IC: Dehkaz"Well, I suppose that depends," the Toa of Magnetism replied, twirrling one of his knives around. "What do you want to ma'am?""Although, I've got Dekal hanging up "crew wanted" posters, we could go check on him."IC: OnuzekThe massive Toa waited outside along with Skyra, mainly because the Ba-Toa had no idea what else to do. Angry-New-Ta-Toa had went inside the hut, along with some other beings, but Onuzek didn't quite care.
IC: [Naona]"Sounds like a plan. Say, could you stop by Po-Koro later on to ferry the Guard back?"
IC (Lohkar)Lohkar wheeled around."Apologies, miss," he said. "Allow me to reintroduce meself. I'm Lohkar, Captain o' the Infernavika. An' who might you be? I don't recall any pretty faces on board me ship..."The Lesterin flashed a roguish smile.
IC: Dehkaz"No problem, ma'am," Dehkaz said, shrugging. The gunmetal armored Toa just hoped that his first mate managed to get atleast some crew by the time they were ready."Alright, then, Dekal said he'd be in the Darksea Inn, which I have no idea where that is. Karz, I don't even know if he put the posters up."
IC: Lasinia"I thought Captain Skakdi was captain."IC: [Naona]"I see."
IC (Lohkar)"Raknar?" replied Lohkar with a chuckle. "Oh no. Raknar was just takin' care o' me ship for me, weren't you, Raknar?"Lohkar looked cunningly at his once-First Mate."Oh, maybe he said 'e was Captain. But you were always First Mate, really, weren't ya? That ship could never work without me. Speakin' of which - "Lohkar laid his hand lazily on the pommel of his cutlass." - I should really stop havin' Skakdi First Mates. Never goes well, does it?"
IC: DehkazThe Toa of Magnetism stopped, and glanced at Naona, giving the Po-Toa a weak grin. "Sorry about the ranting, ma'am."With that, Dehkaz started toward the center of the Koro, searching for the inn.
IC: Dorian (Ga-Koro)My Mark was glowing a blinding blue from underneath my destroyed armor, my silk t-shirt was torn at the sleeves, and boy howdy, I was Peeeeeeeeeeee Oh'd. Not at the fact that I was losing: no, from the second she'd gotten away from my prison, she'd had the upper hand, and I knew it and accepted it. No, I was angry because she was trying to actually play me at my own game, trying to turn me into a conquest in the middle of a fight. She had that walk: I knew it was that walk because it was one I'd done myself many, many times before, and it was the kind of walk that would have made me melt inside if the right person had done it. Anthyn, needless to say, was not the right person.I didn't dignify her challenge with a response, nearly hefted myself up again and took a deep breath or two; my eyes shone like cyan stars, my tattoo a beacon of iridescent glory, and as I cracked my knuckles, I examined the space where her wings would be. And I moved. Faster, harder, more powerfully than Anthyn had anticipated, I sprinted to the right in a Mark-fueled rush and whipped out a throwing axe; a slight whip of my hand, and it was flying right towards the base of Anthyn's cloaked left wing, moving at a speed that no weapon had any business moving at.-Teezy
IC-Skeldan:Well, now, apparently, Skeldan was no longer a bard but a ninja, a master of stealth and being unseen, even when he appeared to be in plain sight. He hunched over slightly, bringing his hands up as though he were ready to enact some super-powerful martial arts upon some odd person, but he laughed, following behind Merror. He stood, watching as Cael gave her ministrations unto Merror, taking note of what she did and what she used. It would be useful knowledge to have."I agree with your sentiment, Merror," he said to the Toa of Fire. "Sometimes it is more important to set them upon the path than it is to guide them down it."
IC (Merror)Merror looked up at the Toa, and smiled slightly. It cheered him a little to see the Toa of Ice's antics...especially given the stereotypical lack of humour displayed by most Toa of that element."Thank you, friend," he said. "I...appreciate your words."
IC: IraA cloaked Toa of Fire entered Ga-Wahi. The toa's armor was nearly all black thanks to an armor recoloration and he carried a flaming sword instead of an axe in his hand. He walked into Ga-Koro, his face obscured by his cloak.OOC: Open for interaction
IC-Skeldan:"Never a problem," he replied quietly. "It just seems to me that people try to often to be guides, when the one being guided is moving down a different path entirely." He shrugged, finding his own spot to sit down as he watched what would happen.
IC (Merror)"True words," Merror said. "I wish I could guide him properly...but it is better this way. I can't...I won't put him in danger."
IC: Kitsune & Co, Ga-Koro"You had the idea, you get first turn." Raion said, and then, deciding not to wait for a response, leaned back and fell asleep. Briani scooted away from the snoring Onu-Toa, putting as much distance between the drooling being and herself as the couch allowed. If there were other furniture, open she would have moved.IC: Tawara (Briani's Hut)"Well, I guess our best bet is to just wait for the killer to come after us or get bored and leave. We should take turns keeping watch for assassins while the others sleep." Tawara turned back to her book.
IC, Aurax: Aurax tipped his coconut upwards and drank the last drops of the liquid inside with a loud, and a tad obnoxious, slurp. He set it on the ground beside him and stood up and stretched. He thought for a moment. Reordin, Oreius, and Sulov. I don't recognize any of these names, he said. Maybe they've never been to Po-Koro. He cleared his throat. "Alright, I'm all set to find the others," he said. "Though the likelihood that any of them are in the village is small, I'll hope for the best."
IC: Jikal"I have no idea what is going on here." Jikal muttered to himself, sitting back down.He pulled his guitar back onto his lap, and put the strap around his neck. He started playing, a quiet, mysterious melody.
IC (Oreius)Oreius walked into the market, and was greeted by an assortment of smells, both foreign and familiar. Being Ga-Koro, there was plenty of fresh fish being sold, as well as assortments of fruit and vegetables and baked goods. The Ta-Matoran fingered the widgets in his pouch. He was in the mood for some fruit today, he decided. He had rarely eaten fruit in Ta-Koro, as it was difficult to grow, and took a long time to import, while the fruit and vegetables here could be grown on the outskirts of the jungle, just a few minutes from the Koro."Hi, Vara," Oreius greeted the Ga-Matoran manning a produce stall."Hi, Oreius," she replied, smiling. "What can I get for you?""I was thinking of some peaches, maybe, and some bula berries as well."The Ga-Matoran began to pick up the fruit and place them in a bag woven of leaves. "That'll be a nice breakfast. Did you go for your swim this morning?"Oreius nodded. "Yup. It was great."Vara giggled as she handed him the fruit. "I still can't believe I know a Ta-Matoran who swims! And that'll be four widgets."Oreius shrugged, smiling. "I guess I'm just weird."He paid and left with a friendly wave, whistling as he walked back through the market.OOC: I don't have the time for a Cael post, but I'll get to it later. Just made this quick post so Stannis and Co. had a chance of finding Oreius. ![]()
IC: Kitsune, Ga-KoroA few moments later, Jikal's music was accompanied by a soft, haunting flute melody that sounded remarkably beautiful in combination with Jikal's guitar. Kitsune, eyes closed, concentrating fully on her flute, smiled slighty as he fingers danced across the flute, making it sing with ease.
IC: JikalJikal smiled, and continued to play. The song quickly dropped in tone, becoming dark, and depressing. But as quickly as it did so, a single upbeat note echoed and the song started climbing up once more, and becoming a song of victory. When his fingers finally stopped moving, he realized he'd been playing for ten minutes.
IC: (Tarcvor/Medical Hut, Ga-Koro)Joske was, apparently, ticked off. The little stunt, with the burning fishing pole and all, had left Tarc and a great many members of the crowd shocked. Feeling a twang of guilt, Tarcvor did his best to scatter the group. When they had thinned out, Tarc took a chance and entered the hut where Joske had drifted into. The first thing he saw was his idol, passed out on a bed, and a couple of Toa chatting away."Is he okay?" Tarc asked Merror, concern in his voice.
IC-Skeldan:"He'll be fine," Skeldan said, slamming his hand down on Tarcvor's shoulder good-naturedly, though he didn't check to see if he had hurt the other Toa. "In fact, he's going to start his training soon." Skeldan shrugged."I don't know that anybody is truly qualified to train and guide another Toa," the Toa of Ice said, "But we can all try. And what is this talk of danger?"
IC: Arzanyos smiled, putting away his spear. "I didn't sign up to work for this captain or that captain, Lohkar. I signed to work for the ship." He bowed, tipping an invisible hat to the Lesterin. "You'll be takin' control of The Infernikavika, I assume. In that case, let's hunt us some mark bearers."
IC (Merror)Merror stood up."I swore an oath," he said, "never to let anyone die because of me, ever again. Darkness follows me. I cannot - I MUST not - put others at risk."He began to leave."That's why I have to work alone."IC (Lohkar)Lohkar grasped Arzanyos' hand and shook it, smiling back."Glad ta have you on board, mate," he said. "So who else is with me?" he called to the rest of the pirates.
IC-Skeldan:"A Toa does not work alone," Skeldan said firmly, stepping in front of Merror and stopping him. "Whatever oath you have taken, it does not stop you from gathering others to help you." Then he thought for a moment, before he shrugged."Besides that, darkness and danger follows every Toa. Even if you got more than your fair share, it only means you helped another by taking part of theirs. I'd say you've done somebody a service whether you realize it or not, and others can only help you more."
IC (Merror)Merror paused for a moment."I wish it were that simple," he said, turning to face Skeldan again. "But you don't understand. People have died, because of me. Because of my mistakes. I can't let that happen again."Still, the Ice Toa's words had put a seed of doubt in Merror's mind. What if...no, it was impossible. Too dangerous.
IC-Skeldan:"Choices are far-reaching, doubtless people die for every choice besides the mundane. Everybody makes choices, therefore, everybody makes mistakes. There is no reason for you to fear this," Skeldan growled. Then he thought again-who might have died from his choices? Matoran? His brothers, the other Toa? It was not a happy thought, though doubtless the effects of his decisions had killed somebody before. He shuddered slightly at the thought.
IC: Lasinia"Hey Mimi, do you want to go with Mr. Skakdi or New Captain Guy?"
IC: (Tarcvor/Medical Hut, Ga-Koro)After letting out a sigh of relief that his idol was safe, Tarc stood by and watched, with a mixure of facination and curiosity as the two Toa argued. By now, he was leaning towards Skeldan's side in the matter. And although he was normally reserved in such matters, he had to intervene, in one way or another."But...We're Toa, and Toa stick together," the young Toa said in a quiet voice.
IC (Merror)Merror paused, uncertain. For so long, he had borne the burden of his past. For so long, he had denied himself friendship, companionship, for the fear of repeating his past mistakes. For so long, he had taken the role of the lone hero, never stopping, never waiting, never asking for thanks. But maybe...just maybe...And then he saw it. The truth of it all. For all those years, he had done exactly as they wanted...exactly as they planned. But now - now he understood.A change seemed to enter the Toa of Fire. Years of weariness seemed to lift from his shoulders. A new fire burned in his eyes. "You speak with wisdom, my friends," he said, strength and determination in his voice. "And you are right. I've been alone too long. It's time for that to change."He looked to the Toa of Ice."Tell me, - what was your name?""Skeldan," replied the Toa."Tell me, Skeldan," Merror continued, "when was the last time you saw a Toa Team?"
IC-Skeldan:Skeldan smiled. Now he was getting into it, getting on to doing great things with himself and with others to help him. Unity, that was the first step. Once you had that, your duty would come to you, and fulfilling that would lead to your destiny. Yes, this was a success for Skeldan."The last time I was a part of one," he replied. "And I can't tell you how long ago that was." And yet, now he had the chance to be a part of a Toa Team. He wasn't the best fighter, of course, but he had other ways he could help. Quite a few other ways, in fact.
IC (Merror)The fire blazed brighter in Merror's eyes."Exactly," he said. "Because a Toa Team is more than just a group of people. It's a symbol, a symbol of what unity can do. And that's what this island needs. This island needs symbols, this island needs unity. This island needs heroes.""You've shown me the light," he said. "I was alone, trapped by my past for so long. But no more. Thank you..."Merror placed a hand on Skeldan's shoulder."...Brother."
IC-Skeldan:Skeldan smiled brighter than before, slamming his hand down upon Merror's shoulder as well, fist-bumping him."Good to join with you, Brother," he boomed, regardless of whether or not he might wake up Joske. "So, we've reached the recruiting stage. After that, what shall we do?"Inside, though, he wasn't asking these questions. He was moreso happy that his arguments had made an effect on Merror, that, unlike so many others, he was willing to listen to another's view, and possibly accept it...just as he had.
Ic: Anthyn enjoyed perks few other people could match: Being an inter-dimensional super being with the raw power of several other people contained in her body. Had she not have been charged with such energies, the hatchet would have hit its intended target and chopped a wing off of her. But as it were, it did not, with a lot attributed to her amped reflexes. The Valkyr buckled her knees and fell to the floor at the instant that she saw the characteristic flick of the wrist that indicated the weapon had been flung and rolled to the upright position in a smooth motion. The axe whizzed by Anthyn's left and slammed through the floor, and a ploosh indicated that it was lost in the water now, but it had still done some damage. A pencil stream of blood tricked from behind her and a few feathers drifted to the ground; the blade had snipped the tip of her left wing."What a pity," Anthyn cooed in mock sympathy at the somewhat failed attack. "You almost succeeded there... Too bad 'almost' doesn't really count here. But at least you drew blood. Bravo." And then, the power display. In a skillful lunge she met Dorian head-on and instantly clotheslined him with a wing before swinging down with a fist. To her mild surprise, Dorian caught the blow and redirected it, opening a place for him to punch back despite the wounds on his shoulders and arms. It met it's target, but Anthyn allowed it to before taking hold of it with her free hand and holding it in place as her agile and swift body cartwheeled in place, twisting Dorian's arm with all her body providing the torque to drag it along. A loud pop sound told her the move had worked; Dorian's upper right arm was dislocated, but she then brought her right arm down and smashed Dorian's gripped arm, breaking it. Dorian moved to clock her with his left arm but missed, his fist buzzing her overhead as she ducked under it and effortlessly grabbed his legs and tossed him back as if he were a bamboo caber."I told you this game's rules, Dorian, but you just don't seem to understand. You win... or you die. And if you die it's not going to be because of me, it's going to be because you just suck at playing games, even when you're using your special powers," she said, knowing what the Mark was as an added perk of absorbing the psyche of a Mark Bearer. "You really are a pathetic little man, you know."IC: Dorian (Ga-Koro)I didn't dignify her challenge with a response, nearly hefted myself up again and took a deep breath or two; my eyes shone like cyan stars, my tattoo a beacon of iridescent glory, and as I cracked my knuckles, I examined the space where her wings would be. And I moved. Faster, harder, more powerfully than Anthyn had anticipated, I sprinted to the right in a Mark-fueled rush and whipped out a throwing axe; a slight whip of my hand, and it was flying right towards the base of Anthyn's cloaked left wing, moving at a speed that no weapon had any business moving at.
IC: (Tarcvor/Medical Hut, Ga-Koro)Tarcvor couldn't help but smile too. Being the presence of these two friends, who had joined before his eyes, inspired him. But all this talk of a Toa team, it made him absolutely giddy with excitement. It had been one of his major aspirations since becoming a Toa. Now, it was his chance. A chance to become a hero like the Toa Mata before him. So with relish in his voice, he asked:"Could I join your team? Help you fight the Makuta?"Sending a silent prayer to Mata Nui, the young Toa awaited a response.
Kale Ironshaper- Ga-koroIC: After Joske and company had moved off, Kale kept looking for more crew members. Several beings said that they would be willing to think about it and he had told them where they were docked. Most of the time he was just wandering around though, so it was not too much of a surprise when he caught sight of Dehkaz and another Toa also wandering around.Waving his hand, he made his way over to them. Once he got close enough, he called out,"Hey! Dehkaz! Over here!"
IC: Dorian (Ga-Koro)"And you a very easily distracted little pigeon," I snarled back, eyes glowing in my anger and in Cipher's; I darted my arms forward, popping my left one back into place as I did so, and the two protosteel daggers flicked out into my hands as I tackled Anthyn forward and stabbed forward, underneath both her armpits. The Valkyr screamed out in pain as she threw me back against the hut, sending me through the wall, but the damage was done: the knives had gone in far enough to temporarily dull her arms, and I crawled out of the wreckage of the hut with a smirk on my face before running forward again, circling her to the left with enhanced speed and reflex. The plan worked marginally less well than I had expected it to: Anthyn pushed out with her wing, aiming to clothesline me again, but I ducked underneath and rolled, as if putting out a fire: I jumped back up while she was trying to move the feathery appendage back into position and grabbed at the bases of both wings, seeking something to hang on to for this next maneuver, before aiming a hard knee at the base of her spine with almost Pakari-level strength.-Teezy
IC: KitsuneKitsune, slightly winded from her performance, breathed deeply, putting the flute back in her travel bag as she did so. Her smile growing wider, she leaned back on her stool, resting her back against a large, almost overflowing bookcase. Twisting her wrist, one of her fans fell out of her sleeve and into her hand, and before one could blink, she was fanning herself with it.
OOC: And now Tyler's little wrinkle comes into play.IC: JikalJikal smiled, and leaned back. For the moment, all was at peace. Iris was silent, and all was well.Until his Mark activated randomly. In shock at the high, he jerked back, and the wall behind him literally exploded.
IC, Zijak: Zijak thought for a moment. "I dunno, Lohkar- what do I get if I stay with you?"
Ic: Anthyn's reaction came almost as a primal reflex. Just as the knee met her back, Anthyn swung herself off the side and took Dorian along for the ride as she dove into the water like a proto-drake. In the water she could move faster and, hopefully, also be able to get him off her back. Her arms dragged alongside her as she shot like a torpedo through the underworks of Ga-Koro, limp and mostly useless for at least a couple minutes later, but the water held a rejuvenating factor and she could already feel sense returning to her nerves and with it the pain from the vicious stabs.****Stannis agreed with Aurax. "We can't know where the others are at this moment, but we still have to go almost door-to-door on this island if we are to get the team together. This isn't like before where I can wait for everyone to come to me; in this case we have to go find them, wherever they may be." He got up and put his pike away on his back. "Now let's go into the village before nightfall. The sun is already waning."
