  • Ic: Calix user. Gotta be. Wonderful. "Jaus-kE-rr, if people wanted to see a battle of prose, they would have come to see us at a library. Instead here we are in front of this crowd who are chanting with their change, demanding bloodshed." He walked around the circle, arms outstretched. "You come to me here, in my house, in their patronage, and insult them with words? My man, you are either extremely sick or extremely misguided. Stop this blasphemy and do what the people paid to see."

  • IC: Draeverian Joskiir"Your house, huh? Do you know, I've got my house on the line with this little fight?" Draeverian said as he placed each step of Senegal's massive frame as the sound of his feat rippled through the ground."If you want to fight, I can give you one. I was just hoping mere words might make you done."Slowly, as if pained by the necessity, Draeverian sunk slightly into his knees and began to walk with the Brutal Bard, their slow movement forming a circle around the ring. Each stared at the other. One with eyes. One with sound.

  • Ic: "Then I'm sorry that you placed a wager such as that on a fight you knew nothing about and can't hope to win," Senegal said, almost sorrowfully. As he walked, he slowly closed the gap between him and DJ, narrowing the spiral ever so slightly with each step.

  • "Hm.. not bad," Draeverian muttered, feeling the ripples of sound become closer to his own. "I bet you'll win this. I'll lose my home too. I heard the scream of Kav'den. If only you could scream like that too..."Draeverian slid forwards straight to Senegal, his body a flexing blur as his right fist moved faster than rightfully allowed by nature; the punch's target the inside of Senegal's right armpit.

  • Ic: And so it began, Calix-user against Calix-user, bards and fighters. Senegal tried to do things subtly, but noooo, his opponent suddenly had a change of heart and wanted to dive right in.Woman.He deflected the first blow with his forearm, slid his other arm past DJ's second arm and snagged his upper arm from the inside in a vice grip. That's what you get for coming right up to me. "How does the funny man feel now, eh?"

  • OOC: Sweet, let's auto... I'm taking the liberty since you did too. :P It's how good RPing works... right? XDIC: Draeverian Joskiir"Actually, I'm doing great."Draeverian pulled his knees up to his chest and kicked outwards, landing a devastating blow to Senegal's chest. The pummeling knocked DJ free, and he flipped back, using the kick as momentum and counterpoint for the move, landing rightly on his feet just out of tackling range.

  • Ooc: It's not quite autohitting. DJ was right there, and the balance was set strongly against someone who can't even see. Plus, if you noticed, I may have said there was contact but didn't say what happened. Imagine my fights to be played out one frame at a time -- that's how I do, anyway. More detail, more freedom, and no autohitting.Ic: Senegal may have let go, but he still stood like an iron curtain, only an iron curtain with arms. Using a similar tactic to the one he devised on Kav'Den, he created a bat in his hand and swiped at DJ. He wasn't in range to hit him with his hands, but with a weapon -- easily.

  • OOC: Oh, I didn't mean the autohitting as a bad thing... I actually call any form of contact and "auto-hit" as it's making contact with someone. :P However, I think they're good and perfectly viable, like in the situation you just explained. I was harping, I was complimenting. XDIC: The baseball bat came out of left-field. The impact carried Draeverian upwards and sideways, his body spinning from the force of the blow. He hit the ground and rolled, no longer a pop-fly, and slowly came to a stop, the dust rising around him as he lay. "The karz.. KYaa.." -- Draeverian attempted to get up. Attempted -- "that's cheap."The pain in his ears was horrid. He had no idea where anything was, and if he was going to black out, or die first. Calm down, Drae. This is my fight. Get out of my head.

  • Ic: Senegal wasn't done yet, though, running up and slamming his club on DJ again, again, and again, not because he wanted to but because the audience demanded it. He was there to serve them. They wanted DJ stoned, and that's exactly what they got. Truth was, Senegal felt truly sorry for each strike and ended sooner than the people wanted him to, but he wouldn't hit him any more. Finally, he bent down and hefted DJ up with one arm and put his face close to the battered toa's blindfolded face. "You won't die today, Toa. Not here and not now. But I pray that you leave with two things in your head when you go back to what was once your home. First off, I want you to remember that the fighting ring is not the place for a romantic dandy like yourself. This is a place for men to pitch their muscles together and get the ladies' admiration from their tortured strikes. If you aren't prepared to spill blood and give winning a fair chance, don't even bother having nightmares about entering another ring battle."

  • In the wicked closeness of their breathe, Senegal could taste the copper on the edges of Draeverian's mouth where blood had begun to seep forth. Dented, Draeverian seemed to hang precariously in the Brutal Bard's grasp; a limp rag. His smile was freakish; a hellish twist of battered honor, broken pride and the shrapnel of dignity. Slowly, Draeverian's thick tongue rolled out the words, as if each were a million years, and only Senegal had the benefit of enjoying these precious moments."I even told her to shut up. I said I wasn't gonna' use her..."Draeverian's left hand shot forward and clasped to the toa of iron's supporting arm, wrenching his neck free as he stood on tattered legs. The music had stopped. Matoran no longer created a beat of sound. The silence was eerie as he teetered in the air, his body off-putting even in stance. His right hand raised, as if controlled by a puppeteer above, slowly alighting on the silver hilt of his sword."Karz Rivet, I guess you were right."The blade slid from it's sheath slowly, languidly, with a wrenching screech of opposing metals, the air pulsating with the sound. Draeverian reached for it in the darkness, reached for a cure to the pain inside his body, racking his bones, pumping fear through his brain. "I can't go back once she's drawn Senegal. I really didn't want to fight with her. Just words."The blade was facing forwards, pointed at the muscled man's chest. Widgets traded hands like cards, the sudden comeback of the wimp was pumping the bets through the roof for Senegal. A small mound of supportive and sympathetic gamblers placed a "lost cause" in the sound maker's winning pot. He shuffled forwards, letting the body he had move with cautious fluidity. I got beat for my arrogance. You got beat for your lack of judgment. You're right. I know you right. It's why I'm here... STRIKE!Draeverian lashed forwards, his body fully extended into a fencer's lunge, the massive tuning fork extending out far beyond the Toa's normal striking range in a deadly blur of sharpened fang.

  • IC: JLJL was just about to hit Vidar, when his Arthron pinged. Annoyed at the mental image of others simply staring and chatting about a battle, he tripped when he jumped, but caught himself in midair and managed to stay upright when he landed. He turned to where he had heard the newcomers around him.1 of them was asking Skyra a question, who was busy facing Echelon and some undead. Meanwhile, there were several other Toa, some of them running over, some of the watching from a distance. He turned towards where the farthest one was. Better to have everyone beside him than have people spying on him. Plus, it was really nerve racking. He sprinted past the battle, blasting a undead with electricity once, until he got out of the battle area. He moved through the trees until he found the 2 Toa who had simply been watching (Mataiti + Pulse).JL: Hey. I realize you guys have been, uh, watching. If you aren't servants of Makuta, perhaps you would help? A few friends of mine, including 1 delusional Toa of Air has been killed and then unkilled, stabbed in the back quite a lot of times. Lots of fighting, lots of people simply staring, and I don't like staring. Especially when there's the crazed undead-leader standing there. So.... help?

  • Ic: Senegal held his hands up as if in despair, praying to the heavens and whatever god listened to his bloody cries, but no smiting lightning came forth, no awesome energy reached down to relieve DJ of his attempt at redemption. Instead, twin bars emerged in Senegal's hands, bars just like the first one, long and straight, rounded to form a cylinder. So far, they were used only to bash and smash their way into the souls of enemies, but the truth was Senegal could employ them with the same grace he used his body with. The twin weapons snagged the fork-sword in a snare, and with a grating metal *shhiiiink!* the weapons slid on each other. If DJ still had fight left in him, Senegal was going to oblige even though he didn't finish his final monologue.

  • IC: Draeverian JoskiirSound was on his side. As the scraping metal leased sparks to the oxidized air, the ringing of its sound multiplied exponentially, turning into a bell-splitting scream as each wave wafted past Senegal's ears. Each wave came stronger then the last, with seemingly endless repetition of the torturous nerve-racking feeling brought as twin. With a shove, Draeverian disengaged Rivet from the block and swung sideways towards Senegal's neck, attempting a feint. His plan was now to simply follow the patterns of rippling waves. If he died or was injured, Draeverian no longer cared. It wasn't as if he could see injury anyways."I've got less years in the ring than you," he growled; "but I've not been a cradle babe either!"

Soon enough, the technicians came and dragged DJ out of the arena like they had several times already, leaving Senegal still standing, the unwavering victor of the afternoon.

  • IC: Pulse"If the delusional one's Proditor, then that's fine with me." Pulse said, activating his Tryna and reanimating the corpse of the Skakdi, before making it attack Echelon.IC: InvisibleOnce Invisible had gathered enough strength, he decided to make use of his Mahiki. He created the illusion of four more Toa, each completely one colour, and wearing a Hau, one black, one red, and one green. Each was holding a sword.IC: Proditor"Well, I wasn't really six feet underground for long. I got stuck in a Vortixx's subconscious, took over his body, left, found my grave empty and, all things considered, I'm a bit miffed." Proditor said, preparing a small tornado around Echelon, which would stop him moving left or right, then he made the air above press down to try and prevent movement up. He realised that it would take Echelon a lot of concentration to stay standing, so he finally finished off by sending a blast of Air at him to attempt to knock him off his feet."Although, I must admit, this is probably the best day of my death. I'm glad I'm getting a re-match."

Pulse would be stuck to a rotting corpse for the next several hours. Then, the Undead Toa of Air shot a tornado at him. It was all he could do, using his magnetic powers, to keep from being knocked over inside the whirling column of wind. And so, he did something simple. He shut off his mask. The forces keeping Proditor's body animated suddenly disappeared.Echelon turned away, laughing darkly - IC (Merror)And found himself face to face with Merror."You," said Echelon, his eyes narrowing.Merror raised his swords.Echelon acted immediately, sending a magnetic pulse into the Fire Toa's midriff.Merror was ready for it this time, his Calix already active, and he landed gracefully against a treetrunk. Leaping into the air and over Echelon's head, he sent a fireball downwards while in the air. Echelon, sidestepping the ball of flame, turned, but not quickly enough, and he only just blocked Merror's sword-swipe with his staff. The impact made him stagger backwards.

But being unable to move certainly did not make him helpless.Focussing his magnetic powers, Echelon concentrated on Pulse. He created several powerful magnetic forces, all acting inwards on the Ice Toa's body. This would begin to crush him in his own armour - while not necessarily fatal, this would cause excruciating pain and almost certainly incapacitate him.

OOC: Isn't that auto-hitting?IC: (Uar)Uar had preferred to simply watch this fight. The Toa fighting Echelon and Vidar seemed to be capable of holding out on their own. However, he did his best to keep his Tryna active. Using the little strength he had left, he decreased the temperature of the block of ice even further; Not enough to damage any vital organs, but certainly enough to put Echelon into enough pain that he would have great difficulty concentrating on keeping his undead alive and Pulse crushed.IC: InvisibleInvisible used his Mahiki to make the illusions of the Toa of Air, Fire, Stone and Earth move towards Echelon, swords drawn, seemingly prepared to attack.OOC: I'm just trying to make Echelon lose his concentration, now that I don't need him conscious for Proditor. :PIC: The ShadowThe Shadow walked into the village of Le-Koro, his coat flapping behind him. • OOC: I consider freezing someone in a block of ice to be unblockable, thus using it as an auto-hit can be seen as acceptable; in the same way, how do you block magnetism? The fact that an attack lands does not mean that nothing can then be done about its effects.Echelon turned off his Tryna a few posts ago.IC (Echelon)Echelon felt the ice around him grow even colder. But he simply focussed the freezing pain into will, and that will was concentrated on Pulse, and on crushing him. JL's thunderbolt struck the ice, shearing off a chunk, but Echelon paid it no heed, so focussed was he on his opponent.Suddenly, another Toa of Fire appeared, and shot several fireballs at Echelon. Echelon laughed at the Toa's foolishness as the fireballs melted the ice around him, leaving him unscathed. He immediately noticed four Toa converging on him. However, they looked almost exactly like each other, and a quick magnetic check confirmed Echelon's suspicions - they weren't really there.

  • OOC: Umm...the same way as before? XDYou'd think Pirok would remember how this worked out last time...IC (Echelon)But Pirok was wrong to think Echelon hadn't noticed him; the Necromancer had simply been dealing with the more aggressive threats. He could see the four Toa preparing their elemental blasts. And the moment they fired them, he used one of his own. But this was not a wild, destructive blast; no, this was a controlled application of magnetic force. Quickly but gracefully, Echelon rose up into the air, the four elemental attacks colliding beneath him in a momentary maelstrom; the fire melted the ice, which extinguished the fire, and the sonic vibrations and gust of wind cancelled each other out.Time for a little...fun.Still keeping himself aloft, he magnetised the four Toa to one another; this did not take up too much energy as, despite being lasting, it did not need to be maintained and it had metal from which to act.

IC (Mataiti, Le-Wahi):Mataiti followed Pulse into the battlefield and watched horror-striken as the being named JL called in a thunderstorm. There sure were great powers involved in this fight. At that moment Weta, a Toa of Air Mataiti had seen at the Kini-Nui, came into view, shouting something about Toa being supposed to work together. "That's not very wise", Mataiti said to the newcomer. "Provoking them, I mean."

Weta is a toa of magnetism, he was yelling at a toa of air (Skyra) trying to work out what the fight was about and which side he should join.IC: A Le-matoran answered Weta with what he thought was rather unhelpful advice, and then ran off to join the battle. After all, he wasn't trying to make the fighters attack him; they seemed busy enough fighting each other. No, what he wanted to know was what caused the fight and how he could help to resolve the issue. Still, he agreed it would be foolish to run onto the battle field and attempt to talk to someone, so he continued to watch and discern what he could. It seemed to him that the toa of magnetism was holding his own against almost everyone else, which surprised Weta. Clearly, this was a very powerful toa.
