IC: Komae
Komae shrugged. "Well, this is what they mean by 'pick your poison', I guess. My point is, if we get thirsty enough it's either seawater, which is guaranteed to kill us, or dirty rainwater, which might kill us, and it'll take a bit longer to do so. Which hopefully gives us plenty of time to get to shore!
"But we aren't starving or parched yet, so let's not work ourselves up into too much of a lather, hey?" Humming to himself, the Matoran returned his focus to rowing. In a perfect world he'd ask Beosach if he knew any decent songs to pass the time, but singing probably wasn't the wisest choice if death by dehydration was a possibility. Also, Beosach would probably throw him overboard.
In the distance, the island inched closer.
IC:
"Komae, I'm supposed to be the calm one in these situations, so something really isn't right..."
With that said, the pair passed the rest of their trip to Le-Wahi in silence, and when they finally came upon shore (just after they started to notice that the boat had various leaks and such in it [probably because of Komae's knifework]), Beosach looked regretfully at the little ship he'd bought for this trek. "You know, that was a good little boat. I'm really unhappy with how we have to leave it. But, it's no longer really seaworthy, and we need to get to a Koro. So, do we go through the jungle or stick to the coast?"
IC: Vrina
Vrina rolled her shoulders as she managed to walk towards the market sector. As she walked through she looked at each vendor trying to find one that may be in need of someone who could hunt.
OOC: Vrina opened for interaction
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
The next morning had the old (no, not quite) woman navigating the crowd of the Le-Koro bazaar, a task that anyone would find daunting in the right circumstances.
She had a serene smile on her face, still pleased by yesterday's successful business endeavor, and today she felt she was going to treat herself to a little something special to celebrate.
Even as she was about to finish her search, what caught her eye but a young Kru-Toa wandering about, seemingly a bit lost. She had caught her eye because she looked awfully familiar, Zelvin could swear she'd seen that face in the mirror back in the day.
So she put on her sweetest of sweet smiles, and came up to her fellow Toa of Crystal.
"Hello, dear, is there something you're looking for?"
IC: Vrina
Vrina narrowed her eyes as she heard the voice of Zelvin speak behind her. Without hesitating she turned around sending her skirt swishing a bit as she moved. Her right hand immediatly rested on one of her rapiers and her mind gripped one of her stilettos ready to use it the first chance she got. However as she now got a better view of the toa before her she still seemed cautious
"Is it really any of your business what I am looking for? I could be hear scoping out this market figuring out it's weak point so I could come back at a later time to rob it, or i could be here trying to find a vendor in need of a hunter..:
Her voice held a soft note of warning behind it as her eyes kept on Zelvin
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix could hear the word that Varan uttered and instead released the energy that had been building within his hand aiming directly for the ba-toa's mask and hopefully through that to the head. He would make sure he was the one killing in this situation and not the killed
IC:

IC: Komae
Komae shrugged lightly. "Well, a boat's a boat, and it got us where we needed to go. Can't ask for much more from a boat, right?" He gave the side an affectionate pat.
One splinter later, he turned back to Beosach. "Anyway, you're the cartographer, right? I'm sure you've got a better idea than me which way is safer." He smiled and put a hand out cheerily as he added, "of course, it could be we're too far from help in any event and either way is going to result in starvation, but no point in getting ahead of ourselves, right? So I'm fine with whichever you are. Though jungles have water sometimes, right? It'd be nice to have some water that won't kill us."
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
Zelvin's smile deepened at the sight of such gusto as she followed the other Kru-Toa's movements, tracing across the Crystal rapier and, with a short ping with her elemental powers, getting a fix on the stiletto as well. From afar this other Kru-Toa had reminded her of herself, and it held true for her attitude as well, though perhaps a bit more direct and to the point.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she finally noticed Vrina's mask, taking in the shifting and swirling shapes with blatant curiosity. When someone got to be around the age that Mama Clench was, they had the feeling that they'd seen a little bit of everything, so to see something completely new and strange to her was almost a bit of a shock.
"There's no need to be so on edge, dear. Why, when I saw you walking past me right now I was simply reminded of myself at that age" she assured Vrina.
IC: Vrina
Vrina released her grip ever so slightly on both the mental hold and the physical hold of her weapons. However as she listened she could not help but notice that Zelvin was intrigued by her mask given her eyes seemed to follow the swirls of her mask. She shook her head and sighed
"You get used to the mask. Trust me. However why should I care if I remind you of yourself? It's not like I am you so what significance does it hold?"
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
"Did I say you should care?" Zelvin responded with a knowing smirk, "don't think so"
"I was merely stating a fact, nothing more" she supplanted, waving her hand dismissively.
"And that mask is going to take some time to get used to, in all my life I've never seen anything like it"
IC: Vrina
Vrina shrugged non-chalantly as she leaned against the side of the vendor stand she had been at when this Kru-toa began speaking with her.
"I am not surprised you have never seen anything like it. Afterall I don't think there is another mask like it. However perhaps before you go comparing people to yourself you could at least give them your name? Afterall it is a bit rude to be making such statements without stating your name."
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
"Silly me," Zelvin exclaimed, slapping her forehead, "I completely ignored courtesy, I am most most awfully sorry"
"The name is Zelvin, dear, although some have taken to calling me 'Mama Clench' due to my reputation in my business"
She twirled her scythe as she said it, still smiling gently.
IC: Vrina
Vrina nodded slowly as she heard this. As the nickname came up she cringed
"Yeah.. Not going to be calling you that anytime soon. However My name is Vrina Tivosi, though I am intrigued. What is your business?"
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
"My business is bounty hunting, Vrina" Zelvin replied with a glow flickering in her eyes briefly as she shifted the grip on her scythe with an illustrious twirl that aligned the scythe blade with the floor.
"On top of that one of the best, or so I've heard" she said innocently.
IC: Vrina
Vrina rolled eyes as she heard this
"and apparently modesty is not something required in your job. But Funny enough I am also sort of a bounty hunter.. in a sort of non-direct way."
However as she watched the twirling of the scythe she smirked softly
"You know you shouldn't swing that thing out in public, could hit someone with it."
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
Zelvin cocked an eyebrow, using it to hide her triumph. In such a simple movement, she'd already gauged part of the younger Toa's character. She was not concerned for Zelvin's own safety, she was much more worried about her failing and accidentally striking someone else, which when you took into consideration her earlier remark about how Zelvin's reminiscing did not matter to her, probably meant that most of her concerns were based around herself and her own well being.
"Where there is youth there often seems to be egoism as well. Kids these days" she lamented.
"Non-direct way, you say, how so? I am in some ways that myself, I'm in some senses of the word "retired", but I keep an eye out for especially fascinating bounties"
IC: Vrina
It was Vrina's turn to now to offer a rather devious smirk as she tapped the side of Rapier
"It is simple. Where as you likely captured and brought in your targets I had to make sure... Well there is a reason my bounties aren't known."
Oh I hope this dense old woman gets the hint. I hate having to be so blunt
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
"Oh" Zelvin said, an expression of understanding falling upon her face, as she straightened a fold in her cloak.
In that "oh" she'd said all she needed to say: Her initial surprise, her quick reconciliation with the fact, her almost brooding recalculation of Vrina's character, and her grudging respect for the considerably younger Kru-Toa.
"I suppose there has to be someone who are prepare to do that job as well"
IC: Vrina
Vrina shrugged gently and merely smoothed a wrinkle in her skirt
"Exactly. It is a neccessary evil. However that is history and I am now attempting to 'settle down'."
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
"Oh?" she asked again, this time with curiosity evident in her voice, with a hint of clear understanding now taking a backseat. She knew this tale, oh, she knew it very, very well.
"Stop me if you've heard this before but I have a feeling I can guess why," she began, locking eyes with Vrina.
"It's a man, isn't it?"
IC: Vrina
Vrina rolled her shoulders as she managed to walk towards the market sector. As she walked through she looked at each vendor trying to find one that may be in need of someone who could hunt.
OOC: Vrina opened for interaction

OOC: For the record, he was only thinking it, but oh well...
IC: Alfon
High up in a tree at the edge of Matau’s Palm, my feet dangled freely far above the reaches of the earth itself. From my perch, I observed the Le-Matoran in silence, listening to the lively noise of construction and the faint buzz of Vohu resting by my side. My eyes darted from person to person, sometimes settling on girls who I thought were far too pretty for this kind of work or picking out other interesting characters until their each of their faces faded back into the crowd of activity. The longer I stared, the easier I found it to picture myself in their shoes.
The longer I stared, the more nostalgia I felt.
Watching them reminded me a lot of Pala-Koro. In my mind, I could see the half-finished walls of stone and iron standing tall in the middle of the jungle, a work in progress the ILF would soon be proud of. I could hear the chopping of wood, the clanging of metal and the cheeky conversations that ran amok. I remember the pungent smell of body odor and the salty taste of sweat from hours of manual labor. And how could I forget how it felt to sleep in a mattress of my own creation, inside a house I had built myself, for myself?
I missed my home. A sad smile crept upon my lips when I realized that. Whatever comfort those memories held felt bittersweet in the end, because I knew the village wasn't much more than rubble and ashes now. There wasn't a whole lot to go back to. Pala-Koro’s ruins stood as a reminder of the ILF’s failure and the remains of my house were now home to rodents and Fikou. There was no one waiting for me there either. Kethrye, Ledzel, Plagia, Madrihk, even the few remaining members of the Front, they were all gone for sure.
Whatever Le-Koro could ever give me, it would never compare to my time with the ILS. None of it would amount to what I’d lost. Ironic, considering I had what I considered a dream job. Getting a fat paycheck to fly giant insects for the military? Pretty awesome. I was better off in the Rama Riders than I’d ever be, yet it wasn't the same. The sense of belonging I once had was gone.
But above all, I missed my friends.
OOC: Open for interaction with any of the Rama Riders.
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix could hear the word that Varan uttered and instead released the energy that had been building within his hand aiming directly for the ba-toa's mask and hopefully through that to the head. He would make sure he was the one killing in this situation and not the killed
OOC: For the record, he was only thinking it, but oh well...
IC: Varan
Varan whipped around threw a dagger straight at Chivinix's face, then jumped off the ground. He was weakened without his Kanohi, but there was still power left within him.
OOC: The way you stated it and wrote it made it appear he uttered it. Most times if people are writing as if they are thinking something they will do it this way
Kill instead of "Kill"
Second Chivinix several posts ago placed one of his feet on Varan's chest to hold him down. So yeah not like you could just jump off easy peasy
IC: Vrina
Vrina shrugs a bit
"More or less. However I had quit business before I met him. He merely sealed the decision."
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
"The magic just went away? Ah yes I've seen that happen before, but it's not something I like to talk about, nasty business, that" Zelvin responded faintly, her mind elsewhere.
"Well, Vrina Tivosi, it was nice meeting you, but I have to keep moving. Maybe someday we will meet again if Mata Nui so wishes"
IC: Vrina
Vrina laughed as she heard this and merely waved a dismissive hand
"Yeah yeah. I sincerely hope we do not meet again for I don't like being some person's physical memory."
IC: Zelvin (Markets)
"Take comfort in the fact that I don't see you as a spitting image of me, Vrina" Zelvin replied with a calm nod as her face disappeared under her hood.
The figure hefted her scythe on her shoulder and took off.
OOC: Zelvin to Ta-Wahi
IC: Ryzen
I looked behind my shoulder as the koro slowly became part of the background. Dragging my feet across the forest ground, I wondered where to go next. Somewhere else, I guess. Not here. I spent enough time here. Probably Ta-wahi. I don't suppose I like that place, but it's surely better than staying in a single place.
Maybe I could, in fact, make it before nightfall and find an inn or something, I though as I picked up my pace.
OOC: Ryzen to ta
IC:
Zeth watched in horror as Chivinix charged up another burst of energy and launched it at Riihus. Something changed inside the Toa of Gravity at this moment. A fire ignited in his normally cold and somber cyan eyes.
"I said..."
His body lurched forward towards Chivinix. His palms rippled with unseen gravitational propulsion, every ounce of energy aimed at the creature. Unfortunately, Chivinix was unaware of the connection between the two, and didn't understand what kind of horror they had both lived through. Zeth, however, wasn't thinking about the creature's feelings in this particular instant. All he knew was that he refused to let his lost brother die.
"BACK OFF!"
The energy was released in one fluid flick of Zeth's wrists.
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix was entirely caught off guard as he felt the gravity burst forth from Zeth and hit him square in the back. As he was slammed into the wall he shook his head vaguely turning back to Zeth. He almost shrugged it off if it weren't for a slight ache, you see his kind was made for endurance. While physically weak compared to toa they had they had a sturdy carapace that almost cushioned blows and allowed them to often withstand their opponents and then taking advantage of their opponents weakened state to overwhelm them. But at this point Chivinic was not worried about outlasting these two toa instead he was worried about coming out ahead.
He grabbed the Kusarigama wrapped around his waist and swinging it he aimed to have it wrap around Zeth's legs
IC:
Zeth moved too late. The chain had already wrapped itself around his shins, causing him to lose his balance. He teetered and crashed to the floor.
The back of his head collided with wooden boards with a resounding crack.
Stars flooded his vision and clouded his perception of reality. His memories however, remained crystal clear.
"Zeth..."
The voice resonated in his mind. It filled every inch of his being, a tortured soul begging for mercy. Bloody fingers reached for his across the jagged earth where his broken body lay. The dim violet glow of her heartlight allowed him to see through the veil of darkness that clouded his vision.
The sound of metal penetrating flesh filled the emptiness of the cavern. A gasp, then silence, as warm red liquid puddled slowly towards him...
The Toa of Gravity snapped back to reality as his head finally cleared. Where was he again? Oh yeah. He had attacked the creature, Chivinix. He sighed and placed his hands on either side of his body and pushed himself to his knees.
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix would not allow for this and as the kusarigama wrapped around the zeth's shins he pulled on the chain while jumping towards zeth intending to land on his back while his four hands were posed to strike
"You're not getting away!"
IC: Varan
But in the confusion, the hulking monster rose above them once more. And he was furious.
The infection had spread among his whole body. He didn't need a mask. He needed no weapons.
He was now a puppet. And his mission remained.
With a thrust of his spindly arms, Varan blasted a wave of solid gravity towards Chivinix, and raced for Zeth.
OOC: Hey Requiem, I'm still not completely decided about Varan's pre-Fallen name, so if you could just call him Varan for now, that'd be great while I think up a name for him.
OOC: Hold up. I'm am curious how exactly you are going about this sudden 'Energy' despite having your mask removed. We all know how weak a toa is without their mask as revealed by canon.
OOC: Alright, no prob. But yeah, are you going to explain how he still has all this energy? I mean, I'm not too concerned about anyone playing unfairly here, but an explanation would make things a little more understandable.
IC:
Zeth anticipated the impact, but allowed his body to be subdued beneath the weight of Chivinix. His ached already from the fight, and he was on the edge of giving in to defeat.
This was ridiculous. He didn't want to fight either of his current opponents, but right now both of them wanted him dead. Under normal circumstances, he would flee in a situation like this, but he couldn't leave Varan behind to the wrath of Chivinix. He had no doubts that this creature was very well capable of ending both of their lives.
C'mon Zeth, get up!
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix now attemped to dig his talon like feet into Zeth's back while his wings hummed in annoyance. He was growing tired of this whole situation, afterall he had only joined because a certain le-matoran promised him food yet the little gnat had gone off somewhere else.
Chivinix going to pay little green gnat a visit. Gnat will know not to backstab Chivinix.
Chivinix then shouted to the two toa present while he attempted to dig into Zeth's back with his talons
"If toa lay down weapons Chivinix will not kill! Chivinix here for food only. If toa continue chivinix will make you like past opponents, a meal."
OOC: Okay, guys, I'm bummed that we always miss each other. We really need to set down a time to be on and stick with it. As for the energy, I'm really trying not to be a god-modder here, but the power he recieves comes from the Master. If it's consolation, though, this power will run out, too. The difference beteween this and normal elemental power is that this power is extremely strong, but runs out quickly, only allowing short bursts and tiring out Varan rapidly.
IC: Varan
Varan heard the creature's plea, and decided to use it to his advantage. The last of his energy was almost depleted, and he knew it was wise to cooperate. He stopped his advance on Zeth and turned to Chivinix.
"I will concur, beast... but only on one condition. Assist me in this Toa's demise." He pointed at Zeth.
"If you do..." he smiled evilly. "I will feed you more meat than you can imagine. Courtesy of my own Master."
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix narrowed his eyes considerably as he looked at the other ba-toa. He extended two of his four hands towards the toa
"Shake on it and Chivinix will agree."
IC: Varan
Varan was no fool. He had barely any power left, and he was weaker than ever. And he was supposed to shake this insect's hand?
But he knew this could be the only way.
He reached out and grasped Chivinix's clawed hand.
"Deal."
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix flashed a rather quick smile as he gripped the hand. Without warning he sent a bolt of energy from his palm directly into Varan's hand likely causing a large hole through his hand if not blowing off his whole hand, while his three other hands aimed towards Varan's chest shooting off bolts of energy from each of his hands.
"You think Chivinix will ally with scum like you? Chivinix is not fool."
However he kept his one foot dug into Zeth's back while he focused his hands on Varan.
OOC: Thanks for the clarification, Bioman
Much appreciated
IC:
Zeth could only listen as the fight raged on above him. He was weak, battered, and bruised from the day's events already. If he could so much as escape with his life he'd be a lucky one.
Chivinix dug his claws into Zeth's shoulder blades painfully. The floor beneath him blurred in and out of focus as he struggled to stay conscious.
Don't give in yet... You have to keep on living. For Xia...
His silver fist hit the ground with force, and his body pushed up against that of Chivinix.
I WON"T DIE!
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix felt his foot lift and dug his talons in deeper attempting to keep Zeth down
"Stay down and you will live. Chivinix not being paid to kill you."
IC:
Zeth grimaced as the claws dug deeper into his flesh.
"Yeah, sorry to break it to you, but I need Varan to survive along with me."
With a single burst of energy, he pushed upwards with his body as well as gravity.
IC: Chivinix
Chivinix cursed as he felt Zeth attempt to get up. even as he managed Chivinix used his wings to his advantage as he kept his foot in Zeth's back using his wings to keep himself afloat. However he now attemped to latch onto Zeth's neck with his other foot relying on his wings as they flapped quickly enough to appear to be going faster than the eye could follow
IC: Varan
Varan roared, more with rage than pain, as Chivinix blasted energy throughout his body. It was intense, and almost knocked him out. Almost.
Enraged, Varan used the last of his power. As he released his epic burst of gravity, he aimed it straight for Chivinix, knowing that it's unpredictability would have one of three effects. It would either weigh Chivinix down so much he couldn't move, make him so light he'd drift away, or simply blast him across the Koro. But as he released it, it also benefited him - the force of the power jetted him away, causing him to fall, down down down through the foliage below, and escape from harm. But the sudden weakness that came with his power surrender was immense, and he had little time to call his gukko before he blacked out. This time, though, the gukko did it's job right, carrying him far away.
