IC: Nikarra"Really?" Nikarra still looked sceptical. "How'd you meet him, and when did you last see him?"
IC, Perkahn:(The Floating Cafe)Perkahn knew. He had her on the ropes now. Couldn't count how many times he had to tell a tale of how he met someone, and it was almost always the same tale. So he'd reuse it now, too."Fifteen years ago, Dorian went walking through Le-Wahi. Sadly, he came unfortunately close to one of my Ash Bear traps, and got slightly stuck. I came running, and since I'm not a cannibal, I let him go. We drank mead and talked, and these friends of mine came to visit me as well, and we all got acquainted rather well with Dor. Now, however, we need to warn him. We have information from a reliable source that pretty much every bounty hunter on Mata Nui, the Crew of the Infernavika head first, have gathered into a headhunter group. They're all going after Dorian. And we know Dorian. He hasn't died in that wreck there in the docks, like you have, thank you, confirmed to us by not saying it outright at the beginning. There was no corpse. Everyone's bound to catch up soon. This is why we need to reach Dorian and warn him."
IC (Lohkar)"Met 'im?" said Lohkar, skilled at thinking on the spot. "I met 'im in a barfight. Smashed a vase over 'is head, as I recall...'e was very forgivin', though. Bought me a drink."Speaking of drinks...He took a quick swig from his hip-flask."We're goin' ta need you help if we're ta warn 'im," he said to Nikarra. "So, where is 'e?"
IC: Nikarra"I don't know."
IC (Lohkar)"No idea?" said Lohkar. "No hints, no guesses, no speculations?"
IC: Nikarra"If I did, seeing as your stories were completely believable and not suspicious at all, especially the bear trap one," Nikarra glanced at Perkahn, "Don't you think I'd have told you?"Admittedly, if she had only been told Lohkar's story she would likely have been a little less suspicious, but she had difficulty believing Perkahn's.
IC (Lohkar)"Well then," said Lohkar, looking sideways at Perkahn. "Plan B?"
IC: Lasinia"Oh hi there!" said Lasinia cheerfully, popping up right behind Nikarra. "I like your mask."
IC: Nikarra"Um... thanks?" If one more person showed up, she was getting out of here.
IC, Perkahn:(The Floating Cafe)Perkahn shot a critical glance at Nikarra. And then looked at Lohkar and said, "Plan B it is. Lasinia, what the heck?!"One quick glance at the window and a nudge of his head towards Lohkar, his gaze essentially saying, "Block it.""I'm sorry, you leave us no choice, milady... especially considering the mark on your shoulder."Perkahn jumped forward, his battleaxe emerging from behind his back. For all that talk of hiding weapons, he forgot to hide his own. Only need to place the blade at her throat and Plan B's completed.
IC: Lasinia"Distraction HUG!" she shouted cheerfully, hugging Nikarra.
IC (Lohkar)Lohkar sidestepped, placing himself between Nikarra and the window. Meanwhile, he drew his second Zamor launcher, which had been concealed about his person.
IC: NikarraNikarra was not in the mood to be hugged, which was rather unfortunate for Lasinia, who likely wouldn't react well to the amount of electricity Nikarra was hitting her with.
IC: LasiniaLasinia pulled back, quickly taking out her stake and pointed it directly at Nikarra's throat, the tip crackling with electricity, small sparks slowly jumping off it and around the other Toa of Lightning."That was not really nice. I wanted a hug."
IC, Perkahn:(The Floating Cafe)That, however, was more than enough time for Perkahn to sidestep Nikarra and grab her by the waist from behind, placing his battleaxe's blade depressingly close to her throat. "Now, how about you relax and we talk about this? Someone throw me some rope."
IC: Nikarra"And I didn't." Nikarra looked at the stake pointed at her throat, along with the battleaxe. "Could you move those away for a moment and let me stand up?"
IC: Lasinia"Nope," she said cheerfully. "Until I get a hug."Meanwhile, she had pulled a large coil of rope from her backpack and chucked it to Perkahn.
IC (Lohkar)Lohkar threw Perkahn the coil of rope he normally carried."That's fine rope, that is," he said, as though making conversation.
IC, Perkahn:(Floating Cafe)Perkahn caught both ropes - one with his head, and the other with the blunt end of his battleaxe, and quite in a common-day manner he tied Nikarra down to the nearest chair. He threw some words in Skakdi to the cafe owner, who threw some back, and then Perkahn threw him some widgets. The cafe owner came and helped them carry Nikarra, still tied to that chair, away to a more quiet side room. Perkahn positioned himself against the wall."Now, I do honestly believe, we can talk. And I honestly hope for some progress now. For both our sakes."
IC: NikarraNikarra spat at Perkahn.
IC, Perkahn:(The Floating Cafe)Perkahn grinned, crossing his arms. "Save your spit. You're gonna need it for later. To be honest, I'd be glad we let you spit like that and don't mind it, because most people keeping a prisoner wouldn't be so merciful. Now. Speak to us. Of Dorian. We want to hear about Dorian."
IC: Nikarra"I'm not gonna talk."
IC (Lohkar)Lohkar had retrieved his weaponry from Yasurek and joined them in the side room."Look, love," he said, standing in front of Nikarra, "I've never been one for torture. But ya might be interested ta know that the Ga-Koro Marines 'ave a very nice bounty for Mark Bearers. So here's the deal: you tell us where Dorian is, or we hand you over ta the Marines. Savvy?"
IC: Nikarra"I don't know where he is, and even if I did I wouldn't tell you." Nikarra hissed.
IC: Mimira - The Floating Cafe, Ga-koro -Mimira stood by Lasinia, still not entirely sure why they were tying up the lady in the chair, Mimira decided she must be a bad guy of some sorts, so it was okay. She still looked rather unsure though. IC: Skyra - Ferry, Ga-Wahi -I boarded the ferry with the rest, I immediately took to the railing, crossing my arms and resting them over the edge. I stared out into the endless sea. I glaced at Merror as he and the others got settled. "Merror...do you know what a mark bearer is? I'm sure you've heard about them, considering how news travels so quickly around this island." I had to assume by now that Merror had noticed the strange purple tattoo on my right arm, and probably the timer on my forearm as well. I'd been avoiding talking about it till now however.
IC (Merror)"As a matter of fact, I don't," Merror replied. "I've been a little...out of the loop, as it were. But I did notice that mark on your arm."The Toa of Fire sat down on one of the seats."We've got a long time to talk, so you can tell us all about it."
IC: Skyra - Ferry, Ga-Wahi -"Ah, well, basically these marks have been placed on a few certain people, and each of them can absorb a different kind of emotion and increase the strength of a bearer. The problem with them is not only does absorbing with the mark gives the bearer an addicting high...but if you don't feed it...it can take over your body and force you too feed it." Thankfully I had yet to experience being possessed by my mark, nor did I want to. "Also...it seems these have appeared on all the mark bearers recently." I showed the ticking timer on my forearm, which had about 5 and a half days left. "Thankfully it seems absorbing with the mark can increase the time on this thing..."
IC: PirokNikarra had one of those marks last time I saw her... "So... when that hits zero, you die?"
IC: Skyra - Ferry, Ga-Wahi -"That's what I'm assuming, and I'm not planning on finding out. My mark aborbs fear...and as long as I can aborbs some from time to time...I should be able to stop the timer from ever reaching zero...I hope anyway."
IC, Perkahn:(Ga-Koro)Perkahn sighed. This woman was a living problem, she was. He did not want to go along with torturing the answer out of her. It wasn't his thing, he usually left that to the slightly more evil half of the Toa on Mata Nui. "Tell me, sweetheart, why do you care for this living problem of a sociopath Toa so much? Me and Lohkar, we're not really violent people. There are some people among us who, meanwhile, are rather problematic in that particular field. You, the way I see it, sadly, have two options. You talk peacefully, and tell us everything we need to know. We'll take your mask, give you a new one, and take the mask to the Marines and tell them you're dead. Or we hand you to those problematic people. They rake the answer out of your mind and then we'll hand you, still whole, to the Marines. And the Marines will deal with you a lot less relentingly than we do. I'm sorry, but that's the two choices you have. Now... let's start from the beginning. Why does Dorian matter to you so much that you'd risk your life for him?"He knew the answer, but he wanted her to say it. And once she said it, he'd be halfway to winning this debate without even handing Nikarra over to Lasinia.
IC: Gunner - Floating CafeI, for my part, side-stepped over to where Lasinia and Mimira were standing, watching the proceedings with interest.IC: Rynekk SImul - Ga-Koro"Hm, the Pohatu Cup," I murmured, "Sorry, I don't really follow Kohlii."-Void
IC (Lohkar)Lohkar rolled his eyes. Gunner was going to Karz this up, he could just feel it...IC (Merror)Merror frowned."Seems as though this Mark is more of a curse than a blessing," he said. "Use it more, you get addicted. Use it less, you die."He shifted in his seat."But when did you get it?" he asked. "And how?"
IC: Zakama"What did you expect?" Zakama asked, "Strength? Speed?"
IC: Nikarra"See, there's one problem with that agreement." Nikarra smirked. "See, I'm pretty new to the whole Mark Bearer thing. I wasn't there when they earned the hatred of the Marines. You hand over my mask, they won't know who I am. You bring me in, we have the same problem. It seems to me that you're going to need some other way of persuading me. And if you go for death," She nodded at her wrist, "I'm already going to die. Basically, there's no reason that I should tell you anything, because you don't have anything to hold against me. I'm a woman with very little to lose."
IC (Lohkar)Lohkar decided it was time for a change of tack."Goin' ta die, eh?" Lohkar asked. "Perhaps we can help ya. Is there a way y'can slow it down, or stop it?"
IC, Perkahn:(Ga-Koro)Perkahn shot a very critical glance at Nikarra, carefully analyzing her as he had so many times today. "Such disregard for the power of death. Such lack of desire to survive. And loyalty given not to the Great Spirit, not to the island, not to its people, but to one psychopath of a man. What is this world coming to?""Goin' ta die, eh? Perhaps we can help ya. Is there a way y'can slow it down, or stop it?""Skyra told me that if all the Bearers gather to some sort of temple, they can remove their Marks," Perkahn added, his eyes narrowing, doubt if this will work abundant, but, in the long run, what had they to lose? "Why don't you go find Tank? Kearstrunn? The good Mark Bearers? You'd not die. You have nothing to lose, but a lot to gain, and all you need to do is tell us where to find Dorian. We'd let you go. And you could find them and cure yourself of this affliction."
IC: Nikarra"Maybe I don't want to be cured." Even as she spoke, a plan was already forming in her mind. "Although..."
IC (Revor):"Well, I noticed somthing on the way to Ta-Koro. When I was there, I recalled back to the path that lead me here, and I realized that based off of my memories alone, I could count every single tree I saw on the path, and describe each one in perfect detail."
IC, Perkahn:(Ga-Koro)Perkahn remained silent, allowing the Toa to continue. He was curious as to what she might say now, but not so much as to hurry her.
IC: Nikarra"Although I can't tell you where he is, assuming he's still alive, I might just be able to help you find him."
