IC-Aclaraung:Your 'hand,' as you will, is always the best hand...whether you see it that way or not, the Dragon said. Once you realize that, you realize how to live.Afterwards, he was silent, barely maintaining the contact with Song, having toned it down himself. Any attempts Song made to open it back up and resume communication would be met by an immovable force of will as Aclaraung walked with his thoughts.
IC: Kinksh / Hidden Base"And who is she?" Kinksh replied. "More importantly, were you also thrashed by this dying psionicist?"-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: JikalJikal grinned. "You know me better than that. The team was sent in alone, with no idea who hired them. Even if she digs, all she'll find is that they were hired by the Skull. No other leads, anywhere."His grin faltered. "She is Song the Ace."
IC: Kinksh / Hidden Base"Ah, yes. That one. We have plenty of medical that point to her near certain demise in a short time frame. Next Festival of Makuta will probably be a large enough scare to put her out of her misery for good...""Worry not. I'll have Rinnder take care of her if she causes any more problems."-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: JikalJikal nodded, his grin returning. "You might want to send him anyway. I've been monitoring her, after she disrupted a few pet projects of mine. She seems determined to take down as many criminals with her as she can."
IC: Kinksh / Hidden BaseKinksh shrugged. "If I didn't trust your judgement, I wouldn't have you working for me."He pressed a small, orange button - one of about twenty - and held it down. "Rinnder, I need you to take care of a little problem for me..."He let go, and held down a yellow one above it. "Your will be done."Releasing the button, he turned to Jikal once more. "Now, anything else you may wish to state? New contacts and the like...""The new hat, for one."-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Jikal"The hat was a gift from an uknown source. I made two new contacts, Hackers. One is undercover, the other recently awakened. Always best to have a few in the pocket. They're in Civilization as we speak."
IC: Kinksh / Hidden Base"Get rid of the thing, it's probably got a tracker on it. There's plenty of spares in the supply rooms, at the rate you lose the confounded things."IC: Rinnder / I Don't KnowRinnder watched Song and Achalung carefully, in the guise of a scarlet armored Vortixx, seemingly just a pedestrian. He was a good actor; one of the best, even, and remained inconspicuous very easily. If they noticed him, he would most certainly notice their noticing before they could guess what they noticed.OOC: Lots of noticing involved in that sentence.-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Jikal"I know. I've been messing with whoever placed it by zapping it every minute or so. It amuses me."With a thought, Jikal zapped it, and burnt it to a crisp.
IC: Hrunja"Well, fighting, seeing that we can't really go back."
IC: Ezraftin / Technan Tunnels"Then send them to Karzahni," Ezraftin replied. "Or wherever evil robots go."A huge laser fired from his axe, cutting its way through the dark tunnels and nearly blinding the group, himself included. Even the Vahki were not equipped with visual processors meant to take such a sudden blast.Of course, one laser isn't always enough.IC: Kinksh / Hidden Base"Many things about you are amusing; least of all your ridiculous costume."Kinksh gave a grin. It was meant to be a joke, but really, his jokes never came out in a humorous way.-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Hrunja"You know, have you ever tried creating a massive array of lasers powered by yourself?" asked Hrunja, firing off a massive blast of plasma into the tunnel. "Lots of lots of lasers?"
IC: Ezraftin / Technan Tunnels"Of course. Hows else do you think I'm shooting lasers from a giant axe?"He charged the weapon with light energy once more, and fired it as a volley of weaker but still quite powerful lasers, ripping apart the Vahki that were closing in, clambering over their fellows shattered forms."They'd be more dangerous with Kanoka disks, I think."-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Hrunja"Good point."
-==IC: Blade==-At one point after the crew on the Albiore had disembarked, Kairan had turned around to find Blade gone again."That guy doesn't stick around in one place for long, does he...?" Kairan muttered with a sigh, as he shrugged. Where Blade went, however, was further into the city. He wanted info on the Replicas; and figured the best place to find out about potential clones of people, was at one of the local bars, which also just so happened to be where Song and the others likely were at that point.OOC: If Song already left, just mention it, I kinda lost track of the location of them. >>'
OOC: They're actually in the street outside the bar.IC: SongSong cast out with her mind. She felt like she was being watched.
OOC: Close enough. =D-==IC: Blade==-Blade raised an eyebrow, as he turned onto the street near the bar, and saw a normal Vortixx, a Dragon, a Toa, and... Wait, what? Are Vortixx really normally red...? Blade thought to himself, as he noticed the Vortixx again, and wondered what he was doing, as he seemed almost to just be... standing there.
IC-Aclaraung:Aclaraung felt a vague trickled of anxiety and apprehension from Song, and noticed a familiar sense within himself. He examined as well when Song cast out with her mind, and noticed an odd presence. He turned his eyeball, looking over towards a red Vortixx. Uncommon colour, a rarer subspecies of Vortixx...and altogether un-Vortixx-like, judging from the presence...which emanated from there. He locked eyes with the Vortixx, issuing forth a low growl. He opened the mental contact back up somewhat, sending the image of the Vortixx through.
IC: SongSong followed Aclaraung's gaze, staring at the Vortixx. Her hands shuffled her deck.IC: JikalJikal grinned. "Haven't we had this conversation already?"
-==IC: Blade==-Blade walked further up the street, keeping an eye on the Vortixx, even as he looked back to the Dragon, and did a double take, as he stopped in his tracks, his mouth wide open at the sight, though he closed it, blinked, and turned his gaze back to the Vortixx for the moment.OOC: I know you're going for "he's there, but he's not"... But honestly; red? Seriously? That sticks out like a sore thumb stuck inside an apple, covered in tomato sauce. Aka, a lot. =P
IC: "Watcher" (Techna/CHI Building):"I must warn you, the effects of AI inhabiting the same body as a living sentient being is a untested theory. Even with your implants, the process may permanently damage you. Due to the large lack of AIs upon Speherus Magna, the Collective never tested that. Besides for Mata Nui inside the mask of life, I believe I am the only AI in existence," Watcher said this last bit with a sorry tone. He began to set up a sub-routine to transfer a portion of his being from the Techna to the CHI building, and prepared himself for a quick flash-transfer to Eudbard.Watcher hated having to divide his being, it made him feel uncomfortable afterwards, but his protocol for preventing sentient death prevented him from disobeying Eudubard's orders. Nonetheless, he prepared for the flash-transfer while he started to upload himself to the CHI mainframe.IC: Auress (NMM, Street outside a bar):Auress instantly put a hand on the butt of her gun, ready to draw and fire at a moments notice. She didn't like this, and fighting had never been strong enough on her own.
IC-Edubard:"Actually, there are two others," Edubard said, preparing himself for the transfer as well. "One is named Equinox, partner to Gust, and you should know the second-Athen, partner to Krayzikk." Edubard shrugged. "Gust was already a little weird in the head, and Krayzikk hasn't shown any particular mental aberrations...then again, Krayzikk is already dead." The Toa of Air laughed."It's a weird thing they did, but they transferred his consciousness into an S-Toa or ADR body...something like that. So he's alive and dead at the same time."
IC: "Watcher" (Techna/CHI Building/Edubard):Watcher quickly divided himself, in a fashion similar to cell division, and transferred "this" half to Edubard, while the other uploaded itself into the CHI Building."Flash-transfer complete, don't get used to having me here though, simply watching you all run around makes me long for a body again, this is just down-right cruel if you ask me," Watcher complained. He hated doing this, the fact that he was whole, yet divided was a mental exercise that Watcher had never fully grasped, despite the fact his mind was no longer limited in any way like it was when he still lived."The situation with Krayzikk, which I watched the entire matter unfold I might add, is similar to mine, except for the fact that the Doctors had no knowledge of the correct way to create a AI. Athen doesn't count on the same playing field as me. 'She' was manufactured, I lost my physical form. Allow me to assure you Edubard, Athen is nothing alike me, so, on similar topic, I doubt that this Equinox is anything like me," The AI said this with a particular annoyance in his voice, as if he couldn't stand the thought of it all.
IC-Edubard:"Except we didn't create Equinox," Edubard said. "And he is a person all his own...nearly omnipotent and omniscient, with everything he can do." Edubard shook his head."Alright, time to get cracking on that Thornatus."
IC: AthenAhem, Watcher, is it? You are still connected to the CHI mainframe. I can hear every word you're saying. The AI seemed singularly angry.ANd if you were intelligent, and you actually read my file, you would see my creators documented me as sentient, due to unexplained evolution of my programming. I was programmed to have only the most basic of simulated emotions. I have evolved, if you will, past that.In short, stuff it up your exhaust.
IC: "Watcher" (Techna/CHI Building/Edubard):Watcher was confused at what Edubard exactly meant about Equinox, but he assumed that the CHI servers held information about him. He would look for it once this was done."The Thornatus has been deployed, however, it is extremely close in proximity to the Techna. About... Say, one mile from the nose of the ship," Watcher replied. His other half wheeled on Athen, "Programming is not the creation of life. Merely just scientists attempting to play god. Now, if you will so kindly allow me to finish this half of the transfer, I'll stay quiet. In the meantime, I have to watch over Edubard, go through all files, and locate my daughter. So, please leave me to my work."
OOC: Characters' death post.IC: (NMI)Typhian had been hiding for some time, licking his wounds, and waiting for an opprotunity to strike at the one who had injured him. And today, he found him.Arentus had been sent a message by Keyana, telling him to meet her in a secluded spot. He came there unsuspectingly, believing his communications to be secure. How wrong one can be. Typhian had been watching him for months, and he traveled there as well, but before either of them arrived, he hid himself in the shadows. Keyana and Arentus were both uncatious when they arrived, and Typhian shot foward, quickly snapping Keyana's neck, and unleashing a mighty blow upon the suited Vortixx. Arentus survived the blow, but the fire that came after it burned him severely, for it superheated the suit. Even as he died however, he managed to send several lazers directly through the head of his monstrous attacker. And in seconds, nothing was moving in the junkyard Keyana had chosen to meet at.OOC: Alright then, glad that's done with.
IC-Hasil:Hasil walked the streets of New Metru-Nui, paying no heed to the things going on around him. After Airu had been taken, Hasil had basically been out of a job, seeing as all he did was help Airu out with things. So he was walking the streets of New Metru-Nui, attempting to occupy his time. If Airu didn't come back any time soon Hasil would attempt to break the general out, of course, but still...Hasil was bored.
IC: Zynethia, NMNThe female Zyglak wove through the crowds, ignoring the comments whispered from being to being. Her eyes were set straight ahead, staring at Toa, who was reaching for a panicked matoran. Right as the Toa's hand touched the Matoran, a scaled, blue and orange foot was firmly planted in his back, and he fell face first with some speed and force. Zynethia stood above him, her foot still on the middle of his back. Pausing, she stomped, and then looked back up at the matoran. "Run along." She murmured, already turning the Toa over.Little did she know, she was only a few yards from Hasil.
IC-Hasil:However, before Zynethia had reached the Toa, two small knives had already been embedded in his neck and chest, which she noticed as the body turned over. Before she had time to react to them, the knives were already sheathed on Hasil's belt.Hasil looked down at the crushed spine of the Toa. "Next time," he said, "I'd recommend you run the person though with a sword...or at least crush their heads. You would have only rendered this being paralyzed."
IC: AthenAnd what, pray tell, did the Great Beings do? Did they not experiment, and create life? What's to say that an AI couldn't be sentient?
IC: "Watcher" (Techna/CHI Building/Edubard):"I never said a AI couldn't be sentient, however, you took offense at the statement that I'm better than you. During the entire time the Techna was in space, I wasn't discovered once, and I still know nearly everything that happened on board that craft. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to escape detection," He replied. Watcher split himself in half again, one to monitor the file transfer, the other to begin to go through street cameras, communications networks, everything to find someone. He knew who he was looking for, and if she wasn't alive... Watcher ignored the thought and concentrated on the task at hand. File transfer was at 23%, it would be some time until it was done."Edubard, what course of action do you suggest? If your pursuers decide to return..." Watcher hoped Edubard understood what the AI was saying.
IC: KrahziaSeraph leap at her target with her sword raised. Her target was a Matoran named Nefas. Why? Simply because Seraph disliked with friendly Matoran of shadow.Nefas was able to block the first strike with her own sword. After a short but intense sword fight Nefas was disarmed and held against a wall with a sword's blade to her throat.Nefas unleashed a devastatingly powerful explosion of shadow energy. This brought Seraph to her knees. As Nefas' anger fuelled her shadowy powers to extreme heights she continued to use blasts of shadow at the Toa.Seraph was able to negate the shadow blasts with light blasts but this wore the two beings out.In a final act of defiance Seraph stabbed her sword thru Nefas' chest. This caused her powers to run wild and in an explosion of shadow energies both beings were utterly destroyed.
IC: Krash (Krahzia) Ironically, Krash walked by that very spot a minute later, still singing. "Never stops, never slows! Always faster, always goes! This is the song that never ends! It just goes on and on and on my allies! It.." IC: Lekar (NMN)Lekar stalked through the city, dripping wet and scowling. Ignoring a large group outside a bar, he walked into said building and sat down. "One special, please." After he got his drink, he slid a few widgets across the counter and sipped the drink. Zakaro
IC-Edubard:"I'll most likely pull out my Golok and rip them apart," Edubard said, quickly running for the Thornatus. "That, or you can shoot at them from the back turrets on this thing. Depends on what you want to do, I suppose." Edubard jumped into the vehicle, revving up the engine."Now for the fun part," he said, grabbing the wheel and hitting the gas pedal.
IC: "Watcher" (Techna/CHI Building/Edubard):"It would be of some assistance to me if you were to identify your attackers Edubard, that I would know what to look for," Watcher did a check of the vehicle, it seemed functional, just like he said it was.No luck on finding his daughter yet. He was progressively checking every security camera, recorded communications, sent messages, everything the AI could find. He checked the transfer status again, it was taking some time, and he was only at 51% completed. It seemed like today was going to be a long day...
OOC: Maybe he's leaning on a red wall. Huh? Huh?OOC: I know you're going for "he's there, but he's not"... But honestly; red? Seriously? That sticks out like a sore thumb stuck inside an apple, covered in tomato sauce. Aka, a lot. =P

IC-Aclaraung:Aclaraung, using Song's mental connection to connect to the Vortixx, was barely able to anticipate the attack. He jumped backwards and ducked, keeping his eyes below his crest. As he had said earlier, none of the shrapnel penetrated, though the shock did give him a slight odd feeling. He jumped up and growled, flaming the entirety of the street over to the Vortixx, not noticing the Matoran that had run from the street after the grenade explosion.
IC: Rinnder / StreetOf course, a little fire never hurt anyone. Especially when they had an energy-proof shield. Rinnder stepped out of the flames, a little burnt up but not seriously damaged, and took a second to line up on the Dragon and fire at him.-Toa Levacius Zehvor ![]()
IC: Auress (NMN, A street):By bad luck and awful timing Auress was caught in the shoulder by a laser blast. The force of being hit spun her about before falling, not dead or unconscious, just hurt.
