OOC: I haven't yet settled on a characterization for Jikal. They're all failry similar, but not quite the same.IC: Jikal"I don't think it works that way." Jikal said quietly. "Power corrupts, and those with power can either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.""And Marks are power incarnate."
OOC: I'm back!IC: Jikal's conversation was interrupted by a knock. Or rather, two sets of knocks. The first was a lazy series of five punches, rapping quickly against the door. A few seconds later, the second knock followed, three heavier blows crisply hitting the door, evenly spaced this time. Outside the room, two Toa stood waiting. Kamaehu leaned lightly against the opposite wall, watching the door, while Ara'kas stood squarely in the center of the hallway, looking towards the stairs.
IC: JikalJikal stood, and moved to the door. "Yes? Who is it?"
IC: Kamaehu sighed, then pushed himself away from the wall so he too was by the door. "It's Kamaehu, and I don't really like to talk through doors."
IC: JikalCrefully, Jikal opened the door. "How may I help you?" Jikal asked, a wary edge in his voice.
IC: "You may not understand. I'm here to help you." He smiled, but not his normal, sort of forced smile. This was a grin, full of anticipation, but with a hint of malice. "Angelus might like to know I'll be joining you. A practical suicide mission. It sounds like great fun."
IC: Jikal"Good to know. Angelus is with Tuara, down the hall. I'll see you in the morning." Jikal carefully closed the door, and sat back down.
IC: Kitsune, Ta-Koro"I don't think that power corrupts anyone. I think it merely brings out who they truly are. But the marks, they're not just power... They're something beyond that. You must actively fight, or embrace what they signify. While Power is a gift that you can do with as you chose, marks are... controlling."She said before the knocking began. When Jikal returned, she spoke again. "Who was that?"
IC (Voi and Voima, Ta-Koro Prison):Jala, Captain of the Guard, entered the room where Voima and the others were held. Two guards were with him, holding their spears proudly."So, you're the ones suspected for helping a cannibal", Jala started. "My guards searched the tunnel between Onu-Koro and Ta-Koro for your invisible friend. They even went through the Lightstone Mines and Le-Koro Highway. But it seems he has escaped. Once again. Given that he really was the cannibal, of course.""He was", Voima said. "And these guys were helping him tie me up. They were going to take me to the Mangai Volcano to be cooked. It's a sick ritual some fanatic Makuta followers like them have."
IC;"And this toa of gravity forgot to mention he tried to kill us multiple times in both Onu and Ko-koro, As well as us not being cannibals," Kreigero blurted.IC (Voi and Voima, Ta-Koro Prison):Jala, Captain of the Guard, entered the room where Voima and the others were held. Two guards were with him, holding their spears proudly."So, you're the ones suspected for helping a cannibal", Jala started. IC: Jikal"Someone else joining our cause." Jikal answered. He sat in the chair, hands clasped in his lap. "They are controlling." Jikal agreed. "And they awaken the darkest parts of sentient nature."After a long moment, he spoke again. "The line between controlling the Mark and being controlled is a fine one. Very fine."
IC: Kitsune, Ta-Koro"All you can do is try." She said, smiling at him before rolling over.In a few minutes, the breathing of a sleeping being could be heard.
IC (Voi and Voima, Ta-Koro Prison):"My guards did tell me about your stories conflicting", Jala said. "The question here is, which story is the right one? Is either?""You can't trust those who help cannibals", Voima said, grinning."Does any of you have any proof of... well... anything you say?" Jala asked.
IC:Kreigero sighed. This would be tough. "We could be escorted to Onu-koro to prove from eyewitnesses of our clashes there, it that helps"
IC: "Watch it," Demas growled, turning toward the Toa. He stood, waving his hand to disrupt the magnetic bolt. He advanced, placing his hand on the hilt of his sword.
IC:[Pantak]:Pantak walked into Ta-Koro. Loooking for information, he found a Matoran, which he threatened to kill unless he told of the recent going ons in Ta-Koro. One of the things he told was "A skakdi of fire was recently arrested. Red in color, wore black armor. He escaped, but was put back in jail". Pantak knew that was his old friend Hantak, and he resolved to get him out. He knew that Hantak would be indebted to him if he got him out. He walked toward the jail and went in. "Where are you keeping the Skakdi of fire you recently arrested?" He asked the guard. He shot a small blast of heat vision, just to show that he was serious. The guard said "Over in that cell". Pantak went to the cell the guard had specified. He looked in, and sure enough, he saw Hantak. He hit the bars with his club. Noticing they had been dented, he kept hitting, until there was an opening large enough to get through. "You're going to owe me for this." he said to Hantak. They walked hurriedly out of the jail, into the street. Hantak said "Thanks for getting me out." Pantak replied "It wasn't free. I'm expecting payback as soon as you have money." Hantak, seemingly ignoring the response, walked down the street, and Pantak went the other way. Hantak vowed to seek revenge on Dino, and started searching. He realized, however, that he should get away from Ta-Wahi, as he was now a fugitive. He walked quickly down the street until he was out of Ta-Koro. He then went through the Burnt forest into Le-Wahi.OOC: Hantak to Le-WahiOOC: Pantak is open to interaction with anyone.
IC: "Friend of yours?" Mantoxis asked, holding his blade ready. "You know, you're just proving my point here. Don't get involved if this isn't your buisness. Unless this is your buisness, in which my fears are confirmed." He twirled his blade, ready to attack or parry at any moment.IC:(Baneless): He watched silently, ready to intervene on the part of the lone toa. He didn't really care who the toa was, he was just hired to protect him. Untill then, he would continue spinning his disk, watching silently.-Bane
IC: Angelus (Ta-Koro)Another knock or two on Jikal's door."It's Angel! I have a lead and I'm leaving with or without you."-Teezy
IC: JikalJikal groaned, and opened the door. "What kind of lead?"He leaned on the doorframe.
IC: Angelus (Inn, Ta-Koro)Immediately, Angel lifted up a sheet of paper to Jikal's face, lighting his hand with a fireball so it could be seen in the dark atmosphere blanketing the room. On it was a beautifully sketched picture of an equally gorgeous Toa of Iron wearing a Calix, form-fitting marching band jacket, tight black leather pants, and a stolen Ensign's Badge. Angel's calligraphic signature was scribbled along the bottom right hand corner."I found Dorian."-Teezy
IC: JikalJikal's gaze sharpened. "Where?"He stopped leaning against the doorframe, and stood a little taller.
IC: Angelus (Inn, Ta-Koro)"Around midnight yesterday, a Toa perfectly matching Dorian's new description used an Ensign's Badge stolen from Tuara to check into the Ta-Koro Guard HQ, requesting access to some prisoner named Hiemalis. Dorian let him loose, and the two of them - plus some other unnamed Toa, who disappeared immediately afterwards - broke their way out of the headquarters. Dorian's estimated to have butchered around 70% of the Guard in the attack. Immediately afterwards, according to the guards on duty by the gates at the time," he said, ruffling the paper and putting it against the doorframe, "this description was registered headed in the direction of Po-Wahi."-Teezy
IC: JikalJikal frowned. "That is indeed a lead. We'll need to move quickly."The Toa moved away from the door, and started to gather his items.
IC: Angelus (Ta-Koro)"Leave whatever you don't need here. We'll be back by morning."Angel took out another sheet of paper and scribbled a quick note on it.Tuara,Got a lead on Dorian. Jikal and I headed to Po-Wahi to do some quick scouting. I'll be back by morning; how does breakfast in bed sound?Lots of love,Angel-Teezy
IC: JikalAfter a moment of hesitation, Jikal left his guitar. He scribbled a note down for Kitsune.I left with Angelus to do some scouting. Should be back by morning. He slipped into his cloak, and grabbed his sword. "Let's go."
IC: Wraith - Inn, Ta-koro -Wraith had overheard Jikal, and was quick to join up with them, "You've got a lead? I'll accompany you."
IC: Angelus (Ta-Koro)Angel smirked at Jikal."Bro, we are so whipped."He walked into his and Tuara's room and set the note down softly at her bedside table, kissing her softly on the top of the head so as to not wake her. Turning, he and Jikal walked out of the Inn and towards the gates.-Teezy
IC: Jikal"Yeah, but I'm justified. If I go missing, people'll probably assume I went off to go kill something." Jikal commented as he walked.
IC: TawaraOh, this is just great. The first night I've got an actual bed for I-don't-know-how-long and I can't get a moment's rest.It was true. Tawara couldn't sleep. Every time her eyelids started to droop, a face with sickly green eyes and a malicious grin flashed across her vision. Iris. Iris wasn't the only one, either. The Matoran had experienced so many near-misses in the last day, and some others she had seen had not been so lucky. This island was a death trap. This inn didn't exactly seem safe, either. Tawara's eyes drifted over to Gyren's prone form. Was it possible that she had judged him incorrectly? Could he be planning to eviscerate her or the others during the middle of the night? It didn't seem likely. What about the others? Could Tuara be less herself than the others thought? These questions burned in the Ni-Matoran's mind, and she shivered. Finally, the Matoran sighed and searched through her satchel, her hand emerging with the sheathed skinning knife. Tawara sat down on her bed, her back against the hard, stony wall, and waited for morning to come.
IC: Angelus (Ta-Koro)"Alright, then. I'm whipped."The three reached the gates and made their way to Po-Wahi.OOC: Angelus, Jikal, and Wraith to Po-Wahi.-Teezy
IC: [stronin]
"Actually, one of your guys, who I hate a lot, can prove my innocence. Sort of. Is Aronis Ril still in the village?"
IC: A lead, eh? Let's see how much fire I've got left. With a word to halt Ara'kas, Kamaehu slipped out of the inn, calling to Calaras so he could catch up to Angelus and Jikal.OOC: Kamaehu to Po-wahi.
IC-Hasil:Hasil rolled his eyes, wondering why he was constantly being left behind by the others. Shrugging, he grabbed his crutch and began to walk over towards Po-Wahi, hoping he'd catch up to the others in the next week.
IC: "You're still in no shape to go chasing power-drunk toa." Ara'kas had grabbed Hasil's shoulder, stopping him from following the others. "Stay and protect the womenfolk or something."
IC-Hasil:"Of course," Hasil said humourlessly, swatting a fly away from Ara'kas mask. "Am I doing well, so far?" He then asked sarcastically. He shook hsi head."I wasn't planning to fight unless forced-I'd be taking more of an advisory role." The Mri's eyes glinted for a moment, as though they were polished steel themselves."I can still defend myself if it's needed, though. Care to test?"
IC: The young Toa sat up in his bed. The voices outside his room had woken him up. Gyren sat up against the wall. He couldn't make out Tawara in the darkness that engulfed him. The young Toa sighed and retrieved his notebook from his coat. Gyren carefully dug into his pockets for a quill and ink pot. The steel tip seemed to shine, almost like his scalpel. He stretched out his arms by making slashing motions in the air with his quill. The young Toa wrote down the room arrangements of the group.-Briani - Raion -Jikal/Iris -Kitsune-Angelus - Tuara-Tawara - I-That wraith-like Toa whose name I never got - No one?He stopped, suddenly realizing something. From what the young being observed, the other roommates had shown signs of love. And thus each of them shared a room. "Strange... It's possible that they're either putting the young ones in one room, trying to pair me up with her, or this is some insidious plot..." Gyren stated quietly as he flipped through his notebook. He sighed, thinking about his conversation with Briani earlier.
OOC: Fun fact. I only stated there were four rooms and seven beds. Everyone else got to chose where they slept.IC: Raion & Kitsune, Ta-KoroKitsune woke with a start, thanks to an loud, dangerously powerful knocking at the door. The door creaked in protest, and Kitsune wrapped the blankets around her self before running towards the door, fearing it might break open."Who is it?" "Raion. Briani kicked me out. I considered breaking down the door, but I don't feel like paying property damage fines. Can I use your floor?" "Fine." Kitsune said with a sigh, Opening the door a crack. Raion barreled through, nearly crushing Kitsune between the wall and door. Picking the largest spot of uncovered floor, Raion laid down, no blankets, no matress, only him and the stone. In minutes, he fell asleep.
IC: TawaraTawara's muscles tensed as she heard a scratching noise close by. Slowly and silently, she drew her blade from its sheath.OOC: The scratching noise is Gyren's quill. Just wanted to make sure you knew that.
IC: Optimus hurled his fire sphere at Zar. "I go by that name no more!" He drew his sword and ignited it. "Galvatroth...you...all the Phantoms will pay for what they have done. Fight, coward!" He whirled his sword and unleashed a wide arc of flame on Zar.
OOC: Hello RPG Forum. IC Oura - Ta-Koro - Buying Goods: Finally. FINALLY. At long last, Oura had achieved a state of peace and quiet. Or rather, a life of peace and quiet; he had effectively hidden himself away from Vaarn and his goons, and was now living a peaceful life in solace in the depths and shadows of Ta-Koro. Well, that didn't mean he was living in the alleys, he lived in his own home, and had his own job, but he made absolutely no contact with the natives of the Koro, and stayed out of the community as much as possible. It had been a long while since he had pulled off a job; and for all the kiddies, he didn't mean a robbery, he meant an assassination. His days of being a merc for hire were postponed- at least until he was absolutely sure that Vaarn would never look for him in Ta-Koro again. And to be honest, Oura wasn't sure why Vaarn had gone through all the trouble he had to kill him in the first place; sure, he had plenty of dirt on him, and he had failed the assassination he was hired to perform, but you'd think he would give up trying to get him after almost a month of chasing after his shadow. He hadn't seen Vaarn nor his goons in about a week now, and he was starting to get the feeling that they had given up on finding him. Maybe someone had taken Vaarn down... hm, he would have to check on that, just in case Vaarn was still alive. He walked up to a merchant stand, and quickly purchased some bread, a large case of water, and a few decently sized slabs of Rahi meat. Once done with his business transaction, he then proceeded to carry his goods down the road, and into the living district of Ta-Koro, where he quickly found his house, and entered it. He set the food down on a nearby table, and locked the front door, walking around the house to make sure everything was exactly the way he had left it. Once he was satisfied that everything was alright, he decided that he would take a quick nap, and then head out to where he worked. OOC: He'll be open for interaction in the next post or so. -Oura
