IC - Raehn - Bar: The bar was crowded and full of activity as Raehn arrived, as was usual for such places. After making sure that her equipment was still secured to her back, she moved forward, heading toward the counter. Perhaps the bartender would have some news to take her mind off of Decaia...
IC: DurimHis armor gleamed as he stepped into the bar. Looking around at the multitude of people. That made this an excellent location for making a few clever deals that could end up making some money in a reasonable period of time. Plus, if not, he could always enforce the deals he already had. This would end up in his advantage, he was certain."Anyone here looking for an interesting opportunity, a possible... job?"
IC: Reichenbach"Not the mask so much as the word." Reichenbach wondered why Nex didn't get the joke.
IC: However Clo'on didn't stop. He hadn't stopped all the while Twitch was talking. Which was bad news for Twitch really. Because he was essentially a walking lightning rod, and he'd just wasted his dodging time with idle threats
IC: Nost"You okay?" Nost asked to Sagom in a very light tone, putting an arm around her. He wondered how long the death of Vagdom would haunt her, hopefully not as long as death haunted him.
IC: Nex"I know the word, and I also know what it stands for. An illusion, a trick upon someone..."He noted with a calm voice.
IC(Gezdom and Sagom)
Sagom leans her head on Nost's shoulder as she replies,"Y-yeah. Just...you know.""Listen," starts Gezdom. "Why don't you two go out for a little while and relax. It's been...a long day." Relief flooded over Gezdom upon seeing his sister alive and well, but his father being dead still felt weird. It seemed like a lie that he would never believe until he saw the kind face in the cascette.-Mef Man
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroTwitch cursed as lightning bolts slammed into his body, racking him with pain. Mina continued to scream in pain and beg for someone to help her.Rasp had recovered from the stray lighting bolt that hit him, and was attacking himself. Having loaded a steel spike into his crossbow, Rasp aimed it at the Toa and fired.
IC: Reichenbach"And I have a lot more fake names where that one came from." Reichenbach replied. "Why don't why start with yours?"
IC - Raehn - Onu-Koro Bar: She had been looking for possible work for less than a few minutes when another being entered the bar and announced that he was looking for workers. That was very perfectly timed...Easing her way through the crowded building, she approached the Toa. "What kind of job?" she asked once she had gotten near.
IC: The steel bolt made an excellent lightning conductor, and was struck by one of Clo'on's bolts. Though not as solid as a rock or another bolt the lightning bolt struck it with enough force to sway it slightly, causing it to spiral off-course into the door-frame. Clo'on changed tactics, since the next quarrel might be something non-conductive. He raised his hands and beams of energy shot from them. He was hoping, since he'd just demonstrated lightning powers, they'd try to block. But this time it was his elemental power, a beam of stone energy. Whatever it hit it would encase in solid rock
IC: Twitch & Rasp, Onu-KoroTwitch doubled over in pain as the lightning ended striking, taking only a split-second to focus on his enemy. Onyx's reaction training was usefully after all. Lurching foward with his hands extended, a gigantic burst of flames and heat shot out at Clo'on, a attack that had a wide arc, and was extremely dangerous.Rasp cursed as his steel spike missed, and pulled out his sword before circling behind Clo'on. All the while, Mina was still bleeding and screaming.
IC: Nex"But, might I ask why you wish to know my name?"He seemed like a kind old Turaga, nothing like the dangers underneath the surface.IC: Durim"The job is simple. I, am planning on making widgets off of a team created to act as great heroes. It requires helping others for not much payment, but it comes with the option of, if needed, taking out a loan to help afford anything you wish. Food and housing shall be payed for at no cost." He decided agreeing to pay for food and shelter would be a rather easy turn towards making money, and keeping the beings already working for him easily under his control.
IC: Naryth straightened up, hands on his hips."Then to Ta-Koro we will progress."He began leading the way back to the fiery Koro.OOC: Phantoms to Ta-Koro.
IC: The burst of flame hit the beam of stone energy and became sealed within a rocky prison. It couldn't melt through, as no air meant no fire. So there was now a wall of stone where a wall of fire used to be. And Clo'on, being a Toa of stone, sent that wall zooming straight at Twitch. He'd spotted the Matoran edging away behind him so created a few stalagmites streaking up from the ground behind his back as cover. The Matoran would have to get close to attack, the stone spikes should slow him down even if he had the strength to smash through them
IC - Raehn - Onu-Koro Bar: "A Toa Team, then?" Raehn summarized, frowning. "In that case I'm afraid I can't help you. Sorry." She moved to leave the bar.No, because Toa don't kill, she thought to herself. No reason to put that baggage on genuine heroes...
IC: Durim"Not exactly what you would call a normal Toa Team... It's just got to look like a Toa Team. Honestly, I'd hire anything that resembled a Toa right now... I'm just in this for the money."He commented as the being headed towards the exit. It might come to her mind as strange that a being making a Toa team would head to a bar to get recruits... it was not exactly the most heroic place, or had the most heroic people.
IC - Raehn - Onu-Koro, Bar: "So you want to make a mockery out of your fellow Toa?" she responded pointedly, stopping in her tracks and turning to look at the other being. "Sit back and pay them to do heroic deeds so you can make a profit off of the adoring masses. Is that it?" She was silent for a moment. "Once again, I'm sorry, but I can't help you; my presence on this team would be detrimental to your cause -- noble or profit-based."
IC: Durim"Well, your choice. And making a mockery of my fellow Toa? They do that on their own, a profit based team would still be better than those fools running around like headless Dikapi. If you change your mind about it, I'll probably still be here."He turned to the counter, quietly ordering himself a rather light drink, before turning back to the people of the bar. "Anyone here willing to atleast fake being heroic? Also, Toa required." No one stood up at the offer. "cool dudes..."
IC: Reichenbach"Is this not a civilised society? Can we not refer to others by name?" Reichenbach asked.
IC: VilokVilok rolled his eyes as Durim kept talking. Being completely honesty with himself, Vilok simply thought that his cause really didn't sound that great now at all, having people pay for their good deeds. Like Durim said, the Ga-Toa was only in for the money and not for the people."The only thing you should get in return for help is gratitude." he said in disappointed tone to Durim before hobbling over to Raehn."Sorry to bother you, just thought I'd take a little break from him-" Vilok was pointing at Durim "over there. You mentioned that your presence wouldn't be well...beneficial for the team. Would you mind my asking why?"
IC: [Quada]Quada followed them in, chewing on a fish. "So what's happened?"
IC: VilokThe Toa of gravity turned to the fish-lover with a 'seriously?' type of look in his eyes. He felt like saying something smart, something snappy at Quada but nevertheless, he restrained himself. Preventing those types of emotions was probably the only thing he could work on."Well we entered the bar, Durim told the audience he gathered up about or goal, including this lady right here, and well you could say he made a fool of himself. Sorry to say but there's no hiding the truth that this cause doesn't fit what we stand for. For what I signed up."
IC: Nex"That is correct, but you would be surprised how few people wish to know a Turaga's name these days..."He commented with a faked friendliness.IC: DurimHe took a small sip of his drink, before turning in his chair. "I did tell you that I was only in this for the money back in Ga-Wahi, did I not? Apparently being honest causes a being to look like a fool. You signed up knowing what I had this team planned for, and you joined anyways."He took another sip, shaking his head. "Or perhaps you wished not to hear that and let your mind block it from the conversation. But, it was there. I am here to make money, not to be a hero... but if being a hero leads to me earning money, then there's no harm in that... And Gratitude doesn't buy you food, money does. Which is what I offer. I cover the funding of this team, and in return, I make the most off of sales."He took one last sip, putting the small, and now empty glass, back on the counter. "If you wish to have the perfect team of heroes fighting for justice, then go into Makuta's lair and find them. They're certainly not on the surface of this island."
IC: Reichenbach"In your case, the last person who asked your name was probably a detective." Reichenbach joked. "A life of 'writing' is a difficult one to lead."
IC: Nex"Indeed it was, they were curious as to why I was at their agency. I am friends with their boss, and was speaking to them about my book."He nodded."Indeed, sometimes the writing comes easily, other times you face obstacles in your way."
IC: Reichenbach"And sometimes those obstacles can be other writers." Reichenbach pointed out. "And sometimes, you encounter another writer, who has an offer you may want to hear."
IC: [Quada]"There are no perfect heroes," Quada replied as sagely as he could. "Sure this team may seem a bit immoral, but at least I can help people."
IC: Nex"Really, are you too writing about the murders that seem to be on the rise on this island?"He asked calmly."Because I've seen some rather interesting things happen at the doorstep of Thedar Chronn..."He had been standing for far away from the agency the whole time, for one reason...OOC:... and that reason is because Zoma never posted him leaving the area. XD
IC - Raehn - Onu-Koro Bar: "Honesty makes you more trustworthy," Raehn pointed out. "and more likely to be given help in return from those who you have already helped." She shrugged. "At any rate, the public wouldn't take too kindly to me being on a Toa Team; my reputation is already as a bounty hunter." She paused. "Not to mention, I killed another Toa; I broke our creed. Even if this team isn't going to fight out of the kindness of its members' hearts, I wouldn't be an acceptable member."
IC: [Quada]"Lots of people have killed," Quada said, continuing to munch on his fish. "It depends on why you killed."
IC: Durim"Yeah, yeah, we all have our sad back-stories. I'm a loan dealer, I make deals that would get me thrown out of any Koro, possibly even Xa-Koro. A bounty hunter isn't really any worse. So you've killed someone, I've driven multiple to suicide, not that big a difference." He took another sip of his drink."Plus, who said we were going to work under the law? What's legal doesn't mean what's best for my wallet, or the citizens of the island. That just slows you down with unneeded time wasted on explaining and getting the Turagas' permission to do stuff."
OOC: Which is why it was so easy for Reichenbach to find him.IC: Reichenbach"Actually, I'm more interested in murders that were much more... recent." Reichenbach answered. "Indeed, the bodies were found on Thedar's doorstep. The murderer is taunting him. And I suspect, trying to find allies."He likes to watch them, scurrying around, trying to prove they're better than everyone else. 'Daddy loves me best'! Aren't normal people adorable?"
IC: Nex"Your sense of humor is lacking, especially to someone who watched his doorstep and saw the bodies adding up."He breathed silently."And the being placing them."
IC: Reichenbach"That's not humour." Reichenbach replied, seeming slightly offended. "It's personal opinion; An example. Getting into the murderer's head. Knowing how he thinks."But sometimes, you can go a little too far in, can't you? It's hard to get back out after that. Especially when you're caught."
IC: Nex"Indeed it is. Perhaps you had something to do with the deaths?"The Turaga was smiling just slightly. It seemed that the killers were coming to him now.
IC: Reichenbach"I could ask you the same about the recent murders." Reichenbach said. "But, on another topic, I'm holding a meeting of writers, like you. Would you be interested?"
IC: Nex"Perhaps, but I would rather my writing stay secret until the time when it is to be released across the island."He commented, understanding what the other being was saying. He had been the whole time, but he wasn't showing it. He was testing the being.
IC: Reichenbach"The meeting would not so much involve the revealing of plots, but an opportunity I doubt many writers would want to miss." Reichenbach grinned.
IC: Nex"Then I shall think about it..."He commented, his smile fading away into a serious face.
