  • IC (Jin)The bottle was empty, and yet here I was with enough sobriety to stand to my feet and walk in straight line to the bar, where I sat down on a stool. Talk about a waste of money. I guess that's why it was cheap, but still. I sighed quietly, exasperated. Xa-Koro's the only place on this rotten island you can get a decent drink.Still, the night was young, and I had widgets aplenty to blow in whatever futile manner I wanted. If that meant downing enough watered-down alcohol to give Makuta a stomachache, then so be it.I had just so happened to sit down next to handsome Toa of Iron dressed up to look like he didn't care about being dressed up at all. A little too hipster for my taste, but he was good-looking enough so that I was willing to overlook it. The only thing detracting from his attractive getup was the barely concealed look of despair etched over his face. I recognized it easily: it was the same expression I'm sure was scrawled across my face when I learned I was stuck on this dumb island for the rest of my life.I cleared my throat, attracting the attention of the bartender. "Give me whatever he's got," I said, pointing vaguely in the direction of the Toa of Iron. If he was half as depressed as I thought he was, then whatever he was drowning his sorrows in would be good enough for me.The bartender slid a glass across the counter. I picked it up and studied it boredly. A bourbon neat. Huh. Somebody knew the dangers of letting Ga-Matoran add water to your liquor: before you knew it, there was more karz-forsaken H2O than alcohol.I slammed it back without a second thought. Now there was something that reminded me of home.

  • IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)"I'll take a bottle," I said to the bartender, twirling my now-empty shot glass around with the tip of my index finger. "It might last longer."The bartender dusted off a bottle and set it down on the table between me and the Vortixx next to me; I popped open the bottle and poured a shot for each of us. Without even stopping to consider what I was doing, I downed the bourbon and let out a slow sigh, observing the souls before me with pity that, if palpable, wouldn't even have filled the shot glass. Most of them looked pathetic; the bartender looked melancholy, and the Vortixx looked ready to shoot something if she didn't get drunk or distracted, pronto."Doubt it, though," I finished with a mutter.-Teezy

  • IC (Jin)I accepted the free drink without thinking about it, pouring it down my throat as quickly as the first. It's not like I was really desperate to drunk, per se, but I was just so terribly bored. The ferry to Xa didn't come until morning, and I was full up on sleep (not that I usually sleep much anyways). In Xa, of course, you could stay up all night and not even realize it was nighttime: the city's night-life was the envy of the island. And if the clubs and casinos didn't satisfy, there was always a fight brewing.Of course, Xa was only bearable when compared to the rest of the island. Where I came from... well, let's just say a girl never gets bored.I set the glass down on the counter. "Thanks for the drink," I said carelessly. "Such a gentleman. What brings a man like yourself to this wonderful little corner of the island?"

  • IC (Jin)I poured myself another drink from the Toa's bottle, figuring I might as well get as much free liquor as I could while the conversation lasted."With warrants, sure." I shrugged casually. "You can't get away from them in my line of work. But luck? I don't do luck."I drained my glass for the third time.

  • IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)"You should start," I replied, pouring another glass; the bottle was now a third of the way drained - I was a bit surprised at the size of the container, which was larger than I had expected; it wouldn't be a problem, but still, pretty big - and it was rapidly going down with every alternating shot the Vortixx and I took. The bartender was plopped down in the stool behind the counter, obviously trying not to look faded beyond any sort of belief. It would have worked had he not slid to the ground as though his chair were greased; the drunken sap lay there, drooling into the wooden floor and snoring slowly. "I've found that, when it does work, it works wonders."Shot four went down the hatch.-Teezy

  • IC (Jin)I briefly contemplated stealing a fresh bottle of booze while the the bartender was down and out, but decided to finish off what I'd started before opening another one. Also I was lazy. I admit it. Who cares about the alcohol behind the counter when you've got some in your hand?I poured shot number four into my glass, filling it to the brim."And when it doesn't? Then you're screwed. And, depending on your luck, it'll probably happen just when you need it most."I put the shot back as quickly as the first three."I prefer a nice sharp knife over luck. At least you know it's not going to turn to smoke when you're halfway to sticking it between someone's ribs."

  • IC: Utu - Ga-KoroUtu and Praggos walked into the bar, it was the third the pair had checked, hoping to find him in the last one they did. Although getting drunk wasn't something Utu had expected Dorian to be doing. Why did he even bother expecting anything from Dorian at all? He was one of the most unpredictable Toa Utu knew. Utu made a mental note not to expect anything concerning Dorian from now on.Utu strode across the bar, nearly empty, smelling of smoke. Thick. Not really the nicest bar in Ga-Koro. Not that the bars on this island, for the most part, were the most prestigious of places to hang out. It reminded him of the bar Yuru killed him in. Utu realized he should lower his standards. The Toa of ice silently sat down next to Dorian, taking his own drink in hand. Not really caring for the current conversation, nor able to come up with anything to say, he just sat there starting to drink on his own.He worried a little over the letter Utu stole from Arekule. Who was Echelon? And why was Arekule writing to him in the first place? By the sounds of things, the Administrator didn't care much for having correspondents, and Kearrstrun never mentioned anything of the sort. To Utu's understanding, it was just Arekule and Kearrstrun, always just Arekule and Kearrstrun. Or perhaps not. Arekule didn't always have just one assistant, according to him. Unless Arekule was in contact with somebody outside without Kearrstrun knowing.Utu washed the thought away with another glass of what tasted like rum.

  • IC: KynaeraNighttimeGa-Koro barFinding the other Daedra had been simple: Kynaera, her gait still smooth even when a distressed Dorian lay in her wake, had picked one of the bars closest to Ga-Koro's entrance and checked inside. Greed was conversing with someone; Kynaera didn't bother him as she picked a table between him and the door in protective reflex. The difficulties in Kynaera's mind lay with Dorian. It's gonna stop ticking eventually -- not Dorian's exact words, but the meaning behind them."Is there any way to reset it, or rewind it, or -- or something...?" Exact words. Dorian had shaken his head and explained (in a maddeningly placid tone) that while his Mark could increase his time left in existence, it could only do so in matters of seconds. The conversation had grown tense at that point; even Kynaera couldn't remember all the details, just that she had double-checked her heart-shaped box to ensure it was locked as she turned her back on Dorian and exited. He had called something after her. She had ignored his plea to stay calm. She was already glacial. What more did she need to do?Not upset, just confused. Not upset, only confused. After ordering a small glass of a weak alcoholic beverage, Kynaera formed her fingers into a steeple and analyzed both Greed and his conversation partner.

  • ICI saw Cael smile, a contemplative yet reassuring look on her face. "A vision, and the first Toa Stone seen in years. I don't know Mata Nui's plans, but he must have something special in store for you." You have no idea, I thought as the conversation between myself and Takua flashed before my eyes. I looked back at her, eyes furrowed. How did she do it? She always knew what to say, how to say it, and when. She had a gift of words, wisdom, and cheerfulness that was truly astonishing, well-hidden behind a facade of serious professionalism. As I studied her eyes and the ocean they portrayed I wondered if it came from spending all that time with Gali, possibly the greatest and wisest Ga-Toa that ever lived. I myself had been too young to fully appreciate their coming until after they had already vanished."Cael, may I ask you something?""Yes?" she asked quizzically."You are an experienced Toa. You have lived in this region your whole life. Studied under Gali, mastered your element, then became a healer. You have since perfected that art of healing, opened your own thriving clinic, saved many people and helped hundreds more. You have a wealth of wisdom, knowledge, and humility that far surpasses anyone I've met yet, a large circle or good friends and acquaintances, and a solid reputation. In other words you are a good, upstanding, dare I say normal person with and exciting and promising life and career in front of you. Yet, despite all this, you have dropped everything, put you life on hold, to apparently make sure I don't fall to pieces. I've... I've never met anyone like that before; I'd sure never do it. Why? Why would a beautiful, intelligent, and gifted woman such as yourself bend over backwards to help me?"I paused as the real question formed. "What would you gain from this?"

  • IC:Further down the beach, Wiremu sat on top of a round, warm stone. The Onu-Matoran's fingers toyed unconsciously, anxiously, with a seabird's feather as he dolefully watched Joske. Today, Joske was somewhat less surrounded than normal by intrigued strangers - this surge of new attention was a trend Wiremu had noted with as much wary suspicion as shameful envy - but even despite the relative break in admirers, the freshman Toa of Fire still hadn't tried to look for his former companion, as far as Wiremu knew; indeed, he didn't notice Wiremu's earth-armored self when it was framed by a tan-washed beachhead just a few yards away. Wiremu rolled his shoulders forward, hoping to ease some of the strain in his back muscles. It wasn't a great feeling to have been completely disregarded since Joske's transformation in favor of new and more exciting friends. Wiremu could admit that he was a little miffed. But he stopped himself; he was being too harsh on Joske, he knew that. After all, Joske had been mysteriously and instantly transformed from a Kolhii champion to Mata Nui's champion, and who was Wiremu to understand that? He had no idea what it must've felt like; it wasn't the kind of change that happened often on the island.Whether his companion was changed or not, Wiremu still found something wrong with how Joske, as soon as he'd regained consciousness, hadn't even paused to ask somebody the whereabouts of the Onu-Matoran he'd been with. And over the course of almost three days since then, unwittingly trailed at a distance by that very Onu-Matoran, Joske still hadn't bothered to try and find Wiremu. Wiremu had always known that he wasn't as important to Joske as Joske was to him, but it nevertheless stung to learn how large the care-gap had been. He'd always told himself that Joske was his friend... But then again, what kind of crazy engineer would delude himself into thinking that he was valued by a Kolhii star? Or, for that matter, a Toa?Wiremu wasn't a confident person, and he too polite for his own good. He hadn't dared to approach Joske because he didn't want to intrude. The thought of confronting the new Toa, who had once lazed on this very beach with him, was suddenly an impossible one. Things were changed. Wiremu kept watching from his distance, twirling the bent feather between his fingers.

  • IC (Cael)The Toa of Water was silent for a while after Joske's question. She gazed out over the ocean, contemplating. What did she stand to gain by this? Most of what Joske had said was true, though she would be loath to admit it in regular conversation. The fact is, she was a great healer, well known in Ga-Koro and even beyond. She had a solid job doing something she enjoyed, and it enabled her to help hundreds of people. Most Toa could only dream of having such a positive impact. So why was she putting that on hold for this one Toa? Her job was well and truly done; no one could say any different. First she had rescued him from the brink of death, healing injuries that would have most doctors throwing their hands in the air. Then she had helped him find some semblance of control in the wake of his transformation, putting her own safety at risk to try and bring him some semblance of balance. She had offered him a bed to sleep in and a roof over his head. Through the lost tempers and the accidental destructions of property, she had stuck by him, helping him find peace in the face of overwhelming uncertainty. She didn't have to be here. If she had left after healing him, that would have been enough. But instead, she had chosen to stay with him, even when he found a mentor, Agni, whom anyone could see was a better teacher for the rookie Toa of Fire than a Toa of Water who knew little outside of healing. She didn't have to be here now, helping him find balance. Surely there were better teachers elsewhere on the island; surely there were mentors and gurus and trainers and advisors who could do Joske far more good than she ever could. And yet, here she was, sitting on the beach with Joske, after all this time. Why?Most of all, Cael found it incredibly presumptuous of herself to be here. To think that she had any business whatsoever in teaching an impatient Toa of Fire anything. She was a healer; she knew nothing about fighting and little more about meditation. Why was she here? The answer came to her out of a memory: one of a passionate speech, full of fire and anger, that had reminded her of things she had long forgotten. She had never forsaken the Toa Code (she was a healer, after all), nor had she ever pursued her own interests rather than those of the general populace. But, still, after spending so long as just another healer, she had almost forgotten what it meant to be a Toa. Then that Toa, that passionate speaker, had reminded her:"Toa are the epitome of matoran, the great heroes of the past and legends that are supposed to protect us, train us, teach us along with the turaga. You are supposed to have a strict ethical code, a moral compass, a passion to save those that cannot save themselves! You don't kill intelligent beings unless absolutely necessary; you avoid sneaking around and fighting at night so that we the Matoran YOU defend could see your deeds and not become suspicious! You don't betray your opponents, uphold justice, defend the Matoran you were sworn to protect! Not only that but when a new generation arises it is your duty to pass on what you can so that they may continue to uphold banner that YOU are supposed to be carrying. This is what you were sworn to do when you became one, and breaking the Toa code was punishable by losing the title of Toa and the respect of other Toa! This is what we were taught, what we expected, what we knew! It may be hard, lonely, and thankless, but your sacrifices is what kept the rest of us safe, our society prosperous, and our beliefs firm." It was Joske who had reminded her. Reminded her of why she had been chosen, out of hundreds of Matoran, to become so much more: to carry on a legacy far greater than herself. It didn't matter that she was Cael, a Toa of Water, a healer, a resident of Ga-Koro. It didn't matter that she knew nothing about fighting, or even much about teaching. What mattered was that she was a Toa, and it was her responsibility to pass on the little she knew to the next generation."...when a new generation arises it is your duty to pass on what you can so that they may continue to uphold the banner..."If Cael was honest with herself, she wanted to stick by Joske partly because she wanted to see what he would do. His vision, alongside receiving the first Toa Stone in countless years, proved that there was something special about him. The healer had known the hope the Toa Mata had brought, and had felt that hope crushed when her heroes descended into the Kini-Nui and never emerged. Now, so many years later, she couldn't help but feel the ashes of hope begin to warm again. But with that hope came her duty as a Toa to pass on what little knowledge she had. As a Toa, she was called to do not what was best for herself, but what was best for the Matoran. Staying in Ga-Koro and spending the rest of her life as a healer was an admirable and perfectly acceptable future, but as she looked at Joske, she saw a Toa who could do more good than she ever could: he could restore hope.As a Toa, it was her duty to pass on what she knew to Joske, to prepare the next generation in whatever small way she could for the task Mata Nui had given them. But that was only part of the reason why she was here. Her feelings towards this whole situation were complicated, to say the least, and she didn't really understand them herself. She liked Joske. He was charming and funny, and easy to be around. It had been a long time since Cael had had real friends, and Joske seemed to fill that place so naturally. It was a selfish reason, she knew: putting her life on hold just so she could have another moment as a normal person. Not a healer, not a doctor, not even as a Toa, but as a friend. She didn't know if Joske thought of her that way. For all she knew, he saw her as a healer and a teacher and that was it, and as soon as he had learned all he could from her, he would leave without a second thought. But the possibility that Joske was her friend promised enough of the semblance of normalcy that she found it hard to resist. Was that the extent of her feelings? Hardly. But so much of it could be summed up in the simple fact that being with Joske gave her purpose, but in the literal sense of having a purpose in teaching and guiding him and caring for him, as was her job description, but also in the sense that Joske gave her hope, and the possibility that he had a greater purpose made her want to be a part of that purpose, and see it come to fruition if she could. How could she say all this, though? She hardly understood it herself, and she doubted Joske would understand much of it. Number one rule of a healer: only tell patients what they need to know. Even though she knew Joske wasn't a patient, she still didn't want to overload him or scare him away. Finally, she broke the silence."I don't know," she said simply. "I... I just feel like this is where I need to be. You still need guidance. If I can provide that, then it's my job, as a healer and a Toa, to do so."

  • Ic: Anthyn crossed her legs and looked dead at Greed for several long seconds before laughing and throwing her head back. "Is that what you say to every woman you meet?" she asked him caustically. Some people told jokes to break the ice, others acted silly or tried to be the cutie pie. Anthyn, however, wasn't going to fall victim to stereotypes or expectations. She was a single woman who had unexpectedly washed ashore with six dudes admiring her shelves; who knew what they were thinking inside their perverted little simple minds. She was at a serious disadvantage, and somehow she understood that she had to be both seductive and resistant at once. She was not truly a toa or a native, she was an extra-dimensional being brought into the flesh by unnatural means, and she had to assert herself as someone above the rest, different and presumptuous. She glanced at Greed and immediately turned her eyes to the table for an instant before leveling them back at Greed's face. "Let's be clear here," she said in an authoritative but soft tone that melted into the gentle ambiance of the restaurant seamlessly, "I don't know you or you I. We've never met and probably wouldn't have if that hag didn't bring me to you. Now I'm not going to dance to your beats, sing your songs or take your tips, but I'm looking for some good company for a change. So make your move, Mister Caballero, and show me why I should even bother to hear your insincere and devious colloquy for any longer than that tray to return and ask me if I want something to drink."Antagonism never looked or sounded so freaking sexy in Greed's life.

  • IC (Greed)Yes. This was her.Greed's number one rule, his cardinal rule, was thus: look after your own interests. It was a testament to this woman's character that she had him dangerously close to breaking his sole commandment. He could tell she was dangerous; some sixth sense at the back of his brain warned him to stay away; some vestigial instinct whispered of fear and shadows and pain, but all the same, he wanted her.He was Greed, of course; he wanted everything. Money, women power... he wanted it all. But he never went after what would be dangerous to him. That isn't greed; that's stupidity. Greed is the desire for all things valuable. Harm isn't valuable; injury isn't valuable. This Toa reeked of these things. She carried herself with power, but despite everything the Toa of Air could feel and see of her, he wanted her.But he hid that, for now. Instead, Greed reached for his glass and took another drink, maintaining control over the situation. The winner was always the man who had nothing to lose (or appeared thus). This Pa-Toa was trying to look as though she had nothing at stake, that Greed should move at her beck and call. But if she truly had no interest, she wouldn't have sat down. In the same way, however, she refused to play Greed's game. In reality, they were on an equal playing field. The Toa of Air set the frosty glass down on the table, then leaned forward, his eyes on Anthyn's."My name is Greed. I am named thus because I am greedy. It's not a name I use to look powerful or dangerous; it's who I am."You won't be impressed at this; you shouldn't be. We all know that everyone is greedy at heart. The merchant selling his wares, the businessmen selling shares, the warlord who deals in blood and skulls; everyone wants what is best for them."A ghost of a smirk hovered on Greed's lips. "The difference between them and I is that I do not posture. None of us do."He gestured around the table. "Look around you. We are criminals; we are scum. We are the greedy, the lazy, the arrogant, and the envious. We are the scraps that society has chosen to sweep under the rug, hoping that out of sight means out of mind. It doesn't. All it has done is freed us from the rules, and made us... angry.""We do not posture because we have nothing to gain from it. Nor do we have anything to lose. And that, my dear, is what makes us dangerous. That is what makes us... interesting."Rapid footsteps on the wooden floor signaled the waiter's approach. The Toa of Air smiled charmingly; he had nothing to lose. He couldn't have anything to lose, or he would lose it. And Greed hated losing."What would you like to drink?"IC (Jin)I downed the drink, then looked sideways at the Toa. He was pretty sharp for a guy who seemed determined to drown himself in bourbon. Then again, so was I. Who knew I wasn’t alone in the world? Some guy sat himself down on the other side of the Toa of Iron. I ignored him: Mother always taught me to pay attention to one person at a time, and I was busy alternating between the Toa and the liquor.I poured myself another shot; the bottle was only about a quarter full now.“So, mind if I ask your name?”

  • IC - Decaia - Restaurant/Bar: Decaia, meanwhile, had lost interest in the conversation the moment the Toa had begun speaking--and not for the reason that she probably assumed. Whereas the others seemed to have developed absolute lust for her the moment they laid eyes on her figure, throwing them (sans Greed, smooth as before) in a sort of daze, Decaia's heart had only room for one person--dead as they were.So--whether accidental or as a response to the way that this woman seemed so quick to throw insults around, a habit Decaia found rather detestable, and which contrasted greatly with her 'delicate' appearance--he found reason to disregard virtually every charm that she seemed to be using, finding some way in which it paled in comparison to Seyza's characteristics.Ignoring the pair completely now, he turned to Nokth, crossing his arms and leaning back slightly in his chair. "That was quick," he said simply. "I take it you've gathered our new travel arrangements by now... Hope you don't mind..."His tone implied otherwise.

  • Ic: The waitress hovered above Anthyn, waiting for her to make her order. Anthyn kept staring at Greed through analytical eyes, unwavering and untrusting. She wiped her left cheek with her right thumb as if it were a razor as she thought about Greed, and while the waitress still stood silently for people to make their requests, nobody moved a muscle. All eyes and minds were directed right at the Toa of Plasma seated away from everyone else and waited expectantly for her to either stay or go. Except for the blue toa, that was; his side jabber almost threw everyone's concentration off.She finished wiping her cheek and smiled at Greed before looking up at the waitress, if only to show that she acknowledged her presence. She didn't say anything, though and turned down again to Greed and the others. "Well, I was right in calling you devious," she said. "And deceitful, too. You call yourselves interesting because you're 'dangerous.' What makes you think a naughty boy is what I'm after? To tell you the truth, I'm not interested in how dangerous you or your friends are because I'm dangerous." Her smile never faded, and somehow she seemed almost gleeful as she spoke. "See, I can take this knife," -- she pronounced it as kniffee as she picked the butter knife up from the table-- "slice your head off and shove my boot down your throat so far I'd mulch your liver to mincemeat." BAM, she slammed the knife into the solid table and it disappeared through a hole, clattering on the floor under the table. The waitress stepped back in shock from this dialogue and display. "So if you think danger is going to keep me glued to my seat, you're going to have to find something better.""Is... is something wrong?" the waitress stammered, face red with chagrin."Honey, this isn't my group," Anthyn explained to the girl with the vocal caressing of a loving mother. "I rather hate these people, but thank you for bringing me to them." The girl whimpered, unsure what to make of the debacle she inadvertently stirred. In her, Anthyn saw the poor, weak, pliable ideals of womankind expected of her. She detested that; the soft smile she had was laced with the unkind cruelty she derived from the treatment of lower beings as the animals she perceived them as. "I'll have a Bloody Mary, but hold that order." She held a clenched fist to her side as she turned back to Greed. He had one last shot at sustaining Anthyn's presence. This better be good.

  • IC, Perkahn:(Library, Ga-Koro)Perkahn, who for obvious reasons (namely looking for that Toa of Ice this same Kaithas had previously mentioned) was alongside Airu, suddenly shuddered and coughed, turning Airu's attention to himself. "Wasn't that the same guy we met out in the streets? That guy who challenged Dorian to a drinking contest and kept repeating it like some sort of great achievement?"

  • IC:Agni nodded quietly, returning Valria's hug with a strong embrace of his own. He knew there was little he could say to pursuade her to stay. And what little he could say would hardly sway her. So he stood, silently, raising a hand as a final goodybe, for now, to one of his closest friends. He hoped that, in time, she would find the peace of mind she was searching for. And that he would see her again when that time came. A small smile crept onto his face. He was already looking forward to that day. He quietly continued to stay on the beach for what must have been another hour, before he finally started moving again, back towards the village. He joined in with the small trickle of people moving toward the village of water, still keeping to himself and his thoughts while around him conversations went back and forth between the Matoran walking nearby. Soon, the floating village was in plain sight, the lightstones dotting the huts like small stars in the evening, inviting in any that came in peace. Agni stopped again in his tracks, stepping off of the well-worn path, into the shadow of a palm-tree, taking in the scenery for a few more minutes. With Mef safely on his final journey, a feeling of calmness and momentary serenity spread throughout his body, despite the sadness of parting ways with Valria. Agni breathed in deeply and tried to enjoy the feeling as he walked. His doubts had not disappeared, nor the knowledge that he had definitely made mistakes in the past weeks, but he could start the process of finding closure now. He would have to account for what had happened on the boat eventually and he would have to face Jaller. But he knew that this adventure was now over; and the next one was already waiting for him. Now, where to find Joske? Cael had mentioned practicing somewhere outside of the village. Reasonable, considering the volatile nature of fire as an element. Agni turned is attention away from the huts of Ga-Koro and instead began to scan the beach outside for signs of the two other Toa. If Cael and Joske were practicing with his element, it should not be too hard to spot...there. Well away from the lightstones of the village, the Toa of fire saw a flickering light cut through the dusk. "There you are..." Agni said to himself and started to walk in the direction the light was coming from. As he got closer the small flame danced on the soft breeze, without ever going out. Perhaps it was the nature of a Toa of water, or just the time they had spent together, but Cael definitely had definitely gotten to Joske somehow and found a way to help him focus his energies. Agni made a mental not to properly thank her for her help later. He quietly approached them, until he was just a few feet away.He nodded at Joske and Cael as a friendly greeting, before sitting down and crossing his legs. "I see you are doing well." he said, smiling casually.

  • IC:Miha"Why would I?" Miha yelled back, continuing to run even though she was getting slowed down. "I said I wanted to quit but you guys won't let me!" Eventually Zealokan's elemental power over motion overwhelmed Miha's determination powered sprinting, and Miha collapsed to the ground. Or, she would've, if Zealokan had stopped absorbing motion. As it was, she was stuck in an awkward pose. Oh well, that almost worked. Miha sighed to herself. If only Zealokan was as incompetent at chasing me as he is when he chases almost anybody else. Time for Plan B."Hello, this is Iris speaking." Iris!Miha called out, her voice a distorted version of Miha's. "I, Iris the Virus, challenge Havon, leader of the Hau Karda, to a fight. The winner gets to keep Miha. The looser has to stop bothering her."OOC:Just realized why Iris doesn't speak all that often. I disliked the bright red color I had chosen for it. :P

  • IC"I don't know," she finally said. "I... I just feel like this is where I need to be. You still need guidance. If I can provide that, then it's my job, as a healer and a Toa, to do so."It had been a long minute. After I had asked the poser she seemed to have taken a mental step back as she processed the question, her eyes darting back and forth as if re-living a memory, or several for that matter. Cleary she herself didn't know, and by the demeanor of her body it was quite the soul-searching experience. Still I could see when she finally came to an answer, and to be honest I truly expected some deep, philosophical, and profound masterpiece to come pouring off her lips.Instead she said that. Somehow though I was not disappointed."I can accept that." I said with a half-smile. "I appreciate the honesty. Mata-Nui knows there isn't a lot of it going around." There was a lot more I wanted to say, like how impressed I was with her answers, how she can convey an ocean of meaning in a short sentence or two, how much I appreciated the work and effort she was putting into me. I could sense there was more to it than that, but for some reason I felt comfortable with her not telling me. Maybe it was the healer confidentiality that brought this on, the trust that came with it even though it was possible that I was only being told part of the story, only what I needed to know.Regardless, was only the second person I felt I could trust completely. Before I could put any of that into words however, there was a slight clearing of a throat. Angi had arrived, nodding at both myself and Cael in friendly greeting before sitting down, crossing his legs in the sand like us. "I see you are doing well." he said, smiling casually, apparently pleased I was not torturing innocent trees or other flammable objects. Seeing him here snapped my mind back to the task at hand; I had always prided myself that I could effortlessly and instantly switch between trains of thought. You needed to in Kohlii; otherwise the field might change and you would be trailing behind as events moved past you."Look what I can do!" Bringing my hands together in a diamond shape once more I focused in the center, looking within myself as I did so. Hastily I was rewarded with a candle-sized jet of flame hovering with my finger diamond. I was instantly relaxed as the controlled flame burned brightly, my mind and body now in a meditative setting. After a few moments I banished it, looking through the space in my hands at Agni. Before I could register his face I noticed something just past his head. There was a dark, earth-colored discoloration on the sand behind him, not just a few yards away. It took me a moment to register that it was matoran-sized, then another to realize it actually was a matoran. I blinked once."WIREMU!?"The angle that Agni had come from wasn't where my gaze had ever went that morning, so I had never noticed him sitting there. At this instance however I simply reacted, my body moving faster than my mind was at the moment. I also didn't notice, or even register in any facility, that my mask began to glow brightly. BAM! I went from sitting on the sand to right in front of Wiremu near instantaneously, a trail of sand floating in air and a line in the beach between the two points, Cael and Angi lost in a dark, dusty cloud where I once sat. Using the momentum I went past Wiremu slightly, grabbing his chest piece with one hand and literally slinging him in the air. I caught him as he came down and I stopped moving, wrapping the smaller matoran in my much-larger arms, giving him a huge that would make an Ash Bear proud as his stubby legs dangled mid-air."Wiremu! You're alive! You made it out ok! Oh by the Spirit I'm so happy to see you! I'd kiss you but that would be extremely awkward not to mention wrong on so many levels."
