OOC: Ahah Emzee, just the staff I wanted to see.
Skyra will be reporting to Kongu sooner or later. :3
IC: Skyra - Le-koro -
I continued to stroke Destiny's feathery neck, appearing to be oblivious to the two fellow Gukko Force members who were now observing me. Though I had in fact noticed them in the corner of my eye. I recognized both of them easily enough, one of them had been responsible for a lot of my training back when I had been just a Matoran, Kunitu had a lot of my respect and was one of the few people in the entire world that could break through my stubbornness. Though it was really a love/hate relationship...and this was the worst time ever for a reunion.
Maybe if I pretended not to recognize her she wouldn't realize who I was.
"I don't recognize her at all..." Kehaga commented as he watched me with Kunitu, he eyed the katanas, and then Destiny. "Wait...those weapons look familiar...I've seen them somewhere."
IC: [Kunitu]
Kunitu narrowed her eyes. "Hmm ... swords ... Gukko ... wait a moment ..."
The Toa of Air began to stride towards the other Toa.
"SKYRA. WHEN DID YOU TURN INTO A GIRL?"
IC: (Corporal Hari Korari, Deck of Fowadi, currently awaiting new orders)
Hari said nothing, so they were going to meet the pirates? A group that the Po-Koro Guard had previously fought against? Well given all that occurred and what Lieutenant Naona, Krayn, and the ILF leader Kethyre were talking about, it seemed that if they wanted to deal these forces from Xa-Koro, they would need their help. Hari kept her mouth shut, normally she was bubbly, energetic but the site of a slowly recovering Xa-Koro and a barely recovering Krayn had quashed such behavior. Even now it would seem in bad taste. She would have to meet Krayn in private later, even if they didn't talk. Given all that the Toa had been through he needed it, even if he didn't think so.
IC: Krayn
"You alright, Hari?" The De-Toa asked, rather suddenly. His tone was less harsh than it had been, but it was a far cry from the general cheer that had dwelt within it for the past few weeks. There was an edge of concern, a stark contrast to the empty air it had held before.
"You don't seem yourself."
IC: Skyra - Le-koro -
The expression on my face was similar to a child who had been caught with her arm in the cookie jar. Let the whole koro know why don't ya?
"Uh...." That was all she could get out of me, as I looked rather stricken with fear. "You know...hospital, iden, crazy mad scientist...stuff like that..." I managed to say something, but it was about as loud as a whisper.
IC: [Kunitu]
"What."
OOC: I think this is where I left off. If not, then please PM me.
More character's posts coming once I figure out what happened.
IC: Dehkaz
The Toa of Magnetism stood on the helm of his ship, overlooking the Endless Ocean. It was good to be back on the Fowadi, especially considering what had happened to him. He still had absolutely no idea what his mask was for, or how to access its power. He'd probably find out, eventually. Like most new mask powers, probably not untill a moment of need or stress.
IC: KehuriDeciding that standing there with his arms crossed wasn't the best position, he stepped to the edge of the ship and leaned on the rail, not far from the discussion, even though he still couldn't hear it. Squinting in the light, he gazed into the forests of Le-Wahi, reflecting again on how beautiful it was, smelling the salty sea air. This was his third day on the surface and so much had changed in that time... He zoned out, reflecting on all that had happened, trying to have a moment of peace. But now, as always, a thought lingered at the back of his mind. It was always there, constantly reminding him. The thought that corrupt Matoran like Ambages plotted for their own gain, at the expense of others.
IC: (Corporal Hari Korari)
"Just thinking..." She sighed, if anything she was worried about Krayn, about all these weighing down on him. Part of her was angry, she wanted to hug Krayn, to make him feel better, to convince him things would get better. She smiled weakly and walked over to him. "I'm fine...how are you holding up?" It was a question that Hari was afraid to ask, but if she wanted to help Krayn, if she wanted to be there she needed to stop guessing and assuming and actually start doing something. Maybe it wasn't the time, or the place, but Hari wrapped his hand in hers in a firm but comforting grip.
IC: Krayn
For a long moment, Krayn was silent. With a minute application of his power, the conversation was rendered inaudible to anyone but he or Hari.
How was he holding up? If he was honest with himself, upon introspection, it was clear that he was not holding up. In fact, he hadn't been doing well for days.
"I've been better."
IC:
Centre the target. Lock on. Fire.
For one crucial second, the branches of the trees all around them stopped swaying, and then came the piercing whistle; the sound of a long object speeding through the air at high speeds.
A crash. The sound of wood splintering against wood. Protruding outwards from the Fowadi was a stake; a stake that had been mere centimetres away from piercing through Naona's head, and ending the guard's life. Her breath hitched, and she slowly turned her gaze to the source of the attack.
Her eyes widened in horror.
"No ..."
"Reaction time requires improvement."
IC: (Corporal Hari - Fowadi)
Hari frowned slightly, in all likelihood the Toa of Sonics was still in a state of distress. She gripped his hand a little bit tighter and just turned to see that Naona had nearly been shot. No one shot at Naona. No one. She gripped her crossbow and pointed in the direction of the voice.
"Who are you?" She asked. "Answer me or my neck shot gives you a new hole to breath through." She growled.
IC: Skyra - Le-koro Square -
Well, it was too late to hide from Kunitu now, she knew me far too well not to recognize me when she saw me, no matter how different my appearance had become. It wasn't like me to act terror-stricken with embarrassment, but she had caught me off guard, my cheeks were flushing under my mask and they felt warm. I took a moment to collect myself, I could feel my heart-light beating as if it was in my throat.
It was about then that I was noticing just how many people were staring at us, Kunitu's little outburst of my name combined with the word girl had been enough to get there attention. Great job Kunitu...
"It's a long story..." I finally said in a more normal voice that Kunitu and Kehaga could hear, though not loud enough for anyone farther away. Destiny pecked my shoulder once, she was annoyed that I had stopped giving her attention, but I simply pushed her beak away with the palm of my hand slowly. "...it's not one I really feel like talking about out in the open either, let's go to HQ..." I really didn't enjoy being stared at by so many people, at least not like this. Plus I needed to speak with Kongu and he was always at the Gukko Force HQ. Neither explaining this to Kunitu or Kongu was gonna be fun for me so it was better to do it all today.
I didn't wait for an answer, I had already started walking toward the massive building that was the Headquarters of the island's biggest air force.
Kehaga looked confused, he wasn't completely convinced that I was Skyra at all, but the fact that I had been handling Destiny only as well as someone who had raised her, plus my mannerisms, and the weapons and tools I wielded, were enough to lessen the doubt, the whole thing was bizarre to him at any rate. He hardly knew me at all other than the fact that I was a pretty well known officer in the Gukko Force, though he was pretty sure I was supposed to be a guy. Then again my name was considered rather girly to some, though that still didn't explain Kunitu's reaction to my newfound feminine body. He decided to be silent and just wait for answers when I was good and ready to give them.
The sound snapped Kehuri out of his daydream. His head whipped around towards the noise as his hand reached for the drill-shield at his belt.
IC: [Kunitu]
"I thought I drilled into your head better things to do than turn into a female," muttered Kunitu. "But I've seen weirder, surprisingly."
IC: Krayn
Krayn, being a De-Toa, had been aware of the attack moments before everyone else. Just enough time for his own crossbow to be grabbed and aimed, his element already searching for the telltale sounds of life.
But at the same time, the voice was familiar.........
".... Darylhii?"
IC: Dehkaz
Hm... Perhpas it was a-
Clank.
Now, there weren't many things that made such a sound. But one of them was when a projectile impacted armor. Heavy armor. The Fowadi's armor. Of course, Dehkaz being hungover and also being the way that he was towards his ship, didn't take it too well. Especially considering the projectile had landed mer inches away from Naona's head. That didn't doo much to improve his mood. At all.
"Who the Karz is making holes in my ship?" The Toa of Magnetism said, crossbow alreadly out and loaded.
IC: [Darylhii]
Darylhii descended from the branch, landing gracefully on his feet, and gazed upon the assembled group of beings.
"Yes."
IC: KehuriThe Toa of Earth's eyes widened as he caught sight of the Toa. Difficult as it was for him to see in this light, there was one thing he could make out. "Iden." He said simply, gripping the rail.
IC: (Hari)
Hari stood in the way of Darylhii and Naona. This man had just fired on her commanding officer.
"Why did you fire on Naona?" Hari growled, it was rather strange given how she was normally the one suggesting peace, but had that stake been a few inches closer, Naona would be dead and the thought made Hari sick to her stomach.
"Answer me you son of Kavinika!" She growled, her crossbow ready to fire. Her turquoise eyes like a greenish blue fire, raging out of control.
IC: [Darylhii]
"I fired on the ship."
IC: Krayn
Abruptly, a hand was placed on Hari's shoulder. The dead look had returned to Krayn's eyes, as he stared at Darylhii. "Don't get too excited.""Darylhii doesn't kill. Despite everything else, he doesn't kill. Isn't that right?"
IC: [Darylhii]
"You read the reports," said the Toa of the Green. "Hopefully succinct. Or have the standards gone down?"
IC: (Hari)
Hari's eyes narrowed.
"Really? So Naona just happened to be nearby the section of the ship you were shooting?" She didn't take her eyes off the man that just came aboard their Dekhaz's ship. "Even if he doesn't he could have killed Naona."
OOC: Double ninja'ed
IC: [Darylhii]
"It was a greeting to a former student."
IC: Dehkaz
The Toa of Magnetism kept his crossbow trained on the Toa, but glanced at Naona, who hadn't exactly spoken much. "Which brings me to ask why I shouldn't return the favor."
IC: (Hari)
Hari was dumbfounded, Naona used to be his student?
"What kind of teacher greets his student with a crossbow bolt?" Hari hissed.
IC: Krayn
"You know, you're still number three on Le-Koro's most wanted list. You dropped from first ten years ago. And to third three years ago." Krayn said, his eyes never leaving the Ve-Toa.
"The reports were rather vague on what happened just before you went rogue."
IC: [Darylhii]
"Interesting," murmured Darylhii. "Well, for answers ... you may ask Private Naona ... although it's Lieutenant these days, is it not?"
There was no response from the aforementioned guard, who was still staring at him in shock.
IC: Skyra - Gukko Force HQ, Le-Wahi -
I did not answer Kunitu until we were well away from any potential onlookers and deep inside HQ, leaving Destiny outside near the Gukko nests. I sat down on a bench, Kunitu and Kehaga sat down with me shortly after. "Believe me, it was never my intention to end up like...this." I said, gesturing to my body. "It was a situation completely out of my control, I was dying and I had no time to ask questions. I just did what the doctor said, I put the Iden on, left my body, and entered this one, which I had no idea was female till right after I might add."
IC: KehuriThe confused Toa processed everything that was being said. So this Ve-Toa was wanted, but not a killer, and apparently was on their side at a time. And he wore an Iden. Or a mask shaped like one at least. He couldn't forget that little detail. He tapped his fingers together, watching the scene unfold, unsure of how exactly to react.
IC: [Kunitu]
"How did you get into such a situation anyway?"
IC: (Hari)
"What did he do to get on that list? What did you do Darylhii?" Hari growled, her eyes still narrowed.
IC: Skyra - Gukko Force HQ, Le-Wahi -
"The same way I always get into such situations, I ran into the thick of it without thinking." I said with a long sigh. "I was in combat with a very nasty crook and I got pushed into an underground river and washed away into the Naho Bay, managed to get mortally wounded, sharp rocks and all...I'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't of been better to just have died in that hospital..."
IC: [Naona]
"Five guards," whispered Naona. "Five of them."
IC: Krayn
"He went rogue." Krayn said simply, before pausing. "Well, that't not all of it.""The reports are rather vague, but what is known is that he was assigned to oversea a routine interrogation. Nothing unusual. What is unusual was the result. All of the interrogators were beaten within an inch of their lives, and when the then Private Naona attempted to stop him, Darylhii put her in a hospital for several months."
His eyes flicked briefly to Naona, before looking back to Darylhii. The last thing he needed was for the Lieutenant to snap.
IC: [Kunitu]
Kunitu promptly poked her colleague in the cheek. Hard. "Oi. No thoughts like that from a member of the Gukko Force. If you were dead, then you would never be able to keep on doing what you love. But first, we gotta get that recklessness out of you."
IC: KehuriHearing Krayn's brief explanation gave the young Toa reason enough to take a few steps back from Darylhii. He didn't know the whole story but what he'd just learned made the idea of hiring him to spy on Ambages seem a lot worse.Naona's reaction caught his eye and he sidled a little closer in case she might need help.
IC: (Hari)
"Then it sounds like we should bring him in." She said, it was strange to see the women she could considered to be her role model so weak, so fragile. It made her angry, she had never heard about this, never heard about what Naona had truly been through and this man was responsible. "So Darylhii why are you here? Felt like dropping in?" She said, her voice like venom.
IC: Skyra - Gukko Force HQ, Le-Wahi -
I flinched when Kunitu poked me, it caused a bigger reaction than I expected, I was a lot more ticklish than I had used to be. "Good luck...you've been attempting that for years." I said with a grin, thinking back to brighter days. My grin quickly faded away however as I remembered even more recent events. "To be honest with you though, I think I'm gonna stay put for a while, I've been feeling really homesick as of late...especially after...." I couldn't bring myself to continue just yet, thinking about what had happened with Onuzek was still fresh in my mind and made my heart ache.
