  • IC: Onyx (Main Village Area)The time for sitting around was over, payback was in order and just eager to be upheld. As Onyx began his stride though, a violent explosion emanated from the Headquarters' location which shook the earth. That added fuel to the fire, feeding the gatekeeper's anger to a boiling point, liable to explode in in a show of berserker rage. It was then however that an unknown Toa caught his eye, a small yet perceptible smile creeping up his face as he watched the fireworks, a myriad of orange, red and yellow dancing across his face before he focused his attention on his cloak. That was enough to classify the man as an enemy, one who was about to get his skull crushed very soon. Before the intruder knew it, a weighty ball about the size of a fist was whizzing through the air at an incredible speed right for him, thrown with such strength only a Pakari-user could muster. In case the projectile didn't hit, it was better to be safe than sorry so Onyx had taken the liberty to charge with his war hammer poised for battle. It was time for revenge.OOC: Onyx engaging Zenix. Hi Xemnas :P

  • IC SurAfter a foolish notion to visit Pala-Koro that ended up with her half of the night, Sur went back to bed. Her sleep was a short one but luckily for her she had learned the correct durations of time to sleep for (OOC REM cycles) so she wasn't too tired when she woke up in the morning. Polishing her armor and grabbing her suitcase and herbs, she headed out the door to her herb shop. Something told her that this would be a busy day...

  • IC: AckuneUnfortunatelly, for Ira, Ackune hadn't created as much as an opening as Ira first thought, as Ackune's bladed warhammer came swinging down, catching Ira's sword and forcing it to the ground. This possible putting Ira off-balance, the blind Ta-Toa fired off another beam of heat from his other hand, point blank at Ira's torso. The flames covering the other Toa of Fire would do little to to shield him from the beam, but they did prove to be quite uncomfortable for Ackune, as they singed the ends of his armor. This gave him another line of small burns across his chest armor. Once again, nothing that his resistance to heat couldn't handle, atleast for a time.

  • OOC: Another Pakari user? Oh boy. :P Oh well, at least it's not Hiemalis or something. XPIC, Zenix: Zenix looked and saw the ball of... some sort of metal, probably iron, flying at him. Zenix simply moved to the side to avoid getting hit, allowing the ball to smash a tree farther away. Then he saw Onyx charging at him. Zenix sighed. Another nuisance? Couldn't he just get to the village without any more annoyances? Almost in exasperation, he pointed one of his gladii at the ground slightly farther in front of Onyx and sent out some Blackfire, therefore setting the ground there also on Blackfire and darkening Onyx's vision. If Onyx didn't stop charging, he would get burned. But Zenix knew that he would probably find a way around it, so he prepared himself for attack.

  • IC IraPain. Heat. Surprise. Ira had tried to block it with his tonfa blade but it hadn't worked. His fire sword lay on the ground but Ira was in no set of mind to pick it up. Crying out in pain, he started to stagger back. "Blood must be paid in BLOOD!" he thought. Gripping Ackune's armor with his mind, he began to channel his elemental power through it. It began to heat up at a rapid pace until it became unbearable for even this old man. And if he could tolerate it, well, at least it would become malleable enough so that it wouldn't be reliable protection anymore. He continued to heat up Ackune's armor, most notably his Kanohi, hoping that he could damage it somehow. OOC would setting his flesh on fire be too much?

  • IC: Onyx (Main Village Area)Black flames suddenly erupted Onyx's path, somehow sucking in whatever little bit of illumination the village possessed. It rose high, its flickering tongues dancing menacingly, threatening to consume whatever dare touch it. It was an oddity, one the Fe-Toa wasn't familiar with at all but now wasn't the moment to examine it to sate his curiosity. All he knew was that fire was fire and it burned. Taking advantage of the black wall that blocked both fighters from each other's vision, he stopped short from it and imitated sharp cries of pain without sounding fake in the slightest, hoping to attempt Zenix for even a fraction of a second that he'd been consumed in a fiery inferno. Because that was all it would take for the metal spear Onyx flung from the other side of the flames to skewer an unsuspecting wielder of blackfire, Onyx having the element of surprise in his favour.

  • IC, Zenix: Zenix heard the cries of pain. However, he didn't know if that meant that Onyx had just gotten hurt or he had died. Zenix waited to see if there was any movement, but just then a metal spear flew out from the other side. Quick as a flash, Zenix brought up his gladii, crossed them, and caught the metal spear just inches from his face. Zenix tossed it to the side and called, "Fight me yourself, cowardly fool!" hoping to anger Onyx and bring him closer to make it easier to dispatch him.

  • OOC would setting his flesh on fire be too much?
OOC: Hm, I'd consider that an auto-hit, so I wouldn't try it. Not quite sure, though.IC: AckuneThe Toa of Fire felt his armor begin to increase in heat, and it was then that he knew something was wrong. It wasn't above his natural tolerance to heat yet, but it soon would be. What he needed to do was tricky, be possible.Because he unable to absorb or otherwise control the heat Ira was pumping into his armor, Ackune instead absorbed the heat coming off of it. While the metal was still heating up, none of the thermal energy was reaching Ackune. With the heat leetching out of his armor and into the cooler matter around it, Ira would spend more and more elemental energy keeping it up, while Ackune just gained it from the attack.Eventually, though, Ira would probably realise what was happening, or run out of elemental energy to use.

  • IC Ira Ira realized this too after awhile. Ackune was just standing there not being affected. "Time for plan b," he thought. He suddenly reversed the flow of elemental energy, absorbing all of the heat in Ackune's armor and started pumping it into his kanohi. Ackune's mask of sonar began to get hotter and hotter with heat meant for a whole body being pumped into it when suddenly, Ira absorbed it all out, turning it ice cold. Hopefully the sudden temperature shift would crack the mask.

  • OOC: I don't think you could have blocked the spear like that but meh.IC: Onyx (Main Village Area)Zenix's voice clearly stated that his spear had proven ineffective, which was a disappointment but not unexpected. In response to his challenge, Onyx repeated his previous attack, only with a cannonball this time. While that would buy him a second or two, he circled around the fire until his opponent came into view. The Fe-Toa himself however was almost imperceptible standing so close to the sinister flames, his black frame combined with the dark of the night and absorption of light allowing him to blend in with his surroundings if one didn't look too closely. Onyx stood with his war hammer raised while the fire behind him died quickly, not making any effort to move forward. If Makuta's legionnaire wanted an up close and personal fight, he'd have to come get it.

  • IC (Avya)I tightened my grip on my sword as a light rain began to fall. This Hiemalis wasn't going to elude me this time. He'd caused enough damage in Ta-Koro; I wouldn't let him enact whatever evil plans he had for Pala-Koro.But, as I prepared to go after the Toa of Ice, who was now engaging another member of the ILF, something just outside the fallen walls caught my eye:Hasil. He was fighting a monster.IC (Bartan)The Skakdi roared as he charged Hasil, his weapons held high, jaws agape and dripping with bloody saliva. His red eyes gleamed in rage and battle-frenzy as he fired another explosive zamor at his opponent. The projectile whistled through the air, moving at incredible speeds, made that much harder to dodge by the fact that Hasil was running towards it, giving him even less time to react. But, somehow, he did.The Toa leaped, higher than Bartan would have thought possible, and barely cleared the speeding sphere, which has been aimed at his lower chest. The projectile flew underneath him, and exploded against one of the few remaining bits of Pala-Koro's wall that still stood. The piece of wall, already weakened by the blasts, crumbled under the onslaught of fire and energy, becoming nothing more than rubble.Hasil turned his leap into an attack, swinging his blade down upon the charging Skakdi as he fell through the air. Bartan blocked the strike with ease, the clang of metal echoing across the ruins as the Toa's sword met the Skakdi's mace.Even with gravity giving him a boost in force, Hasil couldn't match Bartan for sheer brute strength. With a snarl, he pushed his mace right through Hasil's attack, sending the Toa stumbling backwards. The battle-crazed Skakdi followed up with a mighty swing, his blunt mace whistling through the air at such a speed that even Hasil could hardly dodge it in time. He turned his stumble into a backwards roll, falling and getting back to his feet swiftly and gracefully, and at the same time evading Bartan's potentially fatal blow. But the Skakdi wasn't done. His first swing missing, he swung a backhanded blow even as he advanced upon the Toa. Hasil was forced to continue moving backwards, ducking to avoid the mighty swings that threatened to take his head off should one make contact.Hasil was in trouble. That much was obvious. The monstrous Skakdi was keeping him on the defensive, and if Hasil was even a bit too slow... I shuddered to think of what the Skakdi's weapon would do if it hit its target.I looked back at Hiemalis; the Toa of Ice was moving deeper into the village. This was my chance; I could get revenge for the souls he'd murdered in Ta-Koro, or I could help Hasil. For a moment, I was paralyzed with indecision. Then I saw Hasil fall backwards, only just managing to turn his stumble into a roll and getting back to his feet. That did it. He needed help; I wasn't going to let him die for the sake of revenge. I would meet Hiemalis another day; I was sure of it.Leaving Esao with Nova, I began running towards Hasil. I jumped over several sections of rubble where the wall had collapsed, and managed to make it outside the perimeter of the village. The grass was slick with the rain that was now falling steadily, but I managed to keep my feet, staying on course for the duelling pair.Bartan roared with frustration; he was keeping his opponent on the defensive, ducking and rolling and unable to get a blow in, but he was unable to finish him off. Hasil was too quick; he was able to evade all of Bartan's blows, even though most of the time he only barely did it in time to keep himself alive. All Bartan could do was keep swinging and hope that the Toa would make a mistake. All it would take would be one mistake, and this battle would be over. Then, the mistake came. Instead of swinging back and forth like he had done, Bartan swung his mace in a circle above his head once before bringing it down in a diagonal strike. The unpredictable strike seemed to throw Hasil off for a moment, and he made a clumsier dodge than usual (though still graceful by most standards), stumbling a bit as he jumped out of the way.Bartan used the opportunity of a split second of unsteadiness to launch a blast of impact vision at the Toa.I watched in horror as the Skakdi blasted Hasil backwards, sending the Toa flying through the air to land heavily on the ground. I increased my pace, running as fast as I could to get to him before the Skakdi did. With a howl of victory, Bartan advanced upon Hasil, bringing his mace up for the final, fatal strike. Hasil scrabbled for his sword, which lay inches from his hand, but he didn't have enough time to grab and raise it before the Skakdi's blow fell. With a shout, hoping to distract the brute, I leaped through the air and swung my sword with all my might. The blade sliced into the Skakdi's shoulder.Bartan roared in pain and surprise as an icy agony erupted in his shoulder. He turned to try and get a lock on this new threat, but his momentum was already carrying him towards Hasil, and the prone Toa used this to his advantage. The split second of extra time was all he needed to finally wrap his fingers around his sword and bring it up in time to gore the Skakdi in the side.I raised my sword in preparation to defend myself, but the Skakdi suddenly gave another scream of pain, and I saw a sword poke through his side, wielded by Hasil, who lay behind him.Bartan fell hard to the ground, landing half on top of Hasil; this only served to impale himself even further on the cold steel, though the Toa's arm was now pinned underneath him. He was still awake and live though, and with a growl, he raised his free arm, hoping to club Hasil a few times before he lost consciousness.I advanced upon the Skakdi, and as he growled and raised his club in some vain attempt to attack once more, even when wounded, I leaned over and clubbed him over the head with the hilt of my sword.Through blurry eyes, Bartan saw a gold and white being walk up to him, like some god come to earth. He snarled weakly, and raised his arm. Then an explosion of red and yellow pain erupted in his temple, and everything went black. The Skakdi's eyes swivelled up, and I watched as he went limp, his arm falling to the ground, the mace rolling out of his fingers.I stood there, breathing hard, then dropped my bloodied sword and began to pull the unconscious Skakdi off of a stunned Hasil.

  • IC: AckuneWhen the energy from his armor suddenly disappeared, Ackune took the opportunity to release the energy he had stored up into a powerful beam of both heat and flame shot and consentrated by his warhammer. Hopefully, Ira would be too busy focusing on using his elemental power to dodge. In addition, the elemental beam might disrupt Ira's attack, possibly saving Ackune's Kanohi. With said Kanohi, Ackune saw something that Ira wasn't able to, and the blind Toa of Fire smiled under his Arthron.

He nodded his thanks to Avya, before he raised up his sword, prepared to decapitate the dead Skakdi. But first, he turned to Avya."Do you wish to do this instead?" he asked. "You saved me, and so I am honour bound to let you take the kill if you wish."

  • IC: Ira"Umph!" Flames struck Ira and he was sent flying back. Fighting hard to concentrate, he felt his hold on Ackune's kanohi falter but he tightened it again. Ackune's attack had only saved his kanohi for a few seconds. Even as he drained the heat from his enemy's mask, he also began to drain the entire area around him, chilling every inch of air and ground, and restoring his armor temperature back to normal. Heat began to become stored up inside of him, desperately waiting to be released. He had thought back to the day in Iegasa's hut when he had thought of the need for a master move. Well, during every step of the way here, he had contemplated it, run it over again and again in his mind, modified it, tweaked it, and polished it, until he was certain that it would work. "Now would be a good time to release it,' he thought to himself.OOC: Does fire appear on sonar?

Silently he sprung forwards, one of the blades on the end of the staff aimed to punch into the spine of the Toa of Fire that Pala-Koro's resident smith was fighting, a debilitating strike.OOC: He's attacking Ira, in case that ain't clear.

When both weapons came into close proximity, Onyx violently lifted his weapon into the air, blocking the attack while flinging Zenix's arms up high and disrupting his momentum at the same time, leaving him open to attack. The Toa of iron proceeded by kicking towards the abdomen with the strength to knock the average person several feet away.

  • OOC: Hey, mind responding to that attack right thar? As well, I doubt you can realistically do that with a Toa of Fire. You can't just absorb everything all at once like that.IC-Kal:"By the way, Ackune, I wouldn't mind if you heated this place up," Kal said, shivering slightly.
    OOC: I'M EATING DINNER!

OOC: Don't worry, I noticed. I ninja'd you both with a post and with an edit. As well, if you can come in here to post about eating dinner....why can't you edit your earlier post?IC-Kal:Kal continued to stand his watch.

  • IC- Verak - South of Pala Koro WallsVerak didn't reply. He let Ankt have his opinion, but Verak had no room to house grudges or prejudices. He didn't hold on to ideas like that. He lived in the moment, and he would do his best to never let some event in the past influence his decisions. That just got frustrating.Another explosion rocked the night sky and the HQ went up in flames. Even from this distance, Verak could see the pieces of rubble and shrapnel fly into the sky. he wondered when Pala-Koro would stop exploding, then wondered why it was doing so.It didn't matter, he reminded himself. Verak didn't like to pause and think. There was a reason, a very, very important reason, but he didn't even acknowledge it. If he did, spent even a half second dwelling on the reason, he'd remember it. That was bad."So, brother. I'm gonna get a little closer the the action. Just spectatin', so ye don't need to worry about any Makuta followers runin' yer vibe or whatever." he swaggered closer to the fires of Pala Koro, pushing through the heavy rain.

  • IC: Reordin (Wanderer's Company Base Camp, Le-Wahi Swamp)"Reordin. Reordin. Reordin! Wake up, you lazy little snowcone--""I'm awaaaake!"Reordin sat up, grumbling an obscene word in the birdspeak Turaga Nuju had been so renowned for using throughout his tenure as leader of Ko-Koro, and took a second to rub his eyes before looking at the blurry figure before him. Slowly, as though he was staring through a pane thick with fog and smoke, he blinked once or twice: lines and colors slowly became more pronounced, and the Sanctum Guard's deep blue gaze fixed onto Leah, arms crossed, foot tapping impatiently, and a sharp smirk slicing down her face."My turn for watch?" he asked; Leah didn't answer, merely lifted the pillow up from Reordin's hammock and beat him upside the head with it until he was outside of the dwelling. He could hear Oreius in Stannis' wigwam, asking him politely and quietly how he had slept, telling him that it was his turn to take watch and that dawn was fast approaching, and the Ko-Matoran turned back indignantly towards the female Chosen One."Why couldn't you have been more like him?"Leah's reply was another pillow to the face before Reordin turned, grumbling more curses, and began brewing a pot of coffee and waiting for Stannis to come out.-Teezy

  • IC (Avya)A whirlwind of blood a violence. Men and women clashing with swords and powers, staining the sand red.A Toa kneels before another, his hands bound behind his back, his mask gone."This is Xan, their leader," someone says. "He deserves death."The standing Toa shakes his head, the sun's golden rays reflecting from his silver mask."No. We are Toa; we do not kill. That is Mata Nui"'s place, not ours. The memory hit me like a punch, knocking the breaht out of me. It had been so long since I'd last unlocked a piece of my past... and now I knew a little more. But the little I had seen unleashed a barrage of new questions. The silver-masked Toa... who was he? The Toa -Xan- kneeling before him- what had happened? Where had the battle I'd seen taken place?I didn't know any of this, but the memory had reminded me of one thing I had forgotten: the Toa Code.A code of honour that bound heroes to fight without killing, to deal justice with mercy.True Toa followed the Code. I remembered now.I placed a hand on Hasil's arm. "No. Toa don't kill."Hasil looked at me oddly, as though I'd spoken words that made no sense, but he slowly lowered his sword.I gestured towards the village. "We have bigger fish to fry. Hiemalis is here."As if an cue, an explosion rocked Pala-Koro.

  • IC-Hasil:Hasil looked oddly at Avya for a moment, before his sword came down. And away from Bartan. He had raised an eyebrow, looking at the Toa of Plasma before him with a curious expression."You have strange honour," he replied. "But if that is so...he is the one who attacked the medical home in Ta-Koro, no?"
