IC
I don't move, letting his rather weak and feeble punch connect with my head.
"Clearly, you don't understand. I'm trying to knock some sense into you, not start a fight."
...
"Sometimes the only thing to do when people are being stupid is to punch them, hopefully the stupid part of their brain is the one crushed."
IC:
"Where did you get my arm?"
For some reason I don't trust the armless rahk. Why had they lost their arm? And whose arm was the one I had found and given to them? There must be another rahkshi out there, armless and sad.
"None of your business."
IC Kat: "well, he only looked a little crestfallen when I saw him, so it must not have gone the way he wanted.... Though to perfectly honest, I'm not sure if he even knows how he wanted that to go down."
IC Poly:
"It matters because you know a name that is not used. I do not share my true name. I am Legion, for we are many."
I narrowed my eyes. "Now answer me."
IC: (Snakey)
Snake did a slow clap at Caoutchouc's move, before whirling round and punching Siren in the head without any warning.
Suddenly, he was a different rahk, not jovial in any way. His eyes glowed red as he hissed: "Stay away, filth."
"You really had the audacity to come here looking for your arm. Don't you remember, I'm the one who shot you?!"
IC: (Wraith)
Wraith had left the library and gone to the Refectory to get some "food". He form was very slightly translucent as she became less dense, melting into the shadows somewhat as her dappled armour matched the colour of the living rock. Normally, she would eat in her dorm to avoid being noticed, but today she was observing others. There seemed to be a fight, or some punching at least, going on nearby, and Wraith silently sat at an adjacent table, close enough to observe easily, but far enough away to be uninteresting to those involved and stay out of the fight.
OOC: Alright I'm gonna clarify something here. Omega is MEANT to be strong and muscular. So I doubt a punch to the face would be weak and feeble.
IC: Omega
Omega sat back down. Hah. You're such a failure you can't even beat up Caoutchouc. FAILURE.
IC
I stand Omega back up, brushing the dust off him and staring him in the eyes.
"No one is a failure, we Rahkshi get stratched. Not broken."
OOC: Sorry. Didn't know he was airborne.
IC: Stronghold/In the Halls
He never hit his target in the air.
He ran up to Dallior.
"Is that the problem?" he asked. "Why don't you answer him then? This could save all of us from a trip to the infirmary."
IC: Toxin/In his Dorm
He woke up. Something about Bullseye sounded off. He felt a usual air of overconfidence that was the result of a victory. He decided to go to Bullseye's dorm and wait for his return. He needed to remind Bullseye that he isn't that egotistic. Bullseye needed to calm down.
IC: Bullseye/Somewhere on the Mainland
He mentally facepalmed himself as he hunted down some Brakas.
"Curse my overconfidence!" he thought.
Although it may have improved his observational and inferring skills, it all too often gave the wrong impressions. And Fang looked like a guy who would show anything. Yet Bullseye made the mistake of talking too much.
He didn't feel like getting new arrows today. He went home in disgust over his actions.
IC: Omega
Omega stared back at Caoutchouc. He said nothing, just staring into the eyes of the person who not only attacked his... master but also just punched him in the face.
IC Dallior:
l look at the other Rahk with fear in my eyes. "I can't. I don't know his name. It just... came to me."
IC: Raptor
Raptor caught up with Fang.
"So, what about that whole big 'Kill Exxan' mob thing? i have some free time..."
IC
I stare back for several minutes.
Then I sit back down to continue my gruel, hopefully my words had gotten through to him.
IC: Omega
Omega walked off, not noticing Fang at first but still passing him.
OOC: That's your que Click!
OOC: Ahh! Ninjas! Get back!
IC: Fang - Hallways to Refectory
Fang heard Raptor behind him and refused to stop. His face grew stony and a little bit hurt. "It doesn't matter now. I've met with Exxan, and we talked it over. As far as I'm concerned, it never happened."
Fang stopped just outside the door to see Omega walking out. Palma had fixed up the arrow wounds, but he looked hurt, both mentally and physically.
"What happened? Are you alright?" He demanded.
Karz, I'm starting to sound like Vaalku.
IC: Hoto - Infirmary
Over the course of the conversation, Kat appeared to be getting closer to Hoto. No, her hearing was improving. Palma really was a miracle worker.
"I hope he isn't too torn up about it. It sounds like it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. I guess you didn't make it there, either, then?"
IC: (Snakey)
Snake wasn't paying attention...as he turned, a grey-armoured rahk who he could have sworn hadn't been there a second ago was sitting at the table nearby, intently staring at his gruel. This wouldn't usually be odd, exept for the fact that Snake had never noticed the newcomer sit down at all. Not even the sound. It was as if they had always been there, just now having been noticed. There was also something off about how the light reflected off the rahkshi's armour, that Snake couldn't quite place his clawed finger on, but it was probably nothing.
Frowning, Snake turned back to his gruel as Omega left.
IC: With Hoto awake, much to Palma's relief, the medic moved onto another of the wounded, this one a Power Scream that had rather clearly been in a fight. Though Palma had no idea if he'd been the victor or not. The students would insist on hammering at each other, relying on their innate durability to keep them going right up to the point where it couldn't. Still, at least the lacerations and puncture wounds this one had received were simple and predictable enough to patch up. All her patient would be left with was an interesting story to tell. She got to work and the hole through his torso first, as the one that would cause the most problems
OOC: Palma post for you Dancing ![]()
IC: Omega
Omega looked up. "Why do you care?".
IC: Stronghold/In the Halls
"You can't be serious?" said Stronghold. "I guess there's no choice but to send this guy to the infirmary. Unless he would call it off."
He turned to Poly.
"Give up, dude. This battle ain't worth it if you're worried about the security of your name. Because of your battle everyone probably knows anyway. Leave and keep your honor intact."
IC: Toxin and Bullseye/At Bullseye's Dorm
"Hello, brother."
Bullseye stopped mulling over his thoughts as he entered his dorm. He waved.
"I know what you want. You wanted to stop me from being overconfident. It's too late. I think I've already messed up when talking to Fang in the Library. He probably won't seek us out now."
Toxin was surprised and mad. He sighed.
"Good to see you back. I'll find Fang and talk to him. Go get some rest."
Toxin went to the Library, the place Bullseye last saw him.
OOC: Hopefully Toxin can catch up to fix things.
IC: Fang - Hallways outside Refectory
The question caused Fang to stop for a moment. "Because... you cared enough to tell me Exxan was coming. I know how much you hate him. How much you fear him. To be willing to do that shows the mark of someone who deserves to be cared for when they need it. So, let me care for you this time. What's wrong?"
IC: Raptor
"Oh... so, uh, anything I can help out with?"
IC: (Wraith)
Wraith observed.
IC: Omega
Omega looked up a little more. "Bad dreams... very bad dreams." Omega said.
IC: Fang - Refectory
These weren't simple nightmares. That much was obvious from the haunted, hollow look in Omega's eye. Fang recognized it in an instant. He's seen it in the mirror enough times. Self-loathing, hatred even.
"What brought this on?" he asked, carefully.
IC Kat: "well, I might be assuming, I haven't actually seen Exxan since the meeting." I joked.
"But yeah, I was the only one left with enough sense to get you out of there. So... I wasn't able to preside over the negotiations."
IC Poly:
~need his informant~
Perhaps Tridax...?
~possible. unlikely~
With a sigh, I reluctantly sheath my blade, and hover down to the floor.
"All I need is where you got the information. I need to stop the leak, not the water spilled."
Just a name, a clue, anything.
~kill him after?~
No. Not this time. A name is easily changed, after all.
If he crosses me again however....
~yes~
IC: Stronghold/In the Halls
"So is that a yes."
He was unsure of the assailant. He waited for an answer.
IC: Toxin
Toxin walked out of the Library, apparently he had left to go somewhere. He hoped to intercept him before he left.
IC: Omega
"When Exxan leveled up. that's when it began. My mind screaming at me that I was pathetic, for being beaten by Exxan. Eventually it evolved from that to calling me traitor and failure and mindless and all sorts. Last night was the worst of all. It was everything I was ever called, yelled at me by my own mind. It lasted all of the time I was asleep. And I can remember it all vividly."
IC Mahrika
Refectory
Mahrika waited in line at the Refectory, having suffered a frustrating spearfishing failure. He lazily glanced over the Rahkshi in the room, noticing but not really caring about the drama surrounding a gloomy Farahk. Nothing captured his interest, though; he was still amazed by his earlier sighting of Fang speaking calmly to a group of four Rahkshi in the halls. How Fang had found that many unafraid to speak to him was beyond Mahrika.
OOC: Wait, is Fang already in the Refectory?
IC: Raptor
"So, uh... Anything I can do?"
IC Dallior:
Dallior, with the utmost seriousness, replied to Poly, "I don't know how I knew your name. All I know is, I somehow said it and you started trying to kill me." Dallior hoped that Poly and the other Rahk knew that he was telling the truth.
OOC: Yep, lots has happened since Fang last spoke to Mahrika. Well, not much time-wise, but a lot character-wise. ![]()
I figured Raptor should stay out of this one. Considering Omega is still not happy with him. Not that Fang knows that. ![]()
IC: Fang - Hallways outside Refectory
Fang carefully watched Omega, planning an appropriate response. This was serious if it could turn Omega into such a wreck, and Fang was no psychologist. He knew that part of this was his fault. He had pushed Omega on to attack Exxan, though fortunately, nothing came of it. "You're not the only one to be defeated by Exxan." Fang's words grew bitter, but he quickly tried to hide it, for Omega.
"And you are no traitor. You were angry, and I pushed you. For that, I apologize. Without your warnings, I would not have been prepared for Exxan. I may have attacked him, or even killed him. You were protecting those you have chosen to follow in the best way you knew how, and it was exactly what both sides needed.
IC: Omega
For the first time in quite a long time, Omega produced a real smile. "Thank you."
IC: Raptor
Raptor looked away at being ignored. He saw, though, that something important was going on. He made his way further from the two Rahks.
OOC: Open for interaction.
IC: (Wraith)
The Farahk who had been punched started to spout in-cohesive sentences about how his own mind was hurting him...if Wraith was him, she would have surgically extracted the part of the brain responsible. She wondered why he had not done this.
OOC: Wraith, in the refectory, open for interaction.
IC: Fang - Hallways outside Refectory
Fang straightened up, smiling back. It was an odd scene for anyone who recognized them, but Fang was too relieved to care.
Fang clapped a hand onto Omega's shoulder. "I think you need some time to get your mind off of things. I was planning to visit Nynrah to pick up a few supplies. Maybe the fresh air would do you good. I doubt even Phogen would have any objections." Fang winked at Omega with a sly grin. "Of course, you are free to stay here. Maybe smashing a few dummies in the Gym would help."
IC: Omega
"No, I think I've done enough of smashing dummies for now. I'll come along." He said.
IC: Fang - Hallways - Refectory to Infirmary
"Good! I have just one stop to make before we go. I need to... check on someone."
Fang walked off to the Infirmary. He felt terrible that he hadn't been there earlier, but hopefully Hoto could forgive him. He stuck his head through the door to see if she was awake, and saw her sitting next to Kat. They were having a discussion, and Hoto looked happy enough, so Fang slipped out, not wanting to intrude, still lingering by the door.
IC: Omega
Omega realized immediately who he was looking for. He waited patiently for Fang, his spirits lifted from what he had said.
IC: Toxin
He happened upon Fang at the infirmary. Toxin didn't know whether he should talk or not. He tried to walk away, he thought Fang was busy.
OOC: Fang could notice Toxin, maybe not...
IC Kat: I spot Fang peeking in and beckon him over.
"Look who's awake!"
IC Poly:
There was a long, anxious tension, as I carefully watched the other's face.
"Fine."
I could almost see him slump over in relief
I pointed my finger at him angrily, "if you ever cross me, I will not be merciful."
I stalked off.
OOC poly open for interaction.
OOC:
Alright, I'm going to go ahead and make Anubissium start following Fang. PyroLizard, when you reply to Anubissium, just imagine it came right before this.
IC: Anubissium
"Sorry, I gotta go for now. I'll get back to you later," Anubissium said as she began walking then jogging away, following the one she had heard planning a group and excursion to Nynrah. He stopped at the infirmary, so she stopped near him, hopefully far enough that she didn't look suspicious.
IC: Omega
Omega peeked in. He nodded at Kat.
OOC: Oh, boy, get ready for some drama. ![]()
IC: Fang and Hoto (finally
) - Infirmary
Fang came around the corner shyly, a stark contrast to the raging monster he'd been when Kat first met him. He walked in and sat on the bed next to them.
Hoto looked around, her hearing still too weak to tell who it is. "Who... who is it, Kat?" As he sat next to her, she jumped up. The armor radiated heat... but it couldn't be.
There was an odd sort of grin on Fang's face as he replied. "Hoto, it's me."
The voice sounded familiar, but not quite how she remembered. He sounded... worn down. Even though it was kind and soft now, she could hear an edge just below the words. "Fang?" she whispered, but then she jumped up and embraced him, confident in who it was. It couldn't be anyone else.
She felt the scars along his sides and pushed back carefully. "What happened to you?"
Fang scowled, but it only appeared for a moment before the smile came back. "Nothing you should worry about. It has been taken care of."
"No! What happened to you?" Hoto suddenly shouted, and Fang knew exactly what she meant. She had been talking to Phogen, hadn't she?
"Hoto, I can explain..." he began carefully. "Phogen is..."
"I don't care about her! Where did you go?"
Realization finally dawned on Fang. "Oh... no, Hoto, I'm sorry. I..."
"You left me, just like the rest of them! I... I thought you cared." Her voice was full of emotion as she forced out all those grievances she'd had for so long.
Fang looked down at his hands. "I... I tried, Hoto. You have to believe me. When... when I realized what they had done, I tried to go back. I fought them, but they knew I couldn't beat them. They knew I was weak." He fingered the fang pendant around his neck, absentmindedly. "I did all that I could, but they said you had no chance. They said I shouldn't even try. But I did, and they beat me. I couldn't..." He trailed off as Hoto turned away in anger. Fang looked helplessly to Kat.
