  • IC-Hasil:Hasil shrugged in his fashion, a slight tilt of the head to the right and back."I have something that I have been putting off for much too long," Hasil said after a moment's thought. "I have need to visit the grave of my uncle-I have not done so in a great time. Afterwards, I do not know. Perhaps I shall find two rather adventurous Matoran again, wherever they have gone, though I believe they are within Le-Wahi now. Isn't that where Lake Pala is?"

  • IC (Avya)The silence grew long. It wasn't an awkward silence, but more of the comfortable silence of friends. I'd long since finished my meal, so I didn't have much reason to stay, but I couldn't help lingering. It felt good to sit here, in this warm inn, with people I knew I could trust.Still, it was getting late, and I had an adventure to start tomorrow.I pushed back my chair and stood. "Thank you all for your company, but I should get to bed now. I've got a journey to start on early tomorrow, and hopefully it will lead to some answers."I smiled, then turned and walked up the stairs of the Lavapool Inn, where my bed awaited me. One more night in Ta-Koro... and then off on another adventure.OOC: Timeskip time, Progenitous? Next post I'll have Avya wake up and go to meet Isfel.

  • IC: Vinathli & Jilsud, Ga-Koro"A Ga-Matoran with a a stick of bambo could accomplish this with ease." Vinathli said without interest. "Why would you have us distract the guards? I will not work until I understand the goal I am trying to complete."
IC:Kohra chuckled, bemused. "Your goal is to provide me with an opening to get into the guarded area. That is what I pay you for. As for my reasons...ignorance is truly bliss. Don't bother yourself with these secrets of scary people. I can tell you have been around, you know how the world works. I am sure you understand not disclosing all information at once."
IC: Vinathli & Jilsud, Ta-KoroVinathli stared at Kohra for a moment before answering. It was an unnerving stare, the stare of one who lacks emotion, one who would gladly stab you through the heart if you gave them a chance.Jilsud tweedled his thumbs, staring at them as if they were the most amazing things ever created. "A large percentage of my income is created by completing bounties made by the Guard." Vinathli said, her eyes boring into Kohra. "I suggest you tell me what you are doing if you want us, some of the island's best, to help you."OOC: Sorry for late response.

  • IC (Avya)I awoke to semi-darkness; the sun had just risen, lighting the gray clouds that perpetually hovered over Ta-Koro.I got out of bed and washed my face, then strapped my sword to my back with a leather sheath I'd purchased for a few widgets the night before. The weapon felt good on my back; I could reach for it at any time, but it was out of the way when I didn't need it.I descended the stairs of the Lavapool Inn to find the bartender wiping tables, preparing for the breakfast crowd. A smile and a few widgets bought me some fresh fruit, which I ate as I made my way out into the cool morning to meet Isfel. The morning was cool only when compared to the temperature in Ta-Koro for the rest of the day. It was still warm and dry, but the air was noticeably cooler than the hot afternoon. Before long, I'd made it to the place I'd met Isfel the night before. He wasn't there yet, but I'd said at sunrise, and the sun had only just risen, so I was early. So I settled myself down to wait.

  • IC:Kohra sighed. Vinathli was the kind of Toa that wasn't satisfied with half-answers. And it turned out, she was working for the guard occasionally. On the side of the so-called angels...pah. The Vortixx thought. But at the same time, she couldn't help but admit that the Toa's approach to the deal was very much how she herself would have done it. Maybe if they had met under different circumstances, the two of them could have gotten along much better. But the way things were right now, that was not the case.No. Kohra needed something. And she was realistic enough to know that she could not rely on her skills in stealth alone to achieve her goal. Vinathli and Jilsud were a way to give her an opening. If she could convince them to help. She put on a straight face for once...although coupling it with a lie: "You take on jobs for the guard? Excellent. That means they trust you to a certain degree, which is all to the good and serves my needs quite well. To be honest, I need to get into the guard-post. They raided the house of an old...friend of mine; who unfurtunately joined forces with the wrong crowd and his been on the run from the law ever since. You could tell if you saw him. The black armor, the hood, the green eyes...almost like that Toa Onua the Matoran tell legends about. Although, not as bulky of course. Still, I do not think he is up to any good these days.""But to finally get to the point: when they searched his home, they confiscated several items of value. Most of them were items that he came by through criminal activity, you see, but one, one of them belonged to me. I had asked him to keep it safe in my place. It is an old heirloom; and I wish to have it again. But the guard would definitely not let my kind into their fine guardhouse...so I came up with a slightly...less legal way, to retrieve it. And I will pay you handsomely in return."She finished her tale with a smile. A genuine smile. Of course the story was a hundred percent fabricated. She had no friends on this island, or anywhere else. She had just herself and her dark passenger to guide her. And he was pleased. She remembered the Toa that had tried to stop her in Ko-Koro very well. And the black one had been especially dangerous, for reasons she could not quite put her finger on yet. But if Drae had made new friends, perhaps she could convince others that they were up to no good as well...maybe even tie them to the murders of the Matoran she had comitted. It would be an elegant solution. And it would further spread mistrust. But that was just a secondary goal. Right now she needed Vinathli's and Jilsud's help to get into the guard-post. Although not to do what she had said she wanted to.

  • IC:Vilak and Takamaz returned to the meeting point, at the same time as Divan and Bijackal. It was Takamaz who spoke first,"Since we were both assigned to gather information, what did you find?'"Any Toa criminal meeting that description would belong to the Black Inferno, an organization that operates out of Xa-Koro. ""We were told to check Xa-koro as well. I guess we know our destination, then.""After we resupply our widget count." Miraul interjected. He had just arrived. "Where's Axana and Hikari? I have some new equipment that might be of use. I think I should teach you all how to use it."-----Axana and Hikari had spent the better part of an hour getting something to eat and debating the merits of finding a new Kanohi. Hikari had decided to wait and keep thinking about it. They returned to the meeting point last. After Miraul explained to them what they had found, he suggested that he show them the newest weapon in the team's arsenal.

  • IC: Avya had only a short time to wait. A little after sunrise, just before it actually started to get light, Isfel walked up. In contrast to Avya, who had spent the night indoors, and had cleaned up before going out, Isfel looked positively unkempt. His clothes were rumpled and dirtied, partially from from sleeping in an indeterminate outside location, and his mask was streaked with dust. He actually didn't look like he gotten much sleep, really. However, his demeanor showed no irritation as he walked over to Avya. "So, are you ready to go on an adventure?" he asked with a grin.

  • IC-Hasil:Near the pair that was Avya and Isfel stood a man, clothed entirely in black, watching them from the shadows where he stood. There was the barest chance that Avya might notice his eyes, but it was low...and he was completely behind Isfel, where the Toa of Fire would not see them. You see, he did not know the way to Le-Koro, being the new arrival on the island that he was. Well, new no longer, but he still didn't know the way. And so he watched, and waited, until the pair would leave and he could silently follow.

If I had know he needed a room, I would have gladly shared mine...But he seemed happy and not at all put out, so I pushed my guilty thoughts aside and nodded. "I'm ready. To Le-Koro, then?"We began to walk . Before long, we passed through the gates of Ta-Koro, which had just barely opened after being closed for the night, and began our trek along a long, gray road that Isfel said led to the jungle, to Le-Koro.And, hopefully, to the Island Liberation Squad.OOC: Avya and Isfel to Le-Wahi.

  • IC: Vinathli & Jilsud, Ta-KoroVinathli smiled slightly. Her smile was genuine as well, but it contained only scorn. "Did you just ignore my last sentence?" She asked, slowly, letting the words sink in.Jilsud looked up from his thumbs to glance from Kohra to Vinathli. His partner was close to outright refusing, and if the Vortixx didn't answer soon, he'd have to find another person willing to hire bodyguards of mercenaries.

  • OOC: Had a chance to include some more character-development ^^IC:Kohra kept up her smile, but only because letting go of it now would reveal her complete and utter surprise at the unexpected...density, of her opposite. Had she lost interest halway through the Vortixx' sentence, or had she not listened in the first place? So she took things slow, taking another sip from her drink, savoring the intricate flavors of it as it ran over her tongue and down her throat, before casually placing the glass back on the wooden table. She can not seriously be this slow...I just told her what it is I intend to do, did I now? she mentally asked herself. It would appear she is, her dark passenger chimed in from the back of her mind, his dark lurking place. Perhaps, if I ever tire of you, I will approach her as a replacement.Kohra hissed internally. Over my dead body.Oh, most certainly over that. was the single reply. And then there was silence. She looked up from her glass, her eyes once more meeting those of Vinathli. "Perhaps, you did not listen closely enough? Allow me to recapitulate, in short: I intend to retrieve my belongings from the guard...steal them back, if you will." she said, her voice taking on an icy undertone. "Or was your previous question aimed at my regular, daily profession?" she added, the enquiry formulated purposefully sheepish. "For if you are referring to the latter, we will be sitting at this table for a rather long time, something I am sure both of us do not have the luxury of having."She reclined in her seat in the booth they were sitting in. "Suffice to say, I had done many things to make a living, from mundane occupations such as inventing new technology, to the exciting work of diplomacy and political escort, though at the moment, I find myself in the liberating position of being a mere traveler, revisiting old friends..."If Vinathli had been able to read minds, she could have wtinessed the inner turmoil Kohra's last words had caused in her thoughts. From the outside though, the Toa was unable to tell, much less her companion. Because as she had spoken, Kohra realized that what had come to her mind, the jobs she had done in her previous life, which she had merely brought up as lies to convince the Toa to help her, had not been lies. She did not need to imagine what these jobs were, because she could remember them...images of the past flashing before her inner eye: The workbench in the factory, thousands of pieces waiting to be assembled into amazing gadgets; meetings with ambassadors and CEOs, moving unfathomable sums of money...and being on dates, with the same old men from the meetings, looking pretty at their side, making them feel good about themselves, all just to earn a living...All these images were gone again in an instant, as if somebody was trying to keep them from her. The Vortixx shifted her posture, to diguise her slight discomfort. How could she remember these things, if she had no memories prior to waking up in that cave in Ko-Wahi? She would have to try and find answers...after sealing this deal...or walking away from it."So, is your curiosity satisfied, or do you wish to inquire some more?"OOC: Do you plan on taking the job and are just playing hard to get, Darkon? Because if this works out I can see the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Vinathli and Kohra, especially considering my future plans for her.

On one hand, I think that it would be great fun and character development, on the other, I'd rather not have Vinathli & Jilsud be turned into one of the island's most wanted. :/IC: Vinathli & Jilsud, Ta-Koro"Actually, I have a question." Jilsud, raising his hand in a fashion that was, surprisingly, not mocking. He clearly realized he was the least of the three beings at the table, and reflected this with his gesture. "What's going to happen to us if we do this? Are we going to run for our lives? And then be forced to live in the jungles of Le-Wahi, eating only the mushrooms and grubs we can find, living a miserable existence until we eat something fatal, a die a painful, relatively short death? Or will we follow you?"

  • OOC: No risk of that happening, Kohra keeps a low profile for the most part.IC:"That depends entirely on the manner in which you approach this job...I just want access to the guard-post, but the manner in which you achieve that for me I leave entirely up to you." the Vortixx replied, smiling again. She casually leaned forward into an upright sitting position again. "Of course, if you were thinking of comitting murder in broad daylight to get the necessary attention, your life may very well become that of fugitives, but again, that is your choice."A soft chuckle came over her lips. "Besides, I am not the type to gather followers. Take the job and do it in whatever way suits you best...or leave it and I will simply find somebody willing to help me."

She took a second, then hefted her huge pack back on her shoulders, began to walk down the pathway, where the distinctive Ta-Koran buildings and the signs giving directions or advertising wares crowded in around the edges. She kept her eyes open for one advertising a place to stay. And soon it made itself visible. She turned quickly, wanting to get her pack off her back as soon as possible. It was really starting to hurt now.But the hotel loomed in front of them now, built into the sheer rock of Ta-Koro's wall. Fortunately, it was close to the tunnel, Lara's final destination, and the main square. She paused outside and looked to Cirya. "Is this the hotel you were thinking of?" she asked.

After examining some of the weapons on display for a time, Embok spoke. "I need a sword, hand and a half, that's guaranteed not to break," the yellow-armored Toa explained. "Preferably not a broadsword, or a rapier."He turned to the Fe-Matoran. "Do you have anything like that?" he asked, fixing his gaze on the being.IC: Cirya"Um, yes, I think so," the Toa of Crystal replied. However, the Toa of Plasma eventually shook his head, and handed the weapon back. "Perhaps something slightly shorter," he said. "Remember, I am going to have to channel my element through it, so heat may effect it as well."IC: Cirya"Yes, please," the Toa of Crystal said, pulling out her bag of widgets. • IC:"Excellent." was the only reply Kohra gave. Vinathli got up and left without another word, which suited the Vortixx just fine. If she hadn't asked so many questions before, Kohra would have almost thought the two of them had some sort of mutual understanding by chance. Now the only one left was Jilsud. Kohra studied the mlae Vortixx casually for a few second and decided to play nice. She remembered the initial reaction Lord van Paikish had had when she had approached him. And he had been a man of class. Jilsud on the other hand was a mercenary and apparently hung on every word Vinathli said. So treating him with fake warmth would probably be the best option. She smiled at him. "I am sorry we could not reach an agreement sooner," she said, "it must be terrible being stuck with two such stubborn women."
