IC Haki:
"Not who, but what." He explains to the Toa.
"Beetles, foul creatures, tainted in darkness. If not for the efforts of the Gukko Force and many others.... There would be no village left."
IC:
"By Mata Nui..." Lathon trailed off. "Do you think Makuta is behind these beetles of darkness?" he said as he glanced at the destruction. "We are lucky the Gukko Force were here to make sure that didn't happen."
IC: Kunitu
"Bit late, sir?" joked Kunitu, floating her Gukko over to Kongu as well.
IC:
Lathon turned to see Kongu, and Kunitu, who had a Gukko bird. They must be part of the Gukko Force... Lathon thought to himself. He approached them slowly.
"Hello, my name is Lathon and I was wondering how one becomes part of the Gukko Force? And if they accept Toa?"
IC: RyzenIC Izzun
Izzun and the little band began heading back towards the Koro, thinking about subs and stuff like that, when Izzun remembered that they - His little group here - Had kept the bugs at bay and forced them into the air. With them in the air, they would be destroyed by the Gukko force. On the ground Izzun and Ryzen had kept things chilly and undesirable for the beetles. In other words -
They had unintentionally created a brilliant war plan.
He quickly explained it to the others.
"Ehh, coincidence maybe?"
IC Lain
Seeing the arrival of the Akiri, I brushed some of the beetle gore off of myself before tossing Ahkulii a small towel.
"Looks like some kind o' official. Best clean yerself up a bit lad."
IC Izzun
"Ah, good. Then we must find out if there was any more ground fighting parties, or if we handled the entire ground swarm ourselves for that was too easy."
[Le-Wahi, Jungle Clearing]
“Well, obviously they do, seeing as you’re looking at one,” Ranok said from behind Kunitu.
Although the De-matoran’s words were teasing, his eyes narrowed in a genuine smile.
IC: Kunitu
"Ah, but I could be a particularly tall Matoran!"
She wasn't.
IC: Lathon
"My apologies," Lathon said. "I don't know either of you so I wasn't sure." he said to the two Toa. "Is there any way I can join by chance? I want to do my part to help defend the village." he said as he glanced around at the damage again.
IC: Ryzen
"It probably wasn't just us. There's not a lot of us, we couldn't of handled that on our own."
IC Izzun
"Well, I don't neccesarily think so, but if it was just us we would have had to do a lot more work. And I would be actually beaten up, not just bumped and bruised." The Toa of ice then shut his mouth as they walked, realizing that they would be questioning how he even was able to stay in that long and come out alive, when it was so bad Akhulii had to get out in a matter of seconds. Izzun had stayed in for about twenty minutes.
OOC: Uh-oh, looks like Izzun's got some 'splainin to do. Feel free to crack down on him.
IC: Kunitu
"You couldn't have picked a better person to ask than the boss?" said Kunitu cheerily, gesturing to Kongu. "Still, unless you're secretly evil, pretty sure you'll fit in fine."
IC:
Lathon smiled kindly at Kunitu. "I guess fortune has found me today then friend." He then glanced at Kongu who was apparently the leader.
"You should not worry. I am not secretly evil, I have pledged my life to fight evil until my dying breath. Though it has been said I have tended to punish those who kill innocents a bit more harshly then some other Toa. My name is Lathon, at your service." He nods to Kunitu.

"I'll be careful where my sword falls while around you, in that case."
I crouched on a solid-enough branch which was near to the congregation of defenders and newcomers, lazily fishing for information and praise. I had come here on foot, having left Sloth with the Gukko so that I could stretch my legs. Hopefully she would be capable of surviving sans me for a moment or two, but, still, if the need for my companionship was necessary, I'm certain that she would be able to find me easily enough.
All she had to do was look for the Akiri, after all.

IC: Trava (Jungle, Upper Canopy)
The Lesterin huntress sat perched on a branch high up in the crown of a large tree, looking at the empty spot in the middle of the row of tree crowns further on the horizon. That was the extent of Makuta's reach, she realized, even now his minions could threaten everything that she and and her fellow islanders held dear at the drop of a hat. Today, however, their attempts had failed, and Makuta's will had been rebuffed. Trava smiled thinking about how fast she'd run, and how hard she'd pushed herself to get to Le-Koro as fast as possible after she'd first come across the beetles.
And indeed, the village itself had remained untouched, and the villagers themselves were getting ready to celebrate. their victory.
Eeeeeh, she'd give the celebration a pass, that wasn't really her thing. As long as she knew she'd done her part, she didn't need to feel anything bad about leaving the clean-up to others.
Wedged between the Lesterin's teeth was a straw, fluttering slightly in the quiet breeze that came by.
"You did good today, girl. Don't let anyone tell you different"
She got up, looking around at the "second floor" of Le-Wahi around her, and then she took off through the trees.
"Let's see if the folks at Pala knew what was going on"
IC: Lathon

The Toa of air glanced at the being crouching on the the branch. "If your sword takes innocent villager lives then yes, but I will also do my best to fit in with the Force if I am allowed to join." Lathon said.
He hadn't started killing murderors until a group of Skakdi had wiped out his Toa team before his very eyes in Ko-Wahi. Lathon had been injured, his memory damaged. He had moved around the island with no idea who he was for a time until he had began to remember. Then he had hunted down the Skakdi responsible and made sure they could never do the same thing again.
"My blade only bleeds those who deserve justice."
IC:
"How ... noble."
My mouth twitched into something resembling a smile.

IC: Trava (Pala-Koro)
Pala-Koro looked, as far as Trava could tell, about the same as it did the last time she'd been there. Vacant, half-ruined and crumbling.
Part of her questioned why these people even bothered trying to rebuild an old ruin like it was something to fuzz over. Mostly because she didn't buy a lot into this whole "established settlement" thing as a whole, and also because she didn't really see the point in rebuilding when you couldn't get it back to what it was, and since this had at one point been a fortress against Makuta... yeah.
But then again, it wasn't like anyone else was using it, and Trava knew how much of a problem clearing space in Le-Wahi could be, the trees here seemed to live a life of their own on that front. If nobody else were stupid enough to grab the property that was right there why the ###l not?
She could respect that kind of logic, honestly.
So that's why she now approached the village again.
OOC: Howdy, Pala folks
IC:
"How ... noble."
My mouth twitched into something resembling a smile.

IC: Lathon
He noticed the strangers smile, Lathon's emerald eyes seemed to bear past the others, straight into his very soul. Lathon thought he sensed some darkness within this one. It seemed he didn't fully approve of Lathon's outlook, or found it comical.
"And what is your name, If I may." Lathon said on guard, "Are you too part of the Gukko Force?"
IC Lain
"My blade only bleeds those who deserve justice." One of the newest arrivals is speaking the grandiose talk of one with a trouble past that they hadn't come to terms with.
"Sounds like somethin' writtin' on a gravestone."
IC Erwin
Nearing the southern shore you can see small Koro I had heard of on Lake Pala
Or at least what was left of it
A green Lesterin is approaching as well they look friendly enough

Lathon turned towards Lain. "There could be worse things written on my grave-stone," he seemed to shrug within his long cloak, black and emerald armor glittering in the sunlight, eyes narrowing within his Mask.
"I will be lucky to have that fate, my brothers and sisters had no such fortune, there tombstone was little more then blood smeared next to their frozen corpses." He said, not holding back.
IC: "We know that one?" Tarex asked, eyes immediately picking out the green Lesterin approaching the village as the trio emerged from the brush. Sweeping horizontally, he then adjusted his statement, spotting a matoran wielding what appeared to be a trusty fishing rod. Neither appeared to have ill intentions.
"Know these two?"
IC: Kythera
"Hey Trava," Kythera called, raising a hand in greeting to the green lesterin. The other, of course, was resting on her holstered pistol, seeing as Trava wasn't the only one there.
IC: "So yeah, that's one." He inferred, eyes flicking down to the hand on her pistol, and tightening in disapproval.
It's a Matoran with a fishing rod. He's not doing much to the four of us waltzing straight in like this.
Even so, they then turned themselves upwards towards him as the two groups approached one another. Raising his right, non-clawed arm, he waved. The universal gesture of greeting couldn't possibly fail.
IC: Trava (Pala-Koro)
"Hi again, Kythera," Trava called back, "you won't believe what I've been up to"
It was then she noticed that the Toa standing beside Kythera was looking in a different direction. She followed his gaze, and noticed a matoran with a fishing rod on the way towards them.
Trava frowned for a moment, a fisherman's way of catching their chosen prey was, as far as she could tell, nothing but trapping, the one part of the trade she herself distanced herself from.
Of course, the fishing rod was the exception to this; being about as close to "mano a mano" that one could go without straight-up diving into the water.
So she would give this matoran the benefit of the doubt. A brief nod of acknowledgement, and she turned back in the direction Tarex and Kythera.
IC: And what might that be?
"Anything to do with Le-Koro buzzing the whole forest?"
IC Haki: After finishing helping his last patient as best he could, Haki's reserves of herbs and medicines are all but gone. He stands uneasily, his age showing clearly in his joints. He sees The Akiri of Le-Koro land close by. He walks up, and bows to the noble leader of Le-koro.
"Akiri Kongu, it is good to see you in fair health."
IC Izzun
Izzun flipped and landed on the platform suddenly. He motioned a greeting to Haki. "Nice to see you in one piece." He turned around and helped Akhulii up.
IC: Ryzen
I followed Izzun to the platform, suddenly hearing him say something. The old Turaga was there, along with another person.
So that's the Akiri. Doesn't look to impressing to me, but that's just me.
IC Izzun
"Well," he said as he helped Ryzen and Akhulii up "Subs on me. You're welcome to join us, Haki."
IC Erwin
He had killed many man with this fishing pole they didnt know this and would be easy to surprise were he the untrustworthy type he was not
Raising a mottled green and gray clothed arm he waved back to the bigish toa and said hello I am a traveler I have fish I could give you if you would unhand your weapons at my gesture of peace he also bowed and tipped his great fisherman hat
OOC: Wow Tiragath, such nice grammar before....
IC: Not too gently, Tarex nudged the Vortixx with an elbow.
"Cool it, he's fine."
He has fish
Fish'd be nice.
"Trout by any chance?" he called to the fisherman. He was getting pretty talkative only recently, so his voice came out a bit more hoarse than usual.
IC Erwin
Trout yes he said walking to the Cy-Toa and Lesterin with the gun and her hand on the gun he sat down on a small log and removed his pack full of never melting permafrost and pulled one of the poetic trout from it handing it to the Cy-Toa and reaching in once more to hand another of the torsional and mossy smelling ichthys to the Lesterin sorry if I caused alarm ma'am he spoke
On and throughout his introduction one could note his eyes were always closed but he seemed no worse off for it maybe he was merely squinting or pretending putting his pack back over his shoulders he turned to the Cy-Toa I am not a fisherman only he said I was a swordsman before too I see you have a sword as well he pushed his traveling tunic aside to show his saber sheathed at his left hip
IC: For his part, Tarex accepted the trout gracefully.
"Thanks. Nice sword you got there, looks reliable. Likely a bit less annoying to maintain,." he replied, switching the trout to the clawed, gauntleted hand, and slowly producing the massive sword-shaped slab of crystal from his back.
"...than this thing. Easier on the back, too."
Look at me, showing off. What's gotten into me these days?
IC: Kythera
Kythera stayed back and let Tarex and Trava deal with the strange matoran. Her icy gaze was flitting across the treeline, not comfortable just standing out in the open.
IC Erwin
That is a big sword said the le-matoran
IC: "Yeah. Need to use it to kill big things."
IC: Kythera
"Right."
"Hey Trava let's see if Esao's cooked anything up to eat, that man can work wonders with his hands."
IC: Trava (Pala-Koro)
"Sounds like a plan," Trava agreed, "in the meantime I can tell you about what all of Le-Koro was buzzing about until just recently"
"Turns out Makuta's cronies had a nasty surprise for us, beetles that eat trees."
