  • IC:"That's the sanest idea you've ever had, Ril," said Kethrye, rising his hand to his chin. A lot has happened while we where tied up in Ko-Wahi, apparently "We do need someone way for others to identify us; Badges are probably the only economical way to do that."As for name ideas, I got nothing," he continued with a shrug. "It's true that "Island Liberation Squad" is kinda outdated, considering how much we've grown lately."Kethrye choose not to bring up the Toa of Shadows reappearance, he would look into that later.

  • OOC: Plagia from Ko-Wahi.IC: Plagia Simul - Pala-KoroMata Nui, it was good to be back in warm, humid, non-snowy Le-Wahi. And back in Pala-Koro, my home for the time being."Home sweet home," I muttered, as I let my bag slip from my shoulder into my hand, so that it dragged along the ground.Glancing around, I couldn't help but notice all the new people milling about, chatting, training or working. The ILS certainly grew while we were away. Not bothering to wait for the others, I began the long trek over to Akinii's grave, for some reason even I don't know. I mean, it's not like going back there is going to help in any way, shape or form. After a brief jaunt, I noticed a grey Skakdi (Frii-Glokk), who seemed to be in some kind of target practice against a cluster of trees. "Y'okay there, mate?" I called out, hoping that he would hear me over the sound of his own firing.OOC: That would be you, Bulik.-Void
IC:Frii'glokk made a quick glance towards his approacher before looking back at his target. "Yes, I'm Fine". Fwoosh! Klunk. "Just Taking in the scenery" Fwoosh! He had loose another round, with a satisfying Klunk as it embedded itself into a tree. "And practicing. Are you in the ILS?"

  • IC: Frenn was falling, falling, falling, falling down and over some sort of form had tripped her up. Normally she was quite nimble; the last thing to trip her up was a pair of Muaka wrestling. She could only make out a black and silver-ish body that sent her tripping. The size of the person appeared to be a Vortixx. The thought that crossed her mind as her hand planted against the ground was verbal, “What in Mata-Nui are you doing laying in the flower bed of Muaka’s back end?”She did a slight pushup before she launched herself backup into a standing position. The tone of the Vortixx was not dangerous, but Frenn kept her one Shotel out and ready just in case…

IC: Madrihk"Yes, I would be interesting in observing the proceedings once I'm up to date on our current status here."Madrihk looked over the now bustling area and wondered why he hadn't gotten this idea sooner in his life. Hiring mercenaries had never worked out because they only stayed for as long as the money lasted, and their moral was not of the kind where they would fight extra hard against overwhelming odds. To them, their life was more worth than money, and money was more worth than morals. The good people that voluntarily joined the Island Liberation Squad, however... they weren't in it for the money, and they were prepared to pay for freedom with their lives.Convince them that the cause is good and just... and you have a force to be reckoned with, Madrihk thought. Symbolism was big for such causes as well. Now they needed a banner to wave, and it was good to hear that some already had ideas.
IC: Ril"Thank you," he said. "Now, I find that a Red Star may be a pretty noticeable emblem."
"The Red Star does indeed stand out as a good symbol," the Toa of Ice replied. "Each village has its own simple symbol representing their element, while the star would fit everyone. It represents the destiny that lies in our futures, and its light stands in contrast to the darkness we oppose. A nice suggestion, so keep it in mind till later. If we are to decide on a symbol, we'll have to vote on it, I suppose."OOC: While I like the idea of the simple Red Star representing Toa and destiny and freedom and stuff, the first thing that sprung to mind was
The red star and the hammer and sickle are regarded as occupation symbols as well as symbols of totalitarianism and state terror by several countries formerly occupied by the Soviet Union.

    - Azuriel -

Steadily a soft sigh escaped his dark lips, a twisting purple petal gently changing course as the warm air pushed it up into the liquid laden air. For but a moment he shut his eyes, as if reflecting on the words spoken by the strangely paranoid individual. Slowly turning his head to face the woman he opened his sapphire eyes, adding a sort of luminous quality to his already amiable countenance."Why... why not? Laying amongst the flowers is surely no vice in a land such as this," gently his expression became one of confusion, unsure what the strange lady meant by "muaka's back end" and while he absolutely knew he laid not upon a pile of ill smelling matter, perhaps she referred simply to how some of the jungle grows? But, even in such a case, Azuriel felt nearly certain that the flowers in which he lay were not food to muaka, much less would have their seeds devoured, and so he branded the coppery individual as mad for the time being. "I see no issue with it, besides the probability that those here choose not to, in which case I presume I deviate from the standard in that manner. Anywho, what brings your sort to this tranquil little corner?"While the sight of a shotel would, surely, put a pang of fear into the hearts of many a man, this young vortixx felt confident that as long as he kept a harmless appearance she would choose not to strike him. If she did, well so be it. Unlike many others operating upon the lands, Azuriel held to a non-violent mantra. For violence, all too often, begets only more violence in retort -- similar to how hate seems to spread like a monstrous disease. Otherwise, fighting fire with fire never worked in his favor before coming to this island. After all, disobeying a mistress is an utmost dishonor and can lead to many brutal forms of discipline, none of which Azuriel wished to ever experience again."Oh, and don't mind me, I'm fairly harmless as far as vortixx are concerned."

  • IC (Weta): "I couldn't agree more" Weta concurred. "The mountains and the deserts are very nice and all, but the jungle just has som much more... life". Riding up the river towards the tree-village, the forest seemed to be welcoming them back with open arms. This place was undeniably vibrant, despite the Makuta's growing hold on the island. Here, nature went on without interruption by the darkness, and it was glorious.

  • IC: Tank - Le-Wahi Jungle - Chapter 2Two weeks later.Tank sat down at the cave entrance, just in front of the vine wall, so thick the opening behind it was invisible. The soothing running of a miniature waterfall behind him next to the cave splished and splashed in an inconsistent manner, adding to the soft drumming from the recent rainfall. It had rained hard in the area before him, the thunder and lightning was not particularly pleasant to sleep with. Although, Tank was not one to complain about some things as trivial as the weather, especially considering his current situation.Kearrstrun had brought Tank and Tuara there to keep them hidden from any Bearers looking to steal time. Or Iris. She hadn't spoken much about what she saw in Dorian's mind, or at all really. Very little, and only enough to convey the simplest of thoughts and feelings. This was particularly worrying. Tank didn't feel the need to have Tuara's Iris explore what he'd seen with Dorian, nor what he had shown Dorian in response. He had conversed with his own Iris about it enough to decide what was seen, was better left unspoken of.Tank looked behind him briefly, making sure neither of his companions had followed him. They already knew what he had to be doing in order to stay alive, but all the same; Tank felt it would be better to be alone during his... Feeding. Tank rolled up his sleeve to check his Timestamp quickly. He had maintained the clock always above ten days for the past two weeks; not really gaining or losing any since his clash with the Bearer of Anger. He let the sleeve droop a little more now, although not enough to cover his forearm. You can always just take more. You already know my stance on that. You want to survive don't you?Tank ignored the voice in his head that was Iris and instead pulled out a small knife, bringing the dull blade up to eye level, as though examining it. He had not bothered keeping it sharp, instead, as a dull knife it fulfilled it's purpose better: It caused more pain. Tank hesitated, continuing to gaze at his only way out of forcing pain upon others.Do you think I'd be better off dead?Iris took a moment to answer. Suicide might end your own pain, but it won't solve any of the other problems you've caused.I suppose you're right.Tank sighed to himself, his posture crouching down slightly, as though shameful of the question asked, despite the reason behind Iris' answer. Tarn didn't care enough about the pain of others, but only for the memories in Tank's Mark. This acknowledgement was probably the prompt for Iris' next response."When do I get to see it?"Tank let the knife lower lazily, bringing the blade to his wrist, preparing to mark yet another layer of scars. Tank activated his Mark."We've yet to accomplish our goal."The distraught Toa of sands made the first cut before realizing the last bit of the conversation was being spoken out loud.

Now, he didn't usually think this much, in fact, ever since meeting Verak he had though more than he had ever had to before, but when Ankt did think, he usually came up with questions. As he did this time. "Hey, how is it that it can be smouldering in Ta, freezing in Ko, humid in Le, damp and cold in Onu, dry and hot in Po, and just right in Ga?" He had run it over in his mind a few times, and it still hadn't made sense to him. "Shouldn't the temperatures be overlapping somewhere?"

"I've gotten used to having one hand over the years, but... it's mostly the memories that hurt" He looked at the ground sheepishly. "All I remember is..." .Headache again. He gulped down some more of the liquid. "I was a messenger for warlords in my homeland" More headache. More drinking. "Sometimes they didn't like the messages they got". The pain increased. He indulged in more of the delicious liquid. "And they punished us... to emphasize... their anger" Even now, the drink wasn't helping too much. "I was sold to slavers after my.... injury" Another gulp. Now he was leaning against a tree for support. "I worked as a slave for years... then A vortixx gave me this" He gestured to the prosthetic gun. "I planned to escape on a boat travelling to another slave camp" He was sitting down, leaning against the tree now; The headache was unbearable. "Then there was a storm and I woke up on a beach" He emptied the last few drops of the bottle and his vision hazed while he leaned against the tree. "The... headache..." was all he could mumble before he became half-asleep. The headache was all he could feel.
