IC (Oreius)Oreius listened in wonder and amazement as Stannis related his tale. While he, Oreius, had done little save strike out on his own in what was really little more than a rebellion against the status quo, Stannis had been solving mysteries and seeking answers. There was no Matoran more fitting to be named the Wanderer, and no Matoran Oreius would have found more fitting to be his leader than the one sitting before him.The Ta-Matoran took a deep breath. "I envy you your adventures, to be honest. That's all I want to do: to make a difference on this island. I want to strike some small blow against the Makuta. If you can help me do that, I will follow you to Karzahni and back."
Ic: "I admire your enthusiasm, brother," Stannis said, holding his hand up to ease Oreius. "But I don't know where we will end up. If we were chosen, then logic says we will fight the Makuta in some way, and if we are the prophesied ones then we will fight him ourselves. But those are two 'ifs' too many. I can promise you that your destiny will be fulfilled with me, whatever it may be, and that I will help you accomplish that if you help the rest of us. But that is all I can guarantee you right now."He yawned. He needed rest. "If you would be so kind, I need a place to rest for the night and have no widget with me; I never needed one. I can't ask you to rent me a room, but I would appreciate it if you shared this one with me. I will gladly take the floor," he offered. Aurax and Lepidran would have to forage for themselves just the same, taking any shelter they could find. Hopefully they were as blessed as Stannis was that night. Tomorrow was going to be an exciting day, from meeting the others in the morning and continuing the search for the missing matoran. Stannis had a lot to look forward to, but right then all he wanted was sleep. "Would you mind?" he asked Oreius.
OOC: I shall follow Tuck's time-shift XDIC (Merror)"Good to meet you, Tarcvor," Merror said, smiling. "I wish you luck in whatever quest the Great Spirit grants you."He turned back to his friends."For now, I suggest we all get a good night's rest. I'll meet you all in the main square, tomorrow morning."
***
Merror woke, bright and early, in the inn room he had got for the night. Walking downstairs, he tossed a couple of widgets to the snoring bartender, and walked out of the door, making his way to the main square. None of his companions were there yet, and the square was not yet busy at this time of day, so he leaned against one of the message posts, waiting.
IC (Lohkar)
"Aye," said Lohkar. "An' there'll be a share for all of ya. Now - "
He took up his position at the Infernavika's helm, his hands gripping the familiar wheel.
"All hands on deck! Weigh anchor! Prepare ta set sail!" he barked.
Soon, the ship moved off, passing the entrance to Naho Bay and making for the entrance to a small cove nearby...

Early next morning, a motley-looking group arrived at Ga-Koro's gate. They were led by an eccentric-looking blue Toa wearing an Arthron.
The guard looked suspiciously at them.
"And who might you be?" he asked.
The leader walked over to the guard, stooped down, and put a friendly arm round the guard's shoulders.
"Toa Morell, at your service," he said, opening his free left hand to reveal five widgets. "Let's leave the questions at that, shall we?"
The guard hesitated, then saw the widgets and took them.
"Welcome to Ga-Koro, Toa Morell."
As the eccentric Toa stood up, the guard stood aside and let them pass. Once through the gate, 'Morell' led his group along the walkway and into the village proper. Once they were out of sight of the gate, he tossed a widget pouch into the air once, before pocketing it. His light fingers had taken it from the guard while he was distracted by the bribe.
"Funny 'ow it's easier to rob people when they think they're bein' paid," Lohkar said.
IC: Lasinia"Where to first?"
IC: PirokPirok was the first to arrive after Merror got there, approaching his friend through the near-empty square. "No-one else here yet?"
IC (Merror)"Nope," Merror replied. "Skeldan's probably slept in. You know what Toa of Ice are like."He winked at Pirok.IC (Lohkar)"Well, first we need ta regroup with Perkahn an' his lot," Lohkar replied. "Any sign of 'em?"
IC: Pirok"You seem slightly more cheerful than you were the last time I saw you." Pirok noted.
OOC: timeskip it is, then.IC, Perkahn(Ga-Koro)Perkahn, meanwhile, was at what was only a day ago a dock - now it was a post-battle positive ruin, the Ga-Koronans scrambling to clear it up. Arzanyos and Grochi were beside him. (ooc: sorry for this slight bunnying, guys, I hope you don't mind)"The Ga-Matoran say that Mark Bearer, Dorian, Tank said his name was, died when this little debacle happened. After some fight in the town - hear it was a big affair, pity we weren't here. Weird thing is, they've yet to find a corpse."
IC (Merror)Merror sighed."It's been a long time since I've had reason to be cheerful," he replied. "Everything seems to go wrong around me. Tamaru, then Proditor, then Hafu...and many more before them."
IC: Pirok"Proditor's death wasn't your fault, nor were Tamaru's or Hafu's. You can't save everyone, Merror, and you shouldn't try to make yourself believe that you can. You'll only set yourself up for disappointment when you fail."
IC: Lasinia"They might be at that suspicious broken dock thingy."
IC (Merror)Merror sighed again."Perhaps," he said. "But if I'd been there sooner, Tamaru could still be alive. So could Hafu. If I'd paid attention, maybe Proditor would still be alive. I'm always too late. Perhaps it's not my fault that they died, but I still feel the guilt."IC (Lohkar)Lohkar wheeled around."...Good idea," he said, and marched off in the direction of the ex-dock.
IC: LasiniaLasinia followed.
IC: Pirok"Guilt is natural, but you shouldn't focus on it. What has happened has happened, it's too late to change it, so there's little point dwelling on it."
IC (Merror)"Yes," Merror said, straightening up. "That's what I realised yesterday. I'd let my past control me too much."The fire from the day before had reignited in his eyes."Because I do need more than allies. I need more than friends. I need brothers. I was beginning to realise that after I fought the Skapoka - I had a lot of time to think. The whole business with Joske nearly tipped me back again, but Skeldan helped me. Now, I have brothers. I have you, and him, and Skyra and Weta."
IC: Krayn"'Cute' might be a bit of an exaggeration." Krayn's smile widened. "Of the two of us, I think you have that title."
IC: Pirok"It'll take some time getting used to calling you 'brother'." Pirok smiled. "But I'm glad to be a part of this."
IC: Skyra - Ga-Wahi Beach -As for myself, I'd spent the night under the stars with Destiny, her damaged wing seemed to be doing a bit better, I didn't want to risk having her fly yet though. I had reinforced the bandages before I had fallen asleep in the sand. Now of course it was morning, and most likely I was one of the last to bother to wake up, truth be told I wasn't much of a morning person. After stroking Destiny's feathers I left her to rest on the beach and went to find the others.I headed to the square, which was pretty empty for this early in Ga-koro. I saw Merror and Pirok not to far off. "Morning guys..." I said with a groggy voice. IC: Mimira - Ga-koro -Mimira's heart was pumping with excitement, this was so exciting! They were gonna do pirate things! She saw the wrecked dock and gasped. "Woah....what could of done that!?"
IC: PirokPirok noticed the grogginess in Skyra's voice. "Sleep well?"
IC: Skyra - Ga-koro -"Eh...about as well as I usually do." I said with a shrug. "I'm surprised I'm not the last one here actually." I commented, taking note we still needed Weta and Skeldan to have the full group.
IC: Pirok"Speaking of which, even once they arrive, we will only be five. Toa Teams are traditionally composed of six." A thoughtful expression crossed Pirok's face. "I don't suppose you already have a sixth in mind, Merror?"
IC: (Tarcvor/Ga-Koro)Tarcvor awoke in an inn, not far from the inn where Merror slept. He'd decided, first and foremost, to go and resume his wandering. But a small voice in his head kept pushing him and pushing him to try and join the Toa team. Sure, they were all the Ta-Toa's friends, but by karzahni, it was a Toa Team. And how rare was it to find one of those forming? So, going down, out of his room, he entered into the bustling streets of Ga-Koro. By this time, the voice was getting stronger and more urgent. So, in order to placate that side of him, he'd try and join. Where had Merror told them to meet? Yes, the main square. Walking on over through the crowds, he saw the Ta-Toa talking to another. With a smile, he said, in a polite tone:"I see we've met again. Might I ask, does your team have another position open?"
IC-Skeldan:"Slept in?" Skeldan asked incredulously from the bench he'd been sitting on, waiting for the others. "Truly, I think you just need to be more observant. I was sitting here for at least thirty minutes before you popped up."
IC (Oreius)Oreius nodded. "That's fine; you can stay here. But- why don't you take the bed? You look like you need it more than I do."This wasn't an attempt to be generous or to impress Stannis; it was simply an observation. Stannis looked dead on his feet, like he hadn't slept for days. Before the Matoran could argue, Oreius opened the closet and pulled out an extra blanket, which he laid out on the floor for himself.OOC: Feel free to timeskip to morning if you want.
IC (Merror)"Come off it, Skeldan, we all saw you sneak in ten seconds ago," Merror said, chuckling. He turned to Tarcvor. "Tarcvor," he said kindly, "I appreciate your question, I really do, but...I can tell you're a young Toa. I don't think you're ready.""And as a matter of fact, Pirok - " he said. "Yes I do. There's a Toa of Lightning I met once. Fought a pack of Muaka with her. She's the kind of person we need, not to mention that an all-male team can be a little unbalanced."
IC: PirokPirok nodded. "You got any idea where she is?"
IC: (Tarcvor/Ga-Koro)"Okay then. perhaps I'll find another group," Tarcvor said, not exactly hiding his sadness. "Good luck on your travels."
Ic: But Stannis was already asleep in the chair, and the blanket Oreius intended for himself was instead used to cover the Wanderer as he slumbered before Oreius returned to his own bed. There they were until morning.
IC (Merror)"I'm sorry, Tarcvor," said Merror, "but where we're going is no place for a young Toa like you. And I wish you luck, too, and I hope that one day you will be ready to face the dangers we will - but I also hope you will never have to."He turned back to his companions."Le-Koro is probably the place to start," he said. "That's where I last saw her, and someone there might know where she can be found. Skyra, do you still have that Gukko? Destiny's her name, yes?"IC (Lohkar)"That?" said Lohkar. "That's nothin'. You should see what the 'Vika's cannons can do to a port..."He walked up to Perkahn and co."Found anything'?" he asked.
IC: Skyra - Ga-koro -"Yeah I do but, I had a little scuffle with Dorian, a wanted criminal, and in the fight one of Destiny's wings got damaged. She's alright, but I'd rather not have her fly, much less carry anyone. Will have to find another way to get there." I said with a apologetic voice.
IC (Merror)Merror looked concerned."That's unfortunate," he said. "She's definitely all right? Are you going to leave her here?"
IC: Skyra - Ga-koro -"Yeah, she'll be fine, I know a couple of Ga-matoran that can keep an eye on her if need be, Destiny will just fly home when she is able." I said reassuringly, I'd gone through Destiny being injured before, it was never fun, but she always pulled through. Besides, her injuries were rather minor this time.
Kale Ironshpaer - Ga-koroIC: More or less ignoring the other person that had just showed up, Kale replied to Dehkaz and Nanoa's questions."Apparently that famous kohli player/guardsman Joske Nimil was injured during a terakava attack. He was in pretty bad shape from what I hear, but they manged to fix him up. I'm not sure how, but he was resting in a hut and somehow, manged to get his hands on a Toa Sone. I don't know how, I guess somebody gave it to him. Last time I saw him he was surrounded by wellwishers that were just about swamping him."He turned to Dehkaz, "Yes, Dekal is fine. He found us another crewmember. I think they are over at the Darksea inn right now. Want me to show you the way?"
IC (Merror)Merror nodded."I'm glad nothing serious happened to her," he said. "And now, we just need to wait for Weta before we can go to Le-Koro. We could walk, or take the ferry. Any thoughts?"
IC: Skyra - Ga-koro -"I'd prefer ferry...I don't really like walking long distances."
OOC: Thanks for the character development, Ghosthands.
IC: (Tarcvor/Ga-Koro)The rejection had hurt the young Toa. Was he truly looked down upon as a novice-one not to be trusted? Was considered that inexperienced? How long was before he would be the great Toa-hero he'd dreamt of becoming? Clearing these thoughts from his mind, he decided to stop pondering and take action. He would train and work to earn the respect of his colleagues. And aside from training and working, he had to fully embrace his Destiny as a Toa. It ment he had to fight evil wherever it stood.
IC (Oreius)Oreius awoke to sunlight spilling through the curtains, lighting up the room. He sat up in his bed and rubbed his eyes, thinking about the day ahead. He could take a day off, go swimming, maybe walk along the beach... then he saw Stannis sleeping the chair and remembered the night before. The Ta-Matoran grinned as he jumped out of bed. The waiting was finally over! He could finally get moving. He loved Ga-Koro, but he could feel the irresistible pull on his heart to leave and follow destiny's course. He could hardly wait. But Stannis was still sleeping, and Oreius didn't dare disturb him, so instead he left the room quietly and exited the hotel, stepping out into the morning sun. A fresh breeze was coming off the bay, and the sky was a cloudless blue. The Ta-Matoran walked towards the market, intent on getting some breakfast for himself and his new companion.***A while later, Oreius returned to his room, carrying a bag of fruit and pastries. As he walked up to the door of room eight, he wondered if Stannis would be awake yet, or if the Matoran was still sleeping. He had looked exhausted the night before, as though he could sleep for a week.
IC-Skeldan:As the others spoke, Skeldan got slightly bored. And so, he wondered to himself as to what he should do. Pull out his Lyre or his Lute and play? No, not a good time. There might be too many Ga-Matoran around for him to start playing-they might think he was just some random street musician and block him off.A-ha, that's right, his mask, the Iden. He could do something interesting with it. Boredly, as though he were still tired, he crossed his arms and let his head hang low. A split second later and he was moving about outside of his body, quickly exploring Ga-Koro. Who knows, they might notice his seemingly-dead body or not...especially when it had slumped over and fallen on the ground...but he might find some gullible Matoran to mess with.
Ic: Stannis awoke and started a usual morning routine. He rubbed his eyes, scratched his neck and thought for a moment before becoming legitimately awake. He pulled the blanket off of himself and got up to find the bed vacant and Oreius gone, instantly deducing that he had gone out for his breakfast. Breakfast. Oh, God, not Vara... he thought worriedly. Who knows how she would react that day. Would her concerned enthusiasm for her crush become unbridled as he picked her peaches? Great... The last thing he wanted to have to do was extricate Oreius from the thoughts of having a girlfriend, assuming she didn't scare him off or he didn't share the affection. Either way, he opted not to get involved if he didn't have to, primarily because he decided going out and finding them would just stir the opt for possible conflict.Instead, he looked at everything in the room like a detective. He admired the Ga-Koronan light fixtures, especially the glowing jellyfish that danced in the ceilings of every hut in town, and the art was both simple and fantastic. Everything was just filled with life, and Stannis could appreciate life. It was one of the things Antrim had taught him to protect and hold sacred, and as a result he embraced the concept of purposeful life and the patterns within. Then he laid eyes on Oreius' weapons, two short swords and a Ta-Koro Guard spear. He looked at the swords with a strange face of disdain before plucking the spear up and getting the fool for it. It was at that moment that Oreius unlocked the door and entered, holding bags of groceries in his arms."You any good with these?" Stannis asked as he gestured at the swords and spear, skipping the usual niceties of "Good morning, how are you today?" or "How was your trip into town?"
IC: Kitsune & Co, Ga-KoroThere was a moment of silence, and then Kitsune spoke, her voice panicked. "You can do something, right? To give yourself more time?" She asked, her eyes wider than Jikal had ever seen.IC: JikalRaion's words pierced through the euphoric fog suffocating his mind. Casualties. Death. Time. Mark. Suddenly, it clicked.Jikal's voice was no longer happily confused. It was carefully controlled, and lacking emotion. "When I was with the Bearers, I learned that a Mark can eventually kill it's Bearer. Normally, it would drive them insane first, but Iris might already have met that condition."He looked at his arm, feeling a strange sense of detachment. It just didn't seem real. "It looks like I have six days, twenty three hours, and fifty five minutes to live."
