IC-Nokth:Nokth grunted in reply to Decaia, the easiest noncommital response, to most of what he had said."I didn't have to think long," he said, giving an explanation as to why he had been gone such a short time. "And they shouldn't be much trouble, so long as we keep our heads."
IC (Greed)Greed laughed. He laughed. He chuckled, then broke into guffaws; his laughter rang through the restuarant, which had dropped into deathly silence after Anthyn's outburst. He sat back, and finished with a long chortle. The Toa of Air smiled, still chuckling softly, circling one finger lazily around the rim of his glass as he looked back at Anthyn. "I told you already, my dear: we don't posture. Any one of us could have slipped a knife between your ribs swiftly and quietly as you sat down, but we don't feel the need to show it off. No one here is impressed by your display of violence, save the poor waitress, who will probably need therapy after tonight."No, as I said, none of us here posture because none of us have anything to gain or lose. That is what makes us unteresting, not the fact that we are dangerous. Good heavens- if being dangerous made you interesting, then every lout carting around a sword would be interesting, when in reality they are a dime a dozen, most as dull as a stick of wood."What does interest me, however, is how similar you are to these people you hate. Like us, you refuse to be bound by the common rules of society. Birds of a feather flock together, or so they say, so instead of trying to get ahead by putting knives through tables, why not join the people who are most like you? If you want to prove how incredibly dangerous and deadly you are, then, instead of making empty threats, come with us and show the world what you are capable of."
IC: Lathon"My name is Toa Lathon." he said, his emerald eyes focusing on Kaithas. Suddenly Kaithas seemed to go into another state of mind like he was seeing something that wasn't there. "A Toa Maasi?" he said, confused. He looked at Merla and then back at Kaithas, "I think I'm missing something." he said. "But yes I am hunting a person, a Toa of Plasma who was responsible for the death of an entire village." he said. "I plan to kill him, like how I killed his goons so long ago." Lathon said, a flash of him stabbing one of the Skakdi to death tearing through his mind.
IC - Decaia - Restaurant: "And they shouldn't be much trouble, so long as we keep our heads."Decaia glanced at Greed's companions as Nokth said this, boredly observing their expressions at the Plasma Toa's actions--which, frankly, weren't all that different from the expressions they had had before. He sighed, shaking his head. "Easy enough for me; I only wish the rest of the world was so right-minded... Poor table--that is mahogany, after all... but I suppose I'm the only one who sees the tragedy here..." The Toa of Water turned back, setting the feet of his chair back on the floor. He looked at the waitress, his relatively casual attitude contrasting greatly with the shock and surprise on her face. "Well, no matter... I'll take something lemony. Non-alcoholic, if you don't mind..."Aside from his solemn mourning for the 'poor table's' injury, Decaia made no indication that he had heard or was listening to Greed and the Pa-Toa's discussion--and, frankly, almost seemed to have decided that they weren't there anymore. She, he decided, is not the kind of person that I will ever get along with... More sarcastically, What a shame...
IC: I shrugged. "The Maasi is my Toa team. We have no idea as to our purpose yet, however." I glanced at Lathon. "Well, I for one will help you find your quarry, seeing as we are still missing the last member of our team. I'm pretty sure I can convince the others to help as well." I looked at the library. "Just gotta get done with this."
IC: MalikI tightened my grip as the Ve-Toa struggled against my arms. I made sure not to hold too tight though, I didn't want to hurt her. "Woah there, easy now. No one here wants to hurt you. Just calm down." I said, in a soothing voice, trying to calm her down. As I looked down into her eyes, what I found was startling. Her face was one of pure terror, I'd never really seen that in anyone. Sure I may have frightened a few people here and there, but for the most part I just brought smile, and on top of that, I never, ever, incited pure terror in some one. To be honest it was a bit frightening, what sort of horrible things had this poor Toa gone through that left her so scared? I will bring a smile to your face.
IC: LathonLathon nodded, "Thank you." he said. "To be part of team of Toa..." he said. "That would be wonderful... maybe that's what I need to become right with myself again." he said. "I travel with a Matoran companion named Nawal." Lathon said. "Would it be okay if he tagged along for a bit? Perhaps he could be our Chronicler?" Lathon asked. "How did you get in trouble with the police?" he asked.
IC: Savina - Near the Le-Wahi Border, Ga-koro -Savina began to slow in her struggling, not so much because Malik was trying to calm her, more so that she didn't have the strength anymore to resist. She had so much adrenaline pumping through her veins she couldn't think straight anymore, her chest heaved as she began to catch her breath, she was practically choking from running so hard. She closed her eyes and began to black out, her fear being trumped by her need to rest.
IC: "I tried covering for a starving Toa that had stolen some mangoes. And yes, your Matoran friend can tag along. In fact," I glanced at Yick. "We might have a Skakdi coming with us." I turned to Yick. "Please don't tell me you left Nidiak lying in the street."
IC: MalikAs the Toa began to calm down, I slowly began to ease her down towards the sand. If she was going to rest she may as well lie down. "Rest easy," I whispered softly in her ear, "rest your nerves so tomorrow you can awake to bright new day." After laying her down, and she began to fall asleep, I stood up and looked up towards the sky.
IC: Lathon"A Skakdi?" he said, an angry look coming into his eyes. It had been Skakdi who had savaged Ihu-Koro and murdered each of the Matoran in the village in cold blood. It had been four Skakdi that Lathon had attacked, killing each of them without mercy. He could never fully trust another Skakdi after that day, it would never be the same. "Its good that he is allowed to come with us." Lathon said nodding. "Nawal is a good friend." he said.
IC: "Yick hates everything, but he won't kill anyone. I HOPE." I glared at Yick, waving my plant sword threateningly.
IC (Revor):Revor overheard Zharuk saying somthing about Skanohi, and being hunted. He had earlier lost him due to his duisgise, but refound him. He traveled far behind and went to Ta-Koro.OOC: Revor to Ta-Wahi
Ic: Anthyn paused to think again. She had made an error by trying to prove a point, trying to be too far to the strong attitude side; she had to come down a notch. Strategy, she understood, was in all things and everything from how one walked to how one fought had strategy in it, and talking was right smack dab in the middle of those two things. She was definitely sparring with someone who could talk. She wasn't going to play a game, but not his.She released her fist indicating the order of a Bloody Mary was a go, "And add a reuben sandwich. Mister Grinch here just offered to pay for me," she said, meaning Greed."If any dandy with a sword was dangerous your argument might hold water, but it isn't the weapon that makes someone dangerous, it's how you use it." She slithered forward and placed her elbows on the table as she leaned. "I think I've already shown the world what I am capable of without your lot, but you know what? I think your little speech is just interesting enough for me to see what you do next. What sort of shenanigans could the misfits and mistake children of this world pull off that would spread their ghastly word, I wonder? I wonder."
IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)I flicked my eyes over to the left and saw Utu, but gave no knowledge that his presence even remotely mattered to me, which it didn't. I'd deal with the Mark Bearers later; for now, Bad Company was calling my name, and with it, some loose ends that needed to be cut away and cast to the ground where they belonged. This woman, this Vortixx, seemed to fit into my plans like a puzzle piece, tucked away inside its box and left to madden the owner as he searches for it fruitlessly."My name's Dorian," I replied, taking a quick shot and pouring two more.-Teezy
IC: Savina - Near the Le-Wahi Border, Ga-koro -After many hours of sleeping, Savina began to stir, groaning softly as slowly sat up and slowly became aware of her surroundings. As she woke up she tried to recall what she had been doing before she fell unconscious, then she remembered the Toa of Iron who had stopped her..She quickly became a alert and searched for him intently...if he was still here she'd have to make her escape quickly...
IC:Wiremu was caught entirely off guard by Joske's Kakama-powered mad dash towards him. Before the Onu-Matoran could even think to react, he had been snagged by a super-fast force, swung wildly by his own inertia, and then snapped back towards Joske to be smothered by a titanic hug. Wiremu tried to say something, but the wind had been knocked out of him. At some point Joske must have noticed this, because he set Wiremu down on the ground again. The Onu-Matoran struggled for enough air to speak. "Alive?... Not for much longer, I'm not," Wiremu wheezed, still reeling from Joske's wild salutation. "You couldn't have just... waved?"
IC:The corners of Agni's mouth traveled upward slightly as he watched the small flame Joske had summoned. Whatever Cael did had worked wonders. It burned cleanly, without flickering or inconsistent size. The young Toa was right in the moment and focused on what he was doing. It was quite the contrast to the uncontrolled temper and flashes of fire from earlier in the morning and it looked like he wouldn't let himself get distracted anymore. Agni was about to say as much when Joske suddenly leapt up, mask powered. The next instant he had raced past the two of them. The Toa of fire looked over his shoulder, even as he rose from the sand in a fluid motion. Joske had dashed across the beach like a raging Kane-Ra and swiped a Matoran that had quietly sat in the shadow of a few trees off of his feet and flung the unlucky one into the mother of all hugs. Agni couldn't tell who it was from this distance and with the Matoran buried in the arms of the younger Toa, but he had a suspicion. It was a well-known fact on Mata Nui and especially in Ta-Koro that the stars of Kolhii had little trouble finding comfort in the arms of females. And from what he knew, Joske probably had the least trouble picking up girls out of all the people Agni was aquainted with. With a 'tsk' on his lips and an amused headshake, he started to jog after Joske. After all, he was curious who had such an effect on the former Kolhii-ace that he'd literally drop everything just by being in sight of him. After a few running steps, he stopped about a meter away from the two."Wiremu! You're alive! You made it out ok! Oh by the Spirit I'm so happy to see you! I'd kiss you but that would be extremely awkward not to mention wrong on so many levels."Agni had been about to say something, something witty, a small dig at Joske's admittedly impressive charming-skills, when the name sunk in. Wiremu... Agni's mouth, that had been slightly disengaged in preperation of uttering the aforementioned joke snapped shut again. His mind flashed through the few memories he had of reading the name in reports about incidents in Onu-Koro and a skilled engineer there who's inventions made life easier all over the island. And he was most definitely not a girl. The Toa of fire almost bit his tongue. But the few seconds of awkward silence passed unnoticed, as Joske finally let go of the Onu-Matoran. "Alive?... Not for much longer, I'm not," Wiremu wheezed. "You couldn't have just... waved?"Able to speak again, Agni cut in from the side. "Well, he is still getting used to being in a body twice the size of what he's used to...we'll get him to wave eventually."
IC: Bruntoa - Ga-koro -Bruntoa sprinted after Rannin as they both headed out the gate and onto the beach. "So..." He began as they trended sand and dirt. "What are we gonna do with her when we find her? She seemed like a really timid thing."IC: Havon - Ga-koro -"I accept!" Havon shouted as he marched toward Miha. "On the condition that you leave her body forever if I win."
IC (Dekuna): After a few minutes, Dekuna was able to pry himself up off the lillypads and stand up again. Even though his ears were firmly encased in a field of silence, they were still ringing from the inside. He got up and slowly moved in the direction Miha had taken, eventually coming across her and Havon, who were exchanging words he couldn't hear.
IC:Iris!Miha"Deal!" I was getting tired of your wimpy body anyways. I get enough pain and torment from my original host's body. Oh shut up. At least I don't have a name as stupid as 'Iris the Viris.' "Note that this is going to be a 1 on 1 fight. No getting help from your friends."
[iC: Rannin]"We're recruiting her to help us with the obstacle course," he replied as he continued running.
IC-Nokth:Right after Decaia: "Lemonade for me."
IC: YickYick smirked at Kaithas. "I only hurt people who irritate me. Now, as for these law enforcers, perhaps I can make them see reason." He cracked his knuckles.
IC:: "NO YICK. I would like to be able to walk around Ga Koro without seeing my face on wanted posters."
IC: Rynekk Simul - Beach"Ay, ay, captain!" Rynekk called back, re-activating his Kakama, and speeding back over to the Fowadi. With a quick, well-timed leap, I managed to leap up onto the deck using the forward momentum I had gained from my run, landing directly on my mask in a less-than-stellar performance."Maybe I should just stop doing this..." I mumbled, still lying face-down on the wooden floor.-Void
IC (Jin)Dorian. Huh. I'd heard rumours here and there of this man, and had never suspected that one day I'd end up drinking with him. Maybe it was time start believing in luck after all.I poured the last of the bottle into my own glass, the last precious drops skittering down the inside and dripping precariously off the lip. My aim was perfect, even though I'd just polished off almost half the bottle."You're not a half bad drinking buddy, then, Dorian. I'm Jin."There were a good dozen descriptors I could tag onto my name, Vortixx extraordinaire and femme fatale among them, none of them inaccurate. Never sell yourself short, right? But I kept it short and sweet this time.
IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)Ahhhhh. Jin.I'd heard rumors, in turn, of this Vortixx as well. She was everything that Illicia had made herself out to be when she first joined Bad Company: beautiful, enthralling, and excellent in a fight, but without the weird little quirks that made Illicia a prime candidate to turn on the team. I had a test planned for that deer, sweet Vortixx, and if she failed, Bad Company would need new blood. Good new blood, too. Amateur hour was over; I'd proven that when I executed that turncoat second rate "assassin" Naryth. This girl had the right stuff."And you're not a half bad conversation starter, Jin."-Teezy
IC (Jin)I shrugged. "Comes with being a mercenary. I'm great at talking, but eventually I'm probably going to be paid to kill you."I drained my glass, and placed it down on the bar. In the same motion, I placed my hand flat on the counter, followed by other hand, and then I kicked off the stool and cartwheeled over the bar, landing on the other side. I stumbled a bit as my feet hit the floor, no doubt on account of the alcohol that was flooding my system. I stepped around the unconscious bartender and grabbed a second bottle off the shelf, setting it down on the bar with a thump.A twist, a pop, and I poured myself another drink.
IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)"You'll get paid to kill me," I replied smoothly, pouring my own drink and taking a shot with a mild sigh. "Doesn't mean you'll actually do it."I turned haphazardly to see if the bartender was still breathing and watched as he twitched a bit, mumbling something about his tip and grabbing for the bar. I sighed and created a small iron club that jutted out from the floorboards and slammed into his temple, knocking him unconscious. With an innocent shrug, the club dissipated into iron dust and floated through the bar as I watched.-Teezy
IC"Ha ha ha. Aren't you a riot." I mumbled to Agni. Still, I didn't let his little jab fluster me in the slightest. "By the way, oh teacher, water waves; fire burns. So if you want one go talk to Cael. I'm sure she'd be more than happy to oblige." Before Agni could make any sort of reply I turned to my long-time friend, bending down on one knee so that we were eye level. I waited until he had brushed himself off and caught his breath before I said anything else. "Hey, sorry about that. I'm just real excited to see you. I mean, look at me; I'm a toa!" I spread my arms out, not that this fact wasn't already obvious. "I've just been on a wild gukko ride for the last few days, coming to grips that this transformation wasn't just physical, but mental and emotional as well. I'm still perfecting my balance, I now have wild mood swings, and if I'm not careful if I sneeze in anger a hut might blow up. Actually, that's been the worse part." I rubbed the bridge of my mask. "You have no idea what it's like, to have this power tied to emotions, emotions that aren't as controlled as they used to be. I've been running terrified that I might hurt or kill someone, not to mention I haven't been left alone other than sleeping... yeah, I know ironic; the fame-seeking Kohlii star wanting everyone to go away. I've barely had a chance to think let alone put my life back together, which at this point is so up in the air... I'm just glad you didn't get hurt in that Tarakava attack. I mean I WAS the one that dragged you all the way out here, and if you had gotten injured because of me-" I stopped mid-sentence, something in the back of my mind finally clawing it's way to the front. I slapped my forehead. "Of course! Where are my manners?" I shot up and spun around, facing the other two toa. "Agni, Cael, this is my very good friend Wiremu, famous Engineer and Inventor. Had to drag him by the mask to get him out here, introverted hermit that he is." I rubbed the top of his head like an older brother would do to his younger sibling. "Wiremu, this is Cael, a local healer and the Toa that saved my life; without her I would not be standing here today. And this is Agni, a, um, coworker-turned-instructor? I used to work with him the Guard every once in a while, and now he's going to train me in how to use my Toa power." I was going to say more, but that's when I noticed a rather peculiar trail of sand on the beach... that led right back to where I was sitting moments earlier. "How did... did I... I covered that space in... that doesn't make... I'm... confused."
IC (Jin)I watched in vague interest as Dorian knocked the bartender out, then took a drink, hardly tasting any alcohol. My body had become acclimatized to the taste over the past hour."True... although that would be a first." I set my glass down on the counter. "I haven't failed an assignment yet. Taking the money and running would be bad for my rep, not to mention I'd probavbly find some ugly goons knocking at my door somewhere down the road."I poured another shot."I prefer my men handsome, respectful, and not pointing a weapon at my throat."
IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)"At the risk of sounding conceited," I ventured smoothly, taking a sip of bourbon now and watching the bartender curiously, "it looks like, despite your lack of belief in luck, it's dropped by to keep an eye on you tonight, because, in my humble opinion, I happen to be all three of the things you just listed."I took a second to bite my lip before finishing off the rest of the shot."Like I said, not to sound conceited."-Teezy
IC (Jin)I laughed. It was partly the alcohol talking, but in the interest of honesty: it was mostly me. For not wanting to sound conceited, Dorian did a good job of selling himself.Giving him another once-over, I nodded. "Sure, I can agree with that. So far, at least." I poured myself another drink. "Time will tell if you end up pointing a blade at me eventually."
IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)"Well, if you're going to look at it like a cynic..." I drawled with a grin as I removed the scarf and put it in a vest pocket.I looked around at the bar and saw that it was now largely empty, save Utu, a couple drunks in various corner booths, and Sleeping Drooly on the floor. Someone should really do something about him, but a murder? Right here, right now? Not necessary, and let's face it, that guy would need serious psychological readjusting from a hit like that, anyway. He'd been through enough for one night.-Teezy
IC-Praggos:One person that Dorian seemed to miss was Praggos, who was sitting beside Utu, the larger Toa of Ice blocking him from view of Dorian, apparently, as he doodled something in his journal out of boredom.
IC (Jin)I smirked. "You believe in luck; I believe in cynicism. The world's a dangerous place for someone who looks for the best in people."Putting the glass to my lips, I drank it dry, then set it back down on the bar for the last time. I had a pleasant buzz going (and probably underestimated it, from what I knew of drinking), and some pleasant company was a better distraction than getting completely hammered. I did have a ferry to catch in the morning.IC (Greed)Greed smiled. “I’m glad you find us interesting enough to stick around. In all honesty, I’m sure I find you more interesting than you find me.”The waitress remained frozen by the table, looking scared and rather unsure of herself. Her eyes darted from the Le-Toa, Greed, to the Pa-Toa who had just stabbed a knife right through the table and now claiming that the man she’d just threatened was paying for her.Greed dismissed the cowering waitress with a flick of his hand. “It’s alright, sweetheart, don’t worry yourself. I’m paying. And I’ll have something as well: is the club sandwich any good?”The waitress nodded wordlessly.“Good, I’ll have that, then. Toasted. And a martini, dry.”The Toa of Air turned back to the Pa-Toa. “Now that we have all that unpleasantness out of the way, it might be nice to know your name. “
IC: Dorian (Bar, Ga-Koro)I groaned a little bit mentally and pushed the rest of the bottle away towards Utu and Praggos, giving them a look that told them not to follow me as I moved towards the door, holding it for the Vortixx."This was fun, Jin," I offered with an easy smile. "But, at the same time, I have to get to Xa-Koro by dawn, so..."-Teezy
IC (Jin)I raised my eyebows as I left the bar, Dorian holding the door for me. We walked out into the Ga-Koran night, which was black as karz, save for the light of a half-full moon and a sky full of stars. "Xa-Koro by dawn? Sounds like we'll be catching the same ferry."
Ic: Things were looking good finally, and the ground was even between the five men and herself. She liked even ground. "I'm Anthyn," she said. "Who are your jokers here?" she asked. She knew there existed people of other sins there, but did not know who they were or what the real names, if any, they held were.
