He attacked out of nowhere, after all.IC (Naru):"Oh snap."With no further warning, Naru tossed all six of the glowing hot knives she was holding at once. They streaked through the air like tracer rounds; a deadly, bladed swarm headed for Pulse. As soon as they were let loose, she fished out replacements from her stock. By her estimate, she had had about thirty in total...

OOC: Toa of iron + Naru = plasma rifle.IC: JLJL created an electric wall to the left, right and behind pulse, leaving only a space for the plasma knives to fly at Pulse.

IC (Merror)Merror nodded his thanks to Torv, putting his Calix back on and handing Torv his own Mahiki.Suddenly, all Karzahni seemed to break loose. Fortunately, most of his companions seemed to be taking care of Pulse, so Merror turned his attention to The Shadow.Calling on his Fire powers, Merror created a cylinder of flame around The Shadow. The heat would be uncomfortable, but not dangerously so - unless the Vortixx tried to get out...

Axana felt the charges entering the rain and ground. She began to absorb the ground based attack, and shouted to Vilak, "Plasma canopy! Now, above us!" He complied, and the rain evaporated as it hit a newly formed plasma membrane over their heads. Nearby trees caught fire through contact with the membrane.

OOC: First of all, as Katuko implied, you cannot absorb elemental energy like that. At least, I'm pretty sure you can't or else it's pretty cheap once more. If Axana can do that, D or Alfon might as well just go and absorb whatever electricity you throw at us, rendering all three of them useless. Not to mention, by the time you can actualy sense the electricity, you'd be electroshocked. Do you know how fast electricity travels through water or how fast rain falls? That's GMing in my opinion, being able to sense the electricity the moment it's let loose and absorbing it when it should travel way too fast for you to be able to do anything, in fact and to be able to create a 'plasma canopy' above your team faster than the speed that gravity induces on rain. Complete ridicule again.IC: Alfon / OnyxAlfon evaded the jet of flame easily with his Calix by quickly jumping in the air and landing atop Takamaz. Once more, he released a lot of electricity into the wet marshy ground but unlike before, Takamaz was used as the main conduit, electricity sent roaring through the toa and into the wet, marshy ground electrocuting the entire team but Takamaz was very unlikely to wake up from this. The shock for the team wouldn't be anywhere near as severe but it was damaging, nonetheless, not as much for Axana though.Feeling Divan counteracting Onyx's restrictions and seeing lightning bolts coming at him, he quickly released control over the restrictions to save energy and planted his massive circular shield in the ground in front of him and dropped to the ground as fast as he could, staying prone a few feet away from his shield. Some bolts hit the shield causing a few sparks to emanate from it, slightly giving Onyx a few pricks while the others flew right past him. Drat! I can't use my shield now! Looks like I'll have to fight head on now.With his restrains released, Onyx charged at Divan with both broadsword and mace in hand, light as sticks with his Pakari active.

OOC: You seem to have missed/forgotten Solia's attacks toatc. Also, I'm pretty sure it is physically impossible for plasma to form any kind of protective field, due to it's gas-like properties. Plasma can also conduct electricity, so forming a canopy made of the stuff wouldn't work out too well for you.

OOC: You could use plasma to protect yourself against water, because it would evaporate the liquid. You could not block things like stone completely, though, because it would only turn the rock into magma that then crashes into you. I will admit that I gave Plasma a "heat-shield" power in my own game, but that's separate. The electricity could also be negated, but only for the Toa of Electricity, and I doubt you could simply turn it back when the Toa is actively aiming it at you. The rest of the targets would still feel the full force of the shock, at the very least.IC (Madrihk):"Drat, no teleportation? I'm sorry, I didn't notice. That Ruru looked a bit like a shoddily fixed Kualsi..."Madrihk gestured towards and area a bit to the side of the battle."Go on foot, then. They should be distracted enough that you can get by as long as you don't make yourself too obvious."As soon as that was said, Madrihk used both hands to charge another ice blast, aiming it at the feet of his foes. He wouldn't hit them directly, but rather make the ground slippery and try to make them loose their footing while the heat-wielders were occupied with countering water. Even as he let loose, he cast a worried glance at the trees around them, where the fire seemed to be catching on...OOC: If there is a forest fire we will all be in trouble, here.

Alissita smiles to her master before looking around the inn. "So, what does this Toa look like exactly, Master?" she asks as she looks toward the stairs then back to the lobby.-Mef Man

IC - Neirak - Inn"Well, there's a green and purple one, a dark green one, and a red one. The mix of those three should be an indicator." he explained.Where were they? They shouldn't have been this hard to locate, but then again, this was a fairly large inn. Just large enough that it would take some looking.

The Matoran nods to her master as she looks around the inn."I don't think I see them..."-Mef Man

IC: PulsePulse froze the daggers coming towards him. Gravity would do the rest of the job for him. He then stepped forward."Can't say I'm not grateful of the attention, but..."He froze the people around him. Due to how wide the attack was, the ice wasn't very strong, and would be broken out of within minutes. He walked out.IC: The ShadowUnfortunately for Pulse, The Shadow had a cylinder of fire around him. Which melted the ice, and was evaporated by the water. He stepped out."Now, we don't want that, do we?"OOC: Feel free to un-freeze yourselves, won't exactly take long.

IC - Neirak - Inn"Hmm..." he looked up thoughtfully, "Maybe this is the wrong inn."He stepped outside, looking around. He hoped he hadn't missed them. If he had to travel to find them, it might take a long time. He probably needed to let Alissita rest. But he didn't have any money, which led him back to the fact that he needed to find the Spectrum. They could get him some money... But hey. At least he hadn't gone in to withdrawal yet.

OOC: I must say I am not too fond of everyone being frozen for minutes either when Pulse was already surrounded by electricity and couldn't possibly deflect all the different attacks at once. Besides, if you froze the daggers... the momentum would still have some of them hit you as blunt objects.IC (Naru):The ice caught her off-guard, but as a Toa of Plasma, it didn't take more than a few seconds to generate enough heat to turn the frozen cover from ice to vapor."Where do you think you are going!?" she shouted as she threw yet another plasma-heated knife after the Toa.

OOC: Actually, the path in front of him was clear, as the electricity was only behind him and to his left and right. And most people in the group can melt the ice.IC: PulsePulse froze the next dagger, stepping out of the way."I'm going to the Kini-Nui."

OOC: And do you even know what plasma is? Plasma is superheated gas. That's not hot. That's MEGA-hot. Your ice would have evaporated instantly.IC (Merror)Within seconds the ice around Merror had melted."No, you're not," he told Pulse, shooting a sheet of flame at the ground beneath the Toa of Ice's feet.Pulse had just frozen everyone, pretty much instantly. To do that would have required a large amount of both energy and concentration. So Pulse should be running low on both...

OOC: I was just thinking that if three of four sides are electric and the final one is a bunch of daggers, then you wouldn't be able to both deflect the attack and freeze everyone quite so quickly. I mean, we are standing at various positions around you. I have a hard time seeing anyone turn and fire quickly enough to hit everyone before one dodges.IC (Naru):"Screw it," Naru growled as yet another knife feel to the ground. Summoning her element in full, she sent a stream of plasma in Pulse's general direction. The air around the cloud rippled with heat, and the sheer intensity of it caused the ground beneath to blacken. She hoped her allies were far enough away to not get caught in it.

IC (Weta):The searing heat of Naru's plasma began to melt Weta's ice prison. From inside the giant icecube, he watched drops of liquid water begin to run down the sides, and found that he could now move enough to shiver from the cold. The ice that his body heat had melted began to form pools of water around his ankles. He tried punching at the ice, but in the inch he could move his fists, he could not muster enough force to break the ice.

OOC: I'm assuming in this case that, if more elemental energy is used than normal, it could be frozen. And he would only have needed to know the general location of everyone else to freeze them. AFAIK, he wouldn't need to fire at everyone. And wouldn't this stream of plasma kill/seriously injure Pulse? Doesn't exactly sound pleasant.IC: PulsePulse was running low on elemental energy; He doubted he'd be able to attack anyone at this point. He'd spent the last few moments freezing large groups of people and super-heated daggers. The ground below him was in flame, and it seemed that a stream of plasma was heading at him. Today did not seem to be his day. Suddenly he realised why he'd always lied to everyone.He wasn't sure which way to turn, but decided to take a leap to his right to dodge it.

IC (Mataiti, Le-Wahi):Mataiti leapt out of Naru's plasma-beam's way.

IC (Weta): Weta continued to punch at the ice as it slowly melted aound his fingers. It was still too thick to break through, so he had to resort to something else. He carefully scalled the forest through the ice, and picked out a large tree with a sturdy-looking trunk. Then, using his elemental power, he created a field of attraction inside the tree. Even through the ice, his armour still responded, and his prison began to movve toward the tree.He increased the power, gaining speed until with a mighty crash, he hurtled into the trunk. The ice was broken, but the impact hadn't been pleasant for him either - he had aquired quite a headache in the process.

IC (Merror)Merror, his reflexes once more lightning-quick, sprang at Pulse in a flying kick.

OOC: Isn't Merror's text dark red?IC: Pulse"Oh Karz." Pulse had spent the last few minutes dodging and freezing and generally putting himself in far more danger than was actually necessary. He'd tried to take the time to catch his breath; This didn't exactly work out well.OOC: He's unconscious. Y'happy now? :PBTW, if one of you tries to kill him, I'm going to make a third island-killing crazy. You have been warned.

OOC: Elemental blasts are fired using your hands. You can spread EE through the air by letting it flow from your body, but that's either a lot slower or a lot more tiresome than a blast, if I know my elements right.And about the plasma... well, it's a fight against someone who has directly stated that he is going to kill everything on the island. What did you expect? Gentle warmth to keep him from freezing at night? No, Naru was aiming to kill. IC (Naru):Naru watched in satisfaction as the heat of their attacks finally overwhelmed Pulse. She shut off her elemental power and went to pick up her knives again. While she did so, she eyed the unconscious Toa with dread."What do we do when he wakes up?" she asked, flipping the last dagger she had retrieved in her hand. "Given that he wants to kill everything, wouldn't it be best to just... smoke him?"

IC: The ShadowA few minutes beforehand:The Shadow had taken the opportunity to step back while the others were engaged with Pulse. He stepped back into the cover of the trees, disappearing once more; It was finally time. The Plan would begin.Back in the present:The Shadow walked through the jungle, headed towards the Kini-Nui. Soon, the Toa would realise he was missing; They would also realise he was headed to the Kini-Nui...And they would follow.IC: Pirok"Perhaps..." Pirok said. However, he noticed The Shadow was gone."Guys? We've got a problem..."

OOC:Before I do something about this particular attack, please explain why leaping on Takamaz and electrocuting him is not autohitting.Trust me, controling a lightning bolt and directing it into your body is perfectly possible. From their, abosorbtion is a logical step. Katuko was refering to fire, where energy should have already been spent on burning and thus unabsorbable. With electricity, there is plently left to go around once it reaches you. Also, as long as you cite Katuko's logic, I will to. By his arguments an attack aimed at an entire group should generally be easier to combat. Some of your focus obviously needs to be on what Takamaz will do next, seeing as you were fighting him, unless you want to be roasted, even with that Calix to help you dodge. That and the fact that you are focusing on creating and directing electricity at an entire team makes it easier for Axana to divert the attack away from the team and absorb it herself. Plus you broke contact with the ground to dodge my fire blast, and, persumably, broke off control of the blast. Some of them may have been hit anyways, even with Axana's efforts. and I have allowed for that in this post.I'm not even sure it's entirely possible to electrocute rain, something I want proof of before I even think about taking a hit from something like that in the future. How much electricity can a drop really hold? Also, remember that we're in a jungle and trees are undoubtably taking some of the hits from the falling rain, reducing the charge significantly, which means that the rain might have had a cumulative charge that's mildly painful at the most. Remember that the rain attack effects everyone as well, and Vilak would only have bothered to protect his team. Even the gravity argument is mildly weak in my opinion, as not all the drops effected by the charge will reach the weight where they start to fall right away. Wind at higher altitudes may also shift where the drops fall. Overall, the attack by raincloud seems clumsy at best and unlikely to produce a highly effective hit.

OOC:Exactly why I chose Vilak to defend-the water would evaporate or maybe even go plasmatic before it could do much of anything. Plasma, at extremely high temps, might even be able to get rid of stone by turning it into gas. Do you have a refute for the fact that Alfon needs to have some focus on Takamaz to stop himself from being toast? Also, he had to loose contact with the ground to dodge the fire blast, so that indicates that the jolt would have been fairly short and Axana would have been more effective at preventing it from hitting her friends since he broke off active control of the blast. Because some of them probably still would have been hit, I am going to add a mild hit for Hikari and Miraul. Axana likely took a more extensive effort to protect Takamaz since he was nearest the blast.IC: Hikari and Miraul felt a sudden jolt from the previous attack, Hikari falling over mildly stunned. Miraul was more prepared, transitioning his fall into roll and quickly getting back up. Mildly out of breath from the jolt, Miraul saw D and Mahdrik talking, and he chose a less strenuous attack and hefted his javelin bag over his right shoulder, firing out all five of the metal javelins with his element, moving them at high speed like guided missiles, aiming for the joints of both parties.Divan smiled as he spotted Onyx coming towards them, the heat from the plasma above enough to have started the thawing process on his arm. He triggered his Kakama and charged at the approaching warrior, aiming to slam the warrior with his ice-coated arm, both freeing it and hopefully sending the attacker sprawling in the process.Hikari attemped to stand, and discovered Mahdrik's ice, slipping. A layer of high friction crystal was beginning covering the ice a second later, counteracting it's effects, and providing an insulating layer against future shock attacks from the ground.Vilak decided to take over Takamaz's roll against Vompran, since he was buys with Alfon. He targeted a plasma beam at Vompran.Meanwhile, the fires slowly began to consume the trees.

IC (Merror)"No!" Merror said to Naru. "No killing. I'm taking him to the Turaga."He turned to Pirok."Pirok," he said. "I'm sorry to burden you with this, but I don't think you'd let me have you take Pulse to Le-Koro while I go after the Shadow. After all, this seems to be your fight. The Shadow tried to have you killed - and Proditor, no doubt, wants revenge. Which means Torv will have to go with you too."He paused, picking up a tough vine from the ground. He began to tie up Torv's unconscious body."Once Pulse is in custody, I'll go after Vidar and Echelon."

OOC: I agree, rain can not really be electrified. In fact, water in general isn't as fantastic a conductor as cartoons make it out to be. I also spot a very dangerous trend here: In order to counter somewhat unfair attacks, attacks with exactly the same problems are used in return. Stop that this instant, or we'll have a never-ending series of childish slap-fights on our hands. "I blocked!" "Nu-huh!" "Ye-hes!" "Nu-huh!"

Not more than 5 pages, I'm sure. It was a torrent of water, mostly, that made the ground wet and marshy. I was kind of building on that with my ground-freezing above. There was also mention of water jets and melee attacks, but feel free to ignore the latter if it seems too much.

No, we are all going overboard, and I'm just trying to do some OOC damage control for both sides. :/IC (Madrihk):"O--ow."Just as he finished spreading ice, Madrihk was interrupted by something hitting him and causing tremendous pain to shoot up through his left arm. He looked down and saw to his horror that a long metal pole had gone straight through the lower part of it. He gasped in pain and struggled to remain standing, even as he used his power to freeze the wound over. It wasn't the best solution, but it had to be done, or he would end up bleeding profusely. The Toa of Ice could feel the limb growing numb, and with a pained grimace he dragged the javelin out of his lower arm. It left a frozen hole; another dangerous injury in a series of setbacks coming from bodily harm.Having no mask power and a still hurting foot, his left hand being next to useless until he could get it healed and running low on elemental energy again... Madrihk decided to time out. He crumpled down, trying to appear as harmless as possible. Madrihk could only hope they would not aim to finish him off... and that D would get behind them while he served as the distraction.IC (Naru):The Toa of Plasma put her weapon away and resumed a more relaxed stance."Fine, no killing. But then what? What can the Turaga possibly do about someone like this?"

IC (Merror)"I think they'd be a better judge of what to do with him than any of us," Merror replied as he bound Pulse. This vine was of a particularly strong variety, tougher than most ropes. And Merror knew his knots.

OOC: First of all, it is auto-hitty, that's true but I'm only getting back what damage I would have done with my previous electric attack. Quote from Emzee:"Electricity conducted by water would be much more difficult to control. Plus energy is absorbed from the environment, not from someone else's attack. At best, your opponent could absorb some of it, but still be fried a little bit.So in short, no - I don't think that's allowed." That settles that. Your previous post about absorbing the electricity was wrongly done seeing as how the electricity would have been way too fast for you to react quickly enough, D contributed too, adding a lot more effect, Axana and the team took zero damage from it when Axana should have been 'fried a little bit' and the team should have taken mild damage. The blast wouldn't have done a thing even if it was short seeing as how you were already absorbing it. As for the rain:Rain water contains salt as well as other minerals and pollutants. This means that it is a solution of ions, making it an electrolyte (conducts electricity).http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_does_rain_water_conduct_electricity (Proof)In short, the rain should have pained you a little bit at the least (Alfon as well) even with the trees taking some of the hits (setting more trees on fire). Although there is no wind as Solia is a toa of water, only conjuring a massive downpour on your team area, not stormy winds (the downpour is in your team area, not ours). Anyways, it's too little too late to do anything about it now since all the electricity has been absorbed and fired at Onyx, turning the rain no longer electric.In my opinion, let's finish this battle soon since we obviously don't see eye to eye on fighting matters. I'm hoping the forest fire will break things up eventually...IC: Alfon / OnyxAlfon jumped off of Takamaz, done electrocuting him and the ground and was glad to see it having done some form of damage, unlike his previous attack. Alfon wasn't entirely sure of Takamaz's state but kept his distance slightly away from him and held his ground with sword in hand.Onyx was suddenly hit by Divan as he slammed his frozen arm into him and would have sent Onyx flying if it weren't for his Pakari-strengthened legs. He was knocked off balance and falling backwards. To avoid giving Divan another chance to strike, he swung both arms downwards as hard as he could, both weapons colliding with the ground making very small crater-like indents in the ground and causing the ground around him to shake slightly. Not very effective but Onyx still hoped dearly that it was enough to shake Divan or make him stumble to give Onyx enough time to recover before it was too late.Meanwhile, the flames kept consumming the trees until bark began to fall off, affecting the plants as well. The fire kept spreading ever so slowly but surely, a forest fire being on the verge of breaking out if nothing was done in time.

I.C. VompranA bolt of plasma landed on Vompran's arm. "AAAAAAARRRRRGG!! You'll price-pay for that you son of a rahkshi!"Vompran's left arm was out of commision, and about half of his shoulder was missing, but even so, he charged at Vilak. He raised his staff over his head, and brought it down with all of his one armed might, with every intent to shatter the toa of plasma's mask to pieces. Vompran used his Matatu to speed up the sythe as it moved through the air.

IC: (Weta): Weta agreed with the fire toa's judgement. "Yes, let the Turaga decide what to do with him. Their wisdom is greater than ours concerning the island, so they may know how he plans to destroy it." Having lived his Matoran life in Le-koro, Weta had great respect ofr the Turaga of air, and would be glad to meet him again.

IC: Kethrye reached down and created a thin sheet of ice growing in the direction of Divan's group. Hopefully they will slip on this, He thought as the ice formed under the enemies feat. Kethrye turned his head as he detected odd smell in the air. That smells like smoke... He thought right before he sighted the growing orange and yellow glow. " One of the tree is on fire," He said. " That could prove to be a problem."

OOC: You don't need A LOT of Ice EE to freeze plasma.You need continuous amounts until the particles stop vibrating like heck - not only do you need to cool the particles down, you need to prevent them from zooming away.IC: JLPlasma heat plus high frequency electricity shattered his ice cage instantly.JL activated his Arthron as he climbed one of the trees. Soon, he was at the top of the forest, and, quite quickly, managed to find The Shadow.He leapt back down towards the forest floor.JL: The Shadow went towards Kini-Nui. I know where he is right now, but we have to go now.

"I'm going with Pirok, whatever he'll do", Mataiti said, stepping next to the Toa of Fire.

IC (Weta): While The Shadow, Pirok, Proditor, Invisible, JL and Mataiti (OOC: apologies if I missed any; it's quite a list) went running off towards the great temple, Weta stayed behind to help the toa of fire with his two captives, Torv and Pulse. He was eagre to return to the village of air and see the Turaga, but he also saw that in going after the murderous toa of magnetism, his abilities might be of some help in bringing the Makuta's servant to justice.

IC (Naru):"I don't get it," Naru said as she moved, "what's at Kini-Nui that is so important? All I've heard is that it's swarming with the nastiest creatures on this island, and that the Toa Mata most likely met their end not far from it. If he's dangerous and he wants to go and get himself killed, why don't we let him?"OOC: Also, where the heck did Zand go?

OOC: I believe Torv has to go with Pirok & co since he's the one keeping Proditor alive.IC (Merror)Merror had now finished tying up Pulse."Goodbye, and good luck!" he called to his friends as they ran off in the direction of Kini-Nui.Friends, he thought, sighing. You're getting careless, Merror.Hoisting the unconscious and maskless Toa of Ice onto his shoulders, Merror began to walk along the jungle path. The sun was just beginning to rise."It's not a long walk to Le-Koro," he said to Weta. "We should reach it before Frosty here wakes up."

All of you!" something shot past his shoulder and he flinched, "If you continue this pointless fight then we'll all be in danger!" he called, pointing to the trees on the edge of the jungle.
