IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)

Root nobly remained silent. The Turahk's question, he had no answer to, but he would not give away their leader so easily.

We have been defeated once, we cannot succumb a second time...

IC Kat:

I sighed heavily.

"I was afraid you'd say no..."

In a flash, Scourge was out, wrapped around Root's arms, pinning them behind his back.

I dragged him bodily by the leafy mane he wore over to the trapdoor, opened it with my other hand, and tossed him in.

I followed soon after, pausing just long enough to give Exxan a nod.

The trapdoor slammed shut over me.

I turned to Root.

"I really, really didn't want to do this."

I placed a hand on his shoulder, sending Fear rippling through him, feeling the familiar chill as power surged through me. I kept it low, for now. There was no need to be hasty.

"Who's leading your squad, hero?"

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

I tried not to laugh. These guys were just weird, but if they wanted to persist with this hero act, I was more than willing to play my part.

While Kat dragged Root away, I turned my attention to Shield.

"Yes, we're the villains, the most foul and evil villains you'll ever encounter. Now tell us what we need to know or we'll take you apart and send you back to your team piece by mangled, bloody piece."

I was curious as to which of the duo would break first.

IC: Shield

Shield simply crossed his arms. "You'll have to beat it out of me then."

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse

One went in, and the other was being interrogated. I stepped out of my spot.

"Perhaps I would be happy to oblige."

IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)

He had not the strength to resist as the Turahk dragged him into darkness. Fear... no, heroic horror began to spread through his body. Was there... some fearsome creature down here with them? He could nearly feel it breathing at his back... nibbling at his plants... And his captor looked down impassively, claws digging through his coat into his armor, eyes glowing wickedly...

He looked back down and remained silent. A hero has no need of fear. 'Twas naught but the Turahk's power. She had not become some fiend, and there was nothing lurking here.

He would not succumb.

IC Kat:

With a flick of my wrist, my sword was out, pressed ever so uncomfortably against his throat.

"Speak."

IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)

Mere threats would not make him speak. A hero does not reveal information to the villain. The pain would be bearable.

IC: Silver  - Visorak wilds

I ducked away from the punches and swung a knifehand strike at his chest with my armored fist, not yet exposing the hidden blade.

OOC: Sorry this is so late. I've been pretty busy.

IC: Shield

Shield burst out laughing at Stronghold's hilarious attempt to look scary. "Oh, please no, don't hurt me!" Shield chuckled.

IC Kat:

I blinked, a smile passing my lips.

"Not bad, hero. Seriously, remind me to fight you again sometime."

I made as if to turn and leave, then whirled and planted my blade into his Kraata case. It was certainly not lethal, he'd be able to patch himself up.

But I made sure to put it right through the cluster of nerves that allowed us to feel through our suits.

Movement would be agony.

I turned my powers full blast.

If he resisted this, there was nothing more I could do.

"Information. Talk."

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse

I wasn't trying to be scary yet. But then again a Rahkshi wearing yellow and black Kraata skin and looks like a bee isn't all that intimidating.

I needed to intimidate this "hero."

I stood over him, my more larger body and Kraata obviously well-known to him now.

I took of my spikes from my cestuses and put on the blades.

"Do you see this?"

I was gesturing to myself and the skin that I wore.

IC: Shield

"Yes, I see it." Shield said, his eyes giving a bored look.

IC Vaalku

"Good idea." Vaalku pushed against the wall to stand.

IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)

By all appearances, he had passed her test. But he was not going to lower his guard yet. She was still a villain, already proven adept at feigning honor.

And then came the flash of her blade. Root let himself fall to the side to avoid the strike, but there was little to be done. The edge pierced his armor and through the side of his Kraata. But the brief moment had saved him from more severe injury.

He hit the ground and hissed with pain. Then came the real assault. There was no time for rational thought. Suddenly his mind was wrapped in a panic. The Turahk took on the form of the most fearsome beast of his stories. It loomed before him, leering in its victory, preparing the final blows to break him.

Even if he wanted to, his mouth could not form the words. Syllables stuck fast upon the tip of his tongue, building up and crashing against one another into an incoherent mumble.

But they were not secrets of his team. Though his mind and body were in agony, a hero does not succumb.

"N-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-NO!!" he screamed, pushing through the fear in what 'twould be a last act of defiance.

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse

"Where do you think this skin came from?"

IC: Shield

"I dunno." Shield could not give less of a .

OOC: He's tied up right?

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse

"It comes from fools like you."

IC: Sidonas - Visorak

Sidonas nodded, placing the gauntlet on his arm and loading a bolt. This was an invention he had finally forged and given to Recoil as a gift, he would conserve bolts, and forge more when he was back at the academy. Sidonas whispered. "Keep to the trees. If one of us is to be seen then let it be me, only assist me in melee combat when we both have no ammunition left. If I am seen, then I will keep our friend distracted while you approach from behind. If you are spotted, then I will try knocking our target unconscious with Hook, as it makes a good club when not used for grappling. Ready? Go." At that Sidonas used his agility to throw himself into another tree. He crouched behind some leaves and aimed the crossbow gauntlet, firing at Cao's kneecap.

IC: Fang - Visorak Forest (Team Backstab)

As Fang waited below Caoutchouc's battle, he suddenly heard a rustle of leaves from behind him, and a shot fired directly at his ally.

More Doublecross...

He whirled around with his free hand stretched out and sent a blast of plasma at the base of the attacker's tree. As the trunk was rapidly vaporized, the tree would begin to fall. That should discourage any further attempts...

IC Kat:

I cut off my power as soon as he spoke the word, yanking my blade free as painlessly as possible.

I sighed, and clambered out if the trapdoor.

"Nothing. The guy has a strong mind."

"Any luck with him...?"

IC: Sanu

Sanu Started Carving the U in his name on His Not-Brass-Brass-Knuckle, using his Knife, it was Faint Scratches, he would improve it on his way back to Corpus.he then slipped on the Finished Weapon.

This is Gonna be Fun...

OOC: No he isn't.

IC: Shield

Shield just laughed. "I'll keep that in mind."

OOC: Realized that I made an auto-hit then.

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse

"Not yet. Tie him up and use your fear power on him. I think I have an idea."

IC Visorak Wilds

Ducking low had exposed the enemy to a simple and effective maneuver, a knee to the facial area. This movement also allowed me to avoid the hence forth unseen crossbow bolt.

Couldn't worry about ranged attackers. Enemy in front.

Gotta trust Fang.

IC: Sidonas - Visorak

Sidonas had fired the shot, things seemed to be going in his favor.

Then the tree started to fall. Karz.

Quickly Sidonas sprinted from a branch of the tree to another tree, firing one shot at his target's other knee this time. He saw Recoil and made a symbol of a silence, warning her to keep quiet. Sidonas spoke, hoping to draw attention to him and not her. "You took at shot at the tree? Geez, you must have really bad aim to fire a shot like that and expect to hit me. I mean really? Really? This is Backstab's finest? A Rahk who cannot even get close to his target? You really must put in a lot more effort to hit one as myself. Now if you would kindly lay down your arms, we can settle this without any violence needed." Sidonas had no idea what he was saying, considering he was making most of this up as he went. If he could annoy or even anger his target, it would allow Recoil time to strike. That was all that was needed.

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

"Give me a sec," I told Kat, "I'm just getting started."

"Let me make this really simple for you," I knelt down in front of Shield, one of my knives dancing idly in my hand, "I don't want to hurt you. I don't like hurting people. But if I have to, I will. Now, tell me, who is the leader of your team?" 

IC: Shield

"I'll never tell you!" Shield yelled defiantly.

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse
I went to put my hands on his shoulders from behind so he wouldn't escape so easily.
 

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

"But you don't even know why I'm asking," I said in mock offence, "Do you?"

IC: Shield

"Obviously for evil!" Shield said, struggling against Stronghold.

IC: Root - Backstab Base (Team Doublecross)

The blade was gone, though the pain lingered. The effects of her fear powers were fading from his mind. Surely, that was not all. He braced himself for what was to come next. He would not succumb.

But the Turahk had in truth departed. The trap door clanged shut, casting him into darkness once more. Root pushed himself over to a wall, then upright. He was still bound, limiting the plants he could reach, either for protection or for healing. His fingers desperately grasped for what small things they could reach, but alas, 'twould be of little use!

All he could do was hope Shield was faring well...

IC: Fang - Visorak Jungle (Team Backstab)

He wasn't going to let this meddling Brakas make him angry. As simple as it would be to melt him into slag, he was not going to injure him so severely. He just needed to level the playing field.

And so that's what he did.

A few quick burst of plasma later, and the tree his enemy was standing on, as well as the trees around it, were toppling to the ground.

"I'll try harder next time," he hissed threateningly.

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

"Not for evil." I shook my head, "I'm actually trying to help you."

IC: Shield

"Help me with what?"

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

"Help you get out of here alive" I said cordially, a wicked grin spreading across my face, "You see, if you tell me about who your leader is, it's going to help me help you to survive this assignment?"

OOC: By the looks of it, he's sitting right?

IC: Stronghold/Backstab/Lighthouse

I pressed harder preventing him from moving his shoulders properly, and went put my legs so that he was in between it to prevent him from squirming so much.

IC: Shield

Shield looked straight at Exxan. "You will never hear it from me!" Shield said.

IC: Exxan - Team Backstab (Farsholt Village Lighthouse).

"Allow me to explain," I offered, giving him a warm smile, "I want to know who your leader is, so I can tell if they can be negotiated with. If they're a reasonable, level-headed person, perhaps we can strike a deal with them. If not...."

My smile turned cold. 

IC Kat:

Idly, I twirled the blade in my hand, still coated with Root's ichor.

"You know, he said the same thing before I killed him...." I said nonchalantly.

I looked at Kat.
