  • I've had this idea floating around in my chaotic brain for a while now, and finally decided to stop being lazy and actually write it up:

Mafia: The Heist of the Centuries.

    The story:

Tonight’s the night, the grand opening of the Great Artakha Gallery, showcasing the paintings and sculptures and other works of the most talented artists in the entirety of the Matoran Universe.

But all is not well on this night.

A vengeful artist, whose own works were deemed unworthy of display in the Gallery has arrived with a team of assassins under his employ, intending to slaughter the other guests and burn the Gallery to the ground. A trio of thieves have mingled with the crowd, planning to pull off the ultimate heist in robbing the Gallery of its riches on its opening night.

Also among the crowd are an eccentric painter, a well-known art critic, an off-duty medic, the gallery’s esteemed curator, a pair of lazy, donut-devouring security guards, and a down-on-his-luck private investigator.

The canvas is set, the brushes are ready, and soon the walls of the gallery shall be painted… in blood.

    Roles:

Mafia – their win condition is to kill everyone.
    • Assassins (x3) – regular murderers with no special abilities.
    • The Pyro (x1) – kills things… with fire.
    • Vengeful Artist (x1) – the employer of the group, cannot kill anyone unless all of the other mafians have been found and lynched.
Village – to win, they must both thwart the assassins and find the thieves.
    • Detective (x1) – investigates a player each night.
    • Medic (x1) – chooses a player to save each night.
    • Security Guards (x2) – bumbling, sluggish morons with mind-boggling levels of ineptitude.
    • Guests (x20) – renowned artists who were famous – and unfortunate – enough to get invited to the Gallery’s opening night.
Thieves – their goal is to survive, and escape with the stolen art.
    • The Con Artist (x1) – a very persuasive talker, their votes count for three.
    • The Art Forger (x1) – plants a fake clue in every scene implicating a player of their choosing.
    • The Inside Man (x1) – an outstanding member of the art community, who can use this reputation to their advantage.
Other – various other roles with unique/specific goals.
    • The Curator (x1) – a master of disguise, the Curator has gone into hiding. Want to know why? You’ll have to find him first.
    • The Eccentric (x1) – inspired by mysterious visions, they paint a cryptic clue each night implicating the real killer.
    • The Critic (x1) – investigates a player each night, for unknown reasons.

  • That sounds pretty cool. My only question is what exactly separates the Pyro from the Assassins?

There's more to some of the roles than what's written there. Without giving too much away, the Pyro can only kill on certain nights, in addition to the regular assassin being sent out, and has a few other perks on account of being totally nuts.

  • very well then Ghidora

    here you are

    five_nights_at_mafia.jpg

On the island of Mata-Nui, Makuta reigns supreme. Most of its Matoran population, along with the Turaga of each village, has been subjugated to his tyrannical rule, slowly corrupted by the shadows as they are guarded by the Rahkshi.

Takua and Jaller, sent on a mission to find the mythical Toa of Light, have vanished without a trace.

The Toa Nuva, divided as they were, have fallen one by one to the Rahkshi; only two remain.

    ---

Eighteen Matoran (three from each Koro) have banded together with the two remaining Toa Nuva – Lewa, Toa of Air and Kopaka, Toa of Ice – within Kini-Nui, turning the temple into a mighty fortress. This fortress has only two entrances; one to the east, and one to the west. During the daytime, the group is safe; but at night the corrupted Toa Nuva strike.

They have learned the rules of this new “game” that Makuta has created. For instance, all of the evil Toa will target a specific person each night; if Lewa can guess one of the targets, he can save them from doom. Each of the corrupt Toa also holds to a certain attack pattern:

Gali always attacks them from the east; she is stopped if Kopaka denies her access.

Onua and Pohatu always attack from the west; they are both stopped if Kopaka denies them access, although Pohatu moves too quickly for Lewa to save his victims if allowed inside.

Tahu can always pick the door he enters through; this has proven tricky, for if Kopaka tries to deny him from the east but Tahu enters through the west, he will still enter the temple.

And every now and then, a mysterious Shadow Toa appears, popping suddenly out of the shadows; Lewa has been able to stop his attacks, although Kopaka’s defences are useless.

If the Matoran can survive for five more nights, Makuta has pledged that this assault will end.

And ironically, Makuta can always be trusted to keep his promises.

    Let the game begin…

Are you ready for Five Nights at Mafia?

    RULES

    1-Vote changes are not permitted.

    2-All BZP Rules Apply.

3-Once killed, players can no longer have an impact on the game.

    4-Role revealing is not allowed.

    ROLES

    THE MATORAN

Matoran x18 – Ordinary players, who vote each day on who to kill.

Lewa x1 – One of the only Toa not to be corrupted by Makuta; Lewa can protect one player from death each night for every active Toa. Cannot protect against Pohatu.

Kopaka x1 – The other Toa not corrupted by Makuta; Kopaka can close each door on two players each night. If he blocks the correct person, he might just stop a Toa from claiming their kill for that night…. Cannot protect against Takanuva.

    THE TOA

Gali x1 – Active from Night 1. Gali strikes through the door to the east.

Onua x1 – Active from Night 1. Onua strikes through the door to the west.

Pohatu x1 – Active from Night 2. Pohatu strikes through the door to the west, but moves too quickly for Lewa to protect his victims.

Tahu x1 – Active from Night 3. Tahu can pick which door he attacks through each night, making it harder for Kopaka to stop him.

Takanuva x1 – Active from Night 4. Takanuva strikes at random, and cannot be stopped by doors. If Tahu dies before Night 3, Takanuva takes his place and can kill two players each night.
