IC: Esao (Pala-Koro)As Nova snapped himself out of it and Avya and Hasil went after Hiemalis, Esao was hot on their heels, aiming to try and provide them archer cover from a rooftop, he caught sight of a familiar Skakdi, brown and massive and powerful, wielding a variety of weapons that he seemed to wield with an interchangeability provided only by proficiency. Esao recognized him instantly: it was the same Skakdi who, so long ago, had been hired out to help support the terrorist attack.More importantly, he'd taken Flyssa. Forever. Gone. In an uncontrollable, sudden upshot of grief, Esao drew his bow and conjured a single arrow of fire, letting it fly; the bowstring shivered in anticipation as the arrow found its mark in the back of the Skakdi's kneecap, causing a buckling of Yolof's immense weight and forcing him to the ground, roaring in agony. Esao didn't even bother with a Volitak, advancing towards him with all the fury that befit an enforcer of the Toa of Fire's status. A glimmer of fear hit the Skakdi's eyes as the archer drew ever-closer, spinning his kukri expertly around his hands."You killed my girl.""I've killed a lot of people's girls, tough guy. What's your point?"Yolof got Esao's point very suddenly, coupled with a twitch of the kukri so that the large, ornamental amethyst on the hilt jammed itself into the Skakdi's eye socket. A roar of pain cut through the air, silenced as the blade slid in between the mercenary's teeth and held there. Yolof stared up with one eye, full of hatred and pain and a bit of fear."What do you plan on doing? Killing me?" Yolof growled through a mouth unable to close with the kukri inside it. "Hmm?"For a second, Esao thought about saying no, thought about letting the public deal with him, thought about maybe just hanging this guy upside down from a cliff and letting the water wash over his head at high tide every day so that he came within a hair's length of drowning twice a day as blood rushed to his head and his body parts slowly atrophied unless he got really lucky and someone found him. But then he imagined Flyssa, sweet and beautiful and musical Flyssa, running to help him in a fight he knew he could fight without her, and he imagined Yolof's blade sliding through her neck like it was butter, thought about those spring green eyes as they stared up at him helplessly, severed from the rest of her body...Esao pushed the kukri back slowly, violet eyes closed to avoid the flow of tears, and didn't stop pushing until the screams stopped coming.-Teezy
OOC:
IC: Zunod raised one vined eyebrow in response. Had it not been for the fact that he was currently in the middle of battle, the mercenary would've been scratching his head. A vortixx was charging him without using either of her pieces of technology. He had to admit she had guts.He frowned slightly at that thought. It couldn't be just guts. No one would do something that seemingly stupid without a plan. That in mind, he opted for a probing retreat. He didn't want to extend his element or vision in large attacks against those odds.Zunod stepped back. Slowed as he was by his two layers of armor, he still gained a small window of time. That window was enough to bring around his zamor launcher and fire its last projectile at his foe. If she took to her acrobatics again to dodge, he'd change his hammer's haft to match the distance between him and her and swing.Aexias absorbed her constructs and sheathed her swords. Precisely letting loose lasers to cauterize her new wounds, the skakdi took the Ve-Toa in her arms. She cradled him in a bridal carry.Examining Zunod's fight, she noted the enemy was not downed. Perhaps the body of her friend would do the trick. "Fortixx!," She called, holding the body of Dendron aloft as her eyes glowed with threatening vision blasts. "Your ally is defeatet. Surrender."The Vortixx let out a momentary cry of alarm as the Skakdi of Plantlife used his power on his own weapon, the head of the maul shooting out towards her stomach. There wasn't time to dodge, so Kythera did her best to lessen the impact by letting the force carry her away from the Skakdi, instead of trying to fight it. Still, the sheer force from the blow dented her grey armor and had her gasping for breath. Nothing seemed to be broken... Well, nothing that she could tell now.Kythera's mind raced. Never before had she seen a Skakdi with that level of elemental control, it was easily on par or above that of a Toa, quite high for a being who only got the power granted to them sparringly. There wasn't much she could do to counter it, as she had to wait a bit before her pistol would fire again, and her second one was still forsen solid. But then again... His plant armor wasn't perfect, Kythera's keen eyes could already see gaps where the plants didn't cover him quite as much. If she could get in close, then her dagger and wrist blade could be put to good use...That thought in mind, Kythera lunged forward again, this time prepared for any elemental attacks the Skakdi might make against her. Once she got close enough, her dagger would do the rest.
IC: Tarnok"And what would that be, sir?"
IC-Iulius:"You'll see."
IC: Tarnok"Is it possible to wring a straight answer out of you?"
OOC: *Lets go of seat*IC: KytheraWhile Kythera expected the Skakdi to back up, atleast a bit, it did little to help her actaully counter it. The grey-armored Xian did her best to avoid the solid sphere of metal, but there was a point where even her amazing physical abilities wouldn't cut it. They did help though, saving her from a much more devastating wound as she angled herself to the right a bit. The sphere glanced off her back armor, leaving a considerable dent and causing quite a lot of pain, but the shallow angle of its hit lessened impact somewhat.Well, it was better then getting hit head-on with it. Unable to continue on with her sprint forward, Kythera turned it into a dive, as she rolled under the Skakdi's swinging warhammer. Coming up a ways from the Ve-Skakdi, and only then grasped the situation. Dendron had been defeated, carried like a child in the Skakdi of Ice's arms. Kythera would have tried rescuing him, but she was battered, wounded, and had only half of her weapons functional. That, and her chest wound had reopened, and the painkillers were beginning to wear off. Glancing between the two Skakdi, Kythera knew it a fight she couldn't win.But she couldn't surrender, either, having no idea how these two treated prisoners. And so she did the only thing she could do, the third option: run. And she did, running away from the two as fast as her legs would carry her, leaping over objects in her path and prepared to dodge any vision or elemental blasts sent after her. Fighting and dying would help no one, and surrendering may be even worse.
IC-Iulius:"Quite possibly," Iulius replied.
IC: Tarnok"Respectfully, sir, I cannot fulfill a mission unless I know what it is." Tarnok said calmly, continuing to follow Iulius. "And unless I know what it is, I cannot properly prepare for it."
IC-Iulius:"You aren't supposed to prepare, because preparation won't help you."
IC: Tarnok"You didn't address the first half of my statement."
IC-Iulius:"I thought it was obvious that you would be learning what the mission is when I tell you, in Ko-Wahi, no earlier and no later," Iulius replied, looking back at Tarnok. "Apparently not. Forgive me."
IC: Tarnok"Yes sir." Tarnok replied, restraining his annoyance. He had very few standards for his commanding officers, and most of them were simple. One of them was keeping their subordinates in the loop as much as possible. Many good lives had been lost because commanders held back information. Not to mention, it was simply disrespectful to do so.
IC-Iulius:"I can hear your tone, Tarnok," Iulius said after a moment. "You aren't doing as well as you think at holding back your annoyance." He sighed."Just know that I have already planned out what I need to do, and what I'll need you to do. It is simply not advantageous for you to know about what I need you to do as of yet, because that would tip the balance out of our favour."
IC: Tarnok"Yes sir."The Onu-Matoran wasn't going to bother asking any more questions. He clearly wasn't getting any answers.
OOC: Yeah, I had a talk with Nuju. He said I could reheal Aurum (After an ordeal), but over time. Well, its been quite some time since that, so right now, he's tired, but not out. That, and remember that there is still debris from the gate that people can absorb. As for Aurum, he's really just hiding, so I don't see why he cannot absorb it.@Norik, I don't think flipping backwards can cause you to dodge a spike when there are quite a few others coming from his back.IC: AurumPersonality change or not, Deven was still stuck inside a cocoon with spikes embedded in him.And to deal with the Kane-Ra charge, an illusion of himself was cast standing, while another was cast on his body, camouflaging him in the colors of the night.
OOC:OOC:You have permission to seriously injure him, but not kill him. Have fun Wotz
OOC: Not sure if any of the ice fragments are big enough for this attack, but I'll assume that one or three of them areIC: Kethrye [Near the Hole in the Wall]~
IC: Zunod let loose some heat vision at the retreating vortixx. As expected, she dodged each blast. He shrugged and was about to follow when he heard something whistling through the air towards him. He turned. It was Dendron's body. He dropped his hammer and projectile launcher, catching the unconscious toa in his vined arms. "Keep up ze fire," Aexias hissed. "Ve'll deal viz him later."She drew her swords and skittered after the vortixx. She was naturally faster than most races. But this vortixx had longer legs and more experience in flashy acrobatics besides. Over such rough terrain, Aexias was slowed to about the pace of the one she pursued. At that rate, she wouldn't be capable of catching up.So Aexias went for hindering her opponent. Before the vortixx' next leap over a piece of rubble, she littered the ground behind it with a small series of ice spikes. A jump would impale the vortixx. A leap might catch her in a blast of heat vision. And to circumvent the rubble, she'd be forced to give enough ground to her pursuer that the mercenary could catch up and start stabbing. Aexias would cut off as many options for her foe as she could.
IC: SulkuaSulkua turned and used the last of the Ice Shield to block the spikes from behind. The shield shattered and thespikes were either stopped straight or had been thrown off course. Sulkua turned to see more spikes...IC: Kiron...and Kiron enlarged in time to incinerated most of them. Kiron used his Scimitar to deflect the last two, but one more sliced open Sulkua's rib armour. The Kane-Ra barrelled into the illusionary Aurum and demolished some of the Pala-Korowallbehind Aurum.OOC: Jl, is Aurum perfectly camouflaged or just colour-coordinated?
OOC: I can't help but notice that the HQ exploding post has not been edited. I find this both annoying and distressing. Blow it up if you will, but don't do it like that. Final say from me on that matter, and one I will not budge from.IC: Madrihk [Pala-Koro battle]The Toa of Ice had stood by the ruins of the outer wall, trying to find out what to do in the middle of the conflict. His forces was scattered; shouting for them would only bring unwanted attention. He would have to gather them on foot. Then he noticed someone he definitely knew: Vompran, one of the ILF deputies. Unfortunately, he was not noticed until he had already been forcefully amputated by some Toa in rusted armor. Judging by appearances Kuhrin might be infected by Makuta and thus not in control of himself, but Madrihk found that he didn't particularly care. One of his trusted accomplices had been cut down, and thus retaliation was in order. He found himself wishing that Vompran had managed to take a toll on his attacker before he went down, for that would make things so much easier. Taking aim with his left hand, he summoned a swirl of elemental energy which he hurled in front of the moving Kuhrin, intending to make him trip on the ice-coated ground. Once that happened, he thought, a swift sword strike would give him an injury matching Vompran's.OOC: Madrihk throwing ice targeting Kuhrin's feet.
OOC: He's just pretty black with probably specks of green.IC: AurumAurum climbed onto a tree, still camouflaged.OOC: And I HATE the AC3 ending. Not sure why I said it here, but I need to let the annoying stuff go.
IC: KytheraThe Vortixx ran like she never had before, sliding around hyphens of pure heat, Kythera made to jump over a pile of rubble. Only to see the area grow a patch if razor-sharp ice spikes. To go around meant loosing ground, something she couldn't afford to, so she took the only option aviable. But if she was wrong, and her timing was off, then running wouldn't be an option.Kythera jumped over the rubble, whipping around her pistol while pulling the trigger. There was a click, but nothing happened; the piece of technnology had yet to recharge. However, a trigger pull a split second later yielded results, as the blue bolt shot out towards the ice spikes. The bolt cleared an area just big enough for her to land. Kythera placed her foot in the spot as she landed, gaining a cut across her leg from the sharp spikes she didn't managed to clear away. Her momentum allowed her to jump again and clear the rest of the spikes. At the top of her second jump, a single beam of heat vision caught her on her shoulder, partially melting the armor there and leaving a large burn. But Kythera just kept on going, landing lightly despite her injuries. By now, she had cleared a bit of distance between her and her attacker, hopefully enough to make vision and elemental blasts less accurate.OOC Just like to say now that I'm thoroughly enjoying this fight. ![]()
OOC In a desperate attempt to be credit not the team, Ira and Skaaraa are here to save KuhrinIC IraThe black toa of fire ran in between the huts of Pala-Koro, his pursuers not far behind. He needed help, and help fast. Breaking out into the clearing, he saw many ILF members fighting his fellow FoM. Then, he saw something which caught his eye. "The ILF leader..." he thought. Seeing one of his allies in the sky, he called Skaaraa down and said to him "Play with that toa of ice's gravity; I'll flank him. Maybe we can get him down before we lose Kuhrin." Skaaraa nodded and flew off. Ira activated his volitak and made a mad dash for the jungle.
OOC: He doesn't really need saving, but help is help I guess
IC: KuhrinA flash of white, and suddenly Kuhrin found himself sliding along the now-icy ground instead of jogging. He didn't manage to steady himself and fell on to his front, opting to toboggan the rest of the trip on to normal ground, where he rolled back into a standing position. His eyes darted around in search of the ice's source, and came to rest on a black and white Toa with a Kakama. Another Makuta-aligned warrior flying towards the Toa confirmed Kuhrin's suspicions, and he drew his shield. He raised his sword into the air and began to gather sound from around him, in the process allowing his ears to relax thanks to the muffled effect everything now had. When a sufficient amount of energy had been gathered, he pointed his weapon at Madrihk and unleashed a constant beam of elemental sound energy capable of sending someone flying (aside from the usual deafening assault to their ears) at him.
IC: with a roar, Deven punched an arm through the iron. Aurum hadn't reinforced where the blade had chewed out, and the freezing made it brittle. That combination, when added to the rage strength Deven had currently, let his arm go through. Sure, he would have the worst hangover ever after the rage was through, but survival was worth it. He wrenched the iron far enough open to get out, and stood growling at aurum, bleeding from holes everywhere. He fell from lack of blood, his staff retracting into his armor. OOC: in other words, no one can get the staff. No one. Without ripping Deven in half, which you DO NOT have permission to do.
IC-Iulius:"Perk up, Tarnok. You're getting away from that fool Arkom, heading off to actually do something important and fun at the same time," Iulius said brightly, turning his head back to the path."What's not to like about that? You, your ussal, your various assorted weapons...it's a great time for an adventure!"
IC: Tarnok"That last time I went on an adventure, everything went to karzahni." Tarnok replied bluntle.
IC-Iulius:"They're supposed to do that, if they're serious adventures. Not if they're just, y'know, one day camping trips."
IC: MadrihkSeeing a blade being lowered towards him, Madrihk recognized the tell-tale signs of an incoming elemental attack and dashed to the side, intending to throw off his opponent's aim. It worked, but not quite, and the hand clutching his serrated sword was suddenly slammed with an invisible force rippling through the air. His mechanical fingers clenched, but failed to perform enough under stress, and the Toa of Ice lost the grip on his weapon. It spun through the air and embedded itself somewhere in the soil nearby. Madrihk did not have time to look for it, as he stumbled, skidded to a halt, and threw his arm up to manipulate the nearby cold. The effect of his previous attack was still present, a thin layer of frost covering a strip of ground near Kuhrin's location. Now the ice shivered and grew, elemental energy being used to create a white arm reaching for the Toa of Sonics. It would get blocked, of course, but Madrihk hoped to at least tear the shield from his enemy's hand by making it too heavy to carry.IC: Kuhrin
IC: Kethrye [battling Desuka]~Fighting fire with fire? That always works. Kethrye thought, absorbing the icy projectiles and using them to replenish his elemental energy. Disarmed and alone, he would need any last vestment of power he could muster if he planned and coming at from this "duel", if you could call it even that, alive . Now, the counter attack. He rose his hand above him and summoned his control of ice, forming a functional, if rough and simplistic, long sword from solid ice. The blade's composition was compacted enough that it could take a reasonable amount of punishment, although it was hardly as strong as anything forged of metal, and would probably break assuming enough pressure was applied to it faster then he could burn energy to keep it intact. This will do for now, hHolding fast to the makeshift longsword's hilt, he made a step to the right immediately prior to when the charging beast would have collided with him, striking Desuka with the blade as he passed. The ice hand shattered and crumbled before the beast's superior strength, and it howled in victory, before kicking one at Kethrye, then throwing two more. As the chunks of ice flew, it sprinted on all fours to the same destination, looking more like a big dog than ever (if big dogs had big pointy spines and pitch black eyes).
IC: IraUsing his volitak, Ira had managed to sneak past Madrhik and Kuhrin were fighting. Lying in wait behind Madrihk, he waited. If Kuhrin happened to stumble, Ira would be there to finish this toa of ice off. Surprisingly, Kal and Ackune hadn't spotted him here.IC: SkaaraaTIme for some shenanigans. Shapeshifting into Kuhrin's form, he silently crept behind the ILF leader and drew his sword...IC: Terzak"Are you alright?" Terzak asked. "You still can fight?"
IC-Kal:Or so Ira hoped. His position, compared to where Kal was now, played him in stark contrast against Madrihk's white and grey armour. Kal could see that it was somewhat mottled, and all in the shape of one Toa, the Toa he wanted. Checking the grass to make sure, and seeing the footprints, Kal smiled. He, after all, was using his Huna. He was even more invisible than Ira was. And he didn't let that advantage go as he stabbed towards the Toa of Fire with his Rahkshi staff.
IC: TarnokTarnok didn't respond, instead continuing to walk. He had nothing more to say.
IC: KuhrinRaising an eyebrow, Kuhrin directed his beam at the hand of the arm, forcing it to reel back. Before his eyes, the structural integrity of the arm began to weaken, cracks began to form and parts began to break off. To finish off, he deactivated the beam and smashed the ice-arm in one sword stroke, before turning to face Madrihk once again. The sword. The Toa of ice was evidently going to go for it, and Kuhrin would not allow that to happen. He put his shield away and raised his left hand, willing the sonic vibrations heading for Madrihk's ears to increase in volume a thousandfold, with the intention of stunning him long enough for Kuhrin to get to him and manually prevent him from reaching the sword.IC: DesukaReceiving a slash down its side, the creature skidded to a halt, growling in pain. It came back up on to its hind legs and examined the deep cut curiously. If it was so strong, how could it take damage so easily? A small trickle of blood trailed out and down to the monster's hip. It could bleed; it could be killed. With this new realisation in mind, it turned to face Kethrye, circling him and waiting for the Toa of ice to make the next move.
OOC: Same.IC: Aexias noted the pistol was usable with caution. Her limited supply of elemental energy, an amount she had set aside for this battle, was running low. Worse still, the vortixx' injuries were apparently not enough to stop her flight. One of her tricks wouldn't work again. The mercenaries were invested enough in incapacitating this vortixx that giving up now wasn't an option. So they had to beat her through the numerous disadvantages. But what could she capitalize on? Those injuries, small as they were right now, unconsciously shifted the vortixx' stance to make it weaker. It was only instinctive to put less weight on a cut leg. The injured enemy, thinking consciously about dodging pursuit, did little to change that. That foot trailed slightly behind in each leap. That was where she would attack.Aexias focused ice power into her sword as she skittered. Then she aimed as accurately as she could given the meters between her and her pursuit. Blue solid flew from it in a thin beam, trying to ice the would-be escapee's leg and foot to cripple her with the weight of a frozen appendage. Heat vision blasted past again, more poorly aimed but no less dangerous to the vortixx. OOC: EDIT: Did I ever say that they aren't interested in capturing Kythera as well? Because they aren't. XP Unless if doing so would have major benefits, of course.
IC: MadrihkThe sound levels had suddenly increased, threatening to cripple Madrihk with a splitting headache and loss of balance. He had made the mistake of stopping. He had expected the ice to at least provide a distraction. He ran once more, tearing his head free from the stream of vibrations in the process. He did not go for his blade. In fact, he did not even know where his blade was at the moment. Instead, he went in a circular motion, knowing that Kuhrin would track him and keep his guard up.The Toa of Ice summoned his element once more, once again focusing upon the remains of his previous attack in order to conserve energy for what was surely to be a long night. The tiny shards left of the ice mass suddenly shot upwards, in an effort to spike Kuhrin's legs and abdomen from an angle he could no shield so easily.
IC: IraFortunately, what the Volitak lacks in invisibility, it makes up for by dampening sound. Kal's huna couldn't do that, so Ira had heard him from long off. So when Kal was just about to stab him, he took off in a run. Breaking from the tree line, he deactivated his volitak and cloaked himself with flames. "Time for Madrihk to go to his grave..." he thought as he charged. Then he saw the ice spikes. "This sin't good," Ira thought. He reached out with his elemental power and heated up the ice.IC: Skaaraa (Disguised as Kuhrin)While Kuhrin was making Madrihk's ears ring and Ira was doing some sort of charge, Skaaraa, still disguised as Kuhrin, decided not to go for the finisher right then and there. instead, he decided to do the ultimate mocking move. Disguised as Kuhrin, he tapped Madrihk's shoulder. "Hey there bozo," he said smugly before slashing downwards.
IC: KuhrinAt the first prick into the sole of his foot, Kuhrin leapt comically into the air in surprise, trying to keep his feet away from the ice spikes suddenly appearing out of the ground. He had no idea where they were going to come up next, and found himself lifting his knees up high in a rather odd escape movement. In a fantastic stroke of luck, none of the spikes completely impaled his feet, but he certainly received a lot of deep and painful cuts which made it painful to walk, let alone run. Thankfully the ice began to warm up and soften, making the spikes blunt. Evidently this was the work of one of his fellow warriors.Kuhrin ran (or at least tried to, it was more of a very fast limp) towards Madrihk, vowing not to allow this one any more attacks like that one. To his surprise, what appeared to be his spitting image was approaching the same guy from behind. The more the merrier, he thought. He drew his shield once more, and attempted to slash with his sword across his enemy's chest.
IC-Kal:That didn't quite matter, though, now that Ira was completely visible once again, flame all about him. Kal, meanwhile, was not visible, and was taking care to move much quieter now.Until, of course, he grabbed the discarded spear of a Ta-Matoran who had been at the wall, launching it like a javelin straight for Ira.Meanwhile, that Ta-Matoran, Kemati, was lying on the ground a ways away, his Ussal nearby, heading off into the woods, away from its now-dead master. And a hulking shape appeared to walk out of the shadows near it.OOC: Characters who have been here but have had nothing done with them. So useful.
IC: IraIra heard sound behind him. He turned to look and saw a javelin headed straight for his face. He only blocked it just in time. He created. Wave of fire to sweep the area; if Kal was using his Huna, he would show up.
OOC: ...Dark place, Ira is lit up like a beacon, which would likely mess horribly with his eyesight, what with it being so close to him, and....he can summon flames all around Kal when by all means he shouldn't be able to see Kal.Whatevs, I can roll with it.IC-Kal:The thing Ira seemed to forget was that the flame wouldn't automatically result in anything worse than a first degree burn, barely a sunburn-assuming it even was heating them long enough to burn, and assuming the person jumped out of them in time. And especially if that person was already moving. Like Kal was.As he ran his first few steps, right when the flames were formed, he dropped his concentration on his mask, running through the flames without suffering any effect other than feeling slightly warmer than usual as he bounded towards the bright flaming Toa before him, swinging the Rahkshi staff in a direct line to lop off Ira's head.
