IC: Kunitu
The change in tactics took her slightly off guard, allowing for her opponent to push her arm closer to the table. Kunitu's eyes narrowed. She was now in a less advantageous position, compared to the Skakdi. Huhm.
Her arm began to vibrate as it tensed up, pushing against the force that Colx was bringing down.
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
Colx let his face twist into a grimace as the two remained at an impasse, attempting to give of the impression that he was running on his last reserves. He wasn't, but she didn't have to know that. His push loosened a little, not enough to give Kunitu the upper hand, but enough to be noticable.
IC: Kunitu
She didn't know if the opening was a feint or not, but Kunitu still took it, pushing all her strength into her arm to push back against her opponent's. Even if he had something up his sleeve, she would force everything into her arm to stop him.
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
Colx gave in just a tad or so from Kunitu's renewed efforts, before finally locking his arm in place, still slightly on his side. His stamina would do the rest, he surmised.
IC: Kunitu
"It ... appears to be a draw right now ..."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"Oh I wouldn't know," Colx replied with a sly grin, "I can keep this up for a good while longer"
He put in a little more force on his end.
"Can you?"
IC: Kunitu
Kunitu responded with a grin of her own, her hand tightening as she pushed more power into it.
"I'm running on a full stomach, so definitely!"
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
Colx was starting to feel his arm going a little numb, a tinge of tiredness seeping into his muscles.
Hang on, no, that was just the powers that be taking artistic liberties. Colx was not wearing out, but at the same time he wasn't getting any closer to buckling Kunitu
"I'm gonna have to dig deep for this one" he reasoned as he renewed his efforts.
IC: Kunitu
"I heard that shouting really loudly boosts your power," said Kunitu offhandedly as she continued to push back. "I've always really thought that it was a load of bull."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"It used to work for me," Colx replied, "nowadays it just gives me a sore throat"
He pressed on.
IC: Kunitu
"Never works for me. A random Toa of Air doesn't exactly exude pheromones of fear or whatever."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"Really, I had no idea" Colx replied sarcastically, though his mind was on other things.
"By Mata Nui, Makuta, Irnakk and everything in between: give in already"
IC: Kunitu
"Gukko birds on the other hand, are very frightening."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"Somehow I have problems feeling intimidated by them" Colx replied, even as his muscled arm tensed up again, taking a final crack at getting Kunitu to bugde
"A friend of mine rode them regularly" he disclosed even as his strength was brought down hard on Kunitu's arm.
Ic: As the shadow explained this, Brykon realized just how little he knew about the Peers. All that time under their wing, all that time working to undermine them while doing their bidding, understanding their plan... and nothing to show for it. He was very familiar with Aurelia, having had to deal with her manipulations and micromanagement already, but any other Peers...
He killed the doctor Peer on the lighthouse. He imagined the one who gave the (obviously) rehearsed warning at Pala-Koro was a Peer, too, because who else could have been in on it enough to say such things. Ambages, however -- Ambages was a name he knew well and heard a lot but despite it all had never once laid eyes on the man or knew what his role was, if any. Perhaps he was the grand master of the network but the evidence was circumstantial and foggy at best. Everything the Peers seemed to have done was at someone else's hand or apparently masterminded by other Peers. Either Ambages was everything or nothing at all. Either he was the king over all doings or a puppet moved by Aurelia. Kehua was right; he couldn't be killed yet.
But Godslayers? This caught Brykon's attention more than the reference to Ambages. The war he was fighting had been largely physical, and while he was always trying to find out what the true plan was he never heard anything about killing God. The Peers, even if it was just Aurelia alone, had been able to do great work -- with his help, but all the same -- so if they made a threat it was probably going to be seen through. It had been six and a half lunar changes since the fall of Pala-Koro.
Time was being wasted.
Antrim. Antrim would know what to do. Antrim was wise, knowledgeable, capable. He could manage the fight better, coordinate the defenses, oversee the end of the war. Brykon was too cautious, too predictable despite his training, too rough with his ways. He needed to see Antrim Vakitano. Did Kehua, too? No. Kehua was on his own mission, and while their paths did mingle it only warranted information to help him. If Kehua joined Brykon's task he ran the risk of failing in it even more; such was Brykon's luck so far. The elder Shaddix perceptively picked up on an unconnected reference and wanted to know more first.
"You're here to hunt someone. Why?" It was a simple question.
IC: Kunitu
Kunitu's strength could not hold up against her opponent's, falling back onto the table.
"Well, looks like you've won."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"Darn right I did" Colx replied, letting his arm rest on the table as he cradled his pipe in his other hand, a few puffs of smoke sputtering forth from his mouth.
"You really did put up a good fight, though. I like that in a woman"
IC: Kunitu
Kunitu laughed at the Skakdi's blatant flirting. "Sorry old man, but I'm not interested."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"Hey, if you don't try you never know," Colx replied, "I wasn't really expecting anything anyway"
"It gets kinda lonely around here sometimes, the only people I really get along with are both off on their own little journeys."
"At least they keep me informed in the mail"
IC: Kunitu
Kunitu nodded. "All my students have gone off to do their own little thing, and my minion is always busy fighting Nui-Rama."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"I hear ya. I had the pleasure of showing my friends the abc of battle before they left, but since then I haven't seen them"
"They grow up so fast" Colx mumbled, with one half sincerety and one half sarcasm.
IC: Kunitu
"One moment they're running away from Ash Bears, and the next they're going off on their own adventures and changing sex."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"Whatnow?"
IC: Kunitu
"Don't worry about it."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
Colx shrugged, his massive frame giving off the image of an industrial construction beam being raised and lowered. He stood up.
"I'm getting a drink, you want any?"
IC: Kunitu
"Sure, why not?" said Kunitu, standing up. "I'm bored as heck anyway."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"To the Bright-Star Inn, then" Colx mumbled as he took a quick stop by a nearby locker to get a satchel with a few minor trinkets and appliances he'd be likely to need.
He led the way to the door. As he was busy with his pipe at the moment, he let his Impact Vision open the door for him.
"Ladies first", he mumbled through gritted teeth as he stepped aside.
IC: Kunitu
"I'm not going to act as the scapegoat for your obviously criminal act of destroying a door."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro Fitness Center)
"It's my door, I can do whatever the karz I please with it" Colx replied as he stepped outside, even though he was smiling just a little.
"She's got a sharp tongue, this one"
"Alright, the fuzz is nowhere in sight, you can come out" he said, looking through the splintered remains of the door.
IC: Kunitu
Kunitu exited the door with a sigh. "Everyone damages property these days. Such a shame."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro)
"I think a little property damage now and then is good for the soul" Colx replied as he led the way through the Koro.
"Sometimes it just feels so liberating. It's about blowing off steam right in the face of The Man, without him being able to actually do anything about it, since it's my property"
"You just shouldn't make it a habit" he said.
"Then how do you pass the time, more arm-wrestling?"
IC: Kunitu
"I give my minion/protege lots and lots of quests."
IC: Colx (Le-Koro)
"So, you have your own errand boy, do you?" Colx inquired, throwing a curious glance at Kunitu
"Well, can't say I don't like the idea, I've often wondered about maybe hiring one myself, just for the idea of ordering him a wole lot."
"It's around this next branch, here"
IC: Kunitu
"You really should get an assistant. They're extremely helpful."
IC: Colx (Bright-Star Inn)
"I'll bet," Colx replied, "I could use a personal mail man to stay in touch with my friends"
"You haven't been outside Le-Koro lately, have you?" Colx asked as he walked in the door to the Bright-Star Inn.
"Hey, Unari" he mumbled in the general direction of the burly bartender.
IC: Kunitu
"Not really," she replied. "Can't exactly ditch my responsibilities."
She took a seat at the bar.
"Oh hey Unari," she said, looking over at the bartender. "Haven't seen you in a while."
IC: Colx (Bright-Star Inn)
"I hear ya" Colx replied off-handedly.
"The main reason I'm asking is because I like to check if anyone has happened to run into those friends of mine, secondhand news and such, if you will"
IC:
"That's always possible, but I doubt it's something to worry about," Unari said to Kidona, just as two others busted in.
"Colx, Kunitu. What would you like?"
IC: Kunitu
"Tomato beer."
IC: Colx (Bright-Star Inn)
"Tomato beer"
Colx shuddered. Ugh, he would need an extra strong one to erase that memory.
"That'll be a whisky for me" he said
