IC: Detrix
"Oh, right." He didn't remember much of how he got to this place, but what he did know was that he might find some answers with Rune's help. Or some alcohol, either one would please him immensely.
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
"It's not too late to change direction", Hile said with a shrug. "If you're willing, that is."
IC: Rune (and Zeth)
The Vo-Toa listened as the Toa continued their debate of who was right and who was wrong. To her, Anhar seemed to be the one in the wrong. Leave a hot headed Ta-Toa alone for five seconds and they're bound to have screwed something up.
In this case, his own sanity.
She didn't move from her spot on the damp ground. She was tired from her travels, and definitely needed a drink.
"I suppose I'm stuck dragging this guy along with us." she complained, motioning to the unconscious Zeth that lay a few feet away.
He stirred.
IC: Marda
Marda smiled, shaking her head.
"I'm sure, sweetie. I haven't needed it in years. Trust me, after a few months at sea you don't even feel dizzy anymore." she said. Then she looked at her companions. "Shall we be on our ways then? Le-Koro awaits." she asked.
IC: Zaara.
"Okay..." Zaara drank from the vial, and felt better almost immediately. She got up, dusted herself off, and did her best to look dignified - difficult to accomplish after everything she'd just gone through. "Yes, let's head to Le-Koro." she agreed, even though she still didn't really know what it was.
She was taking a leap of faith by going along with these complete strangers, and hoping it would pay off.
Not that he was too worried; she had nothing to lose anyway.
IC: Anhar
Anhar looked hopelessly at Hile. There was no way to explain to the little one... without endangering them all.
So instead, he replied, "I chose my path - I am no being to stray from it once set in motion. You will all depart from here, now - or I will kill you all."
IC: Varan
Varan cleared his throat and replied, "Very well - you have chosen your fate. Now, fall with it."
Summoning all of his strength, the Ba-Toa leaped over Hile and sent a devastating wave of gravity towards Anhar. The crushing energy smashed into the Toa of Fire, weighing him down so heavily that his feet began to sink through the solid ground. He cried out in pain.
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
"No! No!" Hile shouted, grabbing onto Varan's leg. The weight of the little Matoran was barely an annoyance to the Toa of Gravity, but Hile had decided to take a stance and carry it through.
"He's misguided!" Hile said. "But all he wanted was your mask. Now that it's been used... just let him go."
IC:
"Oh boy, death threats and Toa killing people? No thank you."
Alsorate said to himself, walking away towards... somewhere.
IC: Varan
Varan looked down at the little Matoran, slightly annoyed. This was Toa business, after all. But when he looked into his eyes, Varan saw something - a burning courage, a determined will... a true heart. The heart of a Toa.
Looking at Hile, Varan saw mirrored the hearts of his past companions - unwilling to surrender, going out of their way to defend the innocent and attack injustice. And now, for the first time in ages, Varan felt compassion.
Varan sighed and let his gravity grip on Anhar loose. The Ta-Toa fell, unconscious from the stress, to the ground. Varan knelt down to Hile, curious.
"What do you see in him, Chronicler? He has lied, cheated, stolen... and yet you still defend him. Why?"
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
Hile was surprised to see Varan actually react to his words. It was almost like he was weighing his options, and Hile was the extra weight that could tip his opinion on either side.
"He's a fallen hero", Hile replied. "But fallen heroes can redeem themselves. And with the mask he sought having been used to transform you, what reason would he have to continue his current ways?" Hile rubbed the back of his head. "Of course, I don't know why he wanted that mask in the first place..."
IC: Varan
The darkness that overcame Varan when Hile spoke those words nearly kept him from replying. When he did, it was with a hint of malice.
"Best not mention it. I have a feeling that this goes deeper than either of us could comprehend."
Rising from the ground, Varan stretched out his hand towards Hile. "You've done well, Chronicler. I had a friend quite like you once... a Chronicler, I mean. Never did find his remains - you would've like him." Varan shook off the chill that crept down his spine. "Anyways, thank you for your help. Now that Anhar is unconscious, we can - "
Varan stopped short. He was staring intently at Hile's belt.
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
Uh oh, now what? Hile thought with a sudden jolt of fear.
"Everything alright?"
IC: Varan
"Where did you get that?" He asked quietly.
He was pointing to the dagger given to Hile by Anhar.
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
"Oh I got it..." Hile began, then stopped. "Why are you asking?"
IC: Varan
The look in Varan's eyes was one of complete bewilderment.
"Because..." He said slowly, "It doesn't belong to Anhar. He's the one who gave it to you, isn't he?"
OOC: I just discovered that my companions have quit due to lack of interaction. I'm going to kind of restart based on that if that's ok.
Asuno:
Having his companions and his charge die on him due to the chaos in the Reveler's Arena, Asuno had to fight for his life just to get out.
He reclaimed his cloak from Jrahann's body, and barely dodged a wild slash that gave him a very visible scar on his right eye.
He released a sonic shockwave, and, not checking to see if everyone was disoriented, ran out of there, managing to escape.
Filled with shame over the loss of his friend and the matoran he was protecting, Asuno shook his head.
"I need to redeem myself." He said. "I need to get to Kini-Nui."
He ran through the jungle, refusing to look back.
(Open to interaction, but if none happens, going to Kini Nui)
IC: Kelz and Ryza.
Through the thermal scope of her sniper rifle, Ryza saw someone blundering through the trees towards the cove where the Wayward Wind was docked. She waited calmly, leveling her sights on the unseen newcomer, ready to fire at the first sign of an enemy. Once it got close enough, she recognised him to be none other than her own brother. She was still tempted to shoot him, but decided better of it.
One person on her own couldn't sail the ship, after all.
Kelz pushed his way through the trees and waded through the shallows back to the ship. The tide was still out, the ship was still stranded, but he didn't mind waiting. He felt safer on board than out in the forest with Toa trying to kill each other.
"Where have you been?" Ryza asked him, reluctantly lowering her rifle.
"You don't want to know," he muttered in response.
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
Hile looked at the dagger. "Yes... but now it does belong to me, doesn't it?"
IC: Detrix
Detrix looked at the unconscious hindrance. "Oh," he said, trying to peel off some of the vegetation that was stuck to his armor. "So... How do we do that...?"
IC: Varan
He had half a mind to take the dagger from Hile without an explanation. After all, it didn't belong to him - or any of them, for that matter. It belonged in Onu-Koro.
But Varan made the mistake of looking into Hile's eyes again. Apparently, the Matoran was still shocked at seeing Anhar in his current state. Maybe it would be wise to let him keep the dagger...
Yes. It's what Jakura would want.
Varan sighed. "Very well. Keep it. I have... other business to attend to." He walked over to Anhar, applied gravity to him to make him lighter, and slung him over his shoulder.
"I know where to take him - he'll be treated there. And safe."
Varan turned and began to walk away, then stopped. He turned back to Hile.
"There is a mystery too solver here, Chronicler. Anhar, Mesonak, the "Master" - they may all be connected. I will continue to hunt for whoever this "Master" character is... if you want to help, answers can be found in Onu-Koro. Until next time."
He then turned to Rune. "And what about you? You up for an adventure?"
OOC: Bit of a late note, but sorry if my IC: X isn't always bold or colored - I can't really use color when I'm on mobile.
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
"You are taking Anhar there? To Onu-Koro?"
IC: Varan
Varan cleared his throat. "No. To Ta-Koro. A friend - well, a few friends - owe me a debt. They will take care of him."
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi, Fau swamp):
Hile took one last glance at Anhar and then turned back to Varan, nodding. "Good luck on your travels, Toa. Perhaps we shall meet again in Onu-Koro... or somewhere else on this island."
With that, Hile walked away from the scene, further from the Fau swamp. All around him, he could see the damage done to the foliage by the Entropy Beetles and wondered what other troubles awaited the Matoran in the horizon.
IC: Varan
Varan nodded and watched the little Chronicler walk off. He hoped to see him again...
"So," he said, turning to Rune again. "What's it going to be?"
IC Hile
(Le-Wahi):
Having been on the road for a long time, Hile decided to head home to Ko-Koro before going to Onu-Koro.
OOC: Hile to Ko-Wahi.
IC: Rune
She was slightly intrigued, but in desperate need of some time off to gather the scattered bits of herself back together. She looked at the De-Toa, then back at Varan.
"Well, this fellow offered to buy me a drink. I also planned to tend to a few personal matters while visiting the Koro. You're off to Ta-Wahi I hear? No offense, but I'd rather stick to a more fruitful environment such as this. As I said before, I just got back from being stuck in Ko-Koro's lockdown for weeks on end. I've had more than my fill of barren wastelands for awhile."
She watched as the Matoran diminished into the distance. Normally, he would've disappeared from sight in less time, but the trees surrounding them had been significantly thinned out by the ravenous beatles. Now, countless stumps lay scattered about. It was a disturbing sight, almost unreal.
"Thanks for the offer though, Varan. I wish you the best of luck. I've just witnessed quite the interesting turn of events today and-"
She stopped speaking abruptly as she noticed Zeth's charred form for the second time.
"What about this guy? He looks like he could use some medical attention."
IC: Varan
"I had nearly forgotten," Varan admitted, running to Zeth's side. He put his hand to his heartlight.
"He's very ill. He'll need treatment - perhaps I should take a side trip into Le-Koro, first..."
Ic:
Koura was needless to say, lost. He had been traveling for a good while now, trying to get a feel for the lands outside of Ga-Koro. Following the coast had been a good idea, before inadvertently going tr opposite of Ta-koro. So after a good while, he had finally found Le-koro after a good deal of fumbling about. He knew he needed a map, but there was little that he possessed that was worth any value... And none of it he was willing to part with.
Which was absolutely stubborn of him, considering the only thing of value on him was a sword he didn't even know how to use.
IC:
Koura found an upside down head staring at him.
"Sup?"
Ic:
The young matoran did his best not to shout in terror at the sight of someone's upside down head appearing in his path. Even though it was still connected to a living body.
"Uh... Not much..? You..?"
IC:
"Just hanging around..."
She stifled a giggle.
"Name's Hakari, I'm a Lesterin of plant-life."
Ic:
A little-less on edge now, koura raised a bemused eye.
"I can't say I've met a lesterin before, I'm Koura... Ta-Matoran."
IC: Hakari
"Can you eat fire?" She seemed to be asking seriously.
"I always wanted to see someone eat fire."
Ic:
"Ah... I don't think I've ever done that, no."
o-o
IC: Hakari
"I see...GAH!" The branch Hakari was hanging from snapped and she fell rather hilariously.
Ic:
Koura had darted forward to try to catch his new acquaintance.
He also forgot he was less than half her size and provided a nice cushion for her fall. His ga-matoran yellow eyes partially closed as he found himself temporarily trapped.
IC: Hakari
"It's okay....I'm okay!" Hakari said as she checked herself out, she had expected the fall to hurt a lot more, but luckily her fall had been cushioned by.... Oh wait...
Hakari quickly got off the poor matoran and looked him over. "Oh god I'm so sorry! You alright?"
Ic:
"Don't worry, nothing's broken!" He exclaimed with a bit of a chuckle as Koura got back up, "Maybe you even sorted out a crick in my back for me."
IC: Hakari
"You sure? I could always rush you to a doctor just in case..."
Ic:
Koura looked even more spooked than when Hakari had randomly appeared in front of him.
"Noo... I'll be fine! Promise," he said with a smile, making an "x" over his heartlight.
