could vanquish whatever foe dared to attack them! He pressed on through the village with a new courage, though he kept a wary eye out for the smallest motion, and an ear to harken to the smallest shifting of rubble. But all was silent.
As the heroes approached the lightout, Root gripped each end of his staff in turn, covering the smooth surface in long spikes with his powers. If any foe dare advance, they would be in for a thorny surprise.
All at once, they were at the threshold. The interior was dim, but his keen Rahkshi vision pierced through the darkness and searched the remains of time. He lurked just outside the door and picked up a rock. His projectile quickly found itself sailing through the air and tumbling across the floor. If there were any traps, it may activate them. If there were foes, they may have a distraction.
IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).
I flinched as I heard the rock land, and jerked out from behind my cover. "Don't come any closer!" I said shakily, raising a rock of my own in my hand. "You'll regret it!"
IC: Shield
Shield covered himself with his large shield and pressed onwards, ducking behind it. He gestured to Root to do the same.
IC Kat:
The stone skittered across the floor past Stronghold and I.
I stayed put, waiting for Exxan.
The plan hinged on his move.
IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)
'Twas shameful to admit, but Root jerked backward as the striped Rahkshi suddenly appeared. But then, he merely stopped and put a hand on Shield's shoulder to stop him.
"W-w-where are y-your c-c-c-companions?" Root asked sincerely. "W-w-we seek n-not t-t-to h-harm."
His armor glowed as he instinctively braced his plants for impact.
IC: Shield
Shield blushed. Of course, this was just a single peasant- like in the stories. They need not hurt him!
IC: Jayar / Malebranche
"It's okay," said Jayar, reaching one comforting arm around Hoto. Probably they were freaking out the Vortixx a little, oh well...
IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).
I flinched, backing away from the strangers. "My team took the flag and ditched me." I picked up another rock, holding the two projectiles up in my shaking hands. "They stabbed me in the back," I laughed hysterically, "get it? Backstabbed?"
IC: Shield
These backstabbers were true villains! They must be defeated. "We can help you!" Shield said.
IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)
'Twas such a tragedy! A poor, helpless Rahkshi, abandoned by those who should be his allies! Perhaps they could shelter him from the treachery, and bring him back among those who would not betray.
"A h-h-hero d-d-does n-not l-leave another b-b-behind," said he, "W-w-we w-will not h-harm y-you. P-p-please, s-set the rock d-d-down."
He was not making any sudden moves until this Rahkshi was comforted. Hopefully, they would see the noble intentions in Root's heart!
IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).
I put the rocks down on top of the rubble barrier in front of me, but didn't climb down off the ledge. I wasn't going to give up my higher-ground advantage to a pair of rahks I didn't even recognise.
"Who are you two?" I asked, hoping they'd come inside just a little more....
IC Kat:
Come on.... Just come in. It's one Rahkshi.....
I was eager, but not impatient. I knew how this game worked.
And it could take some time....
IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)
"Merely a p-p-pair of h-humble h-heroes seeking y-your c-c-companions," Root answered gently. He lowered his staff and slowly stepped forward, arms extended innocuously. 'Twould not do to frighten the poor fellow!
